미국 내 LEED 그린빌딩의 지속가능한 업무공간 사례 연구 - 실내 평가요소 중 재료 및 자원을 중심으로 - (Case Study on Sustainable office space of the LEED Green Building in the United States - Focused on the Materials and Resources of Indoor Evaluation Factors -)

  • (Background)In modern industrial society, the design industry failed to observe the law of nature, destructing it. Regardless its intention, the design industry destructed the environment so that it can't maintain the future life because of waste and disaster. For the purpose, it is important to adopt the technology to reuse the waste resource generated by building or minimize the damage to environment for the resource that can't be recycled. (Methods)On the assumption that the material and resource can be an alternative plan for the design that can make environment be sustained, the study analyzed materials and resources out of superior office space of USA, which were selected by LEED Green Building Rating System. (Results)The analysis result revealed that all cases reused main structural part of existing building and indoor and various materials were reused or recycled. Especially, the materials without or with low amount of VOCs and formaldehyde were used. In order to reduce construction waste, the finish of existing building was exposed as it was, 50% of reused materials were used or disassemblable materials were used. When regional materials are used, there is an advantage to reduce transportation cost and recycle the materials rapidly. Lastly, the environment-friendly certified by FSC was used in all cases. (Conclusion)After all, the material is one of the space design strategies sensitive to environment so it is important to select good material. Harmless, environment-friendly materials applied to sustainable office space contribute to the creation of healthy environment. In addition, the use of recycled materials and reused materials to minimize waste is also essential factor for creating sustainable space.

녹색도서관 사례분석을 기반으로 한 국내 녹색도서관 구축방향에 관한 연구 (How do they Make Libraries Green?: A Case Based Study on Building Green Libraries)

  • 외국에서는 1980년대부터 '도서관과 환경', '그린도서관 사서', '환경정보원구축', '소음과 도서관', '환경적 대안으로서의 도서관구축' 등으로 녹색도서관에 관한 논의가 시작되었으며, 녹색도서관인증평가시스템에 의해 인증받은 도서관이 50개가 넘는 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 국내에서의 녹색도서관 구축방향을 제시하고자 하였으며, 이를 위해 국내 외 녹색도서관으로 인증받은 녹색도서관 구축사례를 분석하였다. 사례분석은 LEED인증시스템의 여섯 가지 평가항목 즉, 친환경적 건설장소, 수자원활용의 효율성, 에너지 및 대기, 자재와 자원, 실내환경친화도, 친환경실내디자인을 기준으로 도서관 녹색화가 이루어진 내용을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 이러한 인증은 건축적인 면에 초점을 맞추고 있어서 도서관의 친환경성을 좀 더 확대하여 생각할 필요가 있을 것이다. 즉 아직까지 연구되지 않고 있는 도서관의 서비스, 콘텐츠, 도서관용품 등의 친환경에 대한 보다 심층적인 연구가 필요하다고 본다.

Room temperature growth of Mg on the Si(111)-7$\times$7 surface studied using STM and LEED

  • The adsorption geometry and the electronic property of Mg grown at room temperature on the Si(111)-7$\times$7 surface with various coverages have been studied by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and low energy electron diffraction (LEED). At low Mg coverage, the Mg atoms preferentially adsorb at the center adatom sites of the faulted half of the Si(111)-7$\times$7 surface. The adsorbed Mg atom acts as nucleophile with respect to Si atoms thus forms a stable ionic bond with the substrate Si atoms. Above 1 Ml, the 7$\times$7 surface starts to be disrupted and an amorphous Mg overlayer is formed. The LEED shows either $\delta$7$\times$7 or 1$\times$1 pattern at this coverage. When more Mg atoms were exposed, a flat and broad {{{{ { 2} over {3 } }}}}{{{{ SQRT { 3} }}}}$\times${{{{ { 2} over {3 } }}}}{{{{ SQRT { 3} }}}}R30$^{\circ}$region evolves. A flat silicide is formed at first and multi-level Mg islands having hexagonal step edges develop with increasing coverage. The scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) confirms the electronic properties of these Mg films on the si(111) 7$\times$7 surface at various coverages.

자연냉방기법 활용 주거 사례분석 연구 - 미국 LEED 인증 주택을 대상으로 - (Analysis of Housing Cases with Passive Cooling Technologies - Based on LEED(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) housing cases in North America -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the state-of-the-art housing cases with passive cooling technologies and to explore the feasibilities for their applications in domestic housing design. Nineteen Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design housing cases from 2002 to 2007 were selected and analyzed their used passive cooling technologies. Besides traditional passive cooling technologies such as site planning according to the sun direction, the use of thermal mass, insulation, shading, below-ground spaces and ventilation, the relatively new technology trends were detected as followings; the use of high performance envelope, operable windows, and geo-thermal energy as the cooling source of heat pumps, increased areas of photovoltaic cells, and the education of the owner and tenants about the adopted passive cooling technologies in a building. Especially, the education may have not been focused in the domestic design despite of its effectiveness on the appropriate operations of passive cooling technologies. The results of this study show their positive adaptations would be beneficial to domestic housing design to reduce energy costs and have cooler housing environments in summer.

녹색건축물인증(LEED) 사례연구를 통한 커미셔닝 관리 프레임워크 도출 (Building Commissioning Management Framework from the Case Study of Green Building)

  • A necessity of increasing the energy efficiency of the buildings is rising due to global warming and high energy demands prices. Commissioning is an effective way to increase the energy efficiency of the building and reduce maintenance costs. In this study, a case study was conducted to derive the commissioning process of green building and propose management factors that can be used in domestic commissioning projects. The case was a university renovation project that received a LEED Glod certification and conducted the enhanced commissioning. The commissioning is divided into planning, design, construction, and post-construction phases. In the planning stage, commissioning company selection, commissioning goal setting, tasks and responsibilities for each subject are set. In the design phase, preparations are made for inspection and construction steps to prevent design errors. In the construction phase, problems are solved through periodic on-site inspections. In the post-construction phase, a final report with all the details of the commissioning will be created and future maintenance strategies will be proposed. Based on the findings of this study, it will be a basis for the management factors that can be used in the implementation of domestic commissioning projects.

녹색건축물 인증제도의 의료시설 평가에 관한 연구 - BREEAM, LEED, CASBEE의 평가방법과 평가내용 비교·분석을 중심으로 (A Study on Green Building Certification Criteria for Healthcare Facilities - Focused on System and Contents for Healthcare in BREEAM, LEED, CASBEE)

  • Purpose: As the concerns for the environment are gradually prioritized, increasing interests of environment-friendly buildings are drawn. The Green Standard for Energy & Environmental Design (G-SEED) has been strengthened. However, there are no specific assessment criteria that reflect the special situation of healthcare facility. UK, US and Japan have green building certifications specially designed to evaluate sustainable healthcare facilities. This study has been started in order to provide basic information for developing assessment criteria for healthcare facilities in Korean Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design. Methods: In this study, we investigated three foreign green building certifications and compared their assessment system and criteria for healthcare buildings. Results: Each of the three foreign certification standards showed the difference in the system, but all contained the contents specific to healthcare facilities. Evaluation items were affected by regional cultural environment and also medical environment. Patient safety and integrative planning were the most important assessment contents. Implications: Based on this analysis, Korean Green Standard for Energy & Environmental Design for healthcare facilities will be developed.

  • The goal of this study is to compare the evaluation results of indoor daylight environment for each certification and propose improvement points. As the importance of indoor daylight environment has increased, foreign countries have been aware of this and have changed the light environmental certification items. On the other hand, Korea environmental certification systems have not been able to follow the current situation. In order to improve this, this study intended to find evaluation criteria for each category by comparing and analyzing indoor daylight environment certification items in Korea's G-SEED, LEED in the United States, BREEAM in the UK, and CASBEE in Japan. After that, this study simulated 3D models of three spaces about classroom, reading room and club room of Yanghyun elementary School which is scheduled to be constructed for the evaluation of indoor daylight environment, and the results were analyzed to suggest for improvement.

The study of the c($2{\times}2$) ordered Mn surface alloy Pd(001)

  • We have deposited Mn on Pd(oon) at RT up to 30 ML. LEED pattern changed from p($1{\times}1$) to c($2{\times}2$) order below 0.5 ML Mn deposition. During Mn deposition, we have not found any changes in the peak position and the intensity of LEED I/V curve. Using LEED I/V curve analysis for each coverage, we found atomic structure and surface composition of c($2{\times}2$) ordered Mn alloy on Pd(001) surface. Above 1 Ml Mn, in the first layer the Mn subplane lies above the Pd subplane by 0.32 ${\AA}$. This result is very different from the earlier result of Jona et al., who contended that after annealing at 200 for 2 min, a buckled first layer with the Mn subplane lower than the Pd subplane by 0.2 ${\AA}$.

Cu가 흡착된 $Si(100)-2\times1$ 표면의 원자구조 및 전자구조 연구 (Studies on the Atomic and Electronic Structures of Cu Adsorbed $Si(100)-2\times1$ Surface)

  • Cu가 흡착된 Si(100)2$\times$1 표면의 원자구조와 전자구조를 연구하기 위해 기판온도와 증착량을 변화시키면서 각 조건에 대해서 LEED 패턴과 수직방향($\theta e=0^{\circ}$)UPS스펙트럼을 분석했다. UPS스펙트럼들에는 상온증착했을 때 1.3ML 이하 증착량에서 실리사이드와 관련 된 전자구조가 약하게 나타났고, 증착량을 증가시킴에 따라 Cu 3d 밴드의 세기가 급격히 증가하였다. 실리사이드 형성을 나타내는 전자구조는 상온증착 후 $300^{\circ}C$이상 열처리 하거나 기판온도 $400^{\circ}C$에서 증착했을 때 더욱 뚜렷이 구분되어 관찰 되었다. 이 전자구조들은 실리 사이드의 유리 및 탈착온도인 $750^{\circ}C$로 열처리 했을 때 사라졌다. 특히, 기판온도 $400^{\circ}C$에서 증착하면 낮은 증착량에서는 페르미 준위를 지나는 표면상태 피크가 관측되었다. Rigid band model에 따르면 이 피크는 표면의 비어있는 전자상태(surface empty state)에 Cu의 4s1전자가 채워지면서 생기는 것으로 여겨진다. LEED패턴 관찰에서는 상온증착 및 상온증 착 후 열처리 했을 때 Cu에 의한 초격자상은 관찰되지 않았지만, 기판의 온도를 변화시키면 서 증착하였 때 기판온도에 따라 Cu에 의한 여러 가지 초격자상이 관찰되었다. 즉, $400^{\circ}C$에 서 1.5ML증착하면 청정표면 2$\times$+2$\times$2, $450^{\circ}C$에서 0.5ML증착하면 청정표면 2$\times$+5$\times$1, $450^{\circ}C$ 에서 3ML증착하면 청정표면 2$\times$1+2$\times$2+5$\times$5+10$\times$2등 LEED패턴을 관찰할 수 있었다.
