High Efficiency and Precise Speed Controlled SRM of DSP based (DSP 기반 고효율 정밀 속도제어 SRM)

  • The switched reluctance drive is known to provide good adjustable speed characteristics with high efficiency. However, higher torque ripple and lack of the precise speed control are drawbacks. In the paper, a PLL(Phase Locked Loop) technique is adopted to regulate the dwell angle instantaneously. A PLL control technique in conjunction with dynamic dwell angle control scheme has good speed regulation characteristics. The F240 DSP based control system is used to realize this drive system. Test results show that the system has the ability to achieve good dynamic and precise speed control.

  • The switched reluctance drive system is known to provide a good adjustable speed and torque characteristics. However, acoustic noise and higher torque ripple are drawbacks. These drawbacks show the fact that SRM drive is not operated with mmf current specified for dwell angle and input voltage. Reducing torque ripple and having precise speed control, PLL technique is adopted. The PLL system in conjunction with dynamic dwell angle control scheme has good speed regulation characteristics. A TMS320F240 based on the DSP is used to realizing this drive system. Test results show that the system has the ability to achieve good dynamic and precise speed control.

A Study on the SCR Frequency Converter With a Rotating Distributor (회전접촉자를 사용한 SCR 주파수 변환기에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes a converter, which combines SCR bridge type rectifier circuit with a rotating distributor. This type of converter produces an adjustable low frequency output of three phase or single phase, from three phase or single phase power source. Output-waveforms of this converter are multi-pulse in three phase output, and square wave in single phase output. Problems about the operation of static switches, a commutation and output-waveforms are investigated, and experimental results verify that frequency can be adjusted satisfactorily from zero to 20 (Hz) and the expected output-waveforms are obtained without sparking on the distributor under various loading conditions. This converter can be utilized to low speed control of A.C. motors, and other lowfrequency loads.

  • This paper has investigated the speed sensorless indirect vectorcontrol of a two-phase induction motor to implement adjustable-speed drive for low-power applications. The sliding mode observer estimates rotor speed. The convergence of the nonlinear time-varying observer along with the asymptotic stability of the controller has been analyzed. To define the control action which maintains the motion on the sliding manifold, an "equivalent control" concept is used. It has been simulated and implemented on a sensorless indirect vector drive for 150W two-phase induction motor. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate effectiveness of the estimation method.

  • This paper proposes the interference cancellation improvement in smart antenna system by using Applebaum array covariance matrix adjustment. This technique adds the specific adjustable multipliers with both desired signal covariance matrix and interference signal covariance matrices in order to overcome some disadvantages and improve the interference cancellation efficiency of Applebaum array. It is based on the desired and undesired signal power or desired signal-to-interference-plus-thermal noise ratio (SINR). As the result from demonstration, the proposed technique can improve and increase the interference cancellation efficiency in smart antenna better than the conventional technique.

  • Settling Basins are one of the most important and popular methods for removal of suspended sediments irrigation and drainage networks or power canals taking off from an alluvial river and wastewater treatment plant. Improving the performance and so increasing sediment removal efficiency of settling basins by an alternative method is necessary. In the present work, the effect of baffle and its angle of attack with the flow (${\theta}$) on the sediment removal efficiency is investigated by conducting a series of experiments on a straight canal with 8 m length, 0.3 m width and 0.5 m height and 3 m length of basin equipped with an adjustable glass baffle. A numerical analysis has been carried out using ANSYS Fluent 3D software (a general purpose computational fluid dynamics simulation tool) for three Froude numbers from the experiments. The numerical and experimental results were found to match reasonably well.

  • In this paper, the sliding mode variable structure-fuzzy(SMVS-F) control algorithm is applied to speed controller for field oriented induction motor drive system. According to the principle of sliding mode variable structure-fuzzy adjustable speed control scheme, the proposed algorithm shows good performances which are reducing chattering, robustness against parameter variation in induction motor drive. The validity of the proposed control scheme is verified by computer simulation using SIMULINK.

  • The switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive system provides a good adjustable speed and torque characteristics. However, because of the torque production mechanism, it also has some disadvantage such as higher torque ripple and fluctuation in speed. To reduce torque ripple and to control speed precisely, digital signal processor(DSP) is adopted. The DSP TMS320F241 was used to be realized this drive system. Test results show that the suggested control system has the ability of dynamic and precise speed control.

  • The first purpose of this paper is to develop the sensorless drive at adjustable speed without any mechanical position or speed sensor. For this, this research analyzes terminal voltage, finds the rotor position information and makes the source of commutations of phase current. The second purpose is to propose the sensing method of initial rotor position without instantaneous rotating. Experimental results show the validity and practical use of the proposed sensing method.

  • Switched reluctance motor(SRM) has simple magnetic structure, and needs simple power electronic driving circuit. It is very useful for wide range adjustable speed drive system. But, SRM drive generates large vibration and acoustic noise because it is commutated individually by step pulse m.m.f of each phase. In the vibration and acoustic noise characteristics. the considerable vibration and noise is induced by radial deforming of stator, so the frequency of dominant vibration and noise is coincident with the frequency of natural frequency of mechanical structure. This radial vibration force is generated by abrupt change of radial magnetic force in the phase commutation region. This paper studied about simple electromagnetic structure of SRM using auxiliary compensating winding for the reduction of noise and vibration. This auxiliary winding is coupled with all phase windings electromagnetically and absorb and transfer magnetic energy variation from phase to other phase. By this interaction of phase windings and compensating winding can reduce abrupt radial force change and vibration and acoustic noise. In this paper the improvement effect is examined by the test of prototype machine.
