  • We developed a simple and real-time readout autocorrelator for several tens and sub-10fs pulses, based on the two photon absorption phenomena of a commercial GaP photodetector including a transimpedance amplifier. With a suitable gain adjustment, we demonstrated that the interferometric autocorrelation for sub-nJ pulses delivered as a high output voltage as to resolve all fringes in an autocorrelation trace with features of low noise and a low offset voltage. By fitting the measured quadratic power dependence of output voltages, we obtained the quantum efficiency of TPA for the GaP detector comparable with those of a GaAsP diode and an SHG with a thin BBO crystal. The autocorrelator of a TPA based GaP photodetector is highly suitable for sensitively measuring a few cycle pulses with a broad spectral distribution from 600 nm to 1100 nm.

  • This paper presents a 868/915 MHz CMOS RF transceiver for the ZigBee application. Using a switchless matching network, the off chip switch is removed to achieve the low cost RF transceiver, and by the elimination of the switch's insertion loss we can achieve the benefits for the RF receiver's noise figure and transmitter's power efficiency at the given output power. The receiver is composed of low-noise amplifier, mixer, and baseband analog(BBA) circuit. The transmitter is composed of BBA, mixer, and driver amplifier. And, the integer N type frequency synthesizer is designed. The proposed ZigBee RF full transceiver is implemented on the $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. Measurement results show that the maximum gain and the noise figure of the receiver are 97.6 dB and 6.8 dB, respectively. The receiver consumes 32 mA in the receiver mode and the transmitter 33 mA in the transmission mode.

  • Most eco-friendly cars can adopt the concept of an integrated battery charger (IBC), which uses currently available motor drive systems. The IBC has a lot of strong points such as low cost and minimum space for the high voltage battery charger. On the other hand, it also has some defects caused by its structure. In this paper, the shortcomings of the conventional IBC for PHEVs with interior permanent magnet motors are discussed, and two advanced IBCs with improved performance are presented. Compared with the conventional IBC, the two advanced IBCs have plenty of strengths such as low common noise, high efficiency, simple sensing methods, etc. Then, the digital control algorithm is modified and a power loss calculation is carried out with simulation software. Finally, experimental results are provided to show the performance of the IBC systems.

  • The polar delta-sigma modulator (DSM) transmitter architecture exhibits good coding efficiency and can be used for software-defined radio applications. However, the necessity of high clock speed is one of the major drawbacks of using this transmitter architecture. This study proposes a low-complexity timeinterleaved architecture for the polar DSM transmitter baseband part to reduce the clock speed requirement of the polar DSM transmitter using an upsampling technique. Simulations show that using the proposed four-branch timeinterleaved polar DSM transmitter baseband part, the clock speed requirement of the transmitter is reduced by four times without degrading the signal-tonoise-and-distortion ratio.

  • With the rapid development of rail transit, rail transit noise needs to be paid more and more attention. In order to accurately and effectively analyze the characteristics of low-frequency noise, a prediction model of vibration of box girder was established based on the hybrid FE-SEA method. When the train speed is 140 km/h, 200 km/h and 250 km/h, the vibration and noise of the box girder induced by the vertical wheel-rail interaction in the frequency range of 20-500 Hz are analyzed. Detailed analysis of the energy level, sound pressure contribution, modal analysis and vibration loss power of each slab at the operating speed of 140 km /h. The results show that: (1) When the train runs at a speed of 140km/h, the roof contributes more to the sound pressure at the far sound field point. Analyzing the frequency range from 20 to 500 Hz: The top plate plays a very important role in controlling sound pressure, contributing up to 70% of the sound pressure at peak frequencies. (2) When the train is traveling at various speeds, the maximum amplitude of structural vibration and noise generated by the viaduct occurs at 50 Hz. The vibration acceleration of the box beam at the far field point and near field point is mainly concentrated in the frequency range of 31.5-100 Hz, which is consistent with the dominant frequency band of wheel-rail force. Therefore, the main frequency of reducing the vibration and noise of the box beam is 31.5-100 Hz. (3) The vibration energy level and sound pressure level of the box bridge at different speeds are basically the same. The laws of vibration energy and sound pressure follow the rules below: web

  • The objective of this paper is to remove noises of image based on the heuristic noises filter and to extract a tumor region by using morphology techniques in breast ultrasound image. Similar objective studies have been conducted based on ultrasound image of high resolution. As a result, efficiency of noise removal is not fine enough for low resolution image. Moreover, when ultrasound image has multiple tumors, the extraction of ROI (Region Of Interest) is not accomplished or processed by a manual selection. In this paper, our method is done 4 kinds of process for noises removal and the extraction of ROI for solving problems of restrictive automated segmentation. First process is that pixel value is acquired as matrix type. Second process is a image preprocessing phase that is aimed to maximize a contrast of image and prevent a leak of personal information. In next process, the heuristic noise filter that is based on opinion of medical specialist is applied to remove noises. The last process is to extract a tumor region by using morphology techniques. As a result, the noise is effectively eliminated in all images and a extraction of tumor regions is possible though one ultrasound image has several tumors.

  • A high efficiency ZVS PWM asymmetrical half bridge converter for a plasma display panel (PDP) sustaining power modules is proposed in this paper. To achieve the ZVS of power switches for the wide load range, a small additional inductor L/sub 1kg/, which also acts as an output filter inductor, is serially inserted into the transformer's primary side. At that point, to solve the problem of ringing in the secondary rectifier caused by L/sub 1kg/, the proposed circuit employs a structure without the output filter inductor, which helps the voltages across rectifier diodes to be clamped at the output voltage. Therefore, no dissipative RC (resistor capacitor) snubber for rectifier diodes is needed and a high efficiency as well as low noise output voltage can be realized. In addition, since it has no large output inductor filter, the asymmetrical half bridge converter features a simpler structure, lower cost, less mass, and lighter weight. In addition, since all energy stored in L/sub 1kg/ is transferred to the output side, the circulating energy problem can be effectively solved. The operational principle, theoretical analysis, and design considerations are presented. To confirm the operation, validity, and features of the proposed circuit, experimental results from a 425W, 385Vdc/170Vdc prototype are presented.

  • A high efficiency ZVS PWM asymmetrical half bridge converter for a plasma display panel (PDP) sustaining power module is proposed in this paper. To achieve the ZVS of power switches for the wide fond range, n small additional inductor $L_{lkg}$, which also acts as an output filter inductor, is serially inserted to the transformer primary side.
