Pulmonary arteriovenous fistula is a congenital vascular malformation In the lung, various synonyms including Pulmonary cavernous vascular malformation, Pulmonary arteriovenous aneurysm, Cavernous hemangioma of the lung0 Pulmonary telangiectasia, Pulmonary hamartoma, etc. The pathogenesis of its symptoms is that unoxygenated, desaturated arterial blood enters into the pulmonary venous system directly. Recently we have experienced one case of the pulmonary arteriovenous fistula which was diagnosed as the pulmonary cystic lesion of the lung preoperatively in 20 years old, 61 kg, male patient. Operation was revealed well circumscribed cystic lesion filled with blood, subpleural and anterior mediobasal location, and bright red colored aspirates on two times needle aspirations. Microscopic finding shows ill circumscribed vascular lesion composed of varying sized blood vessels with irregular thickening of wall and final pathological diagnosis is Pulmonary Arteriovenous Fistula. Basal segmentectomy was done and the patient shows good postoperative course.

The extracardiac conduit Fontan procedure is the last surgical step in the treatment of patients with a functional single ventricle. An acquired pulmonary arteriovenous malformation may appear perioperatively or postoperatively due to an uneven hepatic flow distribution. Here we report a case of a bifurcated Y-graft Fontan operation in a 15-year-old male patient with a unilateral pulmonary arteriovenous malformation after an extracardiac conduit Fontan operation.

Guyon's canal at the wrist is not the common site of ulnar nerve compression. Ganglion, lipoma, anomalous tendon and muscles, trauma related to an occupation, arthritis, and carpal bone fracture can cause ulnar nerve compression at the wrist. However, ulnar nerve compression at Guyon's canal by vascular lesion is rare. Ulnar artery aneurysm, tortous ulnar artery, hemangioma, and thrombosis have been reported in the literature as vascular lesions. The authors experienced a case of ulnar nerve compression at Guyon's canal by an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) and the patient's symptom was improved after surgical resection. We can not easily predict vascular lesion as a cause of ulnar nerve compression at Guyon's canal. However, if there is not obvious etiology, we should consider vascular lesion as another possible etiology.

Zoster sine herpete (ZSH) is difficult to diagnosis during an acute period due to the absence of the characteristic zosteriform dermatomal rash; therefore, progression to postherpetic neuralgia is more common than typical zoster. In addition, misdiagnosis of other neuropathic pain as ZSH is common in clinical situations. Here, we report a case of spinal arteriovenous malformation that mimics ZSH. This is a rare condition; therefore, high clinical suspicion for a correct diagnosis and proper examination are not easy. However, early diagnosis and definitive treatment are essential to prevent neurologic deficit and mortality.
The arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is an anomaly of capillary development that results from direct connection between branches of artery and vein without intervening capillary bed. The neurogenic tumors have a tendency to various types of degeneration. Recently, we experienced a 73-year old man with a mass in left supraclavicular area. The intraoperative findings showed severe adhesions with cervical plexus, like a neurogenic tumor. Finally, the mass was revealed as AVM. We report a unique disease pattern with a literature review.
The arteriovenous malformation, an uncommon lesion, is a direct communication between an artery and a vein that bypasses the intervening capillary bed. The authors experienced two cases of arteriovenous malformation in 17-year-old and 18-year-old female patients who had suffered from mandibular pain and gingival bleeding. As a result of careful analysis of clinical and angiographic radiological examinations, we diagnosed them as arteriovenous malformations, and the results were as follows : 1. Main clinical symptoms were dull pain and gingival bleeding on the mandibular body area, and reddness, pain on palpation, thrill and palpitation in the lesional sites were also observed. 2. Radiographically, well-defined radiolucent lesions with multiple osteolytic defects were observed. In radio-nuclide scan, increased uptakes of radioisotope were observed in the lesional sites. 3. Increased venous shunt supplied by the facial, lingual and inferior alveolar arteries was observed in angiography. After embolotherapy was performed, no recurrence was reported during 3 to 6 months follow up.
Dural arteriovenous malformations(AVM) are not uncommon. Reports of intracranial dural AVM have been increasing but most of them deal with dural AVM in the region of the cavernous sinus, posterior fossa and tentorium, but those of the anterior cranial fossa are very rare. Recently, we experienced two cases of right frontal dural arteriovenous malformation fed mainly by both ethmoidal arteries. The angiographic appearance in these two cases is quite uniform. The nidus was located in the frontal dura, although their main feeders were dural arteries. They were drained through an intracerebral cortical vein associated with aneurysmal dilatation of proximal portion into superior sagittal sinus. Spontaneous intracerebral hematoma was the cause of the clinical symptoms. We report two cases of intracerebral hematoma, caused by dural AVM, which was successfully managed by surgical treatment.
Arteriovenous malformations are extremely rare conditions in that can result from abnormalities in the structure of blood vessels, which may be potentially fatal. A 30-year-old female patient visited our hospital with a complaint of swelling on the right maxillary posterior gingiva along with the large port-wine stain on right side of face. On clinical examination, the swelling was compressible and pulsatile. Radiographic examination revealed a lytic lesion of maxilla. Diagnostic angiography revealed a high-flow arteriovenous malformation of maxilla which was treated by selective transarterial embolization of maxillary artery using polyvinyl alcohol particles.
Purpose: Arteriovenous fistula is one of high flow vascular malformations. Recently, arteriovenous fistula has been regarded as one of the type of arteriovenous malformations. The patients were diagnosed as arteriovenous malformation Schobinger clinical stage II. Even though arteriovenous fistula rarely occurs on head and neck, treatment of that is difficult due to frequent recurrence. In treating the arteriovenous fistula, chemical embolization, surgical excision and other treatment modalities were used, but the results were not satisfactory. The authors experienced three cases of arteriovenous fistula and treated them with surgical excision. Methods: In cases, warmth, enlargement, pulsation, thrill, and bruit were found. For the accurate evaluation before the operation, angiography and MRI were checked in advance. Incision was made on the site of pulsation. The artery and vein connected to the arteriovenous fistula were dissected widely, individually ligated, and divided. And then the entire mass was totally removed. Results: All surgical sites were healed well without complications and there was no evidence of recurrence in all cases up to for 2 years of follow-up examination. Conclusion: The arteriovenous fistula on face is a very rare disease and has difficulties in treatment. The authors experienced three cases of arteriovenous fistula with complete surgical removal and no recurrence was found in all cases.
