This study aims to deveop a methodology for measuring the level of service quality in the air transportation. To measure the level of service quality, the approach taken here deals with not only the facility factors but also qualitative factors such as comfort and convenience as the influencing elements for service quality. The contents of this study can be summarized as follows: (1) For the systematic developement and management of air service, service factors of the air transportation are classified by AHP(analytic hierarchy process). (2) In computing the weight of service factors, a pairwise comparison method in AHP is used. (3) This study will suggest a method of measuring the competitive level of air service, and a result of an empirical study appling the method developed.

The unequivocal risk of climate change, the weakness of energy security, and the problem of air quality will be possibly accelerated by the same reason, the enhanced fossil fuel dependancy in the future. It is obvious that greenhouse gases and air pollutants are mainly emitted from same sources. Moreover, greenhouse gases and air pollutants have their adversed impacts on same socio-economical, and environmental sectors. With these regards, several but limited studies have emphasized on the importance of the integrated management of climate change and air quality problem. In this study, we address the current trend of energy consumption and the change of air quality condition. Also the related policies are checked out in order to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and air pollutants in Korea. By surveying previous studies, it is shown that the cost of climate change actions can be reduced by air quality co-benefits and vis-a-versa. Also the integrated strategy for climate change and air quality is introduced in term of cost-effectiveness and co-benefit.

Recently, people's rising interests toward a 'well-being' lifestyle together with research contributions are accelerating the concerns regarding indoor air pollution making indoor air quality management an emerging environmental challenge of the era. The Ministry of Environment began to regulate the air quality of railway stations last year. The newly established 'Indoor Air Quality Act' covers 17 facilities whereas only underground subway stations and underground markets were regulated by previous 'Underground Air Quality Management Act' of 1996. In this study, we carried out the measurement of temperature, relative humidity, CO(carbon monooxide), $CO_2$(carbon dioxide), HCHO(formaldehyde), PM-10(particulate matters), and VOCs(volatile organic compounds) in underground subway stations. Based on the obtained results, we will suggest a way to improve the indoor air quality of the subway stations.
There have been academic debates upon which measure is more desirable in measuring service qualify between SERVQUAL and SERVPERF. In addition, Korean air lines industry is rapidly growing due to the increase of Koren family income and globalization. This study tried to contribute to both academic and practical issues. This study compared SERVQUAL and SERVPERF measures to determine which is superior to measure service quality in Korean air lines industry. Data was collected from two airliners' customers of Korea. According to the results of confirmatory factor analyses, regression analyses and analyses of goodness of fit, SERVPERF appears to be better in measuring service quality in Korean air lines industry than SERVQUAL. We suggest that SERVPERF be used to measure service quality in Korean air lines industry.

Meteorological factors and air pollutants are associated with respiratory diseases, and appropriate use of weather and air quality information is helpful in the management of patients with such diseases. This study was performed to investigate both the utilization of weather and air quality information by, and the needs of, patients with respiratory diseases. Questionnaires were administered to 112 patients with respiratory diseases, 60.7% of whom were female. The rates of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease among patients were 67.0% and 10.7%, respectively. The majority of subjects (90%) responded that prevention was important for respiratory disease management and indicated that they used weather and air quality information either every day or occasionally. However, respondents underestimated the importance of weather and air quality information for disease management and were unaware of some types of weather information. The subjects agreed that respiratory diseases were sensitive to weather and air quality. The most important weather-related factors were diurnal temperature range, minimum temperature, relative humidity, and wind, while those for air quality were particulate matter and Asian dust. Information was gleaned mainly from television programs in patients aged 60 years and older and from smartphone applications for those below 60 years of age. The subjects desired additional information on the management and prevention of respiratory diseases. This study identified problems regarding the utility of weather and air quality information currently available for patients with respiratory diseases, who indicated that they desired disease-related information, including information in the form of action plans, rather than simple health- and air quality-related information. This study highlights the necessity for notification services that can be used to easily obtain information, specifically regarding disease management.

In recent years, national and local government's air quality management and climate change adaptation policy has been significantly strengthened. The measures in the two policies may be in a relationship of trade-off or synergy to each other. Greenhouse gases and air pollutants are mostly emitted from the same sources of using considerable amounts of fossil fuels. Co-benefits, in which either measure has a positive effect on the other, may be maximized by reducing the social costs and by consolidating the objectives of the various policies. In this study, the co-benefits were examined by empirically analyzing the effects of air pollutants and greenhouse gas emission reduction, social cost, and cost effectiveness between the two policies. Of the total 80 projects, the next 12 projects generated co-benefits. They are 1) extend restriction area of solid fuel use, 2) expand subsidy of low-$NO_x$ burner, 3) supply hybrid-vehicles, 4) supply electric-vehicles, 5) supply hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, 6) engine retrofit, 7) scrappage of old car, 8) low emission zone, 9) transportation demand management, 10) supply land-based electric of ship, 11) switching anthracite to clean fuel in private sector, 12) expand regional combined-energy supply. The benefits of air pollutants and greenhouse gas-related measures were an annual average of KRW 2,705.4 billion. The social benefits of the transportation demand management were the highest at an annual average of KRW 890.7 billion, and followed by scrappage of old cars and expand regional combined-energy supply. When the social benefits and the annual investment budgets are compared, the cost effectiveness ratio is estimated to be about 3.8. Overall, the reduction of air pollutants caused by the air quality management policy of Gyeonggi-do resulted in an annual average of KRW 4,790.2 billion. In the point sources management sector, the added value of $CO_2$ reduction increased by 4.8% to KRW 1,062.8 billion, while the mobile sources management sector increased by 3.6% to KRW 3,414.1 billion. If social benefits from $CO_2$ reduction are added, the annual average will increase by 7.2% to KRW 5,135.4 billion. The urban and energy management sectors have shown that social benefits increase more than twice as much as the benefits of $CO_2$ reduction. This result implies that more intensive promotion of these measures are needed. This study has significance in that it presents the results of the empirical analysis of the co-benefits generated between the similar policies in the air quality management and the climate change policy which are currently being promoted in Gyeonggi-do. This study suggested that the method of analyzing the policy effect among the main policies in the climate atmospheric policy is established and the effectiveness and priority of the major policies can be evaluated through the policy correlation analysis based on the co-benefits. It is expected that it could be a basis for evaluation the efficiency of the climate change adaptation and air quality management policies implemented by the national and local governments in the future.

Efforts to reduce damages from micro dust and harmful gases in life have been led by national or local governments, and information on air quality has been provided along with real-time weather forecast through TV and internet. It is not enough to provide information on the individual indoor space consumed. So in this paper, we propose a IoT-based Real-Time Air Quality Sensing Board Corresponding Fine Particle for Air Quality Management in Buildings. Proposed board is easy to install and can be placed in the right place. In the proposed board, the air quality (level of pollution level) in the indoor space (inside the building) is easy and it is possible to recognize the changed indoor air pollution situation and provide countermeasures. According to the advantages of proposed system, it is possible to provide useful information by linking information about the overall indoor space where at least one representative point is located. In this paper, we compare the performance of the proposed board with the existing air quality measurement equipment.
The purpose of this study is to develop and applicate textbook relevant to school indoor air quality. To achieve the purpose, concrete study process are as follows. First, the survey research to teachers, supervisors, and students is conducted to grasp cognition of subjects in elementary school and management situation about school indoor air quality. Second, contents relevant to indoor air quality on textbooks in the 7th elementary curriculum and subsidiary textbooks is analysed through reference study. Third, environmental textbook relevant to school indoor air quality for 5th and 6th grade in elementary school is developed, applicated, and inspected its effect on the basis of implications from results of survey and reference study. The results of this study are as follows. First, the result of survey concerning school indoor air quality showed that three groups had negative attitude for its management even though they thought that it affected human's health and study by and large. Student group thought that each of students itself was a little influence to school indoor air pollution though all of three groups answered that' activities of students' was its main source. Efforts of students to improve school indoor air quality was not much, and its main reason was that they didn't know about school indoor air pollution well. Second, result of analysis into textbooks on the 7th elementary curriculum and subsidiary textbooks, contents concerning indoor air on the 7th elementary curriculum textbooks was little or nothing. And it trended to be included to subsidiary textbooks. However, education textbooks about indoor air for elementary students was insufficient still. Third, environmental textbook relevant to school indoor air quality for 5th and 6th grade in elementary school was developed. It was constructed for themes - importance, sources, effects, and management of school indoor air quality. After its application to the 6th grade students in elementary school, it was meaningful in the level of p<.05 that the result of knowledge and awareness in the pre-post test within experiment group. However, all of the results in comparison group didn't represent statistically meaningful difference. In conclusion, environmental textbook developed by necessity of education about school indoor air quality will play a role as useful tool for the 5th, 6th grade students in elementary school to understand relation of quality of health and life and school indoor air quality, to have attitude to make an effort to manage it by develop right awareness about it.
Background: When basic local governments want to improve their air quality management policies, they need fundamental evidence, such as the effectiveness of current policies or scenario results. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to lay the groundwork for a process to calculate air pollutant reduction from basic local government air quality policies and provide numerical estimates of PM2.5 concentrations following improved policies. Methods: We calculated the amount of air pollutant reduction that can be expected in the research region based on the Gyeonggi-do Air Environment Management Implementation Plan issued in 2021 and guidelines from the Korean Ministry of Environment. The PM2.5 concentration variations were numerically simulated using the CMAQ (photochemical air quality model). Results: The research regions selected were Suwon, Ansan, Yongin, Pyeongtaek, and Hwaseong in consideration of population, air pollutant emissions, and geographical requirements. The expected reduction ratios in 2024 compared to 2018 are CO (3.0%), NOx (7.9%), VOCs (0.7%), SOx (0.1%), PM10 (2.4%), PM2.5 (6.1%), NH3 (0.05%). The reduced PM2.5 concentration ratio was highest in July and lowest in April. The expected concentration reduction of yearly mean PM2.5 in the research region is 0.12 ㎍/m3 (0.6%). Conclusions: Gyeonggi-do is now able to quickly provide air pollutant emission reduction calculations by respective policy scenario and PM2.5 simulation results, including for secondary aerosol particles. In order to provide more generalized results to basic local governments, it is necessary to conduct additional research by expanding the analysis tools and periods.

In this paper, we proposed a plan for a indoor air quality management in elderly care hospital by measuring the indoor air quality level of elderly care hospital and conducting a survey the workers' awareness of indoor air quality. The measurement items were Temperature, Humidity, CO2, CO, PM10, VOC and were taken on April 26, 2019. The survey found that the lower the satisfaction level with indoor air quality, the better outdoor air quality and odor items were analyzed to be the lowest among the indoor environmental factors. When the satisfaction level of indoor air quality is high, the satisfaction level of indoor environment factor is high. The result of the multiple response analysis was "lack of ventilation" and the regression analysis was the lower the "relevance of indoor air quality" category. To provide the best indoor air quality environment for elderly care hospital workers the installation of additional ventilation equipment to remove odors, the increase in the number of natural ventilation and the designation of regular ventilation personnel will be necessary. By establishing such a plan, it is possible to provide indoor air quality environment to provide the best services for elderly care hospital workers.
