In this paper, we propose the real time indoor air quality monitoring and controlling platform on cloud using IoT sensor data such as PM10, PM2.5, CO2, VOCs, temperature, and humidity which has direct or indirect impact to indoor air quality. The system is connected to air ventilator to manage and optimize the indoor air quality. The proposed system has three main parts; First, IoT data collection service to measure, and collect indoor air quality in real time from IoT sensor network, Second, Big data processing pipeline to process and store the collected data on cloud platform and Finally, Big data analysis and visualization service to give real time insight of indoor air quality on mobile and web application. For the implication of the proposed system, IoT sensor kits are installed on three different public day care center where the indoor pollution can cause serious impact to the health and education of growing kids. Analyzed results are visualized on mobile and web application. The impact of ventilation system to indoor air quality is tested statistically and the result shows the proper optimization of indoor air quality.

We considered that characteristics of SO$_2$, concentration level and relations of the meteorological parameters and high pollution concentration from the data measured 7 air quality continuous monitoring stations during 4 years, from 1990 to 1993 in Pusan. The SO$_2$ concentration level showed decreasing trend yearly, it was maximum in Winter, minimum in Summer. The time of SO$_2$ peak concentration lagged from seashore to land because of break-down of the nocturnal inversion layer and seabreeze. Ihe correlations of daily SO$_2$, value between various air quality continuous monitoring stations were highest between Beomcheondong and Meongryundong, lowest between Daeyeondong and Sinpyeongdong because of difference of air Pollution emission sources characteristic. The meteorological parameters affecting SO$_2$ concentration level were minimum temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and air pressure. The SO$_2$ high pollution($\geq$95ppb) occurred almost in Winter, particulaly in such day showing lower wind speed and higher air pressure. Elementary SO$_2$ high Pollution Predictor were high pressure system and stability of lower atmosphere.

The purpose of this study was to investigate air quality in Chungju, Korea, using data obtained with a local air quality monitoring system. We have utilised cohort studies to investigate the relations between environmental pollution and the health of residents near large industrial complexes since 2004. This study analyzes the $O_3,\;NO_2,\;SO_2,\;CO\;and\;PM_{10}$ concentration in Chungju from 2002 to 2006. Air pollutants are closely related to the number of manufacturing facilities and cars, energy utilization and weather conditions. Generally, the diurnal concentration of air pollutants in Chungju reached the highest level in the morning (about$08:00{\sim}$) and early evening (about$19:00{\sim}$). On the other hand, the diurnal concentration of ozone as recorded gives the highest amount in late afternoon (about$16:00{\sim}$) and lowest in early morning (about$08:00{\sim}$). The concentration of air pollutants in Chungju was highest from winter to spring and lowest during the summer season. On the other hand, the monthly variation of ozone concentration was greatest in June and smallest in December. Also the, $PM_{10}$ concentration posted the highest record in April and the lowest during September. In general, this study analyzed air pollution changes in Chungju as well as in large scale industrial complex regions within Korea such as Ulsan, Pohang, Kwangyang, Sihwa Panwol and Gangneung in Korea. We compared the air quality of Chungju with those of these cites and found that air pollutants except for CO in Chungju was generally lower than large industrial complex regions.

The rapid development in modern industrialization pollutant the water and atmospheric air across the globe that have a major impact on the human and livings health. In worldwide, every country government increasing the importance to improve the outdoor air pollution monitoring and control to provide quality of life and prevent the citizens and livings life from hazard disease. We proposed the environmental dust level detection method for outdoor facilities using sensor fusion technology to measure precise micro-dust level and monitor in realtime. In this proposed approach use the camera sensor and commercial dust level sensor data to predict the micro-dust level with data fusion method. The camera sensor based dust level detection uses the optical flow based machine learning method to detect the dust level and then fused with commercial dust level sensor data to predict the precise micro-dust level of the outdoor facilities and send the dust level informations to the outdoor air pollution monitoring system. The proposed method implemented on raspberry pi based open-source hardware with Internet-of-Things (IoT) framework and evaluated the performance of the system in realtime. The experimental results confirm that the proposed micro-dust level detection is precise and reliable in sensing the air dust and pollution, which helps to indicate the change in the air pollution more precisely than the commercial sensor based method in some extent.
Recently, high ozone episode occurred frequently in Korea. Moreover ozone episode occurred not only in the city but also in background area where local anthropogenic sources are not important. It analyzed frequency exceeding 100ppb ozone at air quality monitoring stations in Seoul and rural area during 1995-2004. This paper reports on the use of the Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ) modelling system to predict hourly ozone levels. Domain resolutions of 30km, 10km, 3.333km (innermost) have been employed for this study. Summer periods in June 2004 have been simulated and the predicted results have been compared to data for metropolitan and rural air quality monitoring stations. The model performance has been evaluated with measured data through a range of statistical measures. Although, the CMAQ model reproduces the ozone temporal spatial trends it was not able to simulate the peak magnitudes consistently.

As a large city advanced, the urban environment is becoming an issue. The contribution of vehicle emissions in air pollutants was very high according to the clean air policy support system (CAPSS). In order to improve the air quality in large cities, it is necessary to establish improvement measures by sources, analyzing the air quality of roadside. We divided Bucheon city into 4 regions to investigate the roadside pollutants of each district using the mobile laboratory (ML) and air quality monitoring station (AQMS). ML was used to measure pollutants emitted from vehicles and AQMS data was used as a comparison group of ML data. As a measurement result of pollutants in the roadside, the concentration of air pollutants in industrial & engineering complex area was the highest and concentration of air pollutants in residential & forest complex area was lower. By street, Bucheon-ro, Sinheung-ro, Sosa-ro, and Gyeongin-ro were identified as high concentrations. Therefore, further researches on preparing management measures for roads in the hot-spot area are needed.

Recently, The World Health Organization announced that harms human health because of air pollution that are emerging as threats to human health worldwide. according to the, Seoul, 2011 According to a July 2014 - Public Facilities indoor air quality measurements, were examined to be in violation of indoor air pollution standards in most multi-use facility. Indoor air pollution resulting from this is present in the paper, and cause disease, such as pulmonary disease, asthma, bronchitis and to In this connection, the measurement of indoor air quality by using the environment sensor, analyzing the measured data to generate an actuator signal required for ventilation and improve indoor air quality by implementing a monitoring system with real-time measurement, autonomously managing the air quality in our lives so that it can be.
We introduce VRSMS(VR-based sensor management system) which is the visualization system of micro-scale air quality monitoring system Airscope[3]. By adopting VR-based visualization method, casual users can get insight of air quality data intuitively. Users can also manipulate sensors in VR space to get specific data they needed. For adaptive visualization, we separated visualization and interaction methods from air quality data. By separation, we can get consistent way for data access so new visualization and interaction methods are easily attached. As one of the adaptive visualization method, we constructed large display system which consists of several small displays. This system can provide accessibility for air quality data to people one public space.

In an advanced modern society, among air pollutants caused by urban industrialization and public transportation, fine dust flows into indoors from the outdoors. The fine dust meter used indoors provides limited information and measures the pollution level differently, so there is a problem that users cannot monitor and monitor the data they want. To solve this problem, in this paper, indoor air quality data fine dust and ultra-fine dust (PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10), VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor) are used to measure fine dust. and a monitoring system were designed and implemented. We propose a fine dust meter and monitoring system that is installed in a designated area to measure fine dust in real time, collects, stores, and visualizes data through App Engine of Google Cloud Platform and provides it to users.

The need for an environmental monitoring system that obtains and provides environmental information in real time is increasing. In particular, in the case of water quality management in public waters, regular management must be conducted through manual and automatic measurement by law, and air pollution also requires regular measurement and management to reduce fine dust and exhaust gas in connection with the realization of carbon neutrality. In this study, we implemented a system that can measure and monitor water pollution and air pollution information in real time. A hovercraft capable of moving on land and water simultaneously was used as a measurement tool. Water quality measurement and air pollution measurement sensors were installed on the hovercraft body, and a communication module was installed to transmit the information to the monitoring system in real time. The structure of a hovercraft for environmental measurement was designed, and a LoRa module capable of low-power, long-distance communication was applied as a real-time information transmission communication module. The operational performance of the proposed system was confirmed through actual hardware implementation.
