암 환아 가족의 아동 호스피스 요구 측정도구 개발 (Development of a Tool to Measure the Need for Child Hospice Care in Families of Children with Cancer)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a tool to assess the need for child hospice care in families of children with cancer. Method: The research design was a methodological study. The tool was developed in 4 stages : first, preliminary items were developed based on a questionnaire about the needs for child hospice care that was given to 20 families of children with cancer; second, a panel of specialists reduced the number of preliminary items using 3 validity tests for the content; third, final items were selected from the results of a pre-test. Finally, from February to July 2004, reliability and validity were tested with a sample of 104 families who had a child with cancer. Results: The final tool on the need for child hospice care consisted of 22 items and Cronbach's alpha coefficient for internal consistency was .93. Using factor analysis, 5 factors were extracted and these factors explained 69% of the total variance. Conclusion: The instrument, for assessing the need for child hospice care in families of children with cancer, developed in this study was identified as a tool with a high degree of reliability and validity. In this sense, this tool can be effectively utilized for implementing and improving hospice care for children with cancer.

유아기 부모의 수학적 상호작용 척도 개발 및 타당화 연구 (The Development and Validation of a Scale to Measure the Mathematical Interaction of Young Children's Parents)

  • This study aimed to develop and validate a scale which could be used to evaluate mathematical interactions of parents with their young children. The subjects comprised 408 mothers of 4-6-year-old children. Means, standard deviation, $x^2$, Cramer's V, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson correlations, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ were calculated. First, 49 items were developed through a review of relevant research, parent interviews, confirmation of item adequacy and content validity. These items were then edited down to a final list of 24 items representing 4 factors identified by exploratory factor analysis. Second, this 24-item. 4-factor scale was shown to have adequate construct validity, norm validity, and reliability by confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. In conclusion, the final mathematical interaction scale for young children's parents was composed of 24 items with 4 factors: "interaction regarding numbers and operations, measurements, and patterns", "interaction regarding data collection and result presentation", "interaction with picture books", and "interaction regarding shapes and figures"

임상적 비판적 사고능력 검사도구 개발 및 평가 (Development and Validation of a Clinical Critical Thinking Skills Scale)

  • This study developed a test entitled Clinical Critical Thinking Skills (CCTS) by using item response theory (IRT) and examined its validity. In the development stage, data obtained from a convenience sample of 627 undergraduate nursing students were analyzed using a discrimination and difficulty index with the TestAn 1.0 program. In the evaluation stage, data from a convenience sample of 284 nursing and non-nursing students were analyzed using a discrimination and difficulty index with the BILOG-MG program. Criterion validity was verified by the group comparison method. Five items received low discrimination index scores according to the IRT results. In terms of the criterion validity, CCTS scores differed according to major (t=2.21, p=0.028), location of high school (F=4.35, p=0.014), clinical experience (t=5.66, p=0.004), and grade point average (F=7.17, p< 0.001). The CCTS can be used to measure critical thinking skills in the clinical setting.

한국 여대생의 월경 증상 측정도구 개발 (Development of Korean Menstrual Symptom Scale for University Students)

  • Purpose: To develop Korean Menstrual Symptom Scale (KMSS) for university students and test its reliability and validity. Methods: The scale was developed by intensive literature review, development of preliminary items, verification of content validity, development of secondary items, verification of construct validity, and extraction of final items. Thirty-nine items were constructed. Data for validity and reliability testing were collected with a questionnaire survey from 391 university students. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and reliability coefficients (Cronbach's ${\alpha}$) with the SPSS program. Results: There were 37 final items which were sorted into six factors: 'negative affection (8 items)', 'change of activity level (7 items)', 'physical symptom (9 items)', 'mood change (9 items)', 'change in concentration level (4 items)', and 'body water retention (5 items)'. The cumulative percent of variance was 63.3%. Regarding the reliability of the scale, its Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was 0.96. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ values for these factors ranged from 0.75 to 0.91. Conclusion: The KMSS demonstrated acceptable validity and reliability. Repeated research is needed to measure menstrual symptom experienced by women of variable ages.

Evaluation System for Defense IT Project in Korea: Post-Implementation Stage

  • Performance measurement is not an easy task. However, it is necessary to measure the expected value of the informatization project to be invested, to help the successful progress of the informatization project, and to confirm the result of the informatization project. This study describes the evaluation systems of the defense informatization project in Korea used after the end of the informatization project (post-implementation evaluation stage). In the post-implementation evaluation stage of proposed system, the informatization project is evaluated in terms of performance achievement, project plan compliance, project management, and economic validity. For each element, this study suggests metrics and practical measurement method. With metrics and their method, it can be evaluated which project is better than others. Moreover, the lessons learned can be developed. Under scarce budget condition, defense organizations can make better performance from IT project with the evaluation system suggested in this study.

간호사의 안락사에 대한 태도측정 도구개발 연구 (Development of a Scale to Measure Attitude Euthanasia by Korean Nurses)

  • This study was done to develop an euthanasia attitude scale. Subjects who participated in the study were a convenience sample of 234 Korean nurses. Data were collected through a survey over a period of three months. The analysis of the data was done using SPSS PC for descriptive statistics, factor analysis and Cronbach's Coefficient Alpha. Initially 63 items were generated from interview data from eighteen nurses and from a literature review. This preliminary scale was analyzed for a reliability and validity. The results are as follow: 1, Crombach's Coefficient alpha for the 19 items was .8804. 2. Factor analysis was done in order to confirm construct validity and four factor were extracted from the results. These contributed 56.6% of the variance in the total score. 3. Each factor was labled 'qualify of life', 'respect of life, 'client's right', 'medical ethics'. The author suggests that this scale could be used in assessing the attitude of Korean nurses toward euthanasia.

학령전기 장애아동의 건강증진을 위한 어머니의 행위 측정도구 개발 (Development of a Tool to Measure Maternal Behavior for Health Promotion for Preschool Children with Disabilities)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develope a tool to assess mothers' behavior related to healt promotion if their preschool children had disabillties. Method: The research design was a methodological study. This tool was developed in 4 stages: first, a content matrix as a conceptual framework was developed using Gordon's 11 functional health promotion patterns and 5 categories (Lee, Jung & An, 1996); second,40 preliminary items were selected through references and interviews with 9 mothers of children with disabilities; third, 2 items were discarded after content validity was done by 3 experts; fourth, reliability and validity were tested with a sample of 243 mothers of children with disabilities who were of preschool age. Results: The final tool consisted of 19 items and Cronbach's alpha coefficient for internal consistency was .82. Five factors were extracted by factor analysis and they explained 55.58% of the total variance. Conclusions: This tool was identified to have a high degree of reliability and validity. So it can be utilized to assess mothers' behavior in providing health promotion for their children who have disabilities.

어머니의 양육효능감 척도의 개발 (The Development of an Inventory for Measuring the Parenting Self-Efficacy of Korean Mothers)

  • The development of this inventory for measuring the parenting self-efficacy of Korean mothers took place in Seoul with 473 mothers of 5th and 6th grade children. Means, %, ${\chi}^2$, Cramer's V, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Split-half Reliability, factor analysis and Pearson's r were used for data analysis. Five parenting self-efficacy factors were extracted from the 37 items developed for this study. Subscales were General Parenting Self-Efficacy, Health, Communication, Education, and Control. Criterion Validity of the 37 items was confirmed by a significant correlation with the Shin's parenting self-efficacy(r=.71). Internal consistency of this scale was high (Cronbach's ${\alpha}=.92$), including internal reliability of subscales. Factor validity was satisfactory at .65 - .86. These results confirm this scale as a valid and reliable measure of the parenting self-efficacy of Korean mothers.

초등학교 일학년용 학교적응 척도 타당화 연구 (Validation of School Adjustment Inventory for First Grade Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the reliability and validity of the School Adjustment Inventory for 1st grade elementary school students(SAI-1st Grade). The subjects of this study were 624 first grade children attending 40 elementary schools and 120 first grade teachers of G City. Data were analyzed by Factor Analysis(EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA), Pearson's r and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. Results of the test on content validity as evaluated by the first grade teachers was high. It was found that the School Adjustment Inventory for 1st graders of elementary school was a reliable and valid measure for evaluating the school adjustment of first grade students.

  • The linear motor is available for linear transition motion, because of its advantages, the motor design and its application have gradually increased, but the quantitative measurement system of thrust force has not been generalized. Need analysis of correct thrust for control performance improvement of HB-LPM(HB-type Linear Pulse Motor). It is difficult to analyze HB-LPM's thrust. In this paper, HB-LPM's thrust is expressed to mathematical expression. And it is proved validity of this numerical formula by thrust measurement system. Two phase driver is composed. It is verified validity of numerical formula that measure waveform of electric current and voltage that is supplied in each phase.
