In the context of globalization, circulation between cities has become more frequent. The airport is no longer just a place for boarding, disembarking, and transportation, but a public place that serves as the communication function of the "aviation city". The intervention of public art in the airport space not only gives users a sense of space experience, but also becomes a unique carrier for city and country image shaping. The purpose of this paper is to study the emotional value brought by airport public art to users, and to investigate the correlation analysis of public art design elements and user preferences based on this premise. The research methods are machine learning method and SPSS 21.0. The user's emotional value is introduced in the big data evaluation, and the preference and inclination of airport users to various elements of public art are analyzed by questionnaire. Through the research conclusion, the preference and main contradiction of users in the airport for the four dimensions of public art design elements are obtained. Opinions and optimization methods to provide reference data and theoretical support for public art design.

This paper delves into the recent 'paintings' of African-American artist David Hammons, which combine rubbish-like plastic wraps with the abstract-expressionist style paintings. In straddling between rubbish and art object, his works tend to blur the boundary drawn between two opposite categories in value, art and garbage, provoking the sophisticated taste of Upper-East-side white community in Manhattan, New York. Choosing the venue of his exhibition at a commercial gallery, Hammons's creative efforts is also a critique of what can be seen as the dominance of abstract expressionism and white elitism in American art history. The artist is known for his use of unconventional materials in art making such as black hair, barbecue bones, and elephant droppings, ones that are often associated with African-American experiences in all different levels. Since his debut in the art scene in the 1970s, Hammons has pursued the view of art-making as a medium for provoking contentious issues of racial relations in the States. On the other hand, the reception of Hammons's work as African-American art can be potentially quite limiting, overlooking as it does multi-faceted meanings of his art practice. His unconventional approach to art often took him outside art galleries and museums, where he was seen using a variety of common materials for site-specific installations and performances. Staged in different parts of Manhattan, these acts of art making traverse seemingly opposite communities and cultures, often blurring their boundaries. Hammons's artistic practice can label him what Abdul Jan Mohamed calls "specular border intellectual", revealing as it does the symbiosis of binary oppositions that is basic to the experience of communnal living.

This paper examines the historical meaning and value of sound art curating as a key type of interdisciplinary and convergence art practice that has been unfolding since the mid-20th century. Accordingly, this paper summarizes the developmental process from the beginning of 'sound art' to the present, but examines the context of visual art in which the material 'sound' functioned in chronological order, and focuses on curating cases of major sound art exhibitions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact and contemporary significance of the provided aesthetic experience. To this end, the text is divided into three sections and developed. The first section recognizes that the late 19th century futurist and Dadaist sound poetry, followed by Marcel Duchamp's 1913 attempt to combine musical score with visual art, had a profound influence on the visual music of avant-garde composer John Cage. This explains why this background caused the emergence of exhibitions dealing with 'sound' as a new medium. The second section explains that in the 1970s, sound as an artistic medium played a role in reflecting the critical relationship with the exhibition space dominated by visuality. In the third section, we analyze the curatorial methodology that allows the audience to experience sound as if it were a visual object within the organization of the exhibition hall from the 1980s to the present. Through this process, this paper critically treats the historical practice of customizing the perceptual structure in the exhibition hall, and considers the meaningful methodology of sound art curating considering the role of sound full of vitality in the contemporary art scene.

This paper examines the professional qualifications of the directors of important public art museums in Korea in comparison to museums outside Korea through analysis of the directors' primary qualifications, including academic background, major, career experience, and study abroad experience, as well as secondary qualifications, including length of tenure, age, gender, and alma mater, which can indirectly the hiring process for directors. The museums examined in this study are separated into three geographical categories - 1. Seoul, 2. the Seoul Metropolitan Area, and 3. locations in Korea outside the Seoul Metropolitan Area - to analyze how the influence of primary and secondary qualifications differs across geographies. Additionally, this study looks at how the professional qualifications of directors in Korea compare to the qualifications of directors outside Korea to identify the idiosyncrasies of the Korean system. It finds that directors in Korea, in general, have a shorter length of tenure, are older, are more likely to be female, and are less likely to be foreign than the directors of overseas museums. Experience-wise, directors in Korea often have experience working as art experts, artists, and art professors, but their backgrounds differ depending on the region in which they are working. Although directors in Korea have, across the board, studied abroad and graduated from prestigious universities, there are noticeable differences across the three geographical locations looked at. Notably, in Korea, the proportion of directors who majored in practical skills is high, while in the case of directors overseas, the proportion of those who majored in art history is high. In addition, while a high percentage of directors are graduates of Hongik University regardless of their museum's location, graduates of Seoul University are mainly concentrated in the Seoul and Seoul Metropolitan Areas. Museums outside the Seoul Metropolitan Area, on the other hand, often hire directors who have graduated from a nearby university. These differences mark a contrast between Korean museums and museums overseas, which generally hire directors who have graduated from prestigious universities, regardless of geographical location.

This study aims to investigate the relations between the components of memorable tourism experience(MTE) and satisfaction, as well as loyalty. Research method and results of this study are as follows. Using the advance research of memorable tourism experience theory, the measurement scales were developed for the survey. Data were collected from the major cities in Dajeon, Korea between Jun. 1~Jul, 10, 2016. Of the 295 surveys collected, the researchers retained 274 usable responses. Data were used to examine the relations among characteristics of memorable tourism experience, satisfaction, and loyalty. The results indicated that the components of memorable tourism experience comprise nine factors. Moreover, part of the factors revealed to have significant positive effects on the satisfaction and loyalty. The results of this study provide implications for determining how tourism operators should prioritize their business resources in developing tourism programs.

As augmented reality technology has developed, various augmented reality contents can be seen in real life, and the performance of mobile device is improved, so augmented reality technology can be used even without special device. As a result, a training system, guidance system and a museum art guide system based on augmented reality technology are emerging, and interest in augmented reality is also increasing. However, the existing guidance systems using a single mobile device have limitations in terms of the user experience (UX) because the camera of the device limits the field of view or the two hands are not free and the user input is difficult. In this paper, we compare augmented reality based guidance systems for Rubik's Cube using tablet and HMD to improve the constraint of user experience of such a single mobile device, and find elements that positively improve user experience. After that, we evaluate whether the user experience is actually improved through the user experience comparison test and the questionnaire.

With the sustainable development and transformation of the city, public art as a business card of the famous city of culture has become a hot topic of research. The intervention of public art in public space not only brings users a sense of space experience, but also becomes a unique carrier of urban and rural image making. Although there is much research on the classification, aesthetics and function of public art, there is few quantitative research on user satisfaction. This paper takes the basic features of airport public art as a research object and the basic features of airport public art as the theoretical basis to study the impact of the basic characteristics of airport public art on user satisfaction. Research methods were based on questionnaire data of 247 people, in which models and hypotheses were tested using SPSS 21.0 software, based on the induction and extraction of nine influential factors in the basic characteristics of public art. The study found that public interpretation, media patterns, color perception, modeling form, place perception, city image and memory have significant positive effects on user satisfaction. The sharedness of public art, cognition and communication in public culture and spatial relations do not affect satisfaction. Conclusion, inspiration and prospect provide suggestions for designers and reference data and theoretical support for public art evaluation.

The goal of this study was to analyze the degree of kindergarten teacher's understanding with respect to educational activities of social relationships area & art experience area in the Nuri-curriculum and to provide complementary materials and educational programs for enhancing kindergarten teacher's professional development. The tool for this study was a number of questionnaires on teacher's understanding in two area. The number of survey participants were 650 teachers and 78 preliminary teachers, 728 in total. Statistical analysis to this research responses was done by SPSS 23 at the significance level of .05, .01, .001 each. Research findings reached a conclusion of proposing differentiated complementary materials and educational programs based on the types of kindergarten, qualification of teachers and their demographics. That is, it should be adjusted to the differences in establishment-operation types of kindergarten, location/size/ages of class, careers/ages/license of teachers, and current-preliminary teacher's understanding. The educational activities of social relationships area should be focused on an attitude of valuing oneself and family by browsing and practicing what one can do for oneself and family. The educational activities of art experience area should be focused on integrated experience of artistic expression and appreciation activities by exploring musical, movement and artistic elements.

This paper examines the problems of the concept of 'analogon' which occupies an important place in Jean-Paul Sartre's theory of imagination and his 'aesthetic of the unreal', focusing on Michel Dufrenne's objection to the concept. In the Imaginary (1940), Sartre offers a phenomenological account of the imaginative experience and his theory of imagination provides the basis for his account of experience of art. Sartre distinguishes the imagining consciousness from the realizing consciousness of perception. The work of art, for Sartre, is transformed into an irreal thing ("The work of art is irreality."), i.e. it appears only as aesthetic object, and only under the condition that the spectator's consciousness changes into an imagining consciousness. Some claim that Sartre underemphasizes the function of materiality in artworks. Mikel Dufrenne, in his The Phenomenology of Aesthetic Experience (1953), criticizes Sartre's thesis of irreality. Dufrenne argues that the aesthetic object is the work of art accomplished by aesthetic perception, the meaning of the aesthetic object is given as a whole in the sensuous and does not refer to something that lies outside the object as with imagination or irreality. An affective a priori is the condition of possibility for the occurrence of aesthetic experience.
