Effects of Gamma-irradiation on Enzyme Activities of Green Malt (방사선(放射線) 조사(照射)에 의(依)한 맥아역가증대(麥芽力價增大)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • For the study of the effects of low gamma-irradiation on malt enrymes, barley seeds were irradiated by Co-60, with 10, 100, 1,000 and 10,000 rads respectively. The experiments on the germinated green malt were resulted as follows. (1) By the low doses below 1,000 rads the fresh weights of green malts increased but at the hgih doses of 10,000 rads they decreased. (2) In all doses ${\alpha}$-amylase activity and saccharifying ability were expedited, showing the increased effects of 23-69% and 87-178% respectively and their peaks at 100 rads. (3) Protease activity showed almost no changes ein the low doses below 1,000 rads and decreased remarkably at the high doses of 10,000 rads. (4) Reducing sugar contents of green malts were decreased, particularly in 100 and 1,000 rads. (5) Soluble protein contents of green malts were increased in all doses and had their highest value at 100 rads.

Comparison of Fat Content and Fatty Acid Composition in Different Parts of Korean Beef and Pork (한우육 및 돈육의 부위별 지방 함량 및 지방산 조성 비교)

  • In this study, the fat contents and fatty acid compositions of Korean beef (tenderloin, loin, strip loin, chuck roll, foreshank, top blade, top round, brisket point, center of heel, and ribs) and pork (tenderloin, loin, shoulder loin, foreshank, jowls, ham, eye of round, belly, skirt meat, and ribs) parts were investigated. The fat contents of Korean beef ranged from 5.25% (top round) to 35.94% (brisket point). The major fatty acids were palmitic acid (C16:0), stearic acid (C18:0), and oleic acid (C18:1, n-9); especially, oleic acid was the most abundant. Loin had similar fat content as ribs, but there were some differences in fatty acid composition. Linolenic acid (C18:3, n-3) and linoleic acid (C18:2, n-6) were the most abundant fatty acids in strip loin and ribs (38.63 mg/100 g and 564.71 mg/100 g, respectively). Arachidonic acid (C20:4, n-6) was only found in strip loin, top blade, and ribs, and its amounts were in the following order: ribs (2.50 mg/100 g)> strip loin (1.33 mg/100 g)> top blade (1.19 mg/100 g). Total trans-fatty acid (TFA) content of top round was the lowest among all parts, and the ratio of unsaturated fatty acid (UFA) was the highest in foreshank. The fat contents of pork ranged from 4.16% (tenderloin) to 18.47% (belly), but there was no significant difference in fat content between tenderloin, loin, foreshank, ham, and eye of round. The major fatty acids were palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, and linoleic acid, and their amounts were in the following order: oleic> palmitic> linoleic> stearic acid. Docosahexaenoic acid (C22:6, n-3) was only detected in belly, and the TFA content of belly was the highest. The ratio of UFA was highest in ham. These findings will be useful in the development of standardization data on fatty acid composition in different parts of Korean beef and pork.

Antioxidant Effect of HotWaterExtract of Muraenesox cinereus's Skin (갯장어껍질 열수 추출물의 항산화 효과)

  • For the development of functional food and cosmetics using hot water extract of Muraenesox cinereus's skin, contents of vitamin, amino acid and element, and antioxidant activity were investigated. The results are shown as follows: among vitamins, A(0.21mg/100 g), C (78.12mg/100 g), $D_3$ (0.03 mg/100 g), E (1.97 mg/100 g) and Niacin (2.53mg/100 g) were detected, respectively.Mineral contents were an order of K > P > Na > Mg > Ca > Fe and Zn. Contents of total amino acids were an order of Pro > Gly > Arg > Glu > Phe > Ala. Especially, the sum of total amino acids was 27.17 mg/100 mL, which was about 4.0 fold higher than that of free amino acid. DPPH radical scavenging activity of hot water extract of M. cinereus's skin at 25 mg/mL was 63.5% and did not increase at above 50 mg/mL. Activities of antioxidant enzymes in the liver of ethanol-treated rats using hot water extract of M. cinereus's skin were investigated. Compared to control group, activities of ADH and GSH-px were decreased. In the case of CAT and SOD activity, they were increased. These results showed that the hot water extract of M. cinereus's skin can be applied to raw macterial for functional food and cosmetics.

The Optical Characteristics of ${Te}_{100-x}{Ge}_{x}$ Thin Film with Phase Change (비정질 ${Te}_{100-x}{Ge}_{x}$박막의 상변화에 의한 광특성)

  • In this paper, we investigated the stability of TeS1100-xTGeS1xT( x = 15,33,50 at. %) thin films by observing the transmittance and reflectance changes with annealing and exposure of diode laser(780nm). As results of transmittance changes in constant tenperature and humidity atmosphere, it was shown that TeS150TGeS150T thin film has the smallest transmittance change. From the XRD patterns, it was confirmed that the transmittance changes in TeS150TGeS150T thin film before and after annealing are due to crystalization. The transmittance changes in TeS150TGeS150T thin film with annealing are largest at diode laser wavelength and the trasmittance changes with laser exposure are decreased fast.

Characteristics of the protein and antioxidant contents in soybeans cultured with Phellinus linteus HN00K9 (목질진흙버섯 (Phellinus linteus) HN00K9 균사체 배양 대두의 단백질함량 및 항산화활성 특성)

  • In this study, the protein content and functional changes in soybeans cultured with Phellinus linteus HN00K9 were analyzed. P. linteus HN00K9 was cultured on soybeans. The crude protein content in soybeans cultured with HN00K9 (PMS) was 41.99%, which was higher than that in soybeans not cultured with the mushroom (UCS). The total free amino acid content in PMS increased to 39,963 mg/100 g, which was higher than that in UCS (36,817 mg/100 g). In particular, in PMS, glutamic acid accounted for 18.5% of the total amino acids at 7,413 mg/100 g. The total polyphenol content in PMS was 2.66 mg GAE/g, which was more than 45% higher than the amount in UCS (1.45 mg GAE/g). Additionally, PMS showed a DPPH radical scavenging activity of 33.3%, which was 3 times higher than that exhibited by UCS (11.5%), reflecting its high antioxidant content. Therefore, the PMS in this study has potential for use as a functional food material.

  • Single-PPM Quality Movement is perfect production movement which is suitable for 21C's social-economical criteria to pursuit of zero defect. This is advanced program of 100PPM Quality Renovation Movement which has been started in 1995, for single unit ppm. In this paper, through the review of 100PPM Movement's performance and problem solving procedure, we hope to find and discuss that how is an effective and compatible approach to realize the single-ppm quality in the small-and-medium size enterprises.

  • 100Gb/s급 WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) 광전송시스템은 10Gb/s 신호 (STM-64) 를 최대 16채널까지 파장분할다중화하는 광전송시스템으로서 단국형 모드 (TM: Terminal Mode)와 분기결합형 모드(ADM: Add-Drop Mode)를 고려한 통합형 구조로 설계, 구현되었다. 본 시스템은 10Gb/s 광신호를 싣는 각각의 채널파장(채널파장간격: 1.6nm)에 최대 16개(파장영역: $1536.61\sim1560.61nm$)까지 광채널 신호를 결합하여 하나의 광섬유로 전송하는 기능을 갖는다. 또한 광전달망 계층구간의 감시제어 기능과 시스템 운용관리 기능 및 사용자 터미널 접속 기능을 수행하는 감시제어 기능을 갖는다. 본 고에서는 개발중인 100Gb/s급 WDM 광전송시스템의 시스템개요, 하드웨어 구현, 감시제어 구현, 다채널 광전송 실험 등에 관해서 기술한다.

  • Ice accretion on aircraft surface in icing condition induces external shape changes that may result in a hazard factor for aircraft safety. In case of aircraft main wing with high lift equipment, ice accretion is observed around leading edge and flap. During the design phase, location of ice accretion and associated aerodynamic characteristics must be investigated. In this study, icing effects on aerodynamic characteristics of the main wing section of KC-100 aircraft are investigated using an Eulerian-based FENSAP-ICE code in various icing conditions.

  • This paper describes the design of a l0-bit 100 KSample/S CMOS A/D Converter for biomedical applications such as pulse oximetry, body weight scale, ECG etc. We adopted an asynchronous architecture in the 10-b DAC design and hence reduces the number of switches by 11 and resistors by 64 compared with the conventional l0-b DAC. We also reduced the power consumption compare with the conventional architecture by 0.4mW. Output offset cancellation technique is applied to the design of comparator. The total power consumption of designed circuit is 190uW at the supply voltage of 1.8V with the 0.18um general CMOS technology.

IALA의 S-200 표준개발 현황 및 계획

  • 국제항로표지협회(IALA)는 항로표지 국제표준을 개발하기 위해 항로표지의 설치 및 관리를 주관하는 기관으로 구성된 비 정부간 국제기구로서, e-Navigation을 고려하여 항로표지 분야의 정보 표준 개발을 위해 국제수로기구(IHO)의 S-100 표준을 적용하기로 결정하고, S-200의 이름으로 제품 표준(Product Specification)을 개발 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 IALA의 S-200 표준 개발 배경에 대해 검토하고, S-200의 제품 표준의 대표적인 사례인 S-210 IVEF, S-201 AtoN, S-220 MSI 등의 표준개발 현황과 계획을 정리 하였다. S-200 표준은 IALA가 핵심적으로 개발하는 표준이며, e-Navigation 체계에서의 각 서비스에서도 활용될 것으로 예상되므로, VTS 서비스 및 연구 담당자는 IALA의 S-200 표준 개발 내역 참조가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
