Iontophoretic Transport of GHRP-6 (성장호르몬방출펩타이드-6 (GHRP-6)의 경피투과)

  • The purpose of this study is to characterize the iontophoretic transport of growth hormone releasing peptides (GHRP-6) through hairless mouse skin from aqueous solution. The effect of various factors, such as pH, poloarity, current profile, current density, current duration, ionic strength, drug concentration, and enhancer application was studied to obtain basic knowledge on the transport. We have also studied the stability of GHRP-6 in solution with/without current. The donor chamber was filled with phosphate buffer solution containing GHRP-6 and the receptor chamber was filled with phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.4). Ag/AgCl electrode was used for their stability and reversibility. At a predetermined time interval, sampling was made and the concentration of drug was analysed using HPLC system. The results showed that, compared to passive flux, the total amount of drug transported increased markedly by the application of anodal current. Cathodal flux was similar to passive flux. Flux increased with the current density, the duration of current application and drug concentration. The effect of enhancers on the flux was studied using hydrophilic (5% N-methyl pyrrolidone) and hydrophobic (5% propylene glycol monolaurate, 5% oleic acid) enhancers. Application of enhancer also increased the flux.

Effect of Organic Matter Application on Heavy Metal Uptake of Infant Rice Seedling (어린모의 중금속(重金屬) 흡수(吸收)에 미치는 유기물(有機物) 시용(施用) 효과(效果))

  • To investigate effects of organic matter application on heavy metal uptake of infant rice seeding, the various amount of organic matter(peat and $Bio-com^{(R)}$)was applied on Cd or Cu treated nursery bed soil. No growth difference was observed up to 20mg/kg of Cu treatment. Above 20mg/kg of Cu treatment, the seeding height and top dry weight were decreased but the Cu uptake by seeding was increased with increasing Cu treatment level. The mat formation was poor above 20mg/kg of Cu treatment, however, the seeding peat application level. All peat treatment resulted better mat formation than control. The seeding height and top dry increasing Cd treatment level. The mat formation was not effected by either Cd treatment level or organic matter sources. The effect of peat and $Bio-com{(R)}$ application on Cd uptake by infant rice seeding was not observed at all Cd treatments level.

The Effect of the Gypsum Application on the Composition of Nitrogen and Sulfur Compounds in Mixed Pasture and on the Sulfur Balance in Soil (혼파초지에서 Gypsum 처리가 목초의 질소 및 황화합물조성과 토양중 황균형에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of gypsum application was tested on dry matter yield, sulfur uptaken, composition of Ritrogen compound and sulhr compound and sulfur balance in mixed pasture. Total dry matter yields and sulfur uptake by grasses increased with the increasing of gypsum application rates. The ratios between total nitrogen and total sulfur in masses decreased with the increase of sulfur uptake at 2nd and 3rd cutting times. Cysteine content was little affected by gypsum while methionine content slightly increased an 4.0, 6.0 kg3 per 10a levels at 2nd and 3rd cutting times. The uptake of nitrate nitrogen decreased with gypsum application and dry matter digestibility increased about 1.1 to 3.3%. The soil pHs after experiment become high in surface and subsoil till 6.0 kg.S per 10a, but low at 10.0 kg.S per 10a. The content of sulfur in surface soil was 19.9 ppm after experiment, but very high in subsoi1,ranging from 94 to 143 ppm.S. Sulfur leached from the surface soil by 0.69, 2.39, and 6.24 kg.S per 10a in the plots of 4.0, 6.0, and 10.0 kg.S per 10a, respectively.

  • When it comes to the training program conducted by company to improve job performance ability, it would be not a investment but a waste if the training contents is not practically applied to the business accomplishment. Even though some people raise a question on the job application of postal distance training, funded by employment insurance, the study on the job application of postal distance training shows that the components of the training program have a positive effect on it and the model has 60.5% validity. Moreover, its control effect on environmental support and individual characteristics has been partially established. The study has been conducted by questioning survey with the employees who completed a postal education 3 months ago. With the result, we can find that the postal distance training benefits employees to improve their job performance abilities and expect that it continuously plays a crucial role in the field of company training through the development of high-quality training programs.

Effect of Silicate Application on the Reduction of Summer Drought Phenomenon of Orchardgrass(Dactylis glomerata L.) (오챠드그라스의 하고 경감에 미치는 규산 시용의 효과)

  • To clarify the effect of silicate application on the reduction of summer drought damage of orchardgrass, a pot experiment treated with 3 levels of available SiO$_2$ 100(control), 150, and 200 ppm was carried out in the phytotron, and field experiment in the medium textured hilly soils also was carried out. The plant height and weight of orchardgrass grown in the pots were increased with increasing of SiO$_2$ application, and the higher content of SiO$_2$ in plant became erect types of leaves with low ethylene evolution. With application of SiO$_2$ in the hilly soils, the reduction of summer drought phenomenon was recognized by the increasing 9% in yield with decreased ethylene evolution at summer drought stage but the nutritive values of the plant were not deteriorated.

Effect of a New Developed Physical Restraint to Reduce Skin Injury in Intensive Care Units (중환자실에서 피부손상을 감소시키기 위한 억제대 개발 및 적용효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study were to develop a new restraint for the intensive care units (ICU) and to investigate the application effect in comparison with a control group using existing restraints. Method: A non-equivalent control group non-synchronized quasi-experimental research design was used. The participants were 40 (control 20, experimental 20) patients who were recruited by convenience sampling the ICU of a university hospital. To avoid contamination of the experiment, data for the control group were collected prior to the experimental group. Measurement variables were edema and skin damage (redness and abrasion) at the application site, and nurses' perceived convenience in applying restraints. Results: Three days after applying the restraint, amount of edema at the application site was small and incidence of skin damage decreased in the experimental group in comparison with the control group. Also, score for application convenience measured by the nurses was higher in for the newly developed restraint than for existing restraints. Conclusion: Results indicate that the newly developed restraint has lower effects such as edema and skin damage and is more convenient compared with existing restraints, and is therefore recommended for patients in the ICU.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the application method of universal adhesives on the shear bond strength (SBS) of repaired composites, applied with different thicknesses. Materials and Methods: The 84 specimens (Filtek Z350 XT) were prepared, stored in distilled water for a week and thermocycled (5,000 cycles, 5℃ to 55℃). They were roughened using 400-grit sandpapers and etched with phosphoric acid. Then, specimens were equally divided into 2 groups; Single Bond Universal (SU) and Prime&Bond Universal (PB). Each group was subdivided into 3 subgroups according to application methods (n = 14); UC: 1 coat + uncuring, 1C: 1 coat + curing, 3C: 3 coats + curing. After storage of the repaired composite for 24 hours, specimens were subjected to the SBS test and the data were statistically analyzed by 2-way analysis of variance and independent t-tests. Specimens were examined with a stereomicroscope to analyze fracture mode and a scanning electron microscope to observe the interface. Results: Adhesive material was a significant factor (p = 0.001). Bond strengths with SU were higher than PB. The highest strength was obtained from the 1C group with SU. Bonding in multiple layers increased adhesive thicknesses, but there was no significant difference in SBS values (p = 0.255). Failure mode was predominantly cohesive in old composites. Conclusions: The application of an adequate bonding system plays an important role in repairing composite resin. SU showed higher SBS than PB and the additional layers increased the adhesive thickness without affecting SBS.

Clinical effect of 3.0% Hydrogen peroxide bleaching patch with primer (프라이머를 이용한 3.0% 과산화수소 미백 패치의 임상효과)

  • Purpose The The purpose of this study was to clinically evaluate the efficacy and safety of a self-whitening patch containing a primer containing taurine and 3.0% hydrogen peroxide. Methods A double-blind randomized clinical trial was conducted on 55 subjects. The whitening patches containing 3.0% hydrogen peroxide were applied to the labial surfaces of maxillary six anterior teeth once daily for 30 minutes using a primer, and whitening efficacy was measured by △E* values before application and at 3, 5, 7, and 10 days after application. Stability was determined using the Gingival index (GI) and visual analogue scale (VAS). Results Changes in △E* values were clinically recognizable as early as day 5 after patch application, and whitening effects were visible by day 7. There was no statistically significant difference in gingival index (p=0.069). Conclusions Self-whitening patches using primer and 3.0% hydrogen peroxide applied once daily for 30 minutes showed effective whitening effect from the 5th day after application and could be used safely without significant side effects.

Effect of Nitrogen Split Application on Growth and Yield in Direct Seeding Rice on Flooded Paddy (담수직파재배시(湛水直播栽培時) 질소분시방법(窒素分施方法)에 따른 벼 생육(生育)과 수량성(收量性))

  • To investigate the effect of N split application on the increasing ratio of yield and the yield of rice, urea and slow-releasing complex for sideband placement of fertilizer were applied in Jeonbuk series of Honam plain area. Increasing ratio of yield by N split application was higher in puddled drill seeding (PDS) than flooded direct seeding surface (FDSS) under split application of 40-0-30-30% and 70-0-0-30% at basal, 3 leaf, 5 leaf and panicle initiation stage, respectively. It was also higher in LCU application of 70 % of total urea amount than urea application but was not different between two methods of seeding in urea application. Nitrogen ratio transfered to rough grain of rice was higher in FDSS than PDS, errespective of methed of split application, except for the split application of 0, 40, 30 and 30% N fertilizer at basal, 3 leaf, 5 leaf and panicle initiation stage, respectively. Nitrogen amount outflowed by artificial drainage for paddy field drying in a day after application of fertilizer was 1,134g/10a in PDS. $NH_4-N$ incerased higher in PDS than FDSS under split application of urea, while was versa under LCU application.

Effect of Water Treatment Sludge Application on the Growth of Altari Radish(Raphanus sativus L.) (알타리무우 생육(生育)에 대한 정수(淨水) 슬러지의 시용효과(施用効果))

  • In order to know the effect of sludge from water treatment plants un agricultural environment, an experiment of water treatment sludge application for Altari radish (Raphanus sativus L.) was carried out. And the results were as follows ; 1. The pH of water treatment sludge was 7.2, which was higher than that of the experimental soil. The exchangeable Ca content in the sludge was very high being 29me/100g sludge. So when the sludge was applied to the soil, amending effect for soil acidity was supposed. 2. With the application of the water treatment sludge to the soil, soil pH and organic matter content were increased. With the increase of the level of sludge application, contents of crude fiber and Ca in Altari radish were increased, white those of P and Mg tended to decrease. 3. The length of the root and the amount of fresh yield of the whole plant of radish tended to increase with the increase of sludge application, and this tendency was more evident on the infertile soil. From the above results, it was concluded that the fresh yield of Altari radish increased up to 75ton/ha sludge application on the fertile soil, but the yield decreased when higher levels of sludge was applied. While on the infertile soil, the yield increased up to the application of 300ton/ha, and the heavier application level did not adversely affect the yield of Altari radish.
