  • In this paper we study the mapping properties of the finite field restricted averaging operators to various algebraic varieties. We derive necessary conditions for the boundedness of the generalized restricted averaging operator related to arbitrary algebraic varieties. It is shown that the necessary conditions are in fact sufficient in the specific case when the Fourier transform on varieties has enough decay estimates. Our work extends the known optimal result on regular varieties such as paraboloids and spheres to certain lower dimensional varieties.

  • Toric variety is a normal algebraic variety containing algebraic torus $T_N$ as an open dense subset with an algebraic action of $T_N$ which is an extension of the group law of $T_N$. A toric variety can be described in terms of a certain collection, which is called a fan, of cones. From this fact, the properties of a toric variety have strong connection with the combinatorial structure of the corresponding fan and the relations among the generators. That is, we can translate the diffcult algebrogeometric properties of toric varieties into very simple properties about the combinatorics of cones in affine spaces over the reals.

  • In the present paper we describe a class of Gorenstein, finite and at morphism ${\varrho}$: $X{\rightarrow}Y$ of degree 6 of algebraic varieties, called Anglo-American covers. We prove a general Bertini theorem for them and we give some evidence that the cover ${\varrho}$: $A{\rightarrow}\mathbb{P}_k^2$ associated general (1, 3)-polarized abelian surface is Anglo-American.

  • In this paper, we will prove the second main theorem for holomorphic curves intersecting the moving hypersurfaces in subgeneral position with index on an angular domain. Our results are an extension of the previous second main theorems for holomorphic curves with moving targets on an angular domain.

  • After introducing Tropical Algebraic Varieties, we give a polyhedral description of tropical hypersurfaces. Using TOPCOM and GAP, we show that there exist 59 types of two dimensional tropical quadric surfaces. We also show a criterion for a quadric hypersurface to be non-degenerate in terms of a tropical rank.

  • Comonoid, bi-algebra, and Hopf algebra structures are studied within the universal-algebraic context of entropic varieties. Attention focuses on the behavior of setlike and primitive elements. It is shown that entropic $J{\acute{o}}nsson$-Tarski varieties provide a natural universal-algebraic setting for primitive elements and group quantum couples (generalizations of the group quantum double). Here, the set of primitive elements of a Hopf algebra forms a Lie algebra, and the tensor algebra on any algebra is a bi-algebra. If the tensor algebra is a Hopf algebra, then the underlying $J{\acute{o}}nsson$-Tarski monoid of the generating algebra is cancellative. The problem of determining when the $J{\acute{o}}nsson$-Tarski monoid forms a group is open.

  • Motivated by the Bloch-Beilinson conjectures, Voisin has made a conjecture concerning zero-cycles on self-products of Calabi-Yau varieties. We reformulate Voisin's conjecture in the setting of $hyperk{\ddot{a}}hler$ varieties, and we prove this reformulated conjecture for one family of $hyperk{\ddot{a}}hler$ fourfolds.

  • Let $\mathbb{F}^d_q$ be a d-dimensional vector space over a finite field $\mathbb{F}^d_q$ with q elements. We endow the space $\mathbb{F}^d_q$ with a normalized counting measure dx. Let ${\sigma}$ be a normalized surface measure on an algebraic variety V contained in the space ($\mathbb{F}^d_q$, dx). We define the restricted averaging operator AV by $A_Vf(X)=f*{\sigma}(x)$ for $x{\in}V$, where $f:(\mathbb{F}^d_q,dx){\rightarrow}\mathbb{C}$: In this paper, we initially investigate $L^p{\rightarrow}L^r$ estimates of the restricted averaging operator AV. As a main result, we obtain the optimal results on this problem in the case when the varieties V are any nondegenerate algebraic curves in two dimensional vector spaces over finite fields. The Fourier restriction estimates for curves on $\mathbb{F}^2_q$ play a crucial role in proving our results.

  • In this paper, we characterize SL(2, $\mathbb{C}$)-representations of an n-periodic link $\tilde{L}$ in terms of SL(2, $\mathbb{C}$)-representations of its quotient link L and express the SL(2, $\mathbb{C}$)-representation variety R($\tilde{L}$) of $\tilde{L}$ as the union of n affine algebraic subsets which have the same dimension. Also, we show that the dimension of R($\tilde{L}$) is bounded by the dimensions of affine algebraic subsets of the SL(2, $\mathbb{C}$)-representation variety R(L) of its quotient link L.
