ARM7 호환 32-Bit RISC Microprocessor 설계 (A Desigen of the ARM7-Compatible 32Bit RISC Microprocessor)

  • 본 논문에서는 RISC Microprocessor Core 설계에 대한 기반 기술을 확립하여, GPS(Global Positioning System) 같은 Embedded 시스템 등에서 주로 사용되어 지고 있는 ARM사의 ARM7 CPU와 이진 호환이 가능한 Microprocessor를 설계하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 RISC Microprocessor의 기본적인 구조를 바탕으로 하여 ARM7 CPU와의 호환을 위하여 ARM7 CPU의 명령어들이 주어진 Clock안에 수행될 수 있도록 설계를 하였고, 여러 모듈을 원활히 공유할 수 있도록 내부에 공유 버스를 설계하였다. 설계를 위해서 Verilog-HDL(Hardware Description Language)을 사용하였으며, Microprocessor를 기술하는데 있어서 Behavioral 구조와 RTL(Register Transfer Level) 구조를 혼합하여 사용하였다. 설계된 Microprocessor의 동작은 면적과 타이밍의 최적화를 거친 후 Cwaves 툴을 사용하여 실질적인 ARM7의 명령어들을 수행하면서 검증하였다.

외부 충격시 우측팔의 생체역학적 거동해석 (A Study on the Behavior of Human Right Arm under Impact Condition)

  • In this paper, the right arm was modelled by muscle-skeleton elements to obtain the behavior of right arm of human under impact condition, where physical and geometrical properties of human body such as Young's modulus, shear modulus, cross sectional area, length, density, moment of inertia and position were defined. Based on the numerical model of the right arm, the impact response of the right arm was obtained. By the comparison with the experimental results, the model of the right arm was verified.

  • 구명정 진수장치는 크게 main frame, main arm, upper arm, support bar로 구성되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 upper arm의 굽힘 강성에 영향을 주는 인자로 plate 두께와 arm 단면의 가로 세로 길이를 설계 인자로 설정하며, 이들 인자에 대한 영향력을 분석하고자 하였다. 설계 인자에 대한 영향력 분석을 위해 실험계획법의 일종인 다구찌법과 함께 수치해석적인 방법을 이용하였으며, 각 설계인자간의 영향력 분석을 통해 실질적으로 산업에 도움을 주고자하였다.

자동차용 컨트롤암의 내구성능 평가 (Durability Evaluation of Automobile Control Arm)

  • Control arm is the structural component that pivots on two places. One end of the control arm is attached to the body frame and the other end is attached to the steering knuckle. The former research proposed the structural design by applying optimization technique with aluminum alloy. This study suggests a durability test method on the developed upper control arm to validate the analysis results. The durability analysis results of the developed control arm by using MSC Fatigue is confirmed to be close to infinite life. The weak model of developed control arm which occurs to finite life is made to perform the durability test and the zig design is developed in this process.

Risk assessment of vibriosis by Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio vulnificus in whip-arm octopus consumption in South Korea

  • This study evaluated the risk of foodborne illness from highly pathogenic Vibrio spp. (Vibrio vulnificus and V. cholerae) by raw whip-arm octopus (Octopus minor) consumption. In total 180 samples of raw whip-arm octopus were collected from markets and examined for the prevalence of V. vulnificus and V. cholerae. Predictive models describing the kinetic behavior of Vibrio spp. in raw whip-arm octopus were developed, and the data on amounts and frequency of raw whip-arm octopus consumption were collected. Using the collected data, a risk assessment simulation was conducted to estimate the probability of foodborne illness raw whip-arm octopus consumption using @RISK. Initial contamination levels of Vibrio spp. in raw whip-arm octopus were -3.9 Log colony-forming unit/g, as estimated by beta distribution fitting. The developed predictive models were appropriate to describe Vibrio spp. in raw whip-arm octopus during distribution and storage with R2 values of 0.946-0.964. The consumption frequency and daily consumption amounts of raw whip-arm octopus per person were 0.47% and 57.65 g, respectively. The probability of foodborne illness from raw whip-arm octopus consumption was estimated to be 8.71 × 10-15 for V. vulnificus and 7.08 × 10-13 for V. cholerae. These results suggest that the risk of Vibrio spp. infection from raw whip-arm octopus consumption is low in South Korea.

  • The tip of the flexible robot arm has to be controlled by the active control reducing vibration because it has residual vibration after getting to desired position. This paper presents an end-point position control of a 1-link flexible robot arm having tip mass by the PID control algorithm. The system is composed of a flexible arm with tip mass, dc servomotor and ballscrew mechanism under translational motion. The feedback signal composed of the tip displacement measured by laser sensor, estimated velocity and acceleration is used to control the base motion. Theoretical results are obtained by applying the Laplace transform and the numerical inversion method to the governing equations. After the flexible robot arm reaches to. the desired position, the residual vibration is controlled by the PID algorithm. This paper gives the simulation and experimental results of end-point responses according to changing tip-mass and arm length. And this algorithm shows good effects of reducing the residual vibration. Approximately, theoretical response is in good agreement with experimental one.

High Performance Implementation of SGCM on High-End IoT Devices

  • In this paper, we introduce novel techniques to improve the high performance of AE functions on modern high-end IoT platforms (ARM-NEON), which support SIMD and cryptography instruction sets. For the Sophie Germain Counter Mode of operation (SGCM), counter modes of encryption and prime field multiplication are required. We chose the Montgomery multiplication for modular multiplication. We perform Montgomery multiplication in a parallel way by exploiting both the ARM and NEON instruction sets. Specifically, the NEON instruction performed 128-bit integer multiplication and the ARM instruction performed Montgomery reduction, simultaneously. This approach hides the latency for ARM in the NEON instruction set. For a high-speed counter mode of encryptions for both AE functions, we introduced two-level computations. When the tasks were large volume, we switched to the NEON instruction to execute the encryption operations. Otherwise, we performed the encryptions on the ARM module.

  • Finite element analysis is performed to evaluate structural reliability of an automotive pedal arm under conditions of the stiffness, the load and the endurance test specifications. Results of the analysis shows that the pedal arm is safe enough under the tests. A topology optimization is numerically implemented, overall shape of the pedal arm being verified to be reasonable, A design concept to insert holes in the arm is established, which may be used to reduce its weight.

상지체표변화에 따른 인간공학적 소매설계에 관한 연구 (A Stydy on the Ergonomic Sleeve Design by Body Surface Changes at Upper Extremity)

  • The zone of expansion and contraction of arm surfaces was analyzed, the correlation between arm surface changes was studied, and ergonomic sleeve designs were presented in which the consideration of body surface changes is emphasized. Experiments were carried out which include 43 upper extremity segments, 21 motions and 35 female subjects. The major conclusions of the study are as follows : 1. As a sleeve drafting method, detailed measures should be applied on the base of the sensitivity of body surface changes. The range of arm surface changes can be divided into three zones : concentrated expansion zone, zone of little change, and contraction part. The maximum expansion zone was the upper part of elbow. 2. The correlations were higher in lengths than in circumferences. Arm lengths were mainly correlated with upper arms. The more detailed the arm surface was, the lower the correlations between surface changes were. So there was not a lot of relation between segment changes. Tendency of body surface changes depended on the anatomical structure of the upper extremity and the movements of arm muscles. 3. As an application of measures and ease, ergonomic sleeve designs weve presented in which arm surface changes were considered. Ergonomic sleeve designs are recommended for working clothes and sports wear.

인터럽트 기능을 갖는 ARM 프로세서의 설계 및 모의실행 (Design and Simulation of ARM Processor with Interrupts)

  • ARM은 저가임에도 불구하고, 저전력 소비와 신뢰할만한 성능으로 인하여 스마트폰, 디지털 카메라, 가정용 네트워크 장치, 무선 기술 등에 널리 쓰이고 있다. 국내는 메모리 반도체 설계에 있어서 세계 최고의 수준이나, 프로세서의 설계는 그에 미치지 못하여 메모리와 프로세서의 균형있는 발전을 이루지 못하고 있다. 일반적으로 프로세서를 설계할 때는 반드시 예외처리 및 인터럽트 기능까지 갖춰야하지만 연구단계에서는 이것이 누락되는 경우가 많다. 그러나, 프로세서가 완벽하게 동작하기 위하여 예외처리 및 인터럽트 기능까지 포함되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 VHDL을 이용하여 예외처리 및 인터럽트 기능을 갖는 32 비트 ARMv4 계열의 프로세서를 설계하고, ModelSim으로 검증하였다. 그 결과, ARM의 예외처리 및 인터럽트 기능을 성공적으로 수행할 수 있었다.
