  • In this paper, we designed the microstrip patch antenna with L-shaped aperture, which greatly enhances its bandwidth. We optimized to get a maximum bandwidth. The microstrip patch antenna with L-shaped aperture has the widest bandwidth of the conventional aperture coupled microstrip patch antenna. This antenna also has the low-cross polarization level. The effects of changing several key design parameters of the antenna are investigated. We calculated the VSWR, input impedance, and radiation pattern.

A Miniaturized Aperture-Coupled Multilayer Hairpin Bandpass Filter

  • In this paper, we introduce a coupling, which is achieved through the aperture instead of the conventional edge coupling, so that the bandpass filter is reduced less than half in size compared to conventional planar type. The resulting filter configuration has a near two-fold symmetry, where the aperture coupling is used in the middle of the coupling stages. We designed a bandpass filter using two tapped hairpin resonators, of which the order becomes four. The designed bandpass filter has the size of $8.9{\times}18.3\;mm$. It has the return loss better than 17dB and the insertion loss of less than 5 dB in overall passband. The measured results show good agreements with simulated ones.

  • 본 논문에서는 개구결합 원형편파 마이크로스트립 배열안테나를 제안하였다. 제안한 안테나는 2.4GHz ISM 대역용이고 개구모양은 변형된 H형 슬롯을 사용하였다. 전자파 해석 툴인 HFSS를 반복적으로 사용하여 최적의 안테나 설계 파라미터 값을 찾았다. 배열안테나의 반사손실, 축비, 방사패턴 및 이득을 단일안테나와 비교하였다. 제안한 배열안테나가 2.4GHz ISM 대역 등 여러 분야에서 충분히 사용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • A novel planar polarization-agile microstrip subarray is proposed and its performance assessed by a thorough numerical investigation. The subarray consists of five square patches with a central element, directly coupled to a pair of microstrip feed lines by a cross-shaped aperture, which spreads the power outwards to the other patches through a network of suitable connections. By properly exciting the antenna at its input ports, any kind of polarization of the radiated field can be accomplished with fairly low cross-polarization levels. Moreover, since only two feed lines are required to drive the whole subarray, polarization agility is simply and attractively achieved by a single phase-shift circuit. The design concept is described and the results of the analyses and simulations performed by two completely independent full-wave approaches are presented and discussed.

  • We proposed a $4{\times}8$ array antenna with aperture-coupled patch antenna elements. The antenna was designed for 60 GHz operation and fabrication on the low-temperature cofired ceramic(LTCC) substrate($\varepsilon_r$=5.8). The feedline with the stub was designed to enhance the radiating element bandwidth and the transition characteristics between the waveguide (WG) and microstrip line(MSL). Through the optimization of the antenna and feedline geometry, the antenna gain and the performance of the 10 dB bandwidth were 20.2 dBi and 13 % up, respectively. The measured results agreed with the simulated ones.

  • 위성통신용 Ka-Band 마이크로스트립 배열안테나를 설계.제작하였다. 방사소자는 개구결합 급전 방법을 이용하여 해석하였으며. 전력분배기는 $\lambda$ g/4 변환기와 T-junction 전력분배기를 이용하여 설계하였다. 제안된 이론에 의해 공진주파수 20 GHz인 $2\times2$ 마이크로스트립 배열 안테나를 제작.실험하여 공진 주파수 19.62 G GHz. VSWR 1.0692. 반사손실 29.6ldB. 대역폭(VSWR(2) 1.76 GHz. -3 dB 빔폭 $42^{\circ}$ 을 얻었다.

개구면 결합 급전 방식의 이중 빔 마이크로스트립 배열 안테나의 설계 (Design of an Aperture-Coupled Dual Beam Microstrip Array Antenna)

  • 본 논문은 10GHz 에서 동작하는 마이크로스트립 $18\times2$ 이중 빔 배열 안테나를 설계 하였다. 단일 복사 소자는 개구면 결합형 패치를 사용하였으며, 이를 전송선 모델을 이용하여 해석 하였다. 급전선은 Side Lobe Level(SLL)를 줄이기 위해 tapered 직-병렬 구조를 사용하였다. 또한 45도에서 이중 빔을 갖게 하기 위해 소자간에 180도 위상차를 주었다. 그 결과 SLL은 25dB를 가지며, $\pm44.5$도에서 두개의 빔을 갖게 되며 8도의 좁은 빔폭을 갖는다.

Development of hand-held coded-aperture gamma ray imaging system based on GAGG(Ce) scintillator coupled with SiPM array

  • Emerging gamma ray detection applications that utilize neutron-based interrogation result in the prompt emission of high-energy (>2 MeV) gamma-rays. Rapid imaging is enabled by scintillators that possess high density, high atomic number, and excellent energy resolution. In this paper, we evaluate the bright (50,000 photons/MeV) oxide scintillator, cerium-doped Gd2Al2Ga3O12 (GAGG(Ce)). A silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) array is coupled to a GAGG(Ce) scintillator array (12 × 12 pixels) and integrated into a coded-aperture based gamma-ray imaging system. A resistor-based symmetric charge division circuit was used reduce the multiplicity of the analog outputs from 144 to 4. The developed system exhibits 9.1%, 8.3%, and 8.0% FWHM energy resolutions at 511 keV, 662 keV, and 1173.2 keV, respectively. In addition, a pixel-identification resolution of 602 ㎛ FWHM was obtained from the GAGG(Ce) scintillator array.

  • 본 논문에서는 그라운드변 상의 개구를 통해 마이크로스트립 패치로 결합을 일으키는 구조를 갖는 PCS 기지 국용 정형 빔 배열 안테나 설계와 제작에 관하여 다룬다. 최적의 정형 빔 패턴은 안테나 합성법으로 얻어졌다. 배 열된 패치들 사이에서의 결합을 고려한 배열 안테나와 급전회로는 CAD tool을 이용하여 설계되었다. 급전 회로 는 최적의 정형 빔 패턴을 얻기 위해서 Wilkinson 전력 분배기를 이용하여 설계되었다. 설계 결과와 측정 결과가 비교되어진다.

무인 항공기 탑재용 Ku대역 안테나에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ku-band Antenna for Mounting on UAV)

  • In this paper, we proposed a Ku-band antenna that can be mounted on UAV. A proposed antenna structure has small size and light weight. It is considered long distance communication environment(LOS) and equipped UAV. Proposed antenna is designed $16{\times}2$ aperture coupled microstrip patch array antenna for high gain characteristics. In the measurement results, VSWR is less than 1.5 and the gain is over 21dBi in the bandwidth. Mechanical specifications of antenna assembly are ${\phi}250{\times}200mm$ of size and 3kg of weight.
