The purpose of this study is to investigate and present a method for measuring public accessibility to urban open spaces. A basic assumption is that, for urban open space policies, accessibility is more important than per capita area. In this study, for the purpose of simplicity, a residential area is assumed to have access to open space if it is within a certain distance from an urban open space. Official city planning map is overlayed with a 200m grid and each cell of dwelling area is checked whether it is within a certain distance from a cell categorized as urban open space. A computer program for widely commercialized personal computer is developed for data processing so that local governments without access to more sophisticated systems can carry out similar studies for their own jurisdictions. Five cities, big, small, old and new, are selected to test the proposed method. Dwelling areas of Ansan new Town have highest accessibility to open spaces(93.4% of dwelling cells have open space cell within 500m). Seoul (91.2%), Suwon(78.2%), Pusan(73.8%), and Inchon(61.4%) have less accessibility. If we assume the Ansan City residents are evenly distributed over the dwelling area, 93.4% of the population has open spaces within walking distance of 500m. However, if we consider physical barriers such as arterial roads, railroads, and streams that reduce the accessibility, less than 93.4% of Ansan city residents enjoy good access to open spaces. Though a further detailed analysis is needed to picture the microscopic accessibility, this method can serve as a useful tool for urban open space policy and open space alternatives evaluations.

This study analyzes the visual access opportunities of neighborhood park users using the Space Syntax theory. In order to achieve this goal, 27 neighborhood parks were selected and 27 axial maps drawn according to the spatial configuration of the sites. Based on the axial map data, this study has calculated some specific space syntax indices, including Connectivity, Integration, and Intelligibility using the Axwoman ver 3.0 based on the Arcview 3.2 application. The value of the representative indices were used to examine visual access opportunities presented by the parks. This study was conducted in two aspects: one focusing on the entire space and another focusing on only the main entrance of the parks. The former used integration and intelligibility values and the latter used connectivity and integration values to evaluate the visual access opportunities of the sites. As a result, this study found that some parks, including Joongang, Balsan, and Sangdang, have high visual access opportunities in terms of the spatial configuration surrounding the park, which shows an integration value higher than 2, and also having intelligibility values higher than 0.7. This is the result of the grid land use pattern surrounding the parks and the straight roads that are closely linked to the main entrances of the parks. It is expected that this methodology and results will be used for locating neighborhood parks during the urban planning stage as providing reasonable evidence.
Imagery and gridded data can be used as the sources of extracting important information and data layers in utilizing GIS. The existing metadata standard to distribute and to utilize the geographic information are mainly concentrated at the vector data and do not provide metadata components for imagery and gridded data. In this study, metadata components for imagery and gridded data have been investigated. Firstly, existing international metadata standards such as ISO and domestic standards of TTA have been analyzed. Based on th results, the draft metadata for imagery and gridded data have been proposed as the extensions of domestic metadata standard distribution. The draft metadata could contribute to build the basic standards to access and utilize proper imagery and gridded data fit to various application field, and this will be fundamental bases for activating GIS in public and private sectors.

In this paper, we propose a distributed synchronization algorithm for wireless mesh networks based on orthogonal frequency division multiple access. For time and frequency synchronization, a node requests its neighbor nodes for a change of fast Fourier transform starting points, transmission times, and carrier frequencies needed for synchronization. The node also updates its own time and frequency elements through simple formulas based on request messages received from neighbor nodes using a guard interval and a cyclic prefix. This process with the cooperation of neighbor nodes leads to a gradual synchronization of all nodes in the network. Through a performance comparison with a conventional scheme, we obtain simulation results indicating that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional scheme in random topologies and a grid topology.

This study proposes a sequence of procedures to extract building boundaries and planar patches through segmentation of rasterized lidar data. Although previous approaches to building extraction have been shown satisfactory, there still exist needs to increase the degree of automation. The methodologies proposed in this study are as follows: Firstly, lidar data are rasterized into grid form in order to exploit its rapid access to neighboring elevations and image operations. Secondly, propagation of errors in raw data is taken into account for in assessing the quality of gradients-driven properties and further in choosing suitable parameters. Thirdly, extraction of planar patches is conducted through a sequence of processes: histogram analysis, least squares fitting, and region merging. Experimental results show that the geometric components of building models could be extracted by the proposed approach in a streamlined way.
In this paper, we propose a new 3D coding method for heterogeneous systems over enhanced Access Grid (e-AG) with 3D display using spatio-temporal scalability. The proposed encoder produces four bit-streams: one base layer and enhancement layer l, 2 and 3. The base layer represents a video sequence for left eye with lower spatial resolution. An enhancement layer l provides additional bit-stream needed for reproduction of frames produced in base layer with full resolution. Similarly, the enhancement layer 2 represents a video sequence for right eye with lower spatial resolution and an enhancement layer 3 provides additional bit-stream needed for reproduction of its reference pictures with full resolution. In this system, temporal resolution reduction is obtained by dropping B-frames in the receiver according to network condition. The receiver system can select the spatial and temporal resolution of video sequence with its display condition by properly combining bit-streams.

IoT(Internet of Things areas) rich information based on the user easy access to service creation must be one of the power system of specificity due following: The IoT spread obstacle to the act be, and 'Smart Grid information of this is not easy under power plants approach the Directive on the protection measures, particularly when stringent security policies IoT technologies applied to Advanced Metering Infrastructure sector has been desired. This is a situation that occurs is limited to the application and use of IoT technologies in the power system. Power Information Network is whilst closed network operating is has a smart grid infrastructure, smart grid in an open two-way communication for review and although information security vulnerabilities increased risk of accidents increases as according to comprehensive security policies and technologies are required and can. In this paper, the IoT platform architecture design of information systems as part of the power of research and development IoT-based energy information platform aims. And to establish a standard framework for a connection to one 'Sensor-Gateway-Network-platform sensors Service' to provide power based on the IoT services and solutions. Framework is divided into "sensor-gateway" platform to link information modeling and gateways that can accommodate the interlocking standards and handling protocols variety of sensors Based on this real-time data collection, analysis and delivery platform that performs the role of the relevant and to secure technology.
Power line communication (PLC) is one of the major communication technologies in smart grid since it combines good communication capability with easy and simple deployment. As a power network can be modeled as a graph, we propose a vertex coloring based slot reuse scheduling in the time division multiple access (TDMA) period for PLCs. Our objective is to minimize the number of assigned time slots, while satisfying the quality of service (QoS) requirement of each station. Since the scheduling problem is NP-hard, we propose an efficient heuristic scheduling, which consists of repeated vertex coloring and slot reuse improvement algorithms. The simulation results confirm that the proposed algorithm significantly reduces the total number of time slots.
