비선형 유한요소 해석에 의한 강봉 트러스 시스템으로 보강된 조적벽체의 내진거동 평가 (Evaluation of Seismic Response of Masonry Walls Strengthened with Steel-bar Truss Systems by Non-linear Finite Element Analysis)

  • 이 연구에서는 강봉 트러스 시스템으로 보강된 조적벽체의 내진거동을 합리적으로 평가하기 위하여 범용프로그램인 Abaqus를 이용한 비선형 유한요소해석 절차를 제시하였다. 조적벽체의 유한요소 모델은 콘크리트 손상 소성(concrete damaged plasticity, CDP)모델 및 벽돌-모르타르 계면 특성은 Yang et al.이 제시한 조적 프리즘의 압축 및 인장의 응력-변형률 모델과 전단마찰모델을 기반으로 메소-스케일법을 적용하였다. 유한요소 해석결과를 다양한 변수조건에서 실험결과와 비교한 결과, 강봉 트러스 시스템으로 보강된 조적벽체의 균열진전, 파괴 모드, 강체회전 내력 및 최대내력 그리고 횡하중-횡변위 관계에 대한 실험결과와 잘 일치하였다. 따라서 제시된 유한요소해석 절차는 조적벽체의 내진보강 설계에 합리적으로 이용될 수 있다고 판단된다.

한국 내 의과대학병원 내 치과의 공간구성특성에 관한 연구 - 서울지역 의과대학병원을 중심으로 (A Study on the Spatial Configuration Characteristics of Dental Department in Medical Center in Korea - Focused on the Medical Center in Seoul Area)

  • Purpose: Analysis on the spatial configuration characteristics of dental department in medical center through examining outpatient department of medical center is necessary for the development of architectural planning of the dental healthcare system in Korea. This study has been performed to provide data for the planning of hospital architecture. Methods: Literature review of dental healthcare system and investigation on current status of dental department in medical center have been conducted. The plan and spatial configuration of seven medical centers in Seoul area have been analyzed. Results: The result of this study can be summarized in four points. The first one is that the clinical dental spaces are classified by dental school's dental hospital, dental department in medical center, dental hospital, private dental clinic, and public dental healthcare center in Korea. The second one is that the dental department in medical center is a result from medical law regulation and it is specified and subdivided with dental specialist system. The third one is that the types of the dental department in medical center are divided into independent type or comprehensive type according to the relationship with main outpatient department. The fourth one is that the spatial configuration of dental department in medical center is planned with 5-7 specialized departments and they are allocated in the dental department. Implications: In addition to the spatial configuration of dental department in medical center, it is necessary to analyze the other factors like circulation, relationship with other facilities in medical center to develop the dental healthcare system.

여수지역 재래민가(在來民家) 가구(架構)의 구성과 치수의 건립시기별 차이에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Differences of the Timber Framework and Dimensions Among the Building Age of Folk Houses in Yeosu City)

  • The study of the modern age period folk house is still insufficient in the Korean folk house study. The study subject had a tendency towards mainly on the plan in the field of the traditional folk house which had been studied relatively lively. We were going to grasp the formation and the actual situation of the folk house in this paper targeting at Yeosu city where the folk houses were left relatively a lot. Specifically, we examined it how the composition and dimensions of timber framework changed according to period. The division of period from before 1910 to the 1960s classified it at 4 periods on the basis of the sociocultural change. However, as a result of investigation analysis, the change of the composition and dimensions of timber framework was classified at 3 periods not 4 periods. The division of 3 periods is "traditional era", "modern age 1", and "modern age 2" not "traditional era", "modern age", and "contemporary age". The folk house group came as a common name for folk house without doing the division of period until now. There is a meaning in that this paper subdivided the period of the folk house group by the change of the timber framework technology. The timber framework is the effective index to investigate the actual condition because the change is difficult after building. Therefore, we examined it including the dimensions as well as the composition of timber framework in this paper comprehensively and systematically.

국내 항만 및 어항시설의 액상화 평가에 있어서 액상화 가능성 지수의 적용성 검토 (Application and Verification of Liquefaction Potential Index in Liquefaction Potential Assessment of Korean Port and Harbor)

  • 2016년 발생한 국내 계기 계측 사상 최대 규모의 경주지진과 2017년 팔레트구조 건축물의 기둥이 파괴되는 등 국내 최대 지진피해가 발생한 포항지진 이후, 국내 모든 시설물에 대한 내진설계기준이 개정되고 있으며 특히, 포항지진 피해사례 조사 도중 미국, 일본, 뉴질랜드 등 주로 강진지역 국가에서 발생하는 액상화 피해가 발견되어 이에 대한 설계기준의 보완도 심도있게 진행되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 최근 개정된 항만 및 어항시설 내진설계기준에서의 액상화 평가방법을 고찰하고 액상화 평가절차에 새롭게 인용된 액상화 가능성 지수(LPI)를 중심으로 적용성 검토를 수행하였다. 이때, 액상화 발생가능한 모래지반을 다양하게 조성하고 이에 대한 케이스별 LPI 값을 산정 비교하였다. 또한, 실제 22개소 항만의 지반자료를 이용하여 지진시 지반응답해석에 기초한 액상화 평가의 수행과 함께 22개소의 LPI 값들을 비교 검토하였다.

The First Skyscraper Revisited

  • Debates on what is the first skyscraper have been ongoing from time to time since the construction of the Home Insurance Building in Chicago in 1885, which is generally recognized as the first built skyscraper. This paper attempts to verify this assertion through a detailed investigation after identifying the criteria that characterize a skyscraper. By considering and examining several competing buildings for the title of "first skyscraper" in terms of their levels of satisfying these criteria, the paper reconfirms that the Home Insurance Building in Chicago indeed qualifies as the first skyscraper and is the harbinger of future skyscrapers. By introducing technological and associated architectural innovations in this pioneering building, its designer William Le Baron Jenney paved the way for the construction of future skyscrapers. In traditional construction, heavy masonry walls especially at lower levels did not allow large window openings in exterior walls that would permit ample daylight. For the Home Insurance Building, originally built with 10 stories, Jenney created a metal-framed skeletal structure that carried the building's loads, making the building lighter and allowed for large windows permitting ample natural light to the building's interior. The exterior iron columns were encased in relatively small masonry piers mainly for fireproofing, weather-protection and façade aesthetics. Relying on the structural framing on the building's perimeter, the exterior masonry thus turned into a rudimentary "curtain wall" system, heralding the use of curtain wall construction in future skyscrapers. This building's innovative structural system led to what is known as the "Chicago Skeleton," and eventually produced remarkable skyscrapers all over the world.

공동주택 건축물의 지하주차장 내구성 분석 및 사용자 인식 연구 - 분당 신도시를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Durability Analysis of Underground parking lot and User Awareness on apartment -Focusing on the Bundang New Town-)

  • 제 1기 신도시 중에서 분당신도시를 중심으로 거주자의 특성을 파악하고 설문조사를 실시하였으며 거주자의 신도시에 대한 인식을 분석하였다. 현장조사 대상지에서 육안검사와 일부 기기검사로 내구성을 평가하고 분석한 결과에 따르면 문제가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 공동주택의 내구연한과 사용성능을 증진시키기 위하여 지속적인 유지관리를 하여야 한다. 특히 급격한 열화 진행 부분에서 나타나고 있는 많은 균열들을 조속히 보수하여야 하며 체계적인 계획을 입안하여 진행하여야 한다. 분당 신도시 거주자의 공동주택 인식조사에서는 약 93.4%가 보통 이상의 만족도를 나타내고 있었으며 43.4%는 거주 지역에 대하여 호감을 가지고 선호하는 결과를 나타내고 있다.

노후 PSC 구조물의 잔여 긴장 응력 진단을 위한 외부 자화 EM 기법 검증 (Verification of External Magnetization based EM Technique for Diagnosing Residual Tensile Stress in Aged PSC Structures)

  • 본 연구는 현재 가설되어 가용 중인 프리스트레스트 구조물에 대해서 긴장 응력을 계측하는 방법에 관한 연구를 위해 외부 자화를 이용한 PSC 텐던의 긴장 응력 계측에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. 이에 유한요소해석을 이용하여 PSC 거더에 외부 자화 시 잔존 긴장 응력을 검출하기 위해 PSC 거더 내부의 PS 텐던까지 영향을 줄 수 있는 코일 배치 및 크기 등을 고려하여 최적의 센서를 설계하였다. 또한, 유한요소해석을 이용하여 설계한 센서와 동일한 수치 및 재질 데이터를 이용해 이론적 검증을 진행하였으며 타겟 위치에서 자화의 세기를 계산하였을 때, 유한요소해석 결과와 동일한 결과를 얻어낼 수 있었다. 이를 통해 설계한 센서의 검증 및 비 접촉 외부 자화 EM 센서를 활용하여 PSC I형 거더 내부 텐던의 자화가 가능함을 확인하였다.

의료진 교차감염을 낮추기 위한 음압격리병동 내 개인보호구 탈의구역의 공간구성 (Space planning about Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) Doffing Area to reduce cross-infection among healthcare workers)

  • Purpose: To decrease cross-infection, it's essential to analyze the spatial composition of the 'PPE doffing area'. Instead of solely relying on manpower standards, we should focus on responding to infectious diseases within the context of space planning. By doing so, we can lower the risk for healthcare workers' infection and ensure a level of safety in various environmental changes or new manpower input situations. Methods: This analysis is conducted specifically for facilities with negative pressure isolation wards. Additionally, interview surveys to obtain feedback from healthcare workers and incorporate their expertise into the design of the 'PPE doffing area' have been carried. Results: In a PPE doffing area, the standard spaces include a PPE doffing room, a shower room, and a clothing room. Depending on the facility environment or the level of infectious diseases, a Decontamination room or Anteroom can be optionally added. Healthcare workers who remove their PPE in the PPE doffing room should avoid re-entering the Negative pressure room. The shower room is often underutilized. When planning for a future PPE doffing area, an aisle space or passageway must be included even if a shower room is planned. Implications: This study examined the space used by healthcare workers rather than patients, with a focus on infection prevention through architectural planning rather than individual efforts. However, the investigation was limited to facilities that have been converted from general wards to negative pressure isolation wards, so it cannot be generalized to all infectious disease facilities.

개정 콘크리트 탄산화 내구성 설계기준의 적용상 문제점 분석 (Examining and Refining the Code for Durability Design Criteria of Concrete Carbonation)

  • 변경된 콘크리트 구조 내구성 설계기준과 콘크리트공사표준시방서에 규정된 탄산화에 대한 내구성평가와 관련된 사례를 조사하여 분석하고 실무적인 문제점을 분석한 결과 갑작스런 기준의 강화에 따른 경제적 부담이 높아졌음에도 인허가심의 과정에서의 우려로 외벽만 규정된 압축강도를 적용하고 나머지 구간에는 기존의 강도를 적용함으로써 시공성이 아주 불량해지고, 품질관리상 큰 부담이 있으며, 내구성평가기준이 모호한 한계를 극복할 수 있도록 사례를 제공하여야 할 것이며, 내구성을 확보대상을 명확히 하며, 공동주택에서 관행적인 층간 균열의 발생을 원천적으로 차단할 대책과 함께 유지관리단계의 균열관리 또한 규정에 반영하는 등 지난 2년간의 적용상 문제점을 종합적으로 분석하여 개정보완이 필요하다.

Ductility demands of steel frames equipped with self-centring fuses under near-fault earthquake motions considering multiple yielding stages

  • This paper investigates the ductility demands of steel frames equipped with self-centring fuses under near-fault earthquake motions considering multiple yielding stages. The study is commenced by verifying a trilinear self-centring hysteretic model accounting for multiple yielding stages of steel frames equipped with self-centring fuses. Then, the seismic response of single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) systems following the validated trilinear self-centring hysteretic law is examined by a parametric study using a near-fault earthquake ground motion database composed of 200 earthquake records as input excitations. Based on a statistical investigation of more than fifty-two (52) million inelastic spectral analyses, the effect of the post-yield stiffness ratios, energy dissipation coefficient and yielding displacement ratio on the mean ductility demand of the system is examined in detail. The analysis results indicate that the increase of post-yield stiffness ratios, energy dissipation coefficient and yielding displacement ratio reduces the ductility demands of the self-centring oscillators responding in multiple yielding stages. A set of empirical expressions for quantifying the ductility demands of trilinear self-centring hysteretic oscillators are developed using nonlinear regression analysis of the analysis result database. The proposed regression model may offer a practical tool for designers to estimate the ductility demand of a low-to-medium rise self-centring steel frame equipped with self-centring fuses progressing in the ultimate stage under near-fault earthquake motions in design and evaluation.
