계면활성제의 TMV 감염저지 효과 (Inhibitory Activity of Surfactants against Tobacco Mosaic Virus Infection)

  • $AOS(\alpha-olefin),$ LAS(linear alkyl benzene), OSS(dioctyl sulfosuccinate) 및 SAS (dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid)등 4종 계면활성제의 TMV 감염저지 효과를 잎담배 품종 Xan-thi-nc 및 NC 82를 이용하여 조사하였다. 각 계면활성제를 2,500ppm 농도로 담배잎에 처리한 경우 바이러스(TMV) 또는 TMV RNA를 접종했을 때 모두 98% 이상의 감염저지 효과를 나타냈다. 그러나 이들을 담배 근권토양에 처리 3일후 잎에 Virus를 접종하여 병징 및 엽중 Virus 농도를 조사한 결과 무처리구와 차이가 없어 침투이행에 의한 TMV 감염저지 효과는 인정되지 않았다. 순화된 바이러스를 각 계면활성제 2,500ppm 용액과 혼합한 후 초고속원심분리에 의해 다시 Virus를 회수하여 활성을 조사한 결과 LAS는 96% 이상 Virus를 불활성화시켰으며, 이 외는 바이러스 활성에 영향을 미치지 못했다. 또 각 계면활성제가 처리된 Virus 입자의 형태는 무처리입자와 차이가 없었다. 이같은 결과들로 미루어 4종의 계면활성제가 나타낸 TMV 감염저지 효과는 바이러스 입자의 파괴 또는 감염초기 바이러스 입자의 외피 단백질 탈피억제에 의한 것이 아닌 것으로 판단된다.

  • Synthetic detergents and surfactants are in widespread usage as household and industrial detergents. Potential human toxic hazard arises following percutaneous absorption or oral ingestion of solution residues from kitchen and feeding utensils, fruits, and vegetables and contaminated water supplies. A toxicological investigations was performed with the synthetic detergents and surfactants [linear alkyl benzene sulfonate (LAS), ${\alpha}$-olefin sulfonate (AOS), sodium lauryl sulfonate (SLS), sodium lauryl ester sulfonate (SLES)], In acute toxicity, agents were administered subcutaneously into ICR mice. In acute study, after lowering of spontaneous motility, respiratory failure, death appeared, vomitting was often associated with salivation and or retching. No sex difference was observed in LD$\sub$50/ of mice. In subacute toxicity, agents were administered orally into SD rats. Body weight increase was suppressed and there was no adverse effect on food and water consumption. The weight of organs were not changed by agents as compared with control group. No specific change was observed in biochemical and hematologicalor data.

  • Research for the synthesis of high-temperature polymers by the photochemical method has been carrying out. The use of cheap and available compounds (viz. benzene, its alkyl, aryl and halogen substitutes, furan and maleic anhydride) subject to ultra violet irradiation resulted in a single stage quantitative yield of about 40 new polymers: polyimide films, enamel insulation, molding materials. At present experimental & industrial lots of wire have been produced. Polymer insulation possesses temperature exploitation range (from -l00$^{\circ}C$ to +300$^{\circ}C$ ) without significant changing of properties. As a result, new polyimide lacquers for production of a wide number of technical articles, such as polyimide films, fibres, enamel-wires, press-materials have been synthesized. An application field of the polyimides in membrane technology, printing plate and optic electronics manufactures has been outlined.

  • Properties of aqueous solution, that is, the viscosities and solubilities of benzene were observed in relation to critical micelle concentration of each alkyl aldehyde polyoxyethylene glycol acetal type surfactant. These showed that the mininum points in specific viscosity/concentration-concentration curves were corresponded with the critical micelle concentration obtained by surface tension and appeared the remarkable increase of non-Newtonics according to the increase of the number of carbon in hydrophobic groups. The fluidity of non-Newtonics is not observed by a little increase of the degree of polymerization in polyoxyethylene glycol groups.

  • Component having antioxidant activity on lard during heating was separated from hexane extract of spinach, and its characteristic chemical structure was speculated through nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, and Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry. Lard was heated with hexane-, ethyl ether-, ethyl acetate-, or ethanol extract of spinach at $180^{\circ}C$ for 20 hr. Hexane extract of spinach, having highest antioxidant activity on lard during heating, was fractionated by silicic acid column chromatography (SACC), and SACC fractions having higher antioxidant activity on lard during heating were further separated by thin layer chromatography (TLC). Isolated compound from SACC fractions of hexane extract of spinach by TLC had sugar moieties and benzene ring along with hydroxy, carbonyl, and alkyl groups in the structure.

  • In order to synthesize N,N-di-(polyoxyethylene) perfluoroacyl amines and the surface active monoperfluoroacyl aza crown ethers, it is performed as follow. Six of N,N-di(polyoxyethylene) perfluoro acyl amines were synthesized from perfluoroalkanoic acids with ethanol followed by oxyethylation with triethylene glycol mono chloride or tetra ethylene glycol mono chloride and six of N-perfluor acyl monoaza crown ethers by cyclization of corresponding N,N-di(polyoxy ethylene} perfluoro acyl amines with p-toluene suflonic chloride-NaOH/dioxane, p-toluene sulfonyl chloride KOH/dioxane and benzene sulfonic chloride-KOH/dioxane systems.

  • The effect of $^{60}Co$ are discussed with regard to radiochemical destruction detergent. The study deals specifically with the effect gamma radiation from $^{60}Co$ source upon aquous solution of detergent. Test on biodegradation of A B S (solium alkyl benzene sulfonate) under the waste-water prior to the detergent conversion to biodegradable surfactants. The reason for removal of A B S was their extreme environmental stability and the associateo appearance of foam in waste water treatment plants. Although the A B S are considered biodegradable the time required for biodegradation in practical with the present environmental guidelines.

  • HZSM-5, synthesized in fluoride medium, showed high selectivity for the formation of 1,4-diethylbenzene (1,4-DEB) in the vapour phase ethylation of ethylbenzene (EB) with ethanol and hence becomes a convenient eco-friendly substitute for hazardous mineral acid catalysts. De-ethylation of EB to benzene was also minimized over this catalyst. As the medium pore size and presence of weak and medium acid sites might be the cause of such benefits, fluoride mediated synthesis of ZSM-5 is proven to be advantageous for para-selective alkylation of alkyl aromatics.

  • 潤滑再生油의 酸化安定性이 向上되는 機構를 알기 爲하여 第一報에서 만든 試料와 輕油을 混合한 것과 輕油에다 添加劑(알킬벤젠과 페놀형물질)를 混合한 試料의 酸化安定性能 試驗을 하여 內然機關에서 使用한 潤滑廢油의 再生油가 酸化安定性이 向上되었음을 알았고 使用途中 芳香族化合物, 特히 페놀型 有機物의 生成에 基因한다는 結論을 얻었다.

  • A series of 3, 4-dihydro-3-oxo-2H-1, 2, 4-benzothiadiazine-1, 1, dioxides with cytotoxic activity against human solid tumors is described. Synthesized compounds showed mild but broad spectrum cytotoxicity in vitro. The lipophilic substituents like alkyl, alkoxy and chloro on benzene ring increased the activity. Also hydrophobic group on 3 or 4 position of benzothiadiazine was important for the activity.
