  • In electric motor coaches, the rolling stocks move by the adhesive effort between rail and driving wheel. Generally, the adhesive effort is defined by the function of both the weight of electric motor coach and the adhesive effort between rails and driving wheel. The characteristics of adhesive effort is strongly affected by the conditions between rails and driving wheel. When the adhesive effort decreases suddenly, the electric motor coach has slip phenomena. This paper proposes a re-adhesion control algorithm which uses the maximum adhesive effort by instantaneous estimation of adhesion force using load torque disturbance observer. Based on this estimated adhesive effort, the re-adhesion control is performed to obtain the maximum transfer of the tractive effort.

Self-Alignment and Bonding of Microparts Using Adhesive Droplets

  • This paper describes the self-alignment and bonding of microparts using adhesive surface tension to assemble microsystems in air. The alignment and bonding were tested experimentally using adhesive droplets, and the resulting performance was evaluated. The adhesive, which was inorganic and water-soluble before hardening, was diluted with water to a ratio of 10:1 so that its surface tension generated a sufficient restoring force for self-alignment. The experimental results showed that the average of the alignment errors obtained using the adhesive on $1.0\times1.0\times0.15-mm$ microparts was less than $2{\mu}m$ in the X and Y directions and 0.2 degrees in the e direction. These alignment errors were almost the same as those obtained using water. The use of a suitable adhesive had no negative effects on the alignment accuracy. The average tensile strength of the adhesive bond after self-alignment was $0.61N/mm^2$.

접착 테이프 박리거동에 미치는 외부효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on External Effects on Peeling-off Behavior of Adhesive Tape)

  • 접착용 테이프 박리거동에 미치는 외부효과를 알아보고, 이를 설명하는 준강체 실린더 체인(semi-rigid body cylinder chain) 모델을 제안하였다. 먼저 평면으로부터 테이프를 떼어낼 때, 테이프의 거동을 정성적으로 파악하고, 이를 토대로 준강체 실린더 체인 모형을 도식화하였다. 그 다음 테이프를 떼어내는 힘에 미치는 여러 요소들(온도, 표면거칠기, 떼어내는 속도, 각도 의존성, 테이프 폭 등)의 효과와 이들의 민감도를 분석하여 동일한 실험 기준조건을 설정하고, 이 조건에서 평면으로부터 테이프를 떼어내는 힘(벡터)의 각도 의존성을 $10^{\circ}$ 간격으로 측정하였다. 실험결과는 본 연구에서 확립한 모형이론과 실험오차범위 내에서 잘 일치하였고, 다른 요소들의 효과는 현상론적 입장에서 정성적으로 잘 설명되었다. 이러한 이유로, 본 결과는 PSA 테이프의 접착력을 시험 평가하는 모델로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Effect of adhesive luting on the fracture resistance of zirconia compared to that of composite resin and lithium disilicate glass ceramic

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of adhesive luting on the fracture resistance of zirconia compared to that of a composite resin and a lithium disilicate glass ceramic. Materials and Methods: The specimens (dimension: $2mm{\times}2mm{\times}25mm$) of the composite resin, lithium disilicate glass ceramic, and yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (Y-TZP) were prepared. These were then divided into nine groups: three non-luting groups, three non-adhesive luting groups, and three adhesive luting groups, for each restorative material. In the non-luting groups, specimens were placed on the bovine tooth without any luting agents. In the non-adhesive luting groups, only zinc phosphate cement was used for luting the specimen to the bovine tooth. In the adhesive luting groups, specimens were pretreated, and the adhesive luting procedure was performed using a self-adhesive resin cement. For all the groups, a flexural test was performed using universal testing machine, in which the fracture resistance was measured by recording the force at which the specimen was fractured. Results: The fracture resistance after adhesive luting increased by approximately 29% in the case of the composite resin, 26% in the case of the lithium disilicate glass ceramic, and only 2% in the case of Y-TZP as compared to non-adhesive luting. Conclusions: The fracture resistance of Y-TZP did not increased significantly after adhesive luting as compared to that of the composite resin and the lithium disilicate glass ceramic.

접착 및 기계적 프레스 접합부에서의 인장-박리 피로강도 평가 (Fatigue Strength Evaluation of Tensile-Peel Loaded Adhesively Bonded and Mechanical Pressed Joints)

  • The tensile and fatigue experiments were conducted with tensile-peel specimens for investigating on strength of adhesively bonded and mechanical press joints of aluminum sheet used in the field of the automobile industry. The combining epoxy adhesive bonding and mechanical press joining exhibits an increase in joining force as a result of interaction between static forces of the two joining methods. The fatigue strength of pure adhesive joint was measured as 91% of that of the combination of adhesive bond and mechanical press joint, suggesting that the interaction between the bonding and mechanical joining was about 9%.

  • Robot are necessary to automate the work on a vertical plane of work piece to produce a large structure like a ship, so that a permanent magnet wheel has been attempted to be used for a mobile robot. Its adhesive power was enhanced by restricting the occurrence direction of magnetic flow. Furthermore a method which weakened the adhesive force was developed for easy detachement of the wheel by changing magnetic flow with metal pin. To measure the characteristics of the adhesive and detaching farces, a load call and a gaussmeter were used. The result showed that the adhesive power was reduced to 1/3 of normal state by using 4 inducing pins.

  • Sibutramine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor indicated for the management of obesity in conjunction with a reduced calorie diet. The oral administration of sibutramine is followed by its dose-related side effects. In this study, sibutramine was formulated into drug in adhesive (DIA) patches in an attempt to overcome these problems. The effects of different formulation variables including pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA), loading amount of drug, thickness of matrix and enhancer on the skin permeation of the drug were evaluated using excised hairless mouse skin. In the acrylic adhesive with carboxyl functional group, low release of sibutramine was observed due to the strong interaction between carboxyl group of adhesive and amine group of sibutramine. The acrylic adhesive without functional group provided good adhesion force and allowed high drug loading. Changing drug load as well as thickness of the matrix was found to alter permeation rate. $Crovol^{(R)}$ PK40 and $Crovol^{(R)}$ A40, were found to be effective enhancers for sibutramine. The optimized patch contained 20% sibutramine, and 5% $Crovol^{(R)}$ A40 as permeation enhancer, in $80\;{\mu}m$ thick Duro-$Tak^{(R)}$ 87-9301 matrix.

서로 다른 측쇄 종류를 가진 주 단량체에 따른 수성 아크릴계 점착제의 물리적 특성 (Physical Properties of Water-Based Acrylic Adhesives According to Main Monomers with Different Side Chain Types)

  • 본 연구에서는 수성 아크릴계 점착제의 물성에 대한 주 단량체의 측쇄 사슬의 영향을 비교하기 위해 주 단량체로 각각 ethyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, lauryl methacrylate를 사용하여 acrylic acid, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate와 공중합체를 합성하여 수성 아크릴 점착제를 제조하였다. 제조한 수성 아크릴 점착제의 고형분, 평균입도분포, 초기점착력, 최대점착력, 박리강도, 내열점착력 등의 물리적 특성을 비교하였다.

  • Quantitative evaluation of substrates for cells is essential to understanding cell-material adhesive interaction and it is also necessary for the development of new biomaterials. Many cells on adhesive molecules will form an organization of actin into bundles and production of the large, highly organized structures termed focal adhesions. To better understand adhesion formations between cells and substrata, we have quantified the force required to displace attached cell. we allowed rabbit knee chondrocyte to attach on a substratum of microscope slide glass. Our results demonstrate that a force is required to detach cells is changed according to detachment time variation.
