Background: This study aims to empirically compare and evaluate the current status of medical accessibility and health inequality between people with disabilities and without. We calculated the ACSC hospitalization rate, which is a medical accessibility index, for hypertension, a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease that accounts for more than 20% of deaths among people with disabilities using the 2016 National Health Insurance Big Data. Methods: The subjects of the study were a total of 601,520, including 64,018 people with disabilities and 537,501 people without. Logistic regression was performed to analyze the differences in hypertension hospitalization rates adjusted for demographic and sociological characteristics and disease characteristics using SAS 9.4 program. Results: Before adjusting for the characteristics, the hypertension hospitalization rate of people with disabilities was 1.55%, and the people without disabilities were 0.49%. After adjusting, it was found that people with disabilities were 2.11 times higher than people without disabilities, and it was statistically significant. Conclusion: The preventable hospitalization rate of people with disabilities is higher than that of people without, suggesting that the disabled have problems with access to medical care and health inequality. Therefore, the government's policy improvement is required to close the medical gap for the disabled.

Objectives: With the increase in the number of people who are marginalized in receiving medical services, the role of Seoul National University Hospital as a public hospital is being emphasized. However, many patients are either experiencing delays in receiving medical services or simply being left out as a result of the inaccessibility to the department of social work on part of both the patients and the medical staff. Methods: In order to increase consultation from other departments and the accessibility to the department of social work for the socially marginalized group through early consultation from other departments, the following steps were taken. First, an orientation program for novice medical residents led by clinical social worker was introduced/implemented. Second, posters and brochures on various financial aids programs were produced and distributed. Third, a system of early screening was built/constructed, and once a week rounds and early screening meeting were executed/carried out. Result: The department of social work's rate of consultation from other departments increased by 4.4% compared to last year, while it showed 61% increase for those wards that had an early screening meeting. In addition, the average time of consultation from other departments was reduced by 3.1 days, securing sufficient amount of time for clinical social work services, both in terms of quality and quantity. Conclusion: It is believed that the various promotional activities, along with the strengthening of accessibility to clinical social work services and early consultation on part of social disadvantaged/marginalized group, would undoubtedly help provide quality services to patients and increase their level of satisfaction. In this way, the wards can effectively reduce the number of unnecessary hospital stay days while the hospital can prevent the accumulation of outstanding bills/fees as well as contribute to the publicness of hospitals. The promotion of clinical social work programs in various ways are crucial to ensuring the satisfaction of patients and hospital staff.

Web-based information services should be evaluated for accessibility and usability with various types of Internet Web-browsing devices, interacting with web information servers. A reliable ubiquitous Web information server, accessible and usable with a variety of Web-browsing devices (e.g. a full-browsing mobile phone), should be a unified center for personalized ubiquitous Web information services as well as for business models based on personalized advertisements. We studied an estimation of the accessibility and usability in Web interaction for personalized ubiquitous Web information services, as metrics for real-time estimation. We show empirical results based on implementation and experiments in Korea, Japan and China, using a test-bed Web site ('ktrip.net') and single-character Korean domain names (e.g. 김.net, 이.net, 박.net, 최.net, ㄱ.net, ㄴ.net ... ㅎ.net, ㅏ.net, ... ㅔ.net, ㄱ.com, ㄴ.com ... ㅎ.com).

This study conducted to find influences of selection attributes on consumer satisfaction as perceived by low-cost restaurant visiter by considering personal value. Developed survey was distributed and 428 sample who visited the low-cost franchise restaurant were employed the statistical analyze. The internal value and the external value included individual value in order to estimate the influence of the choice factor of the low-cost franchise restaurant on the quality of the product, and the choice factors were consisted of 3 variables that are quality, accessibility and service. Regression analysis was conducted to verify the relationships among the variables. As a result, the internal value (${\beta}=.236$, p<.0.01), and external value (${\beta}=.352$, p<.001) have the significant positive relationships with respect to quality. Second, the external value (${\beta}=.305$, p<.001) has the positive relationship with regard to accessibility, but the internal value has no significant relationships with level of accessibility. Third, the internal value (${\beta}=.828$, p<.001) has the significant positive relationship with regard to service, but there was no significant influences between external value and service in this study. Fourth, the internal value (${\beta}=.472$, p<.001), the external value (${\beta}=.479$, p<.001) were critical antecedents of the quality. Last, while quality (${\beta}=.858$, p<.001) has significant positive relationship with satisfaction, but it didn't show any relationships with accessibility and service.

With the popularization of smartphones, the mobile demand for information from libraries is increasing and mobile library service will soon be quired. This study analyzed the mobile library services for the mobile webs established by 4 university libraries in Korea and 56 belonging to ARL in the United States. It examined 42 mobile applications developed by universities and university libraries in Korea, and 18 mobile applications developed by the universities and university libraries belonging to ARL in the United States. Mobile accessibility was assessed by conducting mobileOK test for the mobile websites of the same libraries. The study shows that university libraries in Korea should establish mobile websites focusing on key contents which reflect the demand for mobile information of users, and secure mobile web accessibility which the users could conveniently use.

This study analyzes the impacts of mixed-use development and transportation on housing values in Seoul, Korea. An index measuring the land use mix is proposed using three components of land uses, residence, office, and retail, which are the essential elements for everyday urban life. This index offers a relatively easy way in measuring the level of mixed-use and proves itself useful providing sensible and reliable results in this empirical study. Also surface and underground transportation accessibilities are measured. By covering both surface and underground, a comprehensive view of Seoul's transportation accessibility is provided. Finally, housing value models are constructed with developed variables, i.e. land use mix index and accessibility measures, as well as relevant socio-economic variables. The empirical outcomes verifies that mixed-use development and transportation accessibility positively affect housing values.

In the era of ultra high speed information communication technology represented by Smart phone and Tablet PC, the disable and the aged people came to be in a position of so-called 'relatively weak people' in the field of information communication due to inconvenience of use and difference in information acquisition and processing ability. Thus, a survey was conducted on Smart phone accessibility items based on previous studies of the disabled with crippled disorder, brain lesions, myelopathy and muscular disabilities having more inconvenience relatively in their use of smart phone due to upper limb dysfunctions. Especially, people with upper limb dysfunctions with relatively weak grip had big inconvenience in the conditions of uses requiring actions such as grabbing and rotating the devices, and due to the characteristics of touch screen input method of Smart phone, they had big inconvenience due to a lack of a guidance for keyboard in input. As a result of questionnaires by the type of disability, it turned out that severe myelopathy causes the most inconvenience in using smart phone.

Since the emergence of the smartphone and tablet PC whose wireless internet accessibility has improved, personal computing environment has shifted from PCs to mobile web based mobile devices, and therefore the use of information and the communication method have been changing rapidly. Under the circumstance, domestic universities have actively been establishing mobile websites for smartphone users. Such mobile websites, however, focused on diverse functions and a showy design rather than on usability or accessibility, and were developed simply for the purpose of public relations. For this reason, students are now faced with difficulties in using the websites. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel web interface with the consideration of usability and accessibility in order for users to easily use and assess proper information. The matters to be taken into account in developing a mobile website are an intuitive interface design, user experiences, a user customized interface and compliance with web standards.

Objective: The current study aimed to investigate the accessibility and usability of the disabled person while using the everyday facility. Background: The national laws regulated accommodation of persons with disabilities, but our knowledge on the practical usefulness of the laws and acceptance by the users is still far from complete. Method: Compliance with laws was checked throughout the actual measurement of 87 engineering designs in the facilities of a national university, and the practical usability of the facilities was investigated by in-depth interviews with eight disabled persons. New design solutions were developed by the anthropometric methodology for better accommodation. The target-specific anthropometry database such as sitting knee height with wheelchair was employed. Results: First, the statistic showed that 28.7% of facility designs comply with the law, 29.9% of facility designs doesn't comply with the law, and 41.4% of facility designs doesn't have related law or regulation. Second, the law of table height(71cm in current) can accommodate only 49.3% of wheelchaired population. The following test for 95% accommodation revealed that the table with 80cm high is required. Third, the current law in the door width(90cm) can only accommodate 82.6% of disabled persons, so the new design solution was calculated and suggested that 100cm in the door width is necessary for 99% accommodation of disabled persons. Conclusion: Even with the laws and regulations for the disabilities it was clear that the accessibility and usability of the disabled persons in everyday facilities was still limited. An investigation for the new solutions about a wide range of facilities is necessary for better practical accessibility and usability of the handicapped persons. Application: The results of current study can be a basement of developing a new guideline or regulation of the facility design for the disabled persons.

The purpose of this study was to assess adequately equipped with convenience facilities for the disabled in 160 healthcare institutions in Jongno district, Seoul. Healthcare institutions were equipped an average of 3.7 facilities out of 10. General hospitals had an average of 5.0 facilities, which was higher than an average of 3.6 facilities for private clinics (p<0.05). Of 160 healthcare institutions, only 13 (8.1%) offered easy access to the outpatient setting from the entrance for wheelchair users, highlighting difficult wheelchair access within hospitals. To provide easy access to medical service for the disabled, more accessible designs need to be adopted as part of the effort to improve public facilities for the disabled. Also, universal designs could be applied for newly constructed roads, structures and transportation vehicles to maximize accessibility for the disabled. Increased accessibility for the disabled in the community will eventually increase the use of healthcare institutions.
