  • This paper presents a case study in which a lesson was designed and applied to enhance preservice home economics teachers' instructional design competence using the metaverse. For 15 weeks from March 6 to June 14, 14 students enrolled on the course 'Multimedia Home Economics Education' for preservice home economics teachers used the metaverse to engage in problem-based learning to solve instructional design problems in home economics classes. In accordance with the ADDIE design model, in the analysis stage, we assessed preservice home economics teachers' level of knowledge of lessons using the metaverse, and their perceptions of the possibility, necessity, and usefulness of using the metaverse in home economics lessons. In the design and development stage, lesson plans, questions for problem-based learning, assessment tools, and teaching and learning materials were developed. The implementation was conducted in parallel with training on understanding multimedia and the metaverse, and instructional design competence was evaluated through pre- and post-testing and reflection journals. The results revealed that the preservice home economics teachers acquired a good understanding of lessons using the metaverse, learned how to design lessons for self-directed learning by applying the metaverse to their home and classroom, and gained confidence in applying it to their teaching practice or in-service work. It is expected that the results of this study will be used as support materials for prospective and current home economics teachers to design home economics lessons using the metaverse, thereby expanding the horizons of home economics education.

  • PURPOSE: The present study was conducted to improve the understanding of the Korean Standard Functional, Disability, and Health Classification (KCF) and its ease of use in the clinical domain of the musculoskeletal system by comparing, analyzing, and linking the KCF codes with items from patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), which are currently mainly used to evaluate patients with neck, shoulder, waist, and knee pain. METHODS: The items of the most widely used PROMs, the Neck Disability Index (NDI), Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) scores, Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), and the codes of the KCF were linked by two experts according to the linking rules. RESULTS: The concordance between the items of each of the PROMs and the KCF code linked by the two experts was NDI,86.4%86.4%, DASH 83.3%, ODI 92.0%, and WOMAC 80.7%. The NDI, DASH, and WOMAC indexes were found to comprise items corresponding to physical function, activity, and participation areas, and were linked to 22, 43, and 31 KCF codes, respectively. In addition to these two areas, the ODI included items related to environmental factors and was linked to 25 codes (duplicated codes are treated as one). CONCLUSION: This research can be used by adding the KCF code to the questions of the currently used evaluation tool. This coding can be easily applied and will contribute to the easy understanding of the KCF.

  • Along with the rapid development of the database technology, as well as the widespread application of the database management systems are more and more large. Now the data mining technology has already been applied in scientific research, financial investment, market marketing, insurance and medical health and so on, and obtains widespread application. We discuss data mining technology and analyze the questions of it. Therefore, the research in a new data mining method has important significance. Some literatures did not consider the differences between attributes, leading to redundancy when constructing concept lattices. The paper proposes a new method of uncertain data mining based on the concept lattice of connotation difference degree (c_diff). The method defines the two rules. The construction of a concept lattice can be accelerated by excluding attributes with poor discriminative power from the process. There is also a new technique of calculating c_diff, which does not scan the full database on each layer, therefore reducing the number of database scans. The experimental outcomes present that the proposed method can save considerable time and improve the accuracy of the data mining compared with U-Apriori algorithm.
