  • The seasonal adjustment is an essential process in analyzing the time series of economy and business. One of the powerful adjustment methods is X11-ARIMA Model which is popularly used in Korea. This method was delivered from Canada. However, this model has been developed to be appropriate for Canadian and American environment. Therefore, we need to review whether the X11-ARIMA Model could be used properly in Korea. In this study, we have applied the method to the annual sales of refrigerator sales in A electronic company. We appreciated the adjustment by result analyzing the time series components such as seasonal component, trend-cycle component, and irregular component, with the proposed method. Additionally, in order to improve the result of seasonal adjusted time series, we suggest the demand forecasting method base on autocorrelation and seasonality with the X11-ARIMA PROC.

  • Digital twin has the advantages of quality improvement and cost reduction, so it is widely applied to various industries. In this paper, a method to implement the major technologies of digital twin easily and quickly is presented. These include data management and relay servers, real-time monitoring applications including remote control interfaces, and direct connection protocols for video streaming. In addition, an algorithm for controlling a two-wheeled vehicle with a 2D interface is also proposed. The implemented system performs near real-time synchronization between the real environment and the virtual space. The delay time that occurs in remote control of the vehicle in the real environment was compared with the results of applying the proposed delay time reduction method. In addition, in the case of 2D interface-based control, an algorithm that can guarantee the user experience was implemented and applied to the actual environment and verified through experiments.

  • We study the distributions of waiting times in variations of the geometric distribution of order k. Variation imposes length on the runs of successes and failures. We study two types of waiting time random variables. First, we consider the waiting time for a run of k consecutive successes the first time no sequence of consecutive k failures occurs prior, denoted by T(k). Next, we consider the waiting time for a run of k consecutive failures the first time no sequence of k consecutive successes occurred prior, denoted by J(k). In addition, we study the distribution of the weighted average. The exact formulae of the probability mass function, mean, and variance of distributions are also obtained.

  • For most of linear time-varying (LTV) systems, it is difficult to design time-varying controllers in analytic way. Accordingly, by approximating LTV systems as uncertain linear time-invariant, control design approaches such as robust control have been applied to the resulting uncertain LTI systems. In particular, a robust control method such as quantitative feedback theory (QFT) has an advantage of guaranteeing the frozen-time stability and the performance specification against plant parameter uncertainties. However, if these methods are applied to the approximated linear. time-invariant (LTI) plants with large uncertainty, the resulting control law becomes complicated and also may not become ineffective with faster dynamic behavior. In this paper, as a method to enhance the fast dynamic performance of LTV systems with bounded time-varying parameters, the approximated uncertainty of time-varying parameters are reduced by the proposed QFT parameter-scheduling control design based on radial basis function (RBF) networks.

  • Prediction of clock behaviors is necessary to generate very high stable system time which is essential for a satellite navigation system. For the purpose, we applied the Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model to the prediction of two hydrogen masers' behaviors with respect to the rapid Coordinated Universal Time (UTCr). Using the packaged programming language R, we made an analysis and prediction of time series data of [UTCr - clocks]. The maximum variation width of the residuals which were obtained by the difference between the predicted and measured values, was 6.2 ns for 106 days. This variation width was just one-sixth of [UTCr-UTC (KRIS)] published by the BIPM for the same period. Since the two hydrogen masers were found to be strongly correlated, we applied the Vector Auto-Regressive Moving Average (VARMA) model for more accurate prediction. The result showed that the prediction accuarcy was improved by two times for one hydrogen maser.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate Raphanus sativus extracts to methane reduction in rumen. Five different levels of R. sativus extracts were used to investigate the most effective dosing level for the decrease of methane production in the rumen. The rumen fluid was collected from a cannulated one Hanwoo cow ($BW=450{\pm}30kg$) consuming 600 g/kg timothy and 400 g/kg concentrate. On fermentation day, rumen fluid was collected at 2 hr postfeeding R. sativus extracts was dosed to achieve final concentration of 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9% respectively, to fermentation bottles containing the mixture of rumen fluid and McDougall's buffer and 300 mg of timothy was added as a substrate. The fermentation was conducted for 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hr incubation time at $39^{\circ}C$ with shaking. In vitro ruminal pH values were measured normal range for ruminal fermentation. Dry matter disappearance was significantly higher (p<0.05) at 3 hr incubation time 1, 3 and 5% doses than that of control. The highest methane reduction was observed in 12 hr incubation time 5, 7 and 9%. The carbon dioxide emission was also significantly (p<0.05) lower than that of control at 12 hr incubation time 5, 7 and 9%. The total volatile fatty acid was no significant difference between control and all doses level at 12 and 24 hr incubation time. At 24 hr incubation time, the result of real-time PCR were indicated that M. archea was significantly lower (p<0.05) at all doses level comparing to that of control. In conclusion, R. sativus extracts were significantly decreased methane emission. R. sativus extracts were significantly lower (p<0.05) than that of control at 12 hr incubation time 5, 7 and 9% and no adversely effect in rumen pH, dry matter disappearance and total VFA.

  • Our previous study showed that isoflavone profile of soybean undergoes a significant change during cheonggukjang preparation. In particular, the content of metabolite(s) with similar retention time to glycitein under the high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) condition was significantly increased while the levels of genistein and its derivatives were notably lowered. Therefore, we hypothesized that genistein and its derivatives might be converted to genistein glucosides with similar elution time to glycitein. Our current data suggest that genistein and its derivatives are extensively metabolized into various compounds including genistein glycosides, but not glycitein or its derivatives, by Bacillus species isolated from traditional cheonggukjang. Some of daidzein was also converted into a derivative with shorter retention time by Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 51 and 86-1 but not by Bacillus subtilis 3-5 and 3-17. As metabolism of soy isoflavones, major health-promoting components in soy products, is widely variable depending upon Bacillus species, it is essential to select microorganism that minimizes the breakdown or modification of soy isoflavones in the process of fermented soy product manufacture.

  • Response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to determine the optimum drying conditions for pork jerky. The physicochemical properties of pork jerky, such as final moisture content, water activity (Aw), pH, and shear force were investigated. In addition, sensory characteristics of pork jerky were evaluated and were used as a parameter for determining the optimum condition. Pork jerky samples were dried at different temperatures between 40 to $80^{\circ}C$ for the time ranged from 0 to 10 hr. The predicted values for moisture content, Aw, and shear force of dried pork samples were in good agreement with the experimental values with correlation coefficients ($R^2$) of 0.95, 0.96, and 0.97, respectively. Both drying temperature and time significantly (p<0.01) affected moisture content, Aw, pH, and shear force and their interactions were also significant at p<0.01 except for Aw. RSM showed the optimum drying conditions for pork jerky, based on moisture content, shear force, and sensory evaluation to be oC$65-70^{\circ}C$ for 7-8 hr.

  • In this paper, we analyze a time-based update method in location management and calculate the optimal time-interval. The probability that an MT is j rings away from the center cell is obtained by computer programming. And using these values, an exact analysis is made for the time-based location management cost. From the result, when the time-based method is applied to location update, we can get the optimal time-interval which minimizes the location management cost.

  • The paper attempts to estimate the incubation time of a cavity in the interface between a power law creep particle and an elastic matrix subjected to a uniaxial stress. Since the power law creep particle is time dependent, the stresses in the interface relax. The volume free energy associated with Helmholtz free energy includes strain energies caused by applied stress and dislocations piled up in interface(DPI). The energy due to DPI is found by modifying the result of Dundurs and Mura[4]. The volume free energies caused by both applied stress and DPI are a function of the cavity size(r) and elapsed time(t) and arise from stress relaxation in the interface. Critical radius $r^*$ and incubation time $t^*$ to maximise Helmholtz free energy is found in present analysis. Also, kinetics of cavity formation are investigated using the results obtained by Riede [7]. The incubation time is defined in the analysis as the time required to satisfy both the thermodynamic and kinetic conditions. Through the analysis it is found that 1) strain energy caused by the applied stress does not contribute significantly to the thermodynamic and kinetic conditions of a cavity formation, 2) in order to satisfy both thermodynamic and kinetic conditions, critical radius $r^*$ decreases or holds constant with increase of the time until the kinetic condition(eq. 2.3) is satisfied. there for the cavity may not grow right after it is formed, as postulated by Harris [15], and Ishida and Mclean [16], 3) the effects of strain rate exponent (m), material constant $\sigma$0, volume fraction of the particle to matrix(f)and particle size on the incubation time are estimated using material constants of the copper as matrix.
