  • We present UBV CCD Photometry of the very metal-poor globular duster M3O,covering a region of r f 100 arcsec from the duster center. The data was obtained from the 40 inch telescope at Mt Soomlo Siding Spring Observator in August 1992. We used DAOPHOT CCD reudction package for data reduction to obtain Color-Magnitude Diagram(CMD). We have determined some fludamental parameters of the globular Ouster such as metal abundance, helium abundance and distance from the CMD. finally, we have attempted to determine the age of M3O using the revised Yale isochrones.

  • We present results of time-series CCD photometry for 178 stars in the young open cluster M29 (=NGC6913). Total 1036 V-band CCD frames were collected for five nights between August 12 and September 13, 1994. The photometric precision is about 7.6 mmag for 9th-10th mag stars in M29 with exposure times of 30 seconds. From the dispersion diagram and the light curves, one detached eclipsing binary (HD194378) and two suspected variables are newly discovered. $A\;\gamma\;Cas$ type variable, V1322 Cyg, which has been known as a member of M29, did not show any light variations during the period of present observations, indicating that it passed the steady phase without the eruption during our observing runs.

  • The RGB Bayer filter system consists of mosaic R, G, and B filters on the grid of photo sensors with which typical commercial DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) cameras and CCD/CMOS cameras are taken. Many unique astronomical data taken with RGB Bayer filter systems are available, including transient objects, e.g., supernovae, variable stars, and solar system bodies. The utilization of such data in scientific research strongly requires reliable photometry transformation methods. In this work, we develop a series of formulae to derive magnitudes in the Johnson-Cousins BVR filter system from those in the RGB Bayer filter system.

  • UBVIJHK photometry of the open cluster NGC 2194 are presented. Color-Magnitude diagrams of this cluster show well-defined main sequence and red giant clump. The main sequence also contains clear evidence of binary populations. Based on color-color diagrams, absolute magnitude of red giant clump, ZAMS fitting, and comparisons of observed color-magnitude diagrams with theoretical models, we derive following parameters for the cluster; reddening $E(B-V)=0.44{\pm}0.04$, age of log $t{\sim}8.8$, and finally distance of $(m-M)_0=12.20{\pm}0.18$.

  • Type Ia Supernovae are known as one of the most reliable standard candle regarding to our understanding their explosion mechanism. Recently NIR photometry of SN Ia shows us better promise on the distance measurement. NIR peak luminosity is relatively independent of light curve shape and effect of extinction is obviously less than in optical wavelengths. Among NIR bands, Y-band photometry is suggested to have less scatter and reduced reddening effect than other NIR wavelengths, furthermore it is still unexplored regime to verify its utility. Here we report Y-band light curve analysis of M101 SN Ia to investigate how Y-band can help us to determine accurate distance to the galaxy.

  • Photolectric observations with B and V filters of the eclipsing binary system V448 Monocerotis are presented. The light curves, which cover 30% of the light cycle, show the variability of this system.
