독도 괴상 응회질 각력암층에서 나타나는 화산암편의 암석학적 특성과 기원 (Petrological Characteristics and Origin of Volcaniclasts within the Massive Tuff Breccia Formation from Dokdo Island, Korea)

  • 독도 괴상 응회질 각력암층의 다양한 화산암편에 대한 암석기재 및 지구화학 자료를 바탕으로 초기 수중 독도 화산체의 특성과 그에 대한 기원 및 진화에 대해 연구하였다. 야외지질조사 및 주원소 분석결과 동, 서도 간의 괴상 응회질 각력암층은 다소 상이한 특성이 나타난다. 동도의 경우 괴상 응회질 각력암층은 해안 절벽을 따라 대략 40-50 m 고도까지 노출되어 있으며 암편으로는 현무암과 조면현무암이 우세하고, 조면암 및 스코리아 등도 상당부분 포함 되어 있다. 반면, 서도의 경우 어업민 숙소 부근의 조면안산암과 조면암맥에 암편이 포유되거나 물골 쪽에 소규모로 분포하는데 현무암, 조면현무암, 조면암의 비율이 비슷한 것이 특징이다. 이것은 분화구 위치에 따른 차이와 하부 조면암 용암이 분출할 당시의 해수면에 대한 지형적인 차이로 인해 각력암의 퇴적양상이 달라졌기 때문으로 해석된다. 미량원소 분석 결과에 의하면 동도 조면암편의 Ba와 Sr은 66-103 ppm, 45-56 ppm인 반면 서도 조면암편은 각각 785-1259 ppm, 466-1230 ppm을 보여 동, 서도의 차이가 인지된다. 이러한 차이는 동일층 내에서의 층위 차이 혹은 P, Ti의 함량 차이와 더불어 알칼리장석, 준장석류, 흑운모, 인회석 혹은 티탄철석의 정출이 차별적으로 진행된 암석학적 차이를 의미한다. 하지만 $(La/Yb)_N$값은 동도에서 23.9-40.2, 서도에서 27.4-32.9로 거의 같은 범위로 나타나고 LREE, HREE의 패턴으로 미루어 보아 동, 서도의 차이는 동원마그마 내의 부분적인 조성 차이임을 시사한다. Ba, K, Rb의 부화는 섭입시 변성교대작용에 의해서 발생한 유체와 맨틀 업웰링(mantle upwelling)에 기인한 마그마와 상호작용에 의해서 생성된 것으로 해석된다.

삼광 금-은 광상의 엽리상 석영맥에서 산출되는 백색운모와 철백운석의 산상 및 화학조성 (Occurrence and Chemical Composition of White Mica and Ankerite from Laminated Quartz Vein of Samgwang Au-Ag Deposit, Republic of Korea)

  • 삼광 금-은 광상은 과거에 한국에서 가장 큰 금-은 광상들 중의 하나이다. 이 광상 주변지질은 선캠브리아기의 변성퇴적암류와 이를 부정합으로 피복한 쥐라기 백운사층으로 구성된다. 이 광상은 선캠브리아기의 변성퇴적암류내에 발달된 열극대를 충진한 8개조의 석영맥으로 구성된 조산형 금-은 광상이다. 이 광상에는 일반적으로 엽리상 석영맥이 관찰되며 석영, 철백운석, 백색운모, 녹니석, 인회석, 금홍석, 유비철석, 섬아연석, 황동석 및 방연석 등으로 구성된다. 엽리상 석영맥과 모암변질에서 산출되는 백색운모의 화학조성은 (K1.02-0.82Na0.02-0.00Ca0.00)(Al1.73-1.58Mg0.26-0.16Fe0.23-0.10Mn0.00Ti0.03-0.01Cr0.01-0.00)(Si3.35-3.22Al0.79-0.65)O10(OH)2 및 (K0.75-0.67Na0.01Ca0.00) (Al1.78-1.74Mg0.16-0.15Fe0.15-0.13Mn0.00Ti0.04-0.02Cr0.01-0.00)(Si3.33-3.26Al0.74-0.67)O10(OH)2로써 엽리상 석영맥에서 산출되는 백색운모에서 층간 양이온(K+Na+Ca)과 팔면체 자리에서의 Fe+Mg+Mn+Ti 함량이 높게 산출된다. 이 광상의 엽리상 석영맥에서 산출되는 백색운모의 화학조성 변화는 팬자이틱 또는 Tschermark 치환((Al3+)VI+(Al3+)IV <-> (Fe2+ 또는 Mg2+)VI+(Si4+)IV) 및 직접적인 (Fe3+)VI <-> (Al3+)VI 치환에 의해 일어났음을 알 수 있다. 엽리상 석영맥에서 산출되는 철백운석은 결정방향에 따라 서로 다른 상들이 교호하며 산출되며 이들 상들에서는 FeO 및 MgO 함량 변화가 관찰된다. 따라서 삼광 금-은 광상의 엽리상 석영맥 형성은 조산형 금은 광상의 형성 시 주 광화시기인 연성전단(ductile shear) 시기에 형성되었음을 알 수 있다.

전주 남부지역 쥬라기 화강암질 저반체의 지열사와 융기사: 피션트랙 열연대학적 해석 (Thermal and Uplift Histories of the Jurassic Granite Batholith in Southern Jeonju: Fission-track Thermochronological Analyses)

  • 옥천대 남서부인 전주-김제-정읍일대 쥬라기 화강암질 저반체로부터 구한 FT 연대는 넓은 범위에 걸쳐 나타난다: 스핀=158~70 Ma; 저콘=127~71 Ma; 인회석=72~46 Ma. 교란되지 않은 일차냉각 및 리셋 또는 부분감소된 FT 연대, 그리고 일부 트랙 길이 측정자료에 기반한 열연대학적 해석을 통해 화강암체가 겪은 복잡한 지열사를 규명하였다. 이 화강암체의 전체 냉각사는 정출 후 $300^{\circ}C$ 등온선까지의 비교적 빠른 전기 냉각(${\sim}20^{\circ}C/Ma$)과 $300^{\circ}C-200^{\circ}C-100^{\circ}C$ 등온선을 거쳐 현재 지표온도에 이르기까지의 매우 느린 후기 냉각($2.0{\sim}1.5^{\circ}C/Ma$)으로 특징지어진다. 이 쥬라기 화강암체의 많은 부분은 일련의 후기 백악기 화성활동에 의해 적어도 $170^{\circ}C$ 이상(최고 >$330^{\circ}C$)의 다양한 수준에 달하는 지열상승을 겪은 것으로 확인되었다. 다양한 후기 화성암체들의 두 지점으로부터 중복측정된 FT 저콘 연대의 일치된 결과는 그들의 생성시기를 잘 정의한다: 석영반암=$73{\pm}3Ma$; 섬록암=$73{\pm}2Ma$; 유문암=$72{\pm}3Ma$; 장석반암=$78{\pm}4Ma$ (전체 가중평균=$73{\pm}3Ma$). 이들 후기 화성암체와 페그마타이트 암맥군의 관입은 온천개발지역(화심, 죽림, 목욕리, 회봉 등)을 위시한 연구지역 내에서의 후기 지열상승에 주요 역할을 하였던 것으로 해석된다. 이 화강암 저반체의 후기냉각이 지표면의 침식-삭박에 따른 상대적 융기에 의해 근본적으로 규제되었다고 가정하면, 전기 백악기 이후의 융기는 연간 평균 약 0.05 mm (즉 백만 년에 약 50 m)의 매우 느린 속도로 진행되었다. 100 Ma, 70 Ma, 40 Ma를 기준으로 현재까지의 총융기량은 각각 5 km, 3.5 km, 2 km 정도로 추정된다. 여러 지점의 일정한 융기량은 암체 전체가 광역적으로 고르게 융기하였음을 지시한다.

중국 젠지고우 연-아연 광상의 돌로마이트 산상과 화학조성 (Occurrence and Chemical Composition of Dolomite from Zhenzigou Pb-Zn Deposit, China)

  • 젠지고우 연-아연 광상은 중국 동북지역에선 가장 규모가 큰 연-아연 광상 중의 하나로 지체구조상 Jiao Liao Ji belt내 Qingchengzi mineral field에 위치한다. 이 광상의 주변지질은 시생대의 그래뉼라이트(granulite)와 이를 관입한 고원생대의 미그마타이트질 화강암과 고-중원생대의 소딕(sodic) 화강암을 부정합으로 피복한 고원생대의 Liaohe 층군 및 이들을 관입한 중생대의 섬록암과 몬조나이틱 화강암으로 구성된다. 이 광상은 고원생대의 Liaohe 층군내 Langzishan 층 및 Dashiqiao 층내에서 층상 광체 및 맥상 광체로 산출되며 층준규제 퇴적분기형 또는 퇴적분기형 광상에 해당된다. 이 광상에서 산출되는 돌로마이트들은 산출 광물조합 및 정출순서를 기초로 1)모암인 돌로마이트(D0), 2)녹색편암상의 변성작용에 의한 층상 광체내 돌로마이트(백색운모, 석영, 칼리장석, 섬아연석, 방연석, 황철석, 유비철석)(D1) 및 3)석영맥과 함께 산출되는 맥상 광체내 돌로마이트(석영, 인회석, 황철석)(D2)로 산출된다. 이들 돌로마이트의 화학조성은 각각 Ca1.00-1.03Mg0.94-0.98Fe0.00-0.06 As0.00-0.01(CO3)2(D0), Ca0.97-1.16Mg0.32-0.83Fe0.10-0.50Mn0.01-0.12Zn0.00-0.01Pb0.00-0.03As0.00-0.01(CO3)2(D1), Ca1.00-1.01Mg0.85-0.92Fe0.06-0.11Mn0.01-0.03As0.01(CO3)2(D2)로써 이론적인 돌로마이트의 화학조성보다 미량원소들의 함량이 높다. 특히, 이들 돌로마이트내 FeO 및 MnO 함량은 각각 0.05-2.06 wt.%, 0.00-0.08 wt.%(D0), 3.53-17.22 wt.%, 0.49-3.71 wt.%(D1) 및 2.32-3.91 wt.%, 0.43-0.95 wt.%(D2)로써 층상 광체에서 산출되는 돌로마이트(D1)에서 높은 함량을 갖는다. 또한 다른 미량원소들은 ZnO, As2O5, PbO, Sb2O5 및 HfO2 원소들이 소량 함유되며 단지층상 광체에서 산출되는 돌로마이트(D1)에서 ZnO 및 PbO 원소들의 함량이 다소 높게 나타난다. 젠지고우 연-아연 광상의 Do 및 D2는 Ferroan 돌로마이트에 해당되며 D1는 철백운석(ankerite)과 Ferroan 돌로마이트에 해당된다. 따라서 1)모암에서 산출되는 돌로마이트(D0)는 고원생대의 Jiao Liao Ji 분지내 해양증발석호(marine evaporative lagoon) 환경에서 퇴적된 Ferroan 돌로마이트, 2)층상 광체내 돌로마이트(D1)는 고원생대의 화성활동 및 녹색편암상의 변성작용에 의한 열수교대작용으로 의한 돌로마이트화작용에 의해 형성된 철백운석(ankerite) 및 Ferroan 돌로마이트 및 3)맥상 광체내 돌로마이트(D2)는 중생대의 화성활동에 수반된 열수용액에 의해 형성된 Ferroan 돌로마이트이다.

충남 태안 철마산 일대의 지질 및 희토류 광화작용 (REE Mineralization and Geology of Chulmasan Area, Taean, Chungchungnamdo)

  • 철마산 일대의 지질은 하부로부터 선캠브리아기의 소근리층, 화강암질편마암, 엽리상 흑운모화강암, 엽리상 운모화강암, 염기성암맥 및 산성암맥으로 구성된다. 이 일대의 희토류 광화작용은 화강암질편마암과 엽리상 운모화강암에서 관찰된다. 이들 암석에서 소량 희토류 원소 및 토륨을 함유한 광물들은 저어콘($Y_2O_3$ 0.00~1.18 wt.%, $Gd_2O_3$ 0.00~0.59 wt.%, $Er_2O_3$ 0.00~0.22 wt.%, $Yb_2O_3$ 0.00~0.34 wt.%, $Lu_2O_3$ 0.00~0.48 wt.%, $ThO_2$ 0.00~0.33 wt.%), 토리아나이트($Nd_2O_3$ 0.00~0.24 wt.%, $Lu_2O_3$ 0.00~0.26 wt.%), 베르시에린($La_2O_3$ 0.04~0.26 wt.%, $Nd_2O_3$ 0.00~0.20 wt.%, $Tb_2O_3$ 0.04~0.12 wt.%, $Dy_2O_3$ 0.17~0.26 wt.%, $Er_2O_3$ 0.33~0.44 wt.%, $Lu_2O_3$ 0.00~0.19 wt.%, $ThO_2$ 0.61~0.93 wt.%), 녹니석($La_2O_3$ 0.44~0.68 wt.%, $Ce_2O_3$ 0.12~0.13 wt.%, $Nd_2O_3$ 0.31~0.44 wt.%, $Eu_2O_3$ 0.03~0.08 wt.%, $Dy_2O_3$ 0.09~0.21 wt.%, $Ho_2O_3$ 0.04~0.14 wt.%, $Er_2O_3$ 0.18~0.32 wt.%, $Lu_2O_3$ 0.07~0.21 wt.%, $ThO_2$ 0.00~0.97 wt.%), 흑운모($Nd_2O_3$ 0.02~0.08 wt.%, $Gd_2O_3$ 0.07~0.08 wt.%, $Tb_2O_3$ 0.02~0.07 wt.%, $Dy_2O_3$ 0.35~0.43 wt.%, $Ho_2O_3$ 0.15~0.26 wt.%, $Er_2O_3$ 0.24~0.28 wt.%, $Yb_2O_3$ 0.06~0.18 wt.%, $ThO_2$ 0.00~0.12 wt.%), 정장석($Dy_2O_3$ 0.05~0.12 wt.%, $Ho_2O_3$ 0.05~0.06 wt.%, $Er_2O_3$ 0.28 wt.%, $Yb_2O_3$ 0.06~0.12 wt.%) 및 사장석($Ho_2O_3$ 0.01~0.03 wt.%, $Er_2O_3$ 0.10~0.27 wt.%, $ThO_2$ 0.11~0.13 wt.%)이며 희토류 광물로는 바스트나사이트와 퍼구소나이트이다. 희토류 광물들은 주로 장석류, 운모류, 저어콘, 인회석 및 티탄철석의 간극을 따라 산출된다. 따라서 철마산 일대의 희토류 광화작용 산물인 바스트나사이트와 퍼구소나이트는 화강암질편마암과 엽리상 운모화강암의 형성 시 희토류 원소 및 토륨이 구성광물 내에 소량 함유되어 있었으며 그후 계속된 화성활동 및 변성작용에 의하여 기존 광물 내에 함유되어 있던 희토류 원소가 재 농집에 의해 형성된 것으로 생각된다.

중국 Xiquegou 연-아연 광상의 돌로마이트와 녹니석 산상과 화학조성 (Occurrence and Chemical Composition of Dolomite and Chlorite from Xiquegou Pb-Zn Deposit, China)

  • Xiquegou 연-아연 광상은 중국 동북지역에선 가장 규모가 큰 연-아연 광화대 중의 하나인 Qingchengzi orefield에 위치한다. 이 광상의 주변지질은 시생대의 그래뉼라이트(granulite)와 이를 관입한 고원생대의 미그마타이트질 화강암과 고-중원생대의 소딕(sodic) 화강암을 부정합으로 피복한 고원생대의 Liaohe 층군 및 이들을 관입한 중생대의 섬록암과 몬조나이틱 화강암으로 구성된다. 이 광상은 고원생대의 Liaohe 층군내 Dashiqiao 층의 unit 3(돌로마이트질 대리암과 편암)내에 발달된 단층대를 따라 산출되는 맥상 광체로 트라이아스기의 마그마-열수형 광상에 해당된다. Xiquegou 연-아연 광상에서 석영, 인회석, 방해석, 황철석, 유비철석, 자류철석, 백철석, 섬아연석, 황동석, 황석석, 방연석, 사면동석, 에렉트럼, 휘은석, 자연은 및 농홍은석 등이 산출되며 모암변질로는 규화작용, 황철석화작용, 돌로마이트화작용, 녹니석화작용 및 견운모화작용 등이 관찰된다. 이 광상의 산출 광물조합 및 정출순서를 기초로, 돌로마이트는 1)모암인 돌로마이트(D0) 및 2)연-아연 광화작용에 따른 모암변질 산물인 돌로마이트(D1)로 두 유형이 확인된다. 이들 돌로마이트의 화학조성은 각각 Ca1.03-1.01Mg0.95-0.83 Fe0.12-0.02Mn0.02-0.00(CO3)2(D0) 및 Ca1.16-1.00Mg0.79-0.44Fe0.53-0.13Mn0.03-0.00As0.01-0.00(CO3)2(D1)로써 이론적인 돌로마이트의 화학조성보다 미량원소들의 함량이 높다. 특히, FeO, PbO, Sb2O5 및 As2O5 원소들은 모암변질 산물인 돌로마이트(D1)에서 높은 함량을 갖는다. 또한 이 광상의 모암에서 산출되는 돌로마이트(D0)는 Ferroan 돌로마이트에 해당되며 모암변질 산물인 돌로마이트(D1)는 철백운석 및 Ferroan 돌로마이트에 해당된다. 모암변질 산물인 녹니석의 화학조성은 (Mg1.65-1.08Fe2.94-2.50Mn0.01-0.00Zn0.01-0.00Ni0.01-0.00Cr0.02-0.00V0.01-0.00Hf0.01-0.00Pb0.01-0.00Cu0.01-0.00As0.03-0.00Ca0.02-0.01Al1.68-1.61)5.77-5.73(Si2.84-2.76Al1.24-1.16)4.00O10(OH)8로써 이론적인 녹니석과 유사하며 Fe-rich 녹니석에 해당된다. 또한 이 녹니석의 화학조성 변화는 주로 팔면체적 Fe2+ <-> Mg2+ (Mn2+) 치환과 일부 팬자이틱 또는 Tschermark 치환(Al3+,VI+Al3+,IV <-> (Fe2+ 또는 Mg2+)VI+(Si4+)IV)메카니즘에 의해 일어났음을 알 수 있다.

  • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70$\pm$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32$\pm$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The strip loader and cassette were made to obtain more accurate reflectance parameters. The strip was illuminated at 45˚c through optical fiber and the intensity of reflected light was determined at rectanguLat angle using a photodiode. The kubelka-munk coefficient and reflection optical density were determined ar four different wavelengths(500, 550, 570 and 610nm) for blood glucose strip. For higher concentration than 300mg/41 about glucose, a saturation state of abforbance was observed at 500, 550 and 570nm. The mice were divided into two groups. One group was injected with Photofrin II, intravenously (2.5mg/kg body weight). The other group received no Photofrin II. Mice from both groups were irradialed for approximately 15 minutes at 100, 300, or 500 mW/cm2 with the argon (488nm/514.5 nm), dye(628nm) and gold vapor (pulsed 628 nm) laser light. A photosensitizer behaved as an added absorber. Under our experimental conditions, the presence of Photolfrin II increased surface temperature by at least 40% and the temperature rise due to 300 mW/cm2 irradiation exceeded values for hyperthermia. Light and temperature distributions with depth were estimated by a computer model. The model demonstrated the influence of wavelength on the thermal process and proved to be a valuable tool to investigate internal temperature rise. 30536 T00401030536 ^x We investigated the structural geometry of thirty-eight Korean femurs. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. The results suggested that the femoral component suitable for Asians should be different from the currently-used components designed and manufactured mostly by European or American companies. 30537 T00401030537 ^x It is well known that nonlinear propagation characteristics of the wave in the tissue may give very useful information for the medical diagnoisis. In this paper, a new method to detect nonlinear propagation characteristics of the internal vibration in the tissue for the low frequency mechanical vibration by using bispectral analysis is proposed. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms.   • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70${\pm}$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32${\pm}$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms.
