In this paper, an electroelastic analysis is performed on a piezoelectric material with an open crack in anti-plane deformation. Bueckner’s weight function theory is extended to piezoelectric materials in anti-plane deformation. The stress intensity factors and electric displacement intensity factor are calculated by the weight function theory.

Mozi was a practitioner who suggested the most persuasive theory about the cruelty of war among Chinese thinkers, and was a theorist who applied his theories into reality. In order to do systematic and comprehensive analysis of Mozi's book,'Non-aggression'in which he suggested anti-war and peace theory, we tried to review his theory both theoretical and practical aspects. We examined the theoretical aspects in three different parts. First, the moral basis of Mozi's anti-war peace theory is "Mutual love" in which they love each other and share their mutual benefits. Second, according to Mozi it is clear that those who caused the war as well as those who steal other people's goods should be punish based on the retribution point of view. Third, Mozi demonstrates that war is not profitable from the economic aspects as well. These three aspects are at the core of anti-war peace theory of Mozi. Next, we looked at the case of Mozi's effort to protect the weak countries in reality. His theory of 'Anti-war and Peace' is presented to protect the weaker countries. Finally, we have looked at some of the Mozi's defensive tactics, which is called the best of all in ancient. Through these considerations, it can be guessed how much he tried to narrow the gap between theory and practice. The Mozi's theory of Anti-war and Peace, which has been struggle to establish a peace in reality, still has realistic significance today.

The purpose of this study is to explore the manner in which Edith Wharton's Ethan Frome conveys contemporary, (culturally) imperialistic ideology. Especially by focusing on the difference between the European germ (or invasion) theory and the 'Americanized' invasion theory, this paper elucidates how the American $20^{th}$ century fiction represents contemporary 'fear' of the immigration of non-whites, that generated anti-immigration public sentiment in early $20^{th}$ century America. Also, this study investigates how racial or gendered biases contribute to attributing all (societal or individual) evils or illnesses to minorities such as (non-Nordic or non-white) immigrants, including women. Wharton's Ethan Frome isn't short of reflecting cultural imperialism.

The purpose of this study is to describe the central argument of postmodern theory ; pro-vide a central concept about postmodernism for fashion ; identify the signficance of open fashion in the 20th century. Postmodern is used to refer to a body of social theory, a style of aesthetic expression, and to various social practics and economic conditions. In this paper, postmodern theory is interpreted as an anti-aesthetics propesed by Derrida, Lyotard, Baudrillard, and Foster. The key principles and consepts of postmodern the-ory reflect and restate assumptions of nihilism influenced by the works of Nietzsche, being synonymous with the phrase philosophy of difference. The death of art, the end of progress, the will to the sublime, and the principle of pure difference support postmodern ideas, which could be the framework to interprete fashion phenomenon in postmodern condition.

Buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) has been known for having strong anti-oxidant, anti-mutagenic, and anti-carcinogenic activities. The free radical theory of aging, also known as the oxidative stress theory of aging, claims that cellular oxidative damage accumulated with time is a major causal factor of aging. In the present study, we investigated the effect of buckwheat extracts on resistance to oxidative stress and aging using Caenorhabditis elegans as a model system. Survival under an oxidative-stress condition induced by paraquat increased markedly following 500mg/L buckwheat extracts treatment, suggesting lower cellular oxidative damage by buckwheat extracts. A lifespan assay also revealed that treatment of buckwheat extracts significantly extended both the mean and maximum lifespan in C. elegans. Interestingly, this lifespan-extension by buckwheat extracts was not accompanied by reduced fertility. These findings suggest that buckwheat extracts can confer longevity phenotype to C. elegans through its strong anti-oxidant activity and support the aging theory which emphasizes a pivotal role of oxidative stress during aging.

In this paper, static and vibration analysis for anti-symmetric cross-ply and angle- ply carbon/glass hybrid laminates rectangular composite plate are presented. In this analysis, the equations of motion for simply supported thick laminated hybrid rectangular plates are derived and obtained through the use of Hamilton's principle. The closed-form solutions of anti-symmetric cross-ply and angle- ply laminates are obtained using Navier solution. The effects of side-to-thickness ratio, aspect ratio, and lamination schemes on the fundamental frequencies loads are investigated. The study concludes that shear deformation laminate theories accurately predict the behavior of composite laminates, whereas the classical laminate theory over predicts natural frequencies. The excellent accuracy of the present analytical solution is confirmed by making some comparisons of the present results with those available in the literature. It can be concluded that the proposed theory is accurate and simple in solving the free vibration behaviors of anti-symmetric cross-ply and angle- ply hybrid laminated composite plates.

In this paper, the scattering of harmonic elastic anti-plane shear waves by two collinear cracks in functionally graded materials is investigated by means of nonlocal theory. The traditional concepts of the non-local theory are extended to solve the fracture problem of functionally graded materials. To overcome the mathematical difficulties, a one-dimensional non-local kernel is used instead of a two-dimensional one for the anti-plane dynamic problem to obtain the stress field near the crack tips. To make the analysis tractable, it is assumed that the shear modulus and the material density vary exponentially with coordinate vertical to the crack. By use of the Fourier transform, the problem can be solved with the help of a pair of triple integral equations, in which the unknown variable is the displacement on the crack surfaces. To solve the triple integral equations, the displacement on the crack surfaces is expanded in a series of Jacobi polynomials. Unlike the classical elasticity solutions, it is found that no stress singularities are present at crack tips.

This study examined Korean and the U.S.A..'s television anti-smoking advertisements that were coined to discourage adults and teens smoking. A content analysis of 71 television advertisements listed in the "Smoking Guidance Program" operated by Korea Health Promotion Foundation. This study evaluated to detect whether the advertising content reflected core health communication theories such as health belief model, theory of reasoned action, and social cognitive theory used in the designing of anti-smoking ad message to change behavior and attitudes toward smoking unfavorably. The results showed that Korean anti-smoking ads mostly relied on social norm messages, followed by smoking attitude. The message of modeling and self-efficacy was least used; while, the U.S.A. ads focused more on modeling and self efficacy. This difference comes from the cultural difference. Namely, Korea focused more on collectivism rather than individualism. The anti-smoking ads of Korea and the U.S.A. most frequently adopted horror and humor rather than sadness, no appeal, and angry. The ads targeted more on adults rather than teens. The research identifies the types of advertisements that are most likely to utilized and underutilize in the Korea and U.S.A. anti-smoking ads and contribute to further understandings of anti-smoking ads theoretically.

Objectrve : To research the trends of the study related to aging process, and to establish the direction of the study on aging process. Method : We reviewed the journal and essay about the aging process which are published as well in Korea as in foreign country. Results : 1. The study on the Oriental Medicine field can be classfied with the fourth. first, the study of single herb medication's effect on the aging process. second, the study of multiple herb medication's effect on the aging process. third, the study of herb-acupuncture solution's effect on the aging process. fourth, journal review. We find the fact that the study on the Oriental Medicine is concerned with pathology of deficiency syndrome of the kidneys, retention of phlegm and fluid, blood stasis. 2. On the Western Medicine field, mechanism and pathology of aging pracess primarily has been studied. The mechanism of aging process is classified with 'Wear and tear theory' and 'Genome-based theory'. Among the mechanism of aging process, 'Free radical theory' is the most important. Additionally 'Senescence-Accelerated Mouse' has been studied. 3. We review the journal published in foreign country and its subject was the following: first, moxibustion combined with acu-area skin allograft therapy for the aging was effective, second, the traditional chinese medicine bu-zhong-yi-qi-tang in mice have anti-aging effect. third, the overview Preventive geriatrics of Traditional chinese medicine. 4. We researched anti-aging effect study in the journal of the Korean Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and we found a few journal of Herb-acupuncture solution's anti-aging effect. Hereafter, it is necessory that we will study about relationship between acupuncture-moxibustion therpy and anti-aging effect using Senescence-Accelerated Mouse.

To analyze the diffraction properties of optical signals by periodic blazed 2D diffraction gratings, Toeplitz dielectric tensor is first defined and formulated by 2D spatial Fourier expansions associated with asymmetric blazed grating profile. The characteristic modes in each layer is then based on eigenvalue problem, and the complete solution is found rigorously in terms of modal transmission-line theory (MTLT) to address the pertinent boundary-value problems. Toeplitz matrix of symmetric and sawtooth profiles is derived from that of asymmetric blazed grating profile, and the diffraction properties for each profile are numerically simulated. The numerical results reveal that the asymmetric and symmetric profiles behave as anti-reflection GMR filter while the sawtooth profile works better as anti-transmission one rather than anti-reflection filter.
