This study was conducted to testing the criterion - related validity of a mental health assessment tool which developed based on a korean culture. Criteria scale for this tool were MMPI and CMI(M - R). The study subject were 100 male and female aged 20 or more with quota sampling. The data was collected from August 16. to August 26. 1989. The data obtained from 85 subjects were analysed using S.P.S.S.(Stastistical Package for the Social Science). As a result, there are no significant correlation between Mental Health Assessment Tool and MMPI and CMI except Mf(Masculinity-Feminity) Subscale of MMPI. This result means the MMPI and CMI was not related to tool which developed based on medical model from etic perspectives, although the tool which had been developed in America Modified to Korean situation. So I dare to say that only the absence of mental illness does not means mental health and the diagnosis of mental illness is not the only criteria of a mental health.

Background: Although cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) is reported to have positive effects on mental functions such as depression and sleep improvement, detailed studies regarding awakening, attention and concentration among brain waves reflecting brain activity are lacking. Objective: To examine the effects of cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) on various electroencephalograms (EEGs) reflecting brain activities. Design: Randomized controlled clinical trial (single blind) Methods: This study selected 30 healthy adult women in their 20s who volunteered for this experiment. A total of 30 subjects were randomly assigned to three groups (Sham group, 0.5 Hz CES group, and 100 Hz CES group). EEGs were measured before and after the single CES, and the results were compared and analyzed. Results: The relative theta, alpha, and gamma waves indicated no significant differences in the interaction effects between time and group. The relative fast alpha wave only showed significant differences in the interaction effects between time and group in P4. The relative slow beta wave only indicated statistically significant differences in the interaction effects between time and group in T3 and T4. The relative mid and fast beta waves showed statistically significant differences in the interaction effects between time and group in all areas. Conclusions: These results suggest that a CES of 0.5 Hz awakens consciousness and has a positive influence on brain activity, while a CES of 100 Hz has a positive influence on thinking activity accompanying mental load during concentrating on one subject.
The survey was carried out with a random sample of adults living in Busan and Gyeongnam. The collected material is used by the SPSS version 12.0. The frequency, percentage, examination were applied for studying. We separated the group of safety, general management, real hair management according to characteristic about scarp and hair problems. There is highly understanding about the hair problem that if someone has really sensitive scalp or who has dandruff or who has thin hair or who has someone has hair losing problem in their family. Usually, the group has highly understanding of hair problem, they consult about their hair and scalp with expert. They have a really good attention about the mass media(TV, Internet, Newspaper, Magazine) for scalp and hair health. They reduce using hair products. They always read hair product brochure first and use it. They don't eat fast food frequently. The survey has shown high levels of article. Now the research showed us that s have a strict connection between self-recognition and scalp treatments. That means someone has understanding hair problem then start treatment first.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate self-reported symptoms of periodontal diseases. We performed a comprehensive analysis of periodontal health related factors. Methods: 581 volunteers representing a broad range of age from 20 to 65 were recruited from Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces. They participated in a self-administered survey of which the results were analyzed through the decision tree analysis using the data mining program. Results: 67% of the participants reported 'bad breath,' whereas 13.9% of participants reported 'toothache'. The decision analysis revealed that age was the most determining factor of adult periodontal health. Participants in 20s with a profound understanding of their periodontal health status exhibited a low vulnerability to periodontal diseases, whereas those lacking the awareness were more susceptible to the diseases. However, other participants in 30s and older showed a higher vulnerability to periodontal illness than those in 20s, whether or not they had suffered from chronic diseases. Conclusions: In order to effectively prevent periodontal diseases, an age-appropriate clinical approach will be necessary. For the younger age group it will be crucial to enhance the self-awareness of their current oral health status. On the other hand, those in 30s and older will need to pay a close attention to the prevention of chronic periodontal disease.
This study was performed to assess the efficacy of surgical treatment with flexible alligator forceps (FAF) on heartworm infected dogs. Twenty dogs (10 males and 10 females) with heartworm infection, age $5.3\pm3.0\;(mean{\pm}S.D.)$ years and weight $9.3\pm6.5(mean{\pm}S.D.)kg$ were treated with FAF. Adult heartworms were removed by fluoroguided technique with FAF under inhalation anesthesia with isoflurane. For evaluation of the efficacy, removal rate and surgical time were measured, and removal sites were found. Antigen ELISA kit test and autopsy were performed to examine remained adult heartworms. Removal rate of total heartworms was $91.4\%$ including 15 complete retrieval cases and surgical time was $30.0\pm7.6(mean{\pm}S.E.)$ minutes. Heartworms were removed from the right ventricle, main pulmonary artery, and right and left pulmonary artery. Surgical treatment with FAF is an effective method with high removal rate, short surgical time, and various removal sites and it could be considered for the removal of adult heartworms in a dog.
To determine the impact of long-term social distancing and isolation from COVID-19 on the area of adult occupational performance, targeting adults in their 20s to 60s distributed nationwide for 2 months from November 2020 to December 2020. A questionnaire based on the occupational therapy execution system was constructed and investigated. A total of 270 people responded to the questionnaire, and the survey method was an online questionnaire. As a result of the analysis, there were significant differences in both occupational performance and satisfaction before and after COVID-19 in 33 (75%) of 45 items in 9 areas of the occupational performance area. There were significant changes in performance and satisfaction by age group in all age groups in health management, social participation, leisure, and work. In particular, those in their twenties showed the greatest change in performance and satisfaction in the leisure domain, while those in their 30s and 60s showed the greatest change in both the performance and satisfaction in the leisure domain. Along with these changes, the survey subjects recognized that their occupational performance and satisfaction were lower than before COVID-19 was a problem and confirmed that they are willing to improve. As COVID-19 is still a pandemic, it is necessary to involve experts in each area and follow-up studies to improve the differences by occupational performance area and age, which have changed due to long-term social distancing and isolation.
Purpose: To propose a standard value for the maxillary sinus volume of a normal Korean adult by measuring the width and height of the sinus and analyzing their correlation and the difference of the sinus size respectively between sexes, and on the right and left sides. Materials and Methods: Fifty-two (95 maxillary sinuses) out of 20 years or over aged patients who had taken CT in the Department of Dental Radiology, Yonsei University, Dental Hospital, between February 1997 and July 1999 who were no specific symptom, prominent bony septa, pathosis, clinical asymmetry and history of surgery in the maxillary sinus were retrospectively analyzed. Results: The mean transverse width, antero-posterior width, height and volume of the normal Korean adult's maxillary sinuses were 28.33 mm, 39.69 mm, 46.60 mm and 21.90 cm³, respectively. There was a significant sex difference in the sinus volume (p>0.05). In the mean antero-posterior width, height and volume of the sinus, no significant difference was observed between both sides. All four measurements showed a significant correlation between both sides (p>0.0001). The widths and height of the sinus all showed a significant correlation with the sinus volume (p>0.0001). Conclusion : In the Korean normal adult's maxillary sinus, males tended to be larger than females. Except for the transverse width, all of the measurements showed no significant difference between the right and left side, but significant correlations in the four measurements between both sides were observed. Thus, the overgrowth or undergrowth in the unilateral maxillary sinus may suggest a certain pathosis or developmental abnormalities in the maxillary sinus.
This study was done to identify experience of young adults street homeless aged 20-30s by knowing meaning and structure of empirical phenomena for procedure that how young adults became street homeless according to bio-psycho-social change. Five young adults street homeless were recruited who were on the air of SBS program, 'That why we want to know: young hope on the road-Young adults homeless are increased(Saturday July 26, 2008)', and from monthly magazine published by Homeless Center in Seoul. And phenomenological and heuristic Human Becoming Research Methodology of Parse was applied in this study. Although young adults street homeless made an opportunity for job, the working poor made him street homeless who suffer from social stigma and exclusion, but he struggled for self-support with social care. The quality of life for young adult street homeless depends on the social care under human rights with the bio-psycho-social aspects.

Introduction: Mobile phones are in extensive use worldwide and concerns regarding their role in tumor formation were raised. Over the years multiple studies were published in order to investigate this issue using several approaches. The current study looks at secular trends of brain gliomas (low and high grade) incidence and changes in tumor's laterality over 30 years in a population extensively using this technology with a possible correlation to the spread of use of mobile phones. Materials and Methods: All brain gliomas that were diagnosed from 1980-2009 were included and subdivided into two groups - low and high grade. Secular and periodic time trend analyses of incidence rates and changes in laterality were performed. Preferred side of head using mobile phones was assessed with a questionnaire in a sample of adult individuals. Results: A decrease in incidence of low grade giomas (LGG) that correlated with introduction of mobile technology was found from 2.57, 2.34 and 2.79 for every 100,000 in the period 1980 to the end of 1994 to 1.72, 1.82 and 1.57, respectively, over the last three 5-years periods (1995-2009). High-grade glioma incidences increased significantly from 1980-2009 but in the period after mobile phones were introduced (1994-2009) a lower, non significant, rate of increase was observed in males and a lower one (significant) in females. A shift towards left sided tumor location for all adult gliomas combined and separately for LGG and HGG was noted from 1995 onward. The shift was more marked for those who were diagnosed in ages 20-49 (p=0.03). Conclusions: We found a statistically significant decrease in LGG's over 30-years period that correlates with introducing of mobile phones technology and a shift in laterality towards left-sided tumors, the latter occurred in both low and high-grade gliomas.
Bones are important parts in sustaining the shape of the body, but they are also metabolic organs which undergo bone remodeling by constant bone resorption and formation. Osteoporosis, the typical metabolic bone disease, is characterized by a reduction in bone mineral density (BMD). Women more than men are at risk fir osteoporosis-related fractures, especially in the lumbar spine, wrist, and hip region. Risk of fracture depends on one's BMD, which open determined by the peak bone mass value achieved at skeletal maturity and followed by subsequent age-and menopause-related bone loss. Genetic and environmental factors are known to play a key role in bone metabolism and diet is considered as one of the important environmental factors. The purpose of the present study was to assess the status of BMD and bone mineral content(BMC) to clarify the relationships between dietary intakes and the risk of osteoporosis in adult women in Taegu. Subjects were 130 healthy females in between 20 and 69 years of age. BMD and BMC of the lumbar spine(venebrae L2-4) of the subjects were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. The average age of the subjects was 47.4${\pm}$11.7 years old, the average weight was 57.2${\pm}$8.4kg, the average age of menarche was 16.6${\pm}$1.9 years old and the average age of menopause was 48.4${\pm}$5.3 years old. The nutrient intakes of the subjects measured by the convenient method were generally lower than the level of RDA. The result of nutrient intake assessed has shown that the average energy intake was 1701${\pm}$316kca1 which is 85.1% of the RDA and the average calcium intake was 485.4${\pm}$172.3mg which is 69.3% of the RDA. The intakes of protein, vitamin A, vitamin B$_1$, niacin were greater than the RDA, whereas the remaining nutrient intakes were lower than the RDA. The average BMD of the subjects was shown to be 1.06${\pm}$1.09g/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The highest BMD of 1.24${\pm}$0.14g/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was noticed in the subjects of 30s compared to 20s, 40s, 50s, 60s. The BMD values were compared by the relative body weight(R3W) of the menopause subjects, and it was found that the underweight group had significant lower BMB while the rest of the groups did not have any differences in BMD. The most strongly correlated nutrient with BMD among the menopause subjects appeared to be calcium. The women whose Ca intakes were higher than 500mg showed the significantly higher BMD than those with Ca intakes lower than 500mg. This study suggests that the most effective way to prevent osteoporosis and to reduce the incidences of fractures seems to be minimizing bone loss through the adequate intake of calcium as well as avoiding underweight, especially in menopausal women.
