The purpose of this study is to propose a management method to maintain the pleasant indoor air quality of the dental clinic by measuring and analyzing the indoor air quality of the dental clinic. The measurement was conducted in two rooms, a lobby where many residents stay in the reception room for waiting for medical treatment, and a VIP room where treatment activities are mainly performed. Measurement items are Temperature, Humidity, $CO_2$, CO, $NO_2$, $CH_2O$, VOC, $PM_{10}$ and measurement were taken on April 27, 2018. As a result of analyzing the temperature and humidity of the dental clinic, it was analyzed that the average indoor temperature was maintained at $25^{\circ}C$ and the humidity was kept at around 50%, maintaining proper indoor temperature and humidity environment. $CO_2$ was 855ppm in the VIP Room, which satisfied the maintenance standard. In the case of the lobby, it was analyzed to be 1,160ppm, which exceeded the maintenance standard and it is judged that the carbon dioxide generated by the respiration of the people staying in the lobby is the main reason. The mean concentration of formaldehyde in the VIP room was analyzed as $436{\mu}g/m^3$, exceeding the maintenance standard, and $2,100{\mu}g/m^3$ for the VOC exceeded the recommended standard. It was analyzed that the concentration was relatively higher due to the use of disinfectant and other drugs. The mean concentration of PM-10 in the lobby was analyzed as $65{\mu}g/m^3$ and it was analyzed that it satisfied the maintenance standard. To maintain a pleasant indoor air quality in a dental clinic it is necessary to minimize the effects of formaldehyde, VOC, $CO_2$ in the VIP rooms and lobby. For this purpose, the entire ventilation system and air purification system of the dental clinic should be installed. In case of the VIP room, local exhaust ventilation should be installed and workers should wear personal protective equipment.

Effects of temperature and light intensity on photosynthesis, respiration and chlorophyll content of ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer) were as follow. 1. Optimum light intensity for apparent photosynthesis at $25^{\circ}C$ was 25Klux($1.35mgCO_2/dm^2{\cdot}hr$) for two years old ginseng grown in pot and 30Klux($1.94mgCO_2/dm^2{\cdot}hr$) for the six years old palmate cut leaves. Optimum temperature at 25Klux was $15^{\circ}C$ ($1.40mgCO_2$) for the 2 years old and 20 to $22^{\circ}C$ ($2.03mgCO_2$) for the 6 years old. 2. Dark respiration increased almost linearly with the increase of air temperature till $25^{\circ}C$ (2.6times between $16^{\circ}C$ to $25^{\circ}C$ for the 6 years old and 1.8 times between $15^{\circ}C$ to $25^{\circ}C$ for the 2 years old). Dark respiration was 11.1 % of net photosynthesis at $16^{\circ}C$, 17.8% at $25^{\circ}C$ for the 6 years old and 40% at $15^{\circ}C$, 64.7% at $25^{\circ}C$ for 2 years old. 3. Stomata appeared only in abaxial surface (lower epidermis) and stomatal frequency was $37per\;mm^2$. 4. Above results together with other informations quoted here strongly suggest that air temperature is much better criteria than light intensity for the improvement of shading roof material and shading construction. That is to promise maximum light intensity unless air temperature is above $25^{\circ}C$.
Recently, in the market of home appliances, the technical differentiation of products using convergence technology has been receiving a lot of response to satisfy consumer demand. However, air-conditioner products are an area that requires research and development in the early stages of convergence technology. In this paper, it is developed that a non-contact bio-signal(respiration, movement) collection technology using IR-UWB(Impulse-Radio Ultra Wideband) technology, which controls the air-conditioner direction according to the user's location and also monitors sleep to provide an optimal sleep environment. In addition, emotional lighting and ASMR are developed to provide a comfortable and emotional place of life. Finally, based on the developed convergence technology, we develop intelligent smart air-conditioning services for the convenience of daily life and a comfortable resting space.
This experiment was carried out to study the effects of light intensity and soil water regimes on the growth of ginseng seedling. The results were as follows: 1. The maximum light intensity and optimum temperature in 1,le photosynthesis of ginseng seedling were 10,000 lux and 23 $^{\circ}C$. Respiration rate was increased at high temperature. 2. Air and soil temperature under the shading were increased as the increase of light intensity but soil water contents were decreased as the increase of light intensity, whereas air and soil temperature were decreased as the increase of precipitation under the shade b5: soil water contents were increased as the increase of precipitation under the shade. 3. The higher the transmittance of the shade, the greater the specific leaf weight (S.L.W.) and stomatal density. In contrast, however, the contents of total chlorophyll, chlorophyll a and b, and stomatal length was decreased. There was no any significant difference light intensity of the a/b ratio of chlorophyll. 4. The highest photosynthesis was occurred in ginseng leaves grown under the shade 5% L.T.R. and net photosynthesis rates increased with increasing soil water contents. 5. Optimum condition for usable seedling yield were 5% L.T.R. and 3.3% precipitation under the shade. Useless seedling increased with increasing precipitation under the shade.

Respiration is induced by muscular contraction of the chest and abdomen, resulting in the abdominal volume change. Thus, continuous measurement of the abdominal dimension enables to monitor breathing activity. Conductive rubber cord has been previously introduced and tested to develop wearable application for respiratory measurements. This study implemented respiratory monitoring system with the conductive rubber cord in the patient's pants in purpose of quantitative estimation of tidal volume. Air mixed with $0{\sim}5%$$CO_2$ was inhaled and the respiratory air flow rate, abdominal dimension change, and end tidal $CO_2$ concentration were simultaneously measured in steady state. $CO_2$ inhalation significantly increased the tidal volume in normal physiological state with the subject unawared. The tidal volume estimated from the abdominal dimension change linearly correlated with the tidal volume measured by a pneumotachometer with a correlation coefficient of 0.88. Customized calibration for each subject resulted in relative errors less than 10%. Therefore, the tidal volume was accurately estimated by measuring the abdominal dimension change.
Quality changes of the slices processed from 'Niitaka' Asian pears (Pyrus pyrifolia) stored at $0^{\circ}C$ for up to 4 months under controlled atmosphere (CA, 1% $O_2+1%\;CO_2$) and normal air have been investigated for 4 days at $10^{\circ}C$. Respiration rate of the slices was retarded by pre-slicing storage for 4 months in CA. Electrolyte leakage was lower in the slices from pears stored for short-term than long-term and under CA than air. L and a values of the slices from whole pears stored under CA were maintained higher and lower, respectively as compared to the other. Levels of acetaldehyde and ethanol in the slices were increased by CA and long-term storage of whole pears. Content of ascorbic acid and counts of total aerobic microbes in the slices were not affected by storage conditions of whole pears. These results show that storage atmospheres and durations of whole pears affected quality changes of the slices and the conditions of pre-slicing storage should be considered as an important factor for optimizing fresh-cut procedures.

A new method of measuring pulse arrival time (PAT), which is usually used for the estimation of systolic blood pressure, in an unconstrained manner using a chair, is proposed. The capacitive-coupled ECG (CC-ECG) measurement system and the air cushion with balancing tubes system were used for unconstrained PAT measurement. Firstly, the correlation between the standard PAT (S-PAT) from the photoplethysmography (PPG) and the PAT measured in an unconstrained manner (U-PAT) was evaluated. It was observed that U-PAT, which is the time delay from the R-peak of ECG to the steepest decent point of air cushion pressure wave, is significantly correlated with the S-PAT. Secondly, systolic blood pressure (SBP) measured by the radial tonometer is compared to the U-PAT. The ten-beat averaged U-PAT removed respiration effects and demonstrated a high intra-subject correlation with SBP in all participants. Finally, the tonometry SBP was estimated from these U-PAT values for one participant intermittently during half a day.
A transpiration model was selected and tested experimentally to predict transpiration into of Fuji apple stored in a normal air and controlled atmospheres (l∼3% O$_2$+ l∼3% CO$_2$) at 0$\^{C}$ and 98% RH for 6weeks. CA storage decreased the respiration rate of Fuji apple by 50% when compared with normal air storage. The transpiration rates of apple showed 50∼70% higher in normal air storage than those in CA storage and were decreased by increasing CO$_2$concentration under same concentration of O$_2$. The transpiration rates estimated by the selected model were in good agreement with experimental data for Fuji apples under controlled atmosphere conditions and normal air. When the respiratory heat generation rate u of Fuji apple increased with storage conditions, the evaporating surface temperature and transpiration rate also increased. But since some portion of respiratory heat was used as latent heat in the evaporating surface, the change of u value had a little effect on the determination of the evaporation temperature and the transpiration rate.
Background : The purpose of inner cannula is to protect the upper air way and permit air to pass freely, in addition, to provide endotracheal suction, artificial respiration and to maintain adequate oxygen saturation. The tube needs to be sterilized for maintenance and cleanness of air way and for prevention of bronchospasm. However, it has been reported that there is no guideline for sterilization and many hospitals conduct their own sterilization methods, for example, once a day(13's general hospital), three times a day(The Catholic University of Korea ST Mary's hospital) or even no cleansing. Consequently, the QI team of our hospital suggested the SOP(standard operating procedure) of sterilization and evaluate cost and time effect in nursing. Method : 1) Benchmarking of 13's neurosurgery department of general hospital in Seoul 2) Investigation of test records of sputum culture from patients with intubation for tracheotomy 3) Check of results of O2 Sat. monitoring to confirm of maintaining opened air way Result : 1) Improvement of process: decrease of excess sterilization of inner cannula (from 3 times a day to once a day) 2) Cost effects: saving over 10 million won per one year 3) Providing better nursing: time effects (30 min a day) permit to conduct more nursing activities Conclusion : It can get Cost and time effects in nursing with improved sterilization method of inner cannula. It needs to do research on improvement of the monthly exchange protocol of outer cannula and provide supporting data for the proper exchange schedule. The result of additional microorganism detection from patients with new process needs to be evaluated further more.
In order to evaluate the elimination of CO through the lung comparing with the decrease of CO content in the blood, authors had induced acute CO poisoning on 9 dogs. Arterial CO-Hb saturation, CO concentration, %, in expired gas and eliminated CO amount through the lung were measured at 1,5,10,30,60, and 120 minutes after acute CO poisoning in 6 dogs breathing room air and 3 dogs breathing room air and oxygen alternately. Results obtained are summarized as follows. In room air breathing group, arterial CO-Hb saturation averaged 50.8% , and 53.67 ml of CO was blew off through the lung during 120 minutes and in alternately air and oBygen breathing group, the arterial CO-Hb saturation averaged 65.6% and 95.6 ml of CO was blew off through the lung. The amount of CO eliminated in expired gas for 120 minute was much less than the amount of decreased CO in arterial blood which was calculated with the decreased CO-Hb content in the estimated circulating blood volume. Such difference between the amount of eliminated CO in expired gas and the decreased CO in blood might be attributed to the oxidation of CO to $CO_2$ in the tissues. Concentration of CO in expired gas was markedly increased and the rate of decrease in arterial CO-Hb saturation is enhanced by oxygen breathing. In early period of recovery from acute CO poisoning, neither the CO concentration in expired gas, nor, the rate of CO elimination (unlit 2 minutes after CO poisoning) showed close correlation with the blood CO-Hb saturation level. The reason seemed to be due to irregularly depressed or unevenly stimulated respiration which were induced by acute CO poisoning.
