지반보의 응력-변형률 거동에 대한 해석법 비교 (Comparison of Two Methods for Analyzing Stress-Strain Behavior of Soil Beam)

  • 간극수압을 받는 지반보의 응력-변형률 거동 분석을 위해 해석해와 유한요소해석결과를 정량적으로 상호 비교해 보았다. 유한요소해석을 통해 얻은 수평응력은 해석해에 의한 결과와는 달리 지반보의 수평축에 대하여 대칭성을 보이지 않았으나 요소의 개수가 증가함에 따라 대칭에 가까운 형태를 보였다. 해석해에 의한 수평응력을 유한요소의 가우스점에 대하여 얻은 수평응력과 비교해 볼 때 3개의 요소를 고려한 유한요소해석을 통해 얻은 인장응력의 값은 해석해에 의한 최대 인장응력값의 6% 였고 압축응력의 값은 해석해에 의한 최대값의 37% 였다. 6개의 요소를 고려한 유한요소해석을 통해 얻은 인장응력의 값은 해석해를 통해 얻은 최대값의 61% 였고 압축응력의 값은 해석해를 통해 얻은 최대값의 83% 였다. 지반보 내에 발생되는 연직응력은 해석해에 의할 경우 보의 깊이에 따라 연속적인 분포양상을 보인다. 유한요소해석에 의한 연직응력은 유한요소를 구성하는 요소에 따라 이산적인 분포를 보이는데 요소내의 4개의 가우스점에 대하여 얻은 평균 연직응력은 지반보에 작용하는 간극수압의 크기에 가까운 값을 보였다. 지반보의 중앙 근처에서의 연직변위량을 비교해 볼 때 3개의 요소로 구성된 지반보에 대한 유한요소해석을 통해 얻은 값은 해석해에 의한 값의 35% 였으며 6개의 요소로 구성된 지반보에 대한 유한요소해석을 통해 얻은 값은 해석해에 의한 값의 57% 였다.

  • Given the structure of Korean mountains, it is more appropriate to apply the relative elevation method than the absolute elevation method. However, so far there were not suitable quantitative methodologies to analyze relative elevation, these analytical concepts were difficult to be utilized in urban environmental planning. This study suggested three methods for analyzing relative elevation, and one method for setting the analytical scope of relative elevation by calculating terrain relief. The results showed that the procedure considering 500m radius of each point and standardizing to 30% of the 7th height ridge was the most effective method to extract the local topography. This methodology is the quantitative tool to be able to conserve local important hills and ridges, and apply to fields of urban environmental planning and ecological restoration, especially urban ecological network.

Analysis of higher order composite beams by exact and finite element methods

  • In this paper, a two-layer partial interaction composite beams model considering the higher order shear deformation of sub-elements is built. Then, the governing differential equations and boundary conditions for static analysis of linear elastic higher order composite beams are formulated by means of principle of minimum potential energy. Subsequently, analytical solutions for cantilever composite beams subjected to uniform load are presented by Laplace transform technique. As a comparison, FEM for this problem is also developed, and the results of the proposed FE program are in good agreement with the analytical ones which demonstrates the reliability of the presented exact and finite element methods. Finally, parametric studies are performed to investigate the influences of parameters including rigidity of shear connectors, ratio of shear modulus and slenderness ratio, on deflections of cantilever composite beams, internal forces and stresses. It is revealed that the interfacial slip has a major effect on the deflection, the distribution of internal forces and the stresses.

  • In recent years spectral methods have been found to be a powerful tool for the numerical solution of hynamic differential equations. The main attraction of spectral method is accuracy even though it is generally difficult to implement and solve the complex problems using spectral method. We introduced diffusion equations describing the state of air pollution and solved by pseutospectral method in dimensionless form. The results were compared with both those of other numerical methods and analytical solutions. Comparing with finite difference method and finite element method, spectral method shows the highest accuracy for one dimension problem in this study. Also, the results of two dimensional diffusion problems show good agreement with analytical solutions.

  • A method of estimating the lower bound of coronal magnetic field strength in the neighborhood of an ejecting plasmoid is presented. Based on the assumption that the plasma ejecta is within a magnetic island, an analytical expression for the force acting on the ejecta is derived. The method is applied to a limb coronal mass ejection event, and a lower bound of the magnetic field strength just below the CME core is estimated. The method is expected to provide useful information on the strength of reconnecting magnetic field if applied to X-ray plasma ejecta.

  • This paper presents the analytical method to evaluate the seismic responses on steam turbine-generator rotor system. Deterministic analytical methods, such as response spectrum approach, modal superposition method and direct integration method, are used to calculate the seismic response. The computer software is also developed based on the methods then can be applied to estimate the seismic safety of turbine-generator rotor system for power plants. Numerical example of a steam turbine-generator rotor system of 1007MW nuclear power plant is presented. The aseismatic performance are checked by comparing maximum seismic deflection at bearing positions with bearing clearance.

  • Estimation for the vibration behavior of a nuclear fuel rod with its supporting structure called spacer grid has been made by the both of experimental and analytical methods in order to compare the supporting performance of two kinds of the spacer grids which have been newly developed. For the analytical method the fuel rod was modeled as a beam continuously supported by the springs of the spacer grid, and ABAQUS computer code was utilized. After a modal testing was performed for the fuel rod supported by five spacer grids, two results has been compared to justify and compensate the both methods. It has been found that the spring design of the spacer grid could give significant effect to natural frequency and vibration amplitude of the fuel rod.

  • In order for utilization of the concrete filled tubular, It Is necessary to scrutinize interfacial characteristics between heterogeneous materials, and be performed to various analytical studies on the composite structure. In this paper, this analytic study is carried on using ABAQUS Package/ Version 5.8-1, and the variables aye the relations between the coefficient of friction and the contact pressure for analyzing the behavior on the contact surface, through modifying the analytic methods and improving some problems. It is used to subdivided analytical methods in this research which categorize into four regions and can obtain closer effect for the bond behavior. Four categories compose of the chemical bond and mechanical bond legions replaced the full-interaction before yielding, and the pure friction and moving-down regions after yielding.

  • A review of stormwater quantity and quality in the urban environment is presented. The review is presented in three parts. The first part reviews the mathematical methods for stormwater quantity and has been undertaken by examining a number of stormwater models that are in current use. The important feature of models, their applications, and management has been discussed. Different types of stormwater management models are presented in the literatures. Generally, all the models are simplified as conceptual or empirical depending on whether the model is based on physical laws or not. In both cases if any of the variables in the model are regarded as random variables having a probability distribution, then the model is stochastic model. Otherwise the model is deterministic (based on process descriptions). The analytical techniques are presented in this paper.

습식 분해법을 이용한 해산물 중 총 비소 분석을 위한 전처리 방법 연구 (Study on the Pretreatment of Seafood for the Determination of Total Arsenic using Wet Ashing Method)

  • Pretreatment method for the determination of total arsenic in seafood sample was studied. NIST SRM 1566a oyster tissue ($14.0{\pm}1.2mg\;As/kg$) as a standard arsenic compound in order to establish the decomposition method. We confirmed that the best way for pretreatment of seafoods to analyze total arsenic content precisely was $HNO_3-H_2SO_4-HCIO_4$ method by comparison of two methods which are dry ashing and wet ashing methods.
