Isobutyl-Acetate와 Isobutyl-Alcohol 이성분계의 압력변환증류 공정 최적화 연구 (Optimization Study for Pressure Swing Distillation Process for the Mixture of Isobutyl-Acetate and Isobutyl-Alcohol System)

  • 본 연구에서는 Isobutyl Acetate와 Isobutyl Alcohol의 공비혼합물을 압력변환증류공정(PSD; Pressure Swing Distillation Process)을 이용하여 99.9 mol% 이상의 Isobutyl Acetate를 분리하는 공정모사를 수행하였다. 압력변환증류공정은 공비혼합물의 상대휘발도와 공비조성이 압력의 변화에 따라 차이가 나는 특성을 이용한 공정이다. 액상에서는 Non-Random Two Liquid (NRTL) model을 그리고 기상에서는 Peng-Robinson equation을 이용하였다. 최적화 방법으로 환류비와 주입단 위치를 변수로 두고 총 재비기 소요 열량을 최소화시키는 목적으로 최적화를 수행하였다. 압력변환 증류공정은 두 개의 증류탑을 필요로 함에 따라 고압 증류탑과 저압 증류탑의 배열에 따른 최적화 조건 또한 비교를 수행하였다.

일부 신나의 구성성분과 공기중 증발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Composition of Solvent Thinners and Evaporation in the Air)

  • For twelve solvent thinners, evaporation rates of components were investigated and models to estimate the actual concentration have been evaluated. Also, the current ACGIH TLVs (Threshold Limit Values) for the concentration of organic mixtures have been adjusted. The results of this study are summarized as follows : 1. Airborne concentrations of solvent thinner components were related to their respective vapor pressure (r=0.96). On the other hand, there was no significant relation between the concentrations in the air of the thinner compounds and the original amount in liquid form. 2. Airborne concentrations of each chemical were estimated by temperature at $8.5{\pm}1$, $16.7{\pm}1$ and $31.5{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ with an air velocity of 1.5 m/s. The concentrations were increased by increasing temperature (p<0.05). The percentage of concentrations were proportionate to their respective percentage of vapor pressure. Among the chemicals studied, n-butyl acetate, n-butyl alcohol, m-xylene, p-xylene and o-xylene showed a clear relationship to temperature. 3. Airborne concentration of each chemical was estimated by air velocity at 0.05, 1.50 and 2.50 m/s, with a constant temperature at $17{\pm}2^{\circ}C$. The concentrations were increased by increasing air velocity (p<0.05). The percentage of concentrations were proportionate to their respective percentage of vapor pressure. Among the chemicals studied, n-butyl alcohol, m-xylene and p-xylene showed a clear relationship to velocity. 4. In estimating the concentrations of solvent thinners by temperature and air velocity, ACGIH TLVs for mixtures tended to be larger than the values obtained by ACGIH exposure index. It shows that ACGIH TLVs for mixtures are not adequate for evaluating the airborne concentration of thinners and other organic mixtures. 5. The evaporation rate of the thinners were compared to the theoretical equations of Hummel, Braun and Mackay. The Hummel and Braun methods were close to exposure index but Makay's showed an underestimated value. In order to see the accuracy of each three models, the SSE (Error Sum of Squares) calculated for Hummel's was 1.73, being the closest to the actual values. 6. Present ACGIH TLVs for mixtures are not appropriate evaluate industrial environments. In this study, a correction of TLVs using vapor pressure of respective components was suggested. In order to evaluate the corrected TLVs a paired t-test was performed. There was no significant difference between the exposure index and the concentration over suggested TLVs (p>0.05). Thus, this corrected TLVs seem appropriate in order to evaluate actual industrial workplaces organic chemical concentration in the air.

포장재가 멸치조미가공품의 저장 중 이화학적 품질 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Packaging Materials on the Physicochemical Characteristics of Seasoned Anchovies During Storage)

  • This research is performed to investigate the changes in the physicochemical properties and microbial growths of seasoned anchovies with various packaging materials (PET/CPP : polyethylene terephthalate/cast polypropylene, PET/EVOH : polyethylene terephthalate/ethylene-vinyl alcohol, PET/AL/LDPE: polyethylene terephthalate/aluminum/low density polyethylene), which are stored at various temperatures (25, 35, $45^{\circ}C$) for 60 days. Generally, it is being observed that changes in physicochemical properties (i.e., moisture content, color, brown intensity, TBA value, TMA, VBN etc) of seasoned anchovies are significant when stored at higher temperatures. Particularly, the packaging materials are found to influence substantially on the physicochemical properties of seasoned anchovies. With packaging materials of high oxygen transmission rates and moisture vapor transmission rates (i.e., PET/CPP), the changes in physicochemical properties of seasoned anchovies are significant, while being low with low oxygen transmission rates and low moisture vapor transmission rates (i.e., PET/EVOH). In addition, results of microbial growths in seasoned anchovies show that significant increases in total aerobic bacteria counts (about 100-fold after 60 day of storage) are observed in samples with packaging materials of high oxygen transmission rates and moisture vapor transmission rates (i.e, PET/CPP), while with only small increases for samples of low oxygen transmission rates and low moisture vapor transmission rates (i.e., PET/EVOH). Based on the changes in the physicochemical properties and results of microbial growths, it is being concluded that PET/EVOH film is suitable for the packaging of seasoned anchovies.

황이 포함된 중형기공성 탄소에 화학적으로 고정화된 H5PMo10V2O40 촉매 상에서 Benzyl Alcohol 산화반응 (Benzyl Alcohol Oxidation over H5PMo10V2O40 Catalyst Chemically Immobilized on Sulfur-containing Mesoporous Carbon)

  • 황이 포함된 중형기공성 탄소 담체(S-MC)에 화학적으로 고정화된 $H_5PMo_{10}V_2O_{40}$ ($PMo_{10}V_2$) 촉매를 제조하고, 이를 Benzyl alcohol 산화반응에 적용해보았다. 먼저 주형물질로 SBA-15, 탄소 전구체로 p-Toluenesulfonic acid를 이용하여 S-MC 지지체를 제조하였다. 이후, $PMo_{10}V_2$ 촉매가 화학적으로 고정화될 수 있는 위치를 제공하기 위해 S-MC 지지체의 표면이 양전하를 띠도록 개질시켰다. 전체적으로 음전하를 띠는 $[PMo_{10}V_2O4_{40}]^{5-}$를 이용함으로써 $PMo_{10}V_2$를 양이온을 띠는 S-MC 표면에 화학적으로 고정화하였다. 화학적 고정화를 통해 $PMo_{10}V_2$가 분자수준으로 균일하게 분산되었음을 확인하였다. Benzyl alcohol의 기상 산화반응에서 $PMo_{10}V_2$/S-MC 촉매는 무담지 상태의 $PMo_{10}V_2$보다 높은 전화율 및 수율을 나타냈다. $PMo_{10}V_2$/S-MC 촉매의 반응 활성이 향상된 이유는 화학적 고정화를 통해 $PMo_{10}V_2$이 S-MC 지지체에 고르게 분산되었기 때문이다.

  • 높은 선택도와 투과도를 가진 분리막이 요구되지만 선택도가 높은 막은 투과도가 낮은 것이 일반적이다. 본 연구에서는 적절한 선택도를 유지하면서 높은 투과도를 갖는 분리막을 제조하기 위하여 다공성 알루미나막을 실란커플링제로 코팅하였다. 코팅된막에 대한 물의 접촉각은 90$^{\circ}$ 이상이었으며, 큰 소수성을 가짐을 의미하기 때문에 에탄올, 이소프로판올, 부탄을 수용액의 농축을 위한 증기투과실험을 수행하였다. 공급액중의 알코을 농도가 증가함에 따라 투과도가 증가하였으며, 이는 물에 비하여 코팅된 막에 대한 에탄올, 이소프로판올, 부탄올의 친화도가 크기 때문으로 판단된다. 코팅된 알루미나막의 투과도는 고분자막의 투과도에 비하여 20~1000배로 크게 나타났다.

반도체 제조산업중 웨이퍼 건조공정의 청정기술 적용을 위한 연구 (Development of environmentally sound technology for the wafer drying system)

  • 반도체 소재인 웨이퍼의 세정공정중 마지막 단계인 건조공정을 환경친화적인 공정으로 개발하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. IPA(Isopropyl Alcohol)를 기화시키는 증기발생실과 웨이퍼를 건조하는 공정실로 구분하여 시스템을 설계하고 이를 이용하여 건조실험을 실시하였다. 건조효율에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 인자는 질소중의 IPA 농도로 나타났으며, 동일한 건조효율을 얻기 위해서 IPA의 사용량이 기존건조기보다 적은 것으로 나타났으며, 웨이퍼 표면이 수분과 산소로부터 차단되기 때문에 생산되는 웨이퍼의 입자오염이 감소하는 결과를 나타냈다.

유기 가스 검지를 위한 다공질 실리콘층의 전기 저항 의존성 (Dependence of Electrical Resistance in Porous Silicon Layer for Detecting Organic Vapors)

  • In this work, porous silicon(PS) layer is used as a sensing material to detect organic gases. To do this, PS sensors with membrane structure are fabricated. The sensors were made by applying the technologies of membrane formation by anisotropic etching of silicon, and PS layer formation by anodization in HF solution. From fabricated sensors, current-voltage (I-V) curves were measured against ethanol (called alcohol), methanol and acetone gases evaporated from 0.1 to 0.5% solution concentrations at $36^{\circ}C$. As the result, all curves showed rectifying behavior due to a diode structure between Si and PS, and the conductance of sensor devices increased largely with the organic solution concentration at high voltage of 5V.

다공질 실리콘의 유기가스 검지 특성 (Sensing Properties of Porous Silicon Layer for Organic Vapors)

  • In this work, porous silicon (PS) layer is investigated as a sensing material to detect organic vapors such as ethanol (called alcohol), methanol, and acetone in low concentrations. To do this, PS sensors were fabricated. They have a membrane structure and comb-type electrodes were used to detect the change of electrical resistance effectively. PS layer on Si substrates was formed by anodization in HF solution of 25%. From fabricated sensors, current-voltage (Ⅰ-Ⅴ) curves were measured for gases evaporated from 0.1 to 0.5% organic solution concentrations at 36$\^{C}$. As the result, all curves showed rectifying behavior due to a diode structure between Si and the PS layer. The conductance of most sensors increased largely at high voltage of 5V, but the built-in potential on the measured Ⅰ-Ⅴ curve was lowered inversely by the adsorption effect of the organic vapors with high dipole moment.

  • In this paper, we propose the method to measure the Young's modulus of carbon nano tube which was manufactured by chemical vapor deposition. We also made the tungsten tip by electrochemical etching process and the carbon nano tube which was detangled through ultra-sonication with isopropyl alcohol was attached to the tungsten tip. This tip which was composed of tungsten tip and carbon nano tube can be used in Young's modulus measurement by applying DC voltage with counter electrode. The attachment process and measurement of the deflection of carbon nano tube was done under optical microscope.

  • Diamond film was deposited on Si wafer substrate from a gas mixture of methane, hydrogen and oxygen by microwave plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition. The effects of the pre-treatments of the substrate and of the oxygen addition on the diamond film synthesis are described. In order to obtain diamond film, the substrate was pre-treated with 3 kinds of methods. When the substrate was ultrasonically vibrated within the ethyl alcohol dispersed with 25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ diamond powder, the denset diamond film was deposited. Addition of oxygen in the gas mixture of methane and hydrogen improved the crystallinity of the deposited diamond film and also increased the deposition rate of the diamond film more than two times.
