As we live a life increasingly mediated by computers, we often outsource our critical judgments to artificial intelligence(AI)-based algorithms. Most of us have become quite dependent upon algorithms: computers are now recommending what we see, what we buy, and who we befriend with. What happens to our lives and identities when we use statistical models, algorithms, AI, to make a decision for us? This paper is a preliminary attempt to chronicle a historical trajectory of judging people's economic and moral worth, namely the history of credit-rating within the context of the history of capitalism. More importantly this paper will critically review the history of credit-rating from its earlier conception to the age of big data and algorithmic evaluation, in order to ask questions about what the political implications of outsourcing our judgments to computer models and artificial intelligence would be. Some of the questions I would like to ask in this paper are: by whom and for what purposes is the computer and artificial intelligence encroached into the area of judging people's economic and moral worth? In what ways does the evolution of capitalism constitute a new mode of judging people's financial and personal identity, namely the rated self? What happens in our self-conception and identity when we are increasingly classified, evaluated, and judged by computer models and artificial intelligence? This paper ends with a brief discussion on the political implications of the outsourcing of human judgment to artificial intelligence, and some of the analytic frameworks for further political actions.

This study explored the concept of artificial intelligence and the problem-solving process that can be explained through literature research. Through this study, the educational meaning and application plan of artificial intelligence that can be explained were presented. XAI education is a human-centered artificial intelligence education that deals with human-related artificial intelligence problems, and students can cultivate problem-solving skills. In addition, through algorithmic education, it is possible to understand the principles of artificial intelligence, explain artificial intelligence models related to real-life problem situations, and expand to the field of application of artificial intelligence. In order for such XAI education to be applied in elementary schools, examples related to real world must be used, and it is recommended to utilize those that the algorithm itself has interpretability. In addition, various teaching and learning methods and tools should be used for understanding to move toward explanation. Ahead of the introduction of artificial intelligence in the revised curriculum in 2022, we hope that this study will be meaningfully used as the basis for actual classes.

In this paper, we implemented a scalar multiplier needed at an elliptic curve cryptosystem over standard basis in $GF(2^{163})$. The scalar multiplier consists of a radix-16 finite field serial multiplier and a finite field inverter with some control logics. The main contribution is to develop a new fast finite field inverter, which made it possible to avoid time consuming iterations of finite field multiplication. We used an algorithmic transformation technique to obtain a data-independent computational structure of the Extended Euclid GCD algorithm. The finite field multiplier and inverter shown in this paper have regular structure so that they can be easily extended to larger word size. Moreover they can achieve 100% throughput using the pipelining. Our new scalar multiplier is synthesized using Hyundai Electronics 0.6$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS library, and maximum operating frequency is estimated about 140MHz. The resulting data processing performance is 64Kbps, that is it takes 2.53ms to process a 163-bit data frame. We assure that this performance is enough to be used for digital signature, encryption & decryption and key exchange in real time embedded-processor environments.

Algorithmic trading, which uses algorithms to trade financial products, has a problem in that the results are not stable due to many factors in the market. To alleviate this problem, ensemble techniques that combine trading algorithms have been proposed. However, there are several problems with this ensemble method. First, the trading algorithm may not be selected so as to satisfy the minimum performance requirement (more than random) of the algorithm included in the ensemble, which is a necessary requirement of the ensemble. Second, there is no guarantee that an ensemble model that performed well in the past will perform well in the future. In order to solve these problems, a method for selecting trading algorithms included in the ensemble model is proposed as follows. Based on past data, we measure the contribution of the trading algorithms included in the ensemble models with high performance. However, for contributions based only on this historical data, since there are not enough past data and the uncertainty of the past data is not reflected, the contribution distribution is approximated using the Dirichlet distribution, and the contribution values are sampled from the contribution distribution to reflect the uncertainty. Based on the contribution distribution of the trading algorithm obtained from the past data, the Transformer is trained to predict the future contribution. Trading algorithms with high predicted future contribution are selected and included in the ensemble model. Through experiments, it was proved that the proposed ensemble method showed superior performance compared to the existing ensemble methods.

There are various optimization problems in real world and research continues to solve them. An optimization problem is the problem of finding a combination of parameters that maximizes or minimizes the objective function. Harmony search is a population-based metaheuristic algorithm for solving optimization problems and it is designed to mimic the improvisation of jazz music. Harmony search has been actively applied to optimization problems in various fields such as civil engineering, computer science, energy, medical science, and water quality engineering. Harmony search has a simple working principle and it has the advantage of finding good solutions quickly in constrained optimization problems. Especially there are various application cases showing high accuracy with a low number of iterations by improving the solution through the empirical derivative. In this paper, we explain working principle of Harmony search and classify the leading research in recent 3 years, review them according to category, and suggest future research directions. The research is divided into review by field, algorithmic analysis and theory, and application to real world problems. Application to real world problems is classified according to the purpose of optimization and whether or not they are hybridized with other metaheuristic algorithms.

In this study, we developed a system to dynamically balance a daily stock portfolio and performed trading simulations using gradient boosting and genetic algorithms. We collected various stock market data from stocks listed on the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets, including investor-specific transaction data. Subsequently, we indexed the data as a preprocessing step, and used feature engineering to modify and generate variables for training. First, we experimentally compared the performance of three popular gradient boosting algorithms in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, including XGBoost, LightGBM, and CatBoost. Based on the results, in a second experiment, we used a LightGBM model trained on the collected data along with genetic algorithms to predict and select stocks with a high daily probability of profit. We also conducted simulations of trading during the period of the testing data to analyze the performance of the proposed approach compared with the KOSPI and KOSDAQ indices in terms of the CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate), MDD (Maximum Draw Down), Sharpe ratio, and volatility. The results showed that the proposed strategies outperformed those employed by the Korean stock market in terms of all performance metrics. Moreover, our proposed LightGBM model with a genetic algorithm exhibited competitive performance in predicting stock price movements.

This study is a study on the filter bubble reinforcement phenomenon of SNS recommendation algorithm such as YouTube, which is a characteristic of the Russian-Ukraine war (2022), and the victory or defeat factors of the hybrid war. This war is identified as a hybrid war, and the use of New Media based on the SNS recommendation algorithm is emerging as a factor that determines the outcome of the war beyond political leverage. For this reason, the filter bubble phenomenon goes beyond the dictionary meaning of confirmation bias that limits information exposed to viewers. A YouTube video of Ukrainian President Zelensky encouraging protests in Kyiv garnered 7.02 million views, but Putin's speech only 800,000, which is a evidence that his speech was not exposed to the recommendation algorithm. The war of these SNS recommendation algorithms tends to develop into an algorithm war between the US (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook) and China (TikTok) big tech companies. Influenced by US companies, Ukraine is now able to receive international support, and in Russia, under the influence of Chinese companies, Putin's approval rating is over 80%, resulting in conflicting results. Since this algorithmic empowerment is based on the confirmation bias of public opinion by 'filter bubble', the justification that a new guideline setting for this distortion phenomenon should be presented shortly is drawing attention through this Russia-Ukraine war.

Coastal debris has emerged as a salient issue due to its adverse effects on coastal aesthetics, ecological systems, and human health. In pursuit of effective countermeasures, the present study delineated the construction of a specialized image dataset for coastal debris detection and embarked on a comparative analysis between two paramount real-time object detection algorithms, YOLOv8 and RT-DETR. Rigorous assessments of robustness under multifarious conditions were instituted, subjecting the models to assorted distortion paradigms. YOLOv8 manifested a detection accuracy with a mean Average Precision (mAP) value ranging from 0.927 to 0.945 and an operational speed between 65 and 135 Frames Per Second (FPS). Conversely, RT-DETR yielded an mAP value bracket of 0.917 to 0.918 with a detection velocity spanning 40 to 53 FPS. While RT-DETR exhibited enhanced robustness against color distortions, YOLOv8 surpassed resilience under other evaluative criteria. The implications derived from this investigation are poised to furnish pivotal directives for algorithmic selection in the practical deployment of marine debris monitoring systems.
This research is a comparative analysis of the U.S. S&P 500 index using the volatility breakout strategy against the Buy and Hold approach. The volatility breakout strategy is a trading method that exploits price movements after periods of relative market stability or concentration. Specifically, it is observed that large price movements tend to occur more frequently after periods of low volatility. When a stock moves within a narrow price range for a while and then suddenly rises or falls, it is expected to continue moving in that direction. To capitalize on these movements, traders adopt the volatility breakout strategy. The 'k' value is used as a multiplier applied to a measure of recent market volatility. One method of measuring volatility is the Average True Range (ATR), which represents the difference between the highest and lowest prices of recent trading days. The 'k' value plays a crucial role for traders in setting their trade threshold. This study calculated the 'k' value at a general level and compared its returns with the Buy and Hold strategy, finding that algorithmic trading using the volatility breakout strategy achieved slightly higher returns. In the future, we plan to present simulation results for maximizing returns by determining the optimal 'k' value for automated trading of the S&P 500 index using artificial intelligence deep learning techniques.

Satellite-derived data is collected by observing the Earth and is used in various fields such as national defense, natural disasters, location-based services, infrastructure, environment, energy, marine, and insurance. This study aims to present the virtuous cycle structure of the satellite information data industry and the business ecosystem model of the industry. As a research method, cases were collected and categorized from the following areas: literature, online, application, and content. The results show that the ecosystem model of the satellite information data industry provides an approach to content services in public and commercial areas, and develops various algorithmic technologies to facilitate content production and services at the level of complex general-purpose technologies. Second, in terms of content typology, satellite information data can be subdivided into monitoring content, urban space monitoring content, and satellite information content. Third, the consumption value of satellite content could be subdivided into informational value, environmental, social and governance (ESG) value, educational value, and content value. In order to expand the global content market, Korea will need to focus on creating an ecosystem for the satellite information industry and discovering differentiated content. It will also need to increase the popularization and accessibility of data to the general public and promote the Korean K-Satellite Information Data Industry ecosystem through government support, policy efforts, and policies such as establishing legal systems, increasing investment, and training human resources.
