  • In this paper, the transient shielding characteristics of slitted electrothermal shield of superconducting alternator is studied. The field current and the armature currents variations during three phase short circuit fault are calculated and compared to those of the conventional one. And the response of the armature current due to step-up of the excitation voltage showes the feasibility of the quick response excitation system available for improving the transient stability.

승용차용 교류발전기의 고정자 슬롯 수가 소음에 미치는 영향 분석 (Analysis on Noise of Automotive Alternator Considering the Number of Stator Slots)

  • Noise of automotive alternators can be classified into mechanical noise, aerodynamic noise and electro-magnetic noise. which is the same as for electric motors. Previous studies show that the elect ro-magnetic noise takes a maw peak at the rotating frequency multiplied by the number of stator slots. It has not been proved clearly so far, however, that the major peak is wholely due to the stator slots. On the contrary it is well known that noise of motors. which has a mechanism similar to the alternator except that the number of stator slots in automotive alternators is in gene\integer multiple of that of rotor segments, is closely related to the number of rotor slots. Therefore, the statement that only the stator slots is the source of the major peak in the noise spectrum of alternators is suspicious although not easy, to show theoretically, that the statement is incorrect. In this paper. effects of the stator slots on the noise in an automotive alternator are experimentally investigated by intentionally modifying the number of stator slots in such a way that the number of the states is not an integer multiples of the rotor slots. It is shown that both the stator slots are not so much influential as the rotor slots and claimed that the major peak in the noise spectrum of conventional alternators is due to superposition of a component caused by the stator and a higher harmonic component caused by the rotor

  • 재제조는 사용 후 제품을 체계적으로 회수하여 분해, 세척, 검사, 보수조정, 재조립 등의 공정을 거쳐 원래의 성능을 유지할 수 있도록 만드는 과정이다. 자동차 교류발전기를 재제조하기 위해서는 재제조품에 요구되는 품질 및 신뢰성을 확실히 달성하기 위하여 공정 별 복잡한 작업들에 대하여 세부적인 사항들을 결정하고 이를 설계하는 일이 중요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 재제조를 위한 최적의 공정설계를 위해 FMEA를 활용한 체계적인 가이드라인을 제시하여 재제조품의 품질 및 신뢰성을 확보하는데 있다. 코어 부품의 상태 수준에 따른 작업과정과 재정비여부를 결정하기 위해 위험성 지표에 의한 방법도 연구되었다. 특히, 재제조기업의 사례연구를 통하여 FMEA의 유용성과 가이드라인의 적절성을 보여준다.

  • In this paper examine the characteristics of the generator supplying the most significant electrical energy in some parts required to drive the vehicle, and it is focused on to fabricate a performance evaluation unit for developing alternator with better performance. Through performance tests in accordance with the electrical load of alternators that is made in Valeo Corp. and Denso Corp., which are currently applied by H Corp., the fabricated performance evaluation unit has measured the power generation amount of the electrical energy supplied from the alternator, and it was analyzed. On the basis of this result, and to understand the flow of electrical energy of the vehicle, furthermore, it is intended to verify the usefulness of the performance evaluation unit which is designed in this paper. In this paper, based on the mechanism of the proposed performance evaluation unit, it will try to learn the convergence technology that can be applied to the design of the performance evaluation unit of other components of the vehicle.

신재생 에너지원 활용을 위한 어선 전력계통 분석 및 모델링 (Analysis and Modeling of Fishing Boat's Power Network for using Renewable Energy Source)

  • A modeling method of electric power network inside a fishing boat less than 5 tons is proposed for its high-energy efficiency with renewable energy sources. The power network inside the fishing boat consists of a diesel engine, a starter motor, an alternator, battery packs, and electric loads, which are connected in parallel. To obtain proper power network model, the voltage -current characteristics of the electric components are considered to develop elaborate electrical models under several load conditions. Measured data of the battery and alternator current include noise. By using an average method, the AC components from the power network of the fishing boat can be reduced, which is verified by KCL rule. Using the proposed power network model, the power generation of the alternator and the reduction of diesel consumption in the boat's engine are predictable under various operating conditions. The validity of the proposed methodology is verified by comparing simulation results with experimental measurements using statistical inferences.

  • The objective of this paper is the development of the forward-looking dynamic simulation model of a hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) for a fuel economy study. The specification of the vehicle is determined based on two factors, engine peak power to curb weight ratio and specific engine power. The steady state efficiency models of the powertrain components are explained in detail. These include a spark ignition direct injection(SIDI) engine, an integrated starter alternator(ISA), and an infinitely variable transmission(IVT). The paper describes the integration of these models into a forward facing dynamic simulation diagram using the AMESim environment. Appropriate vehicle and driver models have been added and described. The controller was designed in Simulink and was combined with the physical powertrain model by the co-simulation interface. Finally, the simulation results of the HEV are compared with those of a baseline vehicle in order to demonstrate the fuel economy potential. Results for the vehicle speed error and the fuel economy over standard driving cycles are illustrated.

  • About 70% of energy input to internal combustion engine is rejected to atmosphere by heat. By utilizing this waste heat, a plenty of energy can be conserved in nationwide. One of possible ways is the thermoelectric generation to utilize engine's waste heat to provide auxiliary electric power. Under th is concept, we have been developing the thermoelectric generation system to replace the alternator by converting the waste heat in the engine's exhaust directly to electricity This system may reduce the shaft horse power of the engine, then improves the vehicle fuel economy and the exhaust emissions. In the present study, the characteristics of the electric energy and exhaust heal energy in city and highway mode driving conditions are analysed by using a gasoline passenger car. These results would be used to determine the optimum design parameters of the thermoelectric generation system.

  • 본 논문에서는 자동차 핵심부품 중 하나인 알터네이터 수풀의 육안검사를 대체하기 위한 머신비전시스템을 개발하는 목적이 있다. 플라스틱 사출물의 경우 일반적으로 미성형, 찍힘, 뜯김, 크랙 등의 불량 유형이 발생하는 데, 이를 전수검사하기 위한 머신비전 시스템의 설계와 검사 알고리즘을 개발하고자 한다. 개발된 시스템은 산업현장에 적용하여 절대적판정의 안정성을 도모하고, 생산성 향상 및 부품의 표준화를 확립하는 데 기여할 수 있다.

  • To clarify the cause of backfire occurrence and realize a hydrogen fueled engine linear alternator system, dynamic characteristics of a free-piston hydrogen engine were analyzed and compared with those of conventional reciprocating engines. It was found that the mean velocity and acceleration of a free-piston engine were higher than those of reciprocating engines. Piston displacement and compression ratio were varied with the change of the fuel mass flow rate. Therefore, the operational stability and controllability were the most important thinks of the development of a free-piston hydrogen engine.

  • This paper presents a model and simulation for the korean type multi-propulsion system consisting of a gas turbine driven synchronous alternator coupled to a rectifier and dc-to-dc converter. The simulation modules include turbine system, alternator and rectifier, dc-to-dc converter, power management module. A modular, system level simulation of the propulsion system prototype is presented in order to confirm stability for loads with uncertain input impedances and uncertain control loop speeds.
