This study was performed to analyze the wearing practice and the purchasing characteristics of jeans in order to offer basic data to produce superior jeans made of denim with small flexibility and to improve the wearing comfort. The questionnaire were 236 Korean women from the age of 10th to 50th. For data analysis, descriptive analysis and crosstabs were used. The results were as follows, in the purchasing characteristics, when the women of 10th to 30th decided to purchase jeans they considered fashion, design and price rather than wearing comfort. But the women of 40th to 50th considered that wearing comfort is the most important factor. The 10th is found the best preferred jean is wide straight style, the 20th is straight style, the 30th is boots cut style and the 40th to 50th is straight style. In wearing practice, there was a difference among age groups on the region that felt uncomfortable when wearing jeans. As the age increases, the abdomen size also increases. Most people answered that they mend jeans after purchase for length, without any relation with age. The reason why consumers prefer jeans with middle length between the crotch and waist and also purchase jeans with a short length is because they look refined and neat. This informs us that the short length between the crotch and waist does not match with ease and comfort, which are the images of jeans in the past. Recently premium jean brands are competing to show Low Rise Jeans, which seems like a Premium Jean=Low Rise Jean formula is created. Some manufacture companies are recklessly copying foreign designs that does not fit Korean's body shape. However, as mentioned in this study results, there is a clear difference between designs that they think consider as aesthetic and functional. Therefore, it is considered necessary for developing designs for jeans that can satisfy both aesthetic appreciation and functions for Korean consumer's body shape and each age group.
In this study, researcher intended to extract the major factors of makeup design from Yangju-beolsandaenori-tal(masks) and Songpa-sandaenori-tal which have been handed down to the present among many kinds of the Korean folk masks, and to apply those factors to the modernization of traditional culture in terms of makeup design. The 17 Sandaenori-tals exhibited at 'The special exhibition of the Korean folk masks' in 1981 by the national folk museum of Korea were selected as the objects of this research. The formational analysis in terms of shape, color and material was conducted. The 5 factors of this analysis are as follows; face and hair, forehead, eye and eyebrows, mouth and nose. The beauty expressed in Sandaenori-tal includes naturalness, eccentricity and good-humor. The human feelings are expressed candidly and simply through naturalness. The eccentricity in Sandaenori-tal overemphasizes the shape of mask unsymmetrically. And it is expressed ghostliy in black, white and red colors. The good-humors in aesthetic viewpoint was expressed in surprised faces and innocent smile. Researcher applies the good humour to the art makeup in strong natural colors and shapes.
Recently researchers have studied mobile physiological sensing device. However, previous works focused on multiple and real time physiological sensing method, instead of aesthetic shape of sensing devices, sensing comfort during monitoring and sensing reliability against the hand motion artifact. In this work, we propose a stone shaped physiological sensing device to monitor the physiological status in a daily life which maximize the aesthetic feeling and sensing comfort and sensing reliability. We proposed stepwise user centered design process for user centric physiological sensing device and evaluated appropriate sensing positions against the hand motion artifacts and pressure from sensors. From the usability test and experiments, we verified the proposed sensing device provides the aesthetic appeals, sensing comfort and sensing reliability. We expect that this work can be applied in the various health care applications in near future.

This study originated from following questions. What can we understand the conception of deconstruction, which has been the core idea of new discourses developed in various ways since modernism? How can this question be interpreted in landscape design? What is the conceptional frame of integration the prominent hybrid post-genre movements and phenomena? The frame can be epitomized with the deconstruction phenomenon. 'Deconstruction' is the core conception appeared in late or post-modern ages in the embodiment of modernity and can be viewed as an integrating or a hybrid phenomenon between areas or genres in formative arts. Therefore, the author regards the hybrid movements widely witnessed in the post contemporary formative arts as one of the most important indicators of de-constructive signs. It is safe to say that the phenomenon of this integration or hybridism, of course, does not threaten the identity of landscape design but serves as an opportunity to extend the areas of landscape design. One of the consequences of this integration or hybridism is the voluntary participation of users who have been alienated in the production of the meanings of design works and hybrid landscape design with the hybridization of genres that is characterized with transformation in forms. This view is based on the distinction between hybridization of interactions between the designer (the subject) and the user (the object), and hybridization of synesthesia. Generally speaking, this is an act of destroying boundaries of the daily life and arts. At the same time, it corresponds to vanishing of modern aesthetics and emerging of post-contemporary aesthetics which is a new aesthetic category like sublimeness. This types of landscape design tries to restore humans' sensibility and perceptions restrained by rationality and recognition in previous approach and to express non-materialistic characteristics with precaution against excessive materialism in the modern era. In light of these backgrounds, the study aims to suggest the hybrid concept and to explorer a new landscape design approach with this concept, in order to change the design structure from 'completed' or 'closed' toward 'opened' and to understand the characteristics of interactions between users and designs. This new approach is expected to create an open-space integrating complexity and dynamics of users. At the same time, it emphasizes senses of user' body with synesthesia and non-determination. The focus is placed on user participation and sublimity rather than on aesthetic beauty, which kind of experience is called simulacre. By attaching importance to user participation, the work got free from the material characteristics, and acceptance from the old practice of simple perception and contemplation. The boundaries between the subject and object and the beautiful and ordinary, from the perspective of this approach, are vanished. Now everything ordinary can become an artistic work. Western dichotomy and discrimination is not effective any more. And there is 'de-construction' where there is perfect equality between ordinary daily life and beautiful arts. Thus today's landscape design pays attention to the user and uses newly perceived sensitivity by pursing obscure and unfamiliar things rather than aesthetic beauty. Space is accordingly defined to take place accidentally as happening and event, not as volume of shape. It's the true way to express spatiality of landscape design. That's an attempt to reject conventional concepts about forms and space, which served as the basis for landscape design, and to search for new things.
The main purpose of this research is to understand how the problems, which existing letter-shape houses have, are solved in Unjoru which is one of the letter-shape houses. Furthermore, there is the secondary purpose which is to realize the architectural characteristics of Unjoru through the process from the composition of rooms and buildings to the method of structure and roof formation. This research was approached in terms of architectural design, and as the result, the problems of the existing letter-shape houses was resolved by literally converting the shape of outdoor space to 品-shape form. Moreover through the result, it was recognized that the 占-Shape plan was flexible in responding to the demand of the times, such as the order of precedency within men and women and each generation. In addition to the previous results, it was confirmed that the location of major rooms was also decided by considering the interrelationship with natural environment of surrounding area. Also, in the whole proportion of building's plan, each building, such as ㄷ-shape Anchae and big-sized and middle-sized Sarangchae having 丁-shape form, and major rooms in the each building have proportion system such as 1:1, 3:4, $1:\sqrt{2}$, and 3:5 as aesthetic numerical value. Finally, it was understood that the architectural intention had double-sided characters, one side was authority and dignity in the aspect of shape and another side was practicality in aspect of inner housing life.

The purpose of this study is to provide a basic data of clothing development which can improve the satisfaction of the body shape by examining the subjective evaluation and type characteristics of the old-old women themselves. Q methodology was used for the study of subjectivity. The types of the body shape of the old-old women were analyzed as five types: bent body with protruding abdomen, backward bent body with slender legs, inverted triangle, swollen cylinder, triangle. The bent body with protruding abdomen had a bent back and waist. They were recognized that the bust and shoulders were sagging and abdomen was protruding. The backward bent body with slender legs was the smallest of the five types with a BMI index and shoulders and bust were sagging. And knee and waist were bent and legs were thin. The inverted triangular shape showed the highest BMI index among the 5 types, indicating that it is obese. They thought that the upper body was developed and the lower body and legs were slender. The swollen cylinder shape was analyzed to be the smallest and the most fat body. The triangle shape had developed lower body and bent back and waist. It is considered that a design consideration is needed to cover the disadvantages of the body shape in consideration of not only wearing feeling but also aesthetic part when making clothes. By making ergonomic garments considering the characteristics of body shape, it can be expected to change the body shape due to the wearing of clothing that is not suitable for body shape and the effect on physical health in a positive direction.

The roof grid of single-layer space frame structure, for Energy Core of Incheon Airport Second Terminal, is very simple and aesthetic, but it is apt to buckle under external force because of mild curvature and complex shape. The object of this study is to estimate the stability of single-layer space frame structures for Energy Core of Incheon Airport Second Terminal with the analytical conditions of structural design. The results show that the buckling load of model(pin-pin, uniform load, rigid joint), that is, the most similar model to the analytical conditions of structural design. was $10.7kN/m^2$.
The present study is focused on investigating the subjective viewpoint of users favoring Galaxy phones as an element for emotional experience designs, and Q methodology used for the study of subjectivity has revealed 3 types. The first type is a type pursuing reasoned actions with high expectations for the emotional quality through direct and indirect experiences of Galaxy phones. They were shown to place an emphasis on portability and usability while having a low preference for the shape of external forms and materials. The second type is a type pursuing planned actions with an emphasis on individual subjective perceptions as well as both of physical sensation and usability. They were distinguished as a type preferring pleasure and efficiency experienced by its use. The third type is a type pursuing differentiated personalities with an emphasis on messages they want to deliver to other people through the products owned by an individual. They were identified as a type emphasizing display of personalities through differentiation in aesthetic elements.
The development of technology in modern industrial world which grows and changes every day is shortening the cycle of life span of products, so there is a flood of products around us. It is enough to say that this phenomenon leads to further emphasis on the aspect of design for human being. It is not a new fact that to design for the rational function and the modeling from to make a combination and to satisfy consumers' desire is a short cut to gain competitive superiority in developing new products for MIS security. Therefore the design which plays a leading role in the activity of creating more convenient, more aesthetic, and more econemical products is called 'NEW CORPORATE WEAPON'. The amount of effort made for developing products is different in each company, but recently the plan to develope new products and its process arouse more interest. This thesis purports to improve objective understanding about the development of design by investigating products development research and the process of analysis and designing as a case study on developing a domestic supersonic humidifier. This thesis consists of five chapters in all. In chapter one as a preface, the purpose the method and the scope of the study is described. Chapter two contains my effort to grasp the background of study on the design and the basic structure of supersonic humidifier. Chapter three is an examination into the present conditions of supersonic humidifier used in domestic and foreign area, and the shape of design. In chapter four, a guide for the development of design is established. The idea sketch based on a fundamental shape and the drawing are added to this. In chapter five on the basis of the result of analysis in the preceding research I describe the development of design of products on the premise that marketing gives proof for them but the products oriented by manufacturer are not included in this case. In this thesis, I try to recognize the process of the develpment of design and the importance of the plan for design in developing products by examining an investigative and analytic study on the design of products.
