탈지인삼 첨가식이 급식 후 교체급식이 흰쥐의 Cholesterol 함량에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Defatted Korean Ginseng on the Cholesterol Level of Rat by Alternating the Diet)

  • This study was divised to observe the effects of defatted(by petroleum ether) Korean ginseng on the cholesterol level of Sprague-Dowley Albino male rats by alternating the diet. 130 heads of weaned rats having 83$\pm$4g of body weight were fed with each stock diets supplemented with 0.5, 1.0 and 3.0% defatted ginseng powder for 4 or 8 weeks, and after that fed with stock diet only for 8 or 4 weeks. Total cholesterol and free form cholesterol contents in serum, liver and aorta of them were determined, and compared with the each corresponding group which was fed with defatted ginseng control diet for 12 weeks. Total cholesterol and free form cholesterol contents in the serum were increased caused by the alternating diets which was fed on 0.5, 1.0 and 3.0% defatted ginseng diet for 4 and 8 weeks after being fed on stock diet for 8 and 4 weeks, conversely total cholesterol contents in the aorta were decreased by the same alternating diets. Free form cholesterol contents in the serum, liver and aorta of the group which was fed on 1.0% defatted ginseng diet 8 weeks after being fed on stock diet for 4 weeks were increased, but that of the group which was fed alternately on 3.0% defatted ginseng diet were decreased than the corresponding defatted ginseng control diet group.

교체급식에 의한 인삼분 첨가식이가 백서의 체성분에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Panax Ginseng on the Some Components of Rat by Alternating the Diet.)

  • This study was divised to observe the effects of ginseng on the body components of Sprague-Dowley Albino male rats by alternating the diet. Just weaned rats (130 heads, weighing(83 ${\pm}$ 4g) were fed with each stock diets supplemented with 0.5, 1.0 or 3.0% ginseng powder for 4 weeks or 8 weeks, and after that fed with stock diet only for 8 or 4 weeks. Compared with the each corresponding group which was fed with ginseng control diet, the protein, total lipid, total cholesterol and free cholesterol contains in serum, liver and aorta of them were determined. The results obtained was summarized as follows ; Protein and total lipid contents of the rat were decreased, caused by the alternating diets, but total cholesterol and free cholesterol contents were increased in the serum, protein and free cholesterol contents increased, conversely total lipid contents decreased in the liver, and in aorta total lipid and total cholesterol contents decreased, In the view of the above results, it can be seen that the alternating diet (stock diet after feeding with ginseng diet) has an influence on the body components of rat.

보상성장에 의한 에너지 섭취량 조절이 흰쥐의 유생산능력과 유단백질 유전자 발현에 미치는 영향 (Compensatory nutrition-Mediated Lactation Potential and Milk Protein Gene Expression in Rats)

  • The objective of this study was to determine the extent to which the compensatory nutrition regimen modulates lactation performance and milk protein gene expression in the first and second lactation cycles. Female rats(28 days of age) were assigned to 1)control ad libitum ; 2) stari-step compensatory nutrition(SSCN) regimen an alternating 3-2-3-4-week schedule beginning with an energy restriction diet(40% restriction) for 3 weeks followed by the control diet(ad libitum) for 2 weeks and then alternating another 3-4 week feeding regimen. The SSCN rats were received an overall 20% energy restriction(average from all stair-step periods) compared with the conventionally fed control group. Rats were bred during the first week of the second realimentation. All pups were weaned on day 21 of lactation. About 1 week after weaning all dams were mated for the second pregnancy. Mammary tissues were obtained from pregnant and lactating rats during the first and second lactation cycles. During these lactation cycles the SSCN group had a 11% increase in average lactation performance over that of control. The SSCN group had significantly increased levels of milk protein gene($\alpha$- and $\beta$-casein) expression in mammary tissues during the first lactation cycle compared with those of the control group. During the second lactation period the levels of milk protein gene expression in lactating mammary tissues of the SSCN group were also higher than those of the control group. These results suggest that the effects of compensatory growth imposed at an early age extend to the second lactation cycle with regard to increased lactation performance and milk protein gene expression.

사료의 희석 및 무급여일 설정방법에 의한 조기제한사양이 육계의 보상성장과 사료효율 및 복강지방 축적에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Early-life Feed Restriction with Diet, Dilution or Skip-feeding Programs on Compensatory Growth, Feed Efficiency, and Abdominal Pat, Pad Deposition in Broilers)

  • 본 시험은 왕겨에 의한 사료의 희석과 무급여일 설정방법에 의한 조기제한사양이 육계의 보상성장과 사료효율 및 체지방 축적에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 7일령된 무감별 육계 300수를 5처리 3반복, 반복당 20수씩 공시하여 7일령에서부터 49일령까지 실시하였다. 대조구(C)는 7일령부터 49일령까지 전기간 육계 전기사료와 후기사료를 자유채식을 시켰으며, 시험구(71-74)들은 모두 7일령부터 14일령까지 육계전기사료와 왕겨를 50:50(wt/wt)으로 혼합한 희석사료를 급여하였으며, 제한사양기간동안 T1은 희석사료를 자유채식시켰으며, T2는 1일절식-3일급여, T3는 1일절식∼2일급여 및 T4는 1일절식∼1일급여하였고, 제한 사양이 끝난 시험구들은 전기사료 및 후기사료를 자유채식시켰다. 제한사양기간을 포함한 21일령까지의 증체량과 21일령 체중 모두 T1은 대조구와 유의적 차이가 없었으나 다른 시험구들은 대조구보다 적었다(P<0.05). 22일령부터 49일령가지의 증체량은 T1구가 대조구와 유의적인 차이는 없었으나 가장 높은 증체를 보였다. 전기간인 7일령부터 49일령 까지의 증체량과 49일령 체중도 T1구만 대조구와 유의적인 차이가 없었고 다른 시험구들은 대조구보다 적었다(P<0.05) .제한사양후부터 21일령까지의 사료섭취량은 T1구를 제외한 나머지 시험구에서는 대조구에 비해 유의적으로 적었으며 (P<0.05) , 전기간 셥취량도 T1구만 대조구와 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 희석사료섭취기간의 왕겨섭취량을 제외한 육계사료 섭취량에서는 모든 시험구들이 대조구에 비해 유의적으로 적게 섭취하였다(P<0.05) 제한사양기간을 포함한 7일령부터 21일령까지의 사료요구율은 T1구와 T2구가 대조구에 비해 유의적으로 높았으며(P<0.05), 22일령부터 49일령가지의 사료요구율은 대조구에 비해 모든 시험구들이 유의적으로 낮았으며(P<0.05), 전기간동안의 사료요구율은 T1구를 제외한 나머지 시험구들은 대조구에 비해서 유의적으로 낮았으나(P<0.05) , 희석사료섭취기간의 왕겨섭취 량을 제외 한 육계 사료요구율은 대조구에 비해서 모든 시험구들이 유의적으로 낮거나(P<0. 05) 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 복강내 지방함량 및 전기간 폐사율은 처리간에 유의적 차이가 없었다.

풀무치 사육을 위한 보조먹이로서 반합성 인공사료 (A Meridic Artificial Diet as a Supporting Meal for Locusta migratoria Rearing)

  • 풀무치[Locusta migratoria (메뚜기목: 메뚜기과)]를 사육할 때 보조먹이로서 전지분유, 밀기울, 옥수수잎 가루, 설탕을 주성분으로 한 혼합 인공사료를 제조하였다. 갓부화 약충에 인공사료만을 제공하여 성충 사망 때까지 사육하였을 때, 다음 세대 집단을 얻지 못했다. 인공사료를 매일 제공하면서 옥수수 잎을 하루걸러 제공하였을 때도 다음 세대 개체를 얻지 못했다. 그러나 인공사료와 옥수수 잎을 하루걸러 번갈아 제공하였을 때는 이후 4세대까지 사육이 가능하였다. 성충의 생식력도 옥수수 잎과 인공사료를 매일 같이 제공한 경우보다, 두 먹이를 하루걸러 번갈아 제공한 경우가 더 높았다. 이상의 결과로 본 연구에서 개발된 인공사료를 주먹이인 식물체의 보조먹이로 삼아 일정기간 풀무치 집단 유지에 이용할 수 있을 것으로 추정되었다.

Effects of supplementation cysteine-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles compared to FeSO4, on reproductive performance in male quail

  • Iron has a crucial role in growth as part of metalo-proteins like haemoglobin or myoglobin, enzymes; they are also involved in energetic reactions. Iron plays a vital role in fertility. At high doses, Iron has a harmful consequence on the reproductive system, which can be strongly reflected the final stage of spermatogenesis. Nutritional products are claiming to use nanotechnology and it is important to recognize the potential toxicity of nano-sized nutrients. Recently iron nanoparticles were proposed as a food additive for poultry. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of L-cystein coated iron oxide nanoparticles on reproductive performance in male quails. The results of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer, Alternating Gradient Force Magnetometer and Scaning Electron Microscopy showed that iron oxide nanoparticles was produced and have been coated with L-cycstein (Fe3O4-Cys NPs). A total of 100 one-week-old quail chicks were randomly placed to five groups of five replicates. Four quails (two male and two females) were raised in an individual cage for each replicate. The five experimental treatment diets consisted; negative control diet, with no Iron supplementation; positive control diet supplemented with 60 mg/kg of Fe3O4; treatment diets supplemented with 0.6, 6 and 60 mg/kg of L-cystein coated iron oxide nanoparticles. The hemoglobin, Red blood cell, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, gonadal somatic index, daily sperm production, total testicular sperm and sperm viability of the male quails that were fed with diet supplemented by 0.6 mg/kg of Fe3O4-Cys NPs were improved as compare with negative control. This study showed that not only the use of the Fe3O4-Cys nanoparticles had no side effects but also it can be used as a feed additive to improve the reproductive performance in male quails.

Effects of Controlled Compensatory Growth on Mammary Gland Development and Lactation in Rats

  • The objective of this study was to examine the effect of compensatory growth nutritional regimen on mammary gland growth and lactation. One hundred twenty-two Sprague Dawley female rats (35 days of age) were randomly assigned to either a control or a stair-step compensatory nutrition (SSCN) feeding regimen or an alternating 2-2-3-3-week schedule beginning with 40% energy restriction for 2 weeks followed by re-alimentation (control diet) for 2 weeks. Pup weight gain and milk yield were improved 8% and 8 to 15%, respectively, by the SSCN regimen. The gene expression of $\beta$-casein was 2.3-fold greater in the SSCN group than in the control group during early lactation, but they were greater at all stages of the second lactation. The gene expression of insulin-like growth factor-I was 40% lower in the SSCN group than in the control group during early lactation of the second lactation, but during late lactation it was 80% greater than in the control group. The concentration of serum corticosterone tended to be higher in the SSCN group during the late stage of the first lactation. These results suggest that the stair-step compensatory nutrition regimen improves lactation performance and persistency by modulation of cell differentiation and apoptotic cell death.

난황 경구투여가 랫드의 콜레스테롤 대사에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Oral Administration of Egg Yolk on Cholesterol Metabolism in Rats)

  • 본 연구는 계란 난황을 경구투여 한 랫드에서 혈액 지질감소에 관한 생화학적 대사기전을 규명하기 위하여 수행하였다. 36마리의 Sprague Dawley 숫컷 랫드를 4처리구 3반복으로 완전임의 배치하였다. 6주 동안 동일한 정제고형식이를 급여하면서 매일 한번 씩 난황을 경구투여 하였다. 대조군(C; 생리식염수 1.0 g), T1(삼겹살 기름 1.0 g), T2(난황 1.0 g), T3(삼겹살 기름 1.0g 과 난황 1.0 g을 각각 1주일씩 교체 투여군)으로 구분하였다. 일일평균 증체량은 T1이 가장 높았고 T3, T2, C 순서로 낮게 나타났다. 혈액 중성지방과 총콜레스테롤은 T1이 가장 높았고 C, T3, T2 순서로 낮게 나타났다. HDL-C는 T2가 가장 높았고 C, T3, T1 순서로 낮게 나타났으나 LDL-C는 T1이 가장 높았고 T3, C, T2 순서로 높게 나타났다. 간 기능을 나타내는 지표 AST, ALT는 T1에서 가장 높았고 T2가 가장 낮게 나타났다. 복강지방을 제외한 간, 비장, 신장의 무게는 각 처리구 사이에 차이는 없었다. 복강지방은 T1이 가장 높았으나 C, T2, T3사이의 차이는 없었다. HMG-CoA reductase activity는 T1이 가장 높았고 T3, C 순서로 낮게 나타났으며 T2는 가장 낮았다. 분을 통하여 배설되는 일일 총스테롤, 중성스테롤, 산성스테롤의 배설량은 T2가 가장 높았으나 T1은 가장 낮았다. 본 연구결과는 계란의 섭취가 동물의 간에서 콜레스테롤 합성효소의 활성을 억제함과 동시에 분을 통한 스테롤의 배설을 촉진시켜줌으로써 혈액 지질을 낮춘다는 사실을 확인하였다.
