Weed Occurrences, Growth and Yield of Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) by Hairy Vetch and Partial-Width Tillage (헤어리베치와 부분경운에 의한 잡초발생과 수수의 생육 및 수량)

  • The effects of cover crops on weed suppression were evaluated in this study. Weed suppressing effects of hairy vetch cover crops were evaluated in summer grain fields. Cover crops were sown at the sowing rate of $60kg\;ha^{-1}$ on Oct. 2012 and Feb. 2013 without basal fertilization. Three weeks old sorghum seedlings were transplanted after minimum tillage on June 2013. Hairy vetch cover crop treatment significantly reduced weed biomass in the transplanted sorghum. By smothering, the cover crops reduced weed biomass to economic level in sorghum. Besides the weed suppression, hairy vetch cover crop resulted in green manure effect on crop growth. Hairy vetch treatment showed beneficial effects on sorghum growth. Reduction of weeds caused by use of strip-tillage machine and polyethylene film mulching was 71% and 88%, respectively. At harvest, yield of sorghum was greater in order of polyethylene film mulching > hairy vetch cover crop > control in transplanted fields.

  • 국내에서 대부분 생산되는 사료(사일리지) 수확 작업은 베일 생산 및 비닐 래핑 작업이 독립적으로 수행되고 있어서 비효율적이다. 본 연구에서 개발한 조사료 수확기는 수집, 롤링, 베일 네트 생성, 래핑, 래핑 종료 및 베일 방출작업을 통합적으로 수행하도록 설계-제작하였다. 통합형 다목적 조사료수확기의 설계는 3D 디자인 툴 (CATIA V5R18)을 이용하여 실시하였으며, 기구부 23 파트 어셈블리, 전기제어 어셈블리, 유압요소기술을 통합하여 통합시작기를 제작하였다. 기초 프레임, 오거장치파트, 픽업장치파트, 하부롤러파트, 상부롤러파트, 하부 프레임 및 주행부 파트, 래핑회전파트, 롤러부 구동 동력부, 유압파트, 전기제어파트, 드로우바파트, 체결 및 컨트롤러 파트 등 25개 파트로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구에서 개발한 시작기의 견인력 및 소요동력 분석은 선행 연구에서 사용한 Brixius (1987) 제안 모델을 체택하여 분석하였다. 이 Brixius 제안 모델은 견인력 예측에서 토양변수 및 토양강도 특성을 나타내는 원추지수 (Cone Index, CI)를 이용하여 트랙터의 견인력 예측에 사용하였다. 또한 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템의 소요 견인력을 예측하는데 있어, 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템이 운용되는 토양조건과 트랙터의 마력에 따른 소요 견인력 특성을 분석하기 위해 대표적으로 3수준의 토양조건 (CI: 356 kPa, 543 kPa, 1,429 kPa)을 적용하였으며, 베일의 개당 최대무게는 최고 수준인 옥수수 기준으로 800 kgf를 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 적용된 3수준의 CI 조건은 연구팀에서 선행연구과정 (토양특성에 따른 최적 경운작업 시스템 개발, 2006)에서 분석한 전국 10개 지역의 33개 지점의 경반층 CI지수의 측정범위인 1,050-3,170 kPa에 대해 견인력이 많이 소요되는 열악한 조건 수준을 적용하였다. 각 작업에 사용된 소요동력은 베일 작업시 (ASABE D497.7, 2011) 그리고 래핑작업시 (Zhortuylov et al., 2013)를 사용하였으며 두 소요마력을 트랙터-조사료 수확기 시스템의 필요 소요마력의 합계로 계산하였다. 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템의 최소 소요 동력, 차축 소요 동력과 PTO 소요 동력을 Zoz and Grisso (2003)을 이용하여 계산하였다. 연구에서는 기본적으로 ASAE의 작업속도 및 작업효율을 적용하였는데, 적용된 조사료수확기의 현장 작업효율은 60-86%의 범위이고 일반적으로 70%를 적용하고 이때 작업속도는 2.5-8.0 km/h이며 전형적으로 5.0 km/h를 기준하고 있다. 자주식 (SP; sief-propelled machine) 조사료수확기의 경우 작업속도가 2.5-10.0 km/h의 범위에서 작업효율은 60-85% 범위이다. 적용되는 조사료 수확기의 작업효율인 60-85% 범위에서 일반적으로 적용되는 작업효율인 70%를 적용하면 트랙터의 소요동력은 95hp를 적정 작업환경으로 하였다.

The Effects of Soil Physical Improvement on Rice Yields at Fine Textured Fluvio-Marine Paddy Field (하해혼성(河海混成) 식양질(埴壤質) 답(沓)에서 토양물리성(土壤物理性) 개선(改善)이 수도수량(水稻收量)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • This experiment was designed to establish the soil physical improvement practice to increase the rice yields at fine textured fluvio-marine paddy field. After chiseling and trenching the paddy soil, the rice growth and soil physical properties were investigated for 4 years. The results are summarize as follows; 1. The soil physical properties, such as bulk density, hardness, porosity and permeability were prominently improved by trenching and chiseling. 2. There were significant relationships among the soil physical properties, root developments and rice yields. 3. The increasing rates of rice yields by soil physical improvement were about 10%, which is better than 5% of drainage effects. 4. The effects of trenching and chiseling on rice yields were continued to fourth year. Even if trenching effects was better than chiseling the chiseling was considered as a useful treatment for its simple working practice by using a heavy machine. 5. In case of trenching, straw application were increased the rice yields.

Soil Management Measures for Continuous Melon Cultivation in Plastic Film House (참외 연작장해(連作障害) 대책(對策)을 위(爲)한 효과적(效果的)인 토양관리(土壤管理))

  • This experiment was aimed to find out the measures or soil managements in continuous melon cultivation and to produce the high quality of yellow melon in plastic film house culture. The experiment was designed with surveying of farmer's field and conducted for 4 years. The most effective measure of soil managements was to cultivate paddy rice in June after harvesting the melon and next ways were treated with submergence or the plastic film for 40days during the period of high temperature of summer and plowed over 50cm depth with plough machine. To decrease the soil problems in continous cultivation, the addition of red earth soil of 500M/T per 10a with increasing the application rates of rice straw and fertilizer (N, P, K) in 30% and 10% respectively was effective in plastic film house culture. The effect of soil amendment application was continued for two years at least and it increased the commercial quality and sugar content in brix of yellow melon in 10% and 2.6 degree respectively.

Effects of Idophore and Limewater On the Cleaning and Sanitizing of Dairy Farm Equipment (Idophore 및 석회수(石灰水) 처리(處理)가 낙농기구(酪農機具)의 세척(洗滌)및 살균(殺菌) 효과(效果)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • The purpose of this investigation was to study whether limewater can be used as dairy detergent-sanitizer for dairy farm euipment compared with idophore in the milking machine. 1. Milkstone deposition was increased slightly by idophore and limewater pre-rinse but seriously increased by milking without pre-rinse for 6 days milking. 2. Milkstone deposition was increased by increasing temperature of pre-rinse sanitizer solutions. 3. Limewater rinse was more effective than idophore rinse and tap water rinse in removing butterfat. 4. Idophore and limewater rinse was more effective than tap water rinse in removing milk solid. 5. Both of idophore and limewater were found to be significantly effective for milk bactericidal. 6. It was conclused that good hygienic raw milk can be producesed from dairy farm by idophore and limewater per-rinse.

Changes in Textural Properties of Jeung-Pyon (Korean Traditional Fermented- and Steamed-Rice Bread) during Storage (증편의 저장 중 조직 특성 변화)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the storage conditions and methods required for commercialization of Jeung-Pyon. The storage characteristics of Jeung-Pyon were examined with Universal Testing Machine (UTM, Instron model 1000) for textural properties during storage of under the conditions such as sealing, nonsealing, and temperatures. The differences in storage characteristics on the different varieties and years of rices were not shown. When the Jeung-Pyon was lost it's quality as a commercial product, the measured value of UTM was increased as hardness 0.74Kg to 1.0Kg, gumminess 0.23Kg to 0.59Kg, chewiness 6Kg.mm to 18Kg.mm, but decreased in adhesiveness 0.65Kg.mm to 0.40Kg.mm, cohesiveness 0.61 to 0.34, springiness 41mm to 32mm. The nonsealed Jeung-Pyon was lost it's quality for storing at room temperature because of the case-hardening after 2 days. In the case of sealed Jeung-Pyon, the case-hardening phenomena by the evaporation of moisture was not occured, therefore it was a significant factor for an extension in sealed Jeung-Pyon. The shelf-life of sealed Jeung-Pyon was 20 days and 5 days respectively during storage at $-20^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$. The sealed Jeung-Pyon stored at $5^{\circ}C$ was lost it's quality, in consideration of cold chain this temperature was suitable for retrogradation of starch. The Jeung-Pyon sealed with air and mosture proof packaging material stored at the accelerated condition as 92% R.H. and $35^{\circ}C$ lost it's quality within two or three days.

IDENTIFICATINO OF DYNAMIC PARAMETER OF THE RUBBER CRAVLES SYSTEM FOR FARM MACHINERY

  • The rubber crawler system for farm machine is composed of driving units such as track rollers, driving sprockets and rubber crawlers. Vibration characteristics of the rubber crawler system varies by driving speed, center of gravity, mass□moment of inertial□location arrangement of track rollers and dynamic parameters such as dynamic spring constant (k) and viscous damping coefficient (c) of a rubber crawler. In general, vibration of the rubber crawler system occurs by reason for mechanical interaction between the rubber crawler and track rollers. Because the dynamic spring constant and viscous damping coefficient vary periodically by mechanical characteristics(deformation characteristics) of the rubber crawler when track rollers drive on the between lugs of the rubber crawler. Therefore, both dynamic parameters k and c were expressed as Fourier series by authors through the shaking test of the rubber crawler and further, vibration characteristics of the rubber crawler system could be simulated analytically. However, actual values of dynamic parameters k and c are different from those obtained by the shaking test because dynamic characteristics of the rubber crawler vary by the effect of variable tension and driving resistance of track rollers. So, actual values of k and c should be identified in the condition of actual driving test. In this study, dynamic parameters such as k and c of the rubber crawler system, which are expressed as Fourier series, were identified using the Gauss-Newton Method. Therefore, validity of identified parameters k and c was discussed through the simulation using experimental data of actual driving test. As a result, in the Fourier series of dynamic parameters of spring constant k and viscous damping coefficient c, excellent parameter convergence and simulation were observed using the Fourier series' zero order and first term of the dynamic model. Furthermore, it was clarified that identification for model parameters which are fitted to actual dynamic motion (vibration) wave of the crawler system was possible by using the time series data observed in vertical and pitching motion of the crawler system.

  • This experiment was carried out to study the drying characteristics of model foods containing moisture, protein and starch on different concentration of additives such as sodium chloride and sucrose. Textural properties of model foods were measured by using UTM(instron). The results obtained are summaried as follows: As starch content and solute concentration of model foods increase, drying time was extended. The multiple regression equations for drying characteristics of additive concentration ($X_1$, %), drying time ($X_3$, hr), drying temperature ($X_2$, OC), starch content($X_4$, %) are : $$E(MC)=58.282-5.197X_3-15.151X_4-0.145X_2+2.672X_1\;R^2=0.798\;(NaCl)$$ $$E(MC)=56.651-7.253X_3-0.183X_2-42.844X_1+3.025X_4\;R^2=0.858\;(Sucrose)$$ As starch content, drying temperature and solute concentation increased, he hard ness of model foods increased.

Improvement of A Rice Seed Pelleting Machine for Direct Seeding in Rice Cultivation (직파용 벼 펠렛종자 제조장치 성능 개선 연구)

  • 본 연구는 기존 벼 펠렛종자 제조장치의 제조성능 및 제조 벼 펠렛종자 품질향상을 위하여 펠렛재료 공급부, 성형부, 펠렛종자 배출부를 개선 설계 제작하여 그 성능과 제조 벼 펠렛종자 특성을 구명함으로써 직파용 벼 펠렛종자 대량생산을 위한 제조장치 개발의 기초 자료를 얻고자 수행하였으며 그 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 펠렛재료의 일정한 공급과 펠렛재료가 성형 홈으로부터의 이탈하는 것을 줄이고, 펠렛종자의 완전한 배출이 가능하도록 한 벼 펠렛종자 제조장치를 설계·제작하였으며, 벼 펠렛종자 제조장치를 상토 종자혼합비, 성형롤의 회전속도에 따라 실험한 결과 벼 펠렛종자 제조 능력은 성능 개선 전의 펠렛종자 제조장치에 비하언 약 1.7배 향상된 제조능력을 보였으며, 성형률은 최대 약 89 %로 나타나 개선 전의 71%에 비해 18 %정도 성형률이 향상되었다. 그러나, 벼 종자손실률은 약 24% ∼ 49%로 거의 비슷한 수준인 것으로 나타났다. 제조된 벼 펠렛종자의 특성을 분석한 결과 펠렛종자의 구형률은 99.1%로 거의 구형으로 제조됨을 알 수 있었으며, 무게는 제조 직후에는 약 1.70 g, 완전 건조 후에는 1.31 g으로 나타났고, 직경은 약 12.03 mm에서 건조 후 11.53 mm로 축소되었다. 개선 전에 비해 직경과 무게가 약간씩 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 재선된 제조장치에서 펠렛재료가 성형롤의 성형 홈에 압축 공급되고, 펠렛재료의 손실도 적었기 때문으로 판단된다. 제조된 한 개의 벼 펠렛종자 내에 포함된 완전 벼 종자의 개수는 상토 종자혼합비가 커질수록 성형롤의 회전속도가 낮을수록 많아지는 것으로 분석되었으며, 모두 펠렛종자 당 평균 약 3 개 이상의 완전 벼 종자를 포함하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 개선 전에 비하여 펠렛종자 내에 포함된 평균 완전 종자수도 증가하였으며, 3개 이상 완전 종자를 포함한 펠렛종자의 비율도 증가하여 유압에 의한 펠렛재료 공급과 성형롤의 개선효과가 있었던 것으로 보인다. 음지 건조 후 벼 펠렛종자의 압축강도는 약 132 N ∼ 152 N으로 조사되었으며, 개선전에 비하면, 약 30 %가 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 출아율 실험 결과 상토 종자혼합비 6 : 1, 성형롤 회전속도 7 rpm에서 건답직파는 100%, 답수직파는 97 %의 출아율을 보여 만족할 만한 결과를 얻었으나, 그 외의 경우는 거의 90 % 이하의 출아율을 보여 출아율을 높이기 위한 방안이 필요한 것으로 보인다. 본 연구의 벼 펠렛종자 제조장치의 적정운전 조건은 제조된 벼 펠렛종자의 특성과 출아율을 고려해 볼 때 상토 종자혼합비 6 : 1, 성형롤 회전속도 약 7 rpm으로 판단되며, 이 때 제조능력은 시간당 약 65 Kg(펠렛종자 약 39,000 개), 성형률 약 87 %, 종자손실률은 약 30 %, 펠렛종자 내 평균 종자수는 약 5.5 개, 완전 벼 종자 3개 이상 포함 펠렛종자 비율은 약 100 %가 될 것으로 보인다.

Analysis of the PTO Torque of a Transplanter by Planting Condition

  • Purpose: This study measured and analyzed the PTO (power take off) torque of a transplanter according to the planting conditions during field operation. Methods: A torque measurement system was constructed with torque sensors to measure the torque of a PTO shaft, a measurement device to acquire sensor signals, and a power controller to provide power for a laptop computer. The field operation was conducted at four planting distances (26, 35, 43, and 80 cm) and two planting depths using the transplanter on a field with similar soil conditions. One-way ANOVA with planting distance and Duncan's multiple range test at a significance level of 0.05 were used to analyze the PTO torque. The torque ratio was calculated based on the minimum torque using the average PTO torque measured under each planting condition. Results: The average torques on the PTO shaft for planting distances of 26, 35, 43, and 80 cm at a low planting depth were 11.05, 9.07, 7.04, and 3.75 Nm, respectively; the same for planting distances of 26, 35, 43, and 80 cm at a middle planting depth were 12.20, 9.86, 7.94, and 4.32 Nm, respectively. When the planting distance decreased by 43, 35, and 26 cm, the torque ratio at a low planting depth increased by 88, 142, and 195%, respectively. When the planting distance decreased by 43, 35, and 26 cm, the torque ratio at the middle planting depth increased by 84, 128, and 182%, respectively. Conclusions: PTO torque fluctuated by planting distance and depth. Moreover, the PTO torque increased for short planting distances. Therefore, farmers should determine the planting conditions of the transplanter by considering the load and durability of the machine. The results of this study provide useful information pertaining to the optimum PTO design of the transplanter considering the field load.
