BMS 인증기준에 따른 구조용 CFRP 개발 (Development of Structural CFRP according to BMS Certification Standard)

  • In order to export aircraft components or substructures, it is necessary to get a certification from the main company for the components or an airworthiness certification from the FAA. In Korea, those processes are performed by a small number of private companies for aircraft components. However, airworthiness certification has never been done in the company. To export an assembled aircraft, whether small or large, it is obligatory to get a certification for the aircraft being exported. Currently, the Korean government is trying to get BASA agreement in a few years. For a mid-size company, it is easier to get the NADCAP audit process for the supply of aircraft components to the main company. In this paper, the overall process of aircraft certification is discussed and airworthiness certification is treated for export aircraft. Moreover, the NADCAP audit process is described in detail by introducing example parts made of composite material. This detailed process would be very helpful to a small or mid-size company that wants to develop and deliver aircraft components to foreign companies.

  • 항공기 부품은 새로 개발되는 항공기의 설계를 구성하는 일부일 뿐만 아니라, 형식증명을 받은 항공기의 감항성을 유지하는데 중요한 역할을 한다. 미국은 1965년부터 부품제작자승인 제도를 수립 시행하여 운용 중인 항공기의 감항성 유지는 물론 전 세계의 항공기 부품 시장의 확대에 기여해 왔다. 본 논문에서는 미국의 부품제작자승인, 유럽의 유럽부품승인, 그리고 우리나라의 부품등제작자증명 제도를 상호 비교 분석함으로써 국제적 안전성 기준에 부합하고 부품산업 발전에 기여할 수 있도록 개선사항을 제시하였다.

  • 무인항공기는 조종사를 탑승하지 않고 지정된 임무를 수행할 수 있도록 제작한 비행체로서 독립된 체계 또는 우주 지상체계들과 연동시켜 운영 하는 기체이다. 이 같은 무인항공기의 경제발전의 가능성으로 인하여 정부는 무인항공기가 세계 항공기 시장에서 우리나라가 항공 선진국으로 진입할 수 있도록 적극 지원 중이다. 무인항공기는 항공산업 발전의 블루오션이지만 이에 따르는 법적 분쟁 요소도 만만치 않다. 소형으로 제작된 무인항공기는 고성능 카메라 및 센서에 기록되는 이착륙 및 운항노선 주변의 기록들을 피찰영자의 동의 없이 마음 것 촬영할 수 있는바 이에 대한 사생활 침해에 대한 우려가 있다. 또한 무인항공기가 민간상용화 된다면 무분별한 사용으로 사생활 침해 발생이 예상된다. 무인항공기로 인해 국민이 원치 않는 사생활 노출이 발생한다면 무인항공기 운영자들에게 손해배상책임이 발생할 수 있고, 이는 무인항공기산업 발전을 위해 고려되어야 하는 요소이다. 현재 무인항공기 산업을 주도하고 있는 미국에서도 무인항공기 사생활 침해 관련 정책은 개발 중이며, 효율적인 대책 마련을 준비하고 있다. 무인항공기에 관련한 법이 시행되고 있지 않기 때문에 무인항공기 사생활 침해에 따른 모든 법적 대책을 마련하는 것이 필요하다. 미국과 같이 무인항공기 사생활 보호를 도모하기 위해 무인항공기 사생활보호법(안)을 제시하였다. 현재 시행 중인 법이 많기 때문에 새로운 법안을 제시하는 것은 법적 안정성을 해할 수 있지만 국민들의 안전한 삶을 위해서 법을 제정하는 것은 피할 수 없는 일이다. 개인정보보호법이 시행 중이지만 무인항공기 관련 사생활 침해가 발생했을 때 무인항공기의 특수성에 대한 개인정보보호법을 적용하기기 녹록치 않을 것이기 때문에 미국 입법안과 개인정보보호법을 참고하여 무인항공기의 사생활 침해를 대비한 사생활보호법(안)을 제시하였다.

  • The anthropometric data are one of the most important factors to be considered for an aircraft systems design. Rescently, co-development program between the countries is considered frequently as a type of aircraft acquisition in aircraft industry. Consequently, the comparision of anthropometric data beteen the countries for the cockpit design is essential. In this paper, we simpoly compares anthropometric data of Korean air force pilots with those of Japan air force pilots. Although further collection of data are reauired, the result shows a few differences and it shows the possibility of future co-development program between the countries.

  • Chemical machining(CHM) is a special process which material removed by contact of strong etchant. The application as industrial process was started from aircraft industry after 2nd world war. Chemical milling, one of the CHM process, initially became commercial bussiness and it was called chem-mill. Even today, this process widely used to remove the material from aircraft wings and fuselage panel in aircraft industry. In this study, it is attempted to design the cylinder pattern which minimize the weight within the allowable stress using chemical milling.

A Study on Pilots' Behavior on Decision of Maneuvering Aircraft for Fuel Efficient Flight Operation

  • The response to climate change of international air transport industry might be initiated by ICAO's CORSIA (Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation) which will impact on international airlines' flight operation behavior in the future. Though the airlines' efforts to reduce fuel consumption has been a major issue in economics of aviation industry, the improvement of fuel efficiency in flight operation will have additional impact on their profitability by introducing carbon emission cost. The fuel consumption in flight operation will be somewhat influenced by pilots' technical action for maneuvering aircraft during flight operation. This study will investigate pilots' behavior on decision for tactical aircraft control for mission flight. The data will be collected by the survey through sample pilots asking about their intention and perception on fuel savings during flight operations. The data will be analyzed by AHP process and the study will find out the elements and factors influencing pilots' behavior on technical decision of flight and their weights on fuel saving effects.

부품공유를 통한 저가항공사의 효율성 향상 방안 연구 (A study on Improving Operation Efficiency of LCC through Parts Pooling)

  • Passengers and Airlines wish neither delay nor cancellation due to aircraft defects. However, about 1 delay or cancellation case occurs out of 100 departures worldwide whereas 1 quarter case does in Korean domestic industry. Independent LCC carriers in Korea have almost double case. Most cases are recovered by replacing aircraft components. Airlines have prepared the spare components based on the reliability data by manufacturers to rectify defects or perform preventive maintenances. The total value for initial spares including engine is 40% of the aircraft price when they operate less than 5 aircraft. The more airlines operate the aircraft, the less the ratio of the investment for spares reflecting the economy of scale. This study intends to suggest how to improve the efficiencies as well as the safety of LCC throughout parts pooling including engines.

경량항공기 인증제도 분석 (The Analysis the Certification Policy of Light Sport Aircraft)

  • In the present study, which is currently operating domestically and internationally, from the Technical Standards for Flight Safety of Light Sport Aircraft and certification system through a comparative analysis of the LSA Category Airworthiness Certifications documents. In particular, an aircraft type analysis of FAA certified S-LSA that the speed greater than 120 knots LSA manufactured without United States of America. Through the analysis, we presented a revised plan to activation of the domestic aviation leisure sports and the development of the Light Sport Aircraft industry in reality.

  • Purpose: A Study on the application of quality management system specification to production validation and audit in military airworthiness certification. Methods: Aircraft quality management system specification for quality assurance and production validation and audit requirements were examined to verify. Also, the system for domestic and foreign production certification were investigated. Results: Production validation and audit criteria for military aircraft by applying methods suggested Aircraft Certifications Systems Evaluation Program(ACSEP). ACSEP evaluation of the items, some items were complementary and not applied. Conclusion: As a way to ensure the safety of aircraft, confirm the correction of Production validation & audit criteria and rulemaking is necessary and how to manage for Critical Safety Item(CSI) is a need to improve.

  • For establishing new certification requirements for aircraft engines, Technical background of FAR Part33 amendments has reviewed and studied in this paper. The FAA is amending type certification standards for aircraft engines. These changes reflect current industry practices and harmonize FAA standards with those recently adopted by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). These changes establish uniform standards for all engine control systems for aircraft engines certificated by both U.S. and European countries and will simplify airworthiness approvals for import and export.
