  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of social support on the relationship between the use of digital devices and successful aging among the elderly. For this study, the data were collected from 363 elderly over the age of 65 years who were registered in the Senior Welfare Center located in D city and K city and data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and PROCESS Macro v3.5 Program. The results of the study showed that the use of digital devices of the elderly was positively related to social support and successful aging. Moreover, the use of digital devices and social support were statistically significant variables in explaining the variance of successful aging among the elderly. In addition, social support had a significantly mediating effect on the relationship between the use of digital devices and successful aging among the elderly. Finally, based on the findings, the implication for the improving successful aging among the elderly considering promoting the use of digital devices and social support and the recommendations for the further research were provided.

  • With scaled technology, timing analysis of circuits becomes more and more difficult. In this paper, we review recently developed circuit simulation techniques created to deal with the cost issues of transistor-level simulations. Various techniques for fast SPICE simulations and Monte Carlo simulations are introduced. Moreover, process and aging variation issues are mentioned, along with promising methodologies.

  • Aging characteristics and mechanical properties of commercial 7xxx series Al composites were investigated from viewpoint of ceramic contents. After sintering process, sintered densities of blended and composite powder were 95 and 97%, respectively. Each part was solution-treated at $475^{\circ}C$ for 60 min and aged $175^{\circ}C$. And two-step aging was also performed form $120^{\circ}C$ to $175^{\circ}C$. The aging behavior of the sintered composite pow-der was different from that of sintered blended powder. The peak aging time of the composite was rapid as well due to strain. Before aging, mechanical properties of sintered composite powder was significantly higher than that of sintered blended powder. These increments of properties were directly affected by ceramic particles. However, after aging, incremental rate of mechanical properties was slowed in the composite.

  • This paper investigates both the changing spatial patterns of aging population during 1985 to 2010 and their interrelationship with the residential features of elderly households in 2010. The aging level of a region is classified into three different ones such as aging region (7~14%), aged region (14~20%) and super-aged region (over 20%). Residential features of elderly households are examined by such variables as housing type, housing ownership, and house age. Aging process has started from peripheral regions distanced away from Seoul. There are strong tendency that aging households reside in single unit house owned by oneself over 20 years-old aged houses, which shows more strong patterns toward peripheral regions in SMR.

  • 1 mol% $Li_2O$ excess $0.9(Na_{0.52}K_{0.48})NbO_3-0.1LiTaO_3$ lead-free piezoelectric multilayer ceramic actuators were investigated to determine their aging properties. To reduce the thermal aging behavior, we applied a rectified unipolar electric field of 5 kV/mm to the specimen to accelerate the electric aging behavior. By employing a rectified unipolar electric field for the piezoelectric actuators, we could remove undesirable heating from the relaxation current in the motion of the ferroelectric domain. To accelerate the aging test, the applied electric fields had a frequency of 900 Hz. To have enough time for charging and discharging, we employed an accurate time constant to design the equivalent circuit model for the aging tester. To extract exact aging behavior, we measured the pseudo-piezoelectric coefficient before and after the aging process. We also measured the electro-mechanical coupling coefficient, the frequency-dependent dielectric permittivity, and the impedance to compare with fresh and aged specimen.

  • Aging is a complex process associated with dysregulation of the immune system and low levels of inflammation, often associated with the onset of many pathologies. The lacrimal gland (LG) plays a vital role in the maintenance of ocular physiology and changes related to aging directly affect eye diseases. The dysregulation of the immune system in aging leads to quantitative and qualitative changes in antibodies and cytokines. While there is a gradual decline of the immune system, there is an increase in autoimmunity, with a reciprocal pathway between low levels of inflammation and aging mechanisms. Elderly C57BL/6J mice spontaneously show LGs infiltration that is characterized by Th1 but not Th17 cells. The aging of the LG is related to functional alterations, reduced innervation and decreased secretory activities. Lymphocytic infiltration, destruction, and atrophy of glandular parenchyma, ductal dilatation, and secretion of inflammatory mediators modify the volume and composition of tears. Oxidative stress, the capacity to metabolize and eliminate toxic substances decreased in aging, is also associated with the reduction of LG functionality and the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. Although further studies are required for a better understanding of autoimmunity and aging of the LG, we described anatomic and immunology aspects that have been described so far.

  • The aim of this study is to enhance the level of life satisfaction of the elderly as the aging population grows in readiness for increased old age, beginning with interest in improving the quality of life of the elderly. For this purpose, the subtype of preparation for aging was set as multi-independent variables by organizing it into physical preparation for aging, economic preparation for aging, and emotional & social preparation for aging. Structural relationships between variables was identified by social support a parameter variable and life satisfaction a dependent variable. It was also verified that the social support between subtypes of preparation for aging and life satisfaction had a mediating effect. The subjects of this study are 4,058 elderly people who are over the age of 65. They were originally extracted from the 3rd and 5th additional survey of Korean Retirement and Income Study. For data analysis purposes, SPSS 25.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro v2.16 were used. The results of this study are as followed. The emotional & social preparation for aging not only had a significant direct effect on successful aging, but also resulted in indirect effect on successful aging through life satisfaction. On the basis of the results, this study provided the social welfare policy and practical suggestions to enhance the preparation for aging and social support, which are the key to improving life satisfaction of the elderly.

  • In this paper, we propose a new diagnosis method of DC/UC converter aging. The method is based on parasitic resister change with aging process. we apply to on-line diagnosis of DC/DC converter because of observing not a device but a system. We present the mathematical analysis and experimental study.

  • Expressions of adhesion molecules (AMs) are closely related to the formation of early atherosclerosis. an age-dependent process. However. previous research only provided limited and conflicted reports about alternated AMs expressions during aging and even much less is known about modulation of AMs by calorie restriction (CR), the only established anti-aging experimental paradigm. • This study aims at applying Photoshop functions to digital make-up(DM) for aging effect based upon the knowledge of phrenology, comparing the result with that of the real or off-line make-up(OM) and identifying any possible difference between two methods: which contributes to understanding the potential and problems of DM at application level. This study aims at suggesting a method to apply computer graphics(CGs) to special effect make-up for aging effect through a case, contributing to attracting academic concerns and building theoretical frameworks for DM. It used 'Aging Process' in Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended(CS4E) to change a young girl into a senior lady. In the process of DM, the study applies various tools and methods to making face wrinkled, finds the most effective way among them for each area of face, suggests a method to integrate the ways and shows the result of the method. Compared with OM, DM using CS4E is the less constrained work regarding procedure and time. Specifically, it can save the time tremendously because the reiterative operation of work can be omitted, when the same work is repeated, using 'Action' function which memorizes the history of the work. Once a DM work is produced, since it is durable, reusable and convertible to various images with additional operations, it seems very economical as well as highly promising to market the work through on-line sales. Regarding face features and skin, it reviewed literature in make-up and phrenology while it used Photoshop CS4 Extended tools to demonstrate a case of aging effect by combining and painting pictures of a young lady and a senior citizen.
