  • A wideband dual-polarized antenna coupling cross resonator is proposed for LTE700/GSM850/GSM900 base stations. An additional resonance is introduced to obtain strong coupling between the dipole and resonator. Moreover, the input impedance of the proposed antenna is steadily close to $50{\Omega}$, which results in better impedance matching. Therefore, a wide bandwidth can be achieved with multiresonance. A prototype is fabricated to verify the proposed design. The measured results show that the antenna has a fractional bandwidth of 35.7% from 690 MHz to 990 MHz for ${\mid}S_{11}{\mid}$ < -15 dB. Stable radiation patterns as well as gain are also obtained over the entire operating band. Moreover, a five-element antenna array with an electrical downtilt of $0^{\circ}$to $14^{\circ}$ is developed for modern base station applications. Measurement shows that a wide impedance bandwidth of 34.7% (690 MHz to 980 MHz), stable HPBW (3-dB beamwidth) of $65{\pm}5^{\circ}$, and high gain of $13.8{\pm}0.6dBi$ are achieved with electrical downtilts of $0^{\circ}$, $7^{\circ}$, and $14^{\circ}$.

  • A case study of an active transmitting patch antenna revealed a characteristic loop locus of DC power versus RF output power as drive frequency was varied, with an operational bandwidth substantially smaller than the impedance bandwidth of the radiator. An approximate simulation technique, based on separation of the output capacitance of the power transistor, yielded easily visualized plots of power dependence on internal load impedance, and a simple interpretation of the experimental results in terms of a near-resonance condition between the output capacitance and output packaging inductance.

  • We propose a way to measure the absorber reflectivity at a low cost. Only one simple antenna with a small radiating aperture and a frequency-domain instrument are utilized. The previously used equation for calculating the reflectivity of an absorber is inaccurate, and, therefore, a new equation is derived based on multiple reflection analysis and three test models. Notably, the reflection coefficient of the antenna is included in the derived equation. The accuracy of the proposed method is proven through simulation and measurements. It can be easily applied to a product examination by absorber manufacturers and customers owing to its advantages of simplicity, cost effectiveness, and non-cutting examination.

  • In this paper, we proposed an inductance loaded small type open-loop travelling wave antenna model for the suitable VHF/UHF frequency bands moisture measurement systems and analyzed its operating characteristics by galerkin's solution method. This antenna model enables to change the oeprating rsonance frequency from the frequency range 150 Mhz to 1.0 Ghz without changing the antenna design dimensions by only varing the load inductance values and it showed the similar operating charcteristics and narrowband resonance characteristics at each resonance frequencies. Also this model showed the uniformly distriubte dpower radiation characteristics above the loop axis and it can effectively suppress the spurious radiations from its narrowband resonance characteristics.

  • This paper presents the basic characteristics of a forced resonant type EMI dipole antennas for frequencies below 80 MHz in which two reactance elements are used for the impedance matching at the fined point. The input impedance of the short dipole less than half-wavelength is controlled by the properly determined loading position and the value of loading reactance. The numerical results show that the small-sized EMI dipole antenna with loller antenna factors for frequencies below 80 MHz can be realized by the reactance loading. In case tole proposed center driven forced resonant type EMI dipole antenna with 0.3 λ length is loaded from the center, the input impedance is matched at feed line with 50 $\Omega$, and hence the antenna has lower factors in the frequency range of 30 to 80 MHz.

  • In this paper, the shaped offset Cassegrain antenna with low sidelobe, low cross-polar level, and high efficiency is designed. The design data is presented for shaping scheme. The validity of radi-ation characteristics is accomplished by comparing the result of measurement with numerical calculation and design goal. Experimental results of designed antenna are in good agreement with design goal except efficiency.

  • In this paper, the waveguide slot array antenna which is capable of wide beam steering and dual polarization is designed for an X band synthetic aperture radar. In order to improve the restriction of beam steering range and to remove the butterfly lobes, a typical waveguide slot array antenna has been modified. To implement dual polarization, rod excited waveguide slot elements and ridge waveguide slot elements are alternately arranged. Location of slots, inclination of rod and offset distance of slots are determined on using array characteristic and conductance constant with radiating power on slots. The designed antenna is manufactured and measured with Near-filed measurement method.

  • A general analysis of an aperture-coupled vertically mounted strip antenna is presented to examine its circuit characteristics. Based on the present analysis, an equivalent circuit model is developed, and an analytic or semi-analytic evaluation of the related circuit element values is described. The effects of structure parameters on the antenna characteristics were studied with the developed equivalent circuit, and the design curves were obtained. To check the validity of the proposed analysis and design theory, two C-band antennas (5.0 GHz and 4.5 GHz) were designed and fabricated. Their computed characteristics, derived from the proposed network analysis, were compared with the measurement and simulation results. The error of the current model in predicting the operating center frequency was less than 0.50 %. In addition, the observed bandwidth was found to be comparable to the conventional microstrip antennas. All the results fully validated the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed analysis and network model.

  • A dual-band tunable-slot-type ground radiation antenna is proposed. The feeding structure consists of a coplanar waveguide and a lumped capacitor to excite currents for first- and second-order resonant modes of the ground. The resonant frequencies of both bands are controlled using a series combination of a capacitor and an inductor. The proposed design may be an attractive choice for mobile devices owing to its compact geometry and tunable operating frequencies. The measurement and simulation results of the proposed antenna show good agreement, indicating good impedance matching and radiation performance.

  • This paper presents the program to analyze an antenna for using the Moment Method. The program contains three different functional steps. In the first stage, the pre-processor is based on the Delaunay Triangulation Algorithm. The next stage, the main-processor, can be considered the core process of the program, which solutions are obtaining the linear matrix for using the Moment Method. The final stages, the name of the post-processor, analyze radiation patterns, which results are same with the S-parameters. The results demonstrate satisfactory agreement with the results for using other numerical packages and measurement data. We can confirm that the results of this program compare with the results of common program to analyze for an antenna.
