In recent years, in an effort to improve the efficiency and the power density of the front-end power factor correction(PFC), the interleaving of multiple converter is employed. The conventional interleaved continuous conduction mode(CCM) boost PFC converter requires input and output voltage sensing and three current sensing to obtain current balancing between modules. In this paper, the interleaved CCM PFC converter based on modulated carrier control is proposed. With the proposed method, two phase interleaved PFC can be realized simply without line voltage sensing resistor and can achieve current balancing without additional current sensing resistor on common return path. The simulation studies are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

The Korea film industry has matured and the number of movie-watching per capita has reached the highest level in the world. Since then, movie industry growth rate is decreasing and even the total sales of movies per year slightly decreased in 2018. The number of moviegoers is the first factor of sales in movie industry and also an important factor influencing additional sales. Thus it is important to predict the number of movie audiences. In this study, we predict the cumulative number of audiences of films using stacking, an ensemble method. Stacking is a kind of ensemble method that combines all the algorithms used in the prediction. We use box office data from Korea Film Council and web comment data from Daum Movie (www.movie.daum.net). This paper describes the process of collecting and preprocessing of explanatory variables and explains regression models used in stacking. Final stacking model outperforms in the prediction of test set in terms of RMSE.

A new three-phase soft-switching active front-end inverter is presented. The topology consists of a quasi-resonant PWM boost converter with an additional resonant branch, which provides low loss at high frequency operation. This leads to a high conversion efficiency and a remarkable reduction in the size of the input inductor. To synchronise the PWM pattern with the resonance cycle, a modified space vector modulation with asymmetrical PWM pattern is used. A high power factor can be achieved for both power flow directions. Due to a new control strategy the converter features a low content of harmonics in the line currents even for distorted line voltages.
Quality assurance in the process of manufacturing high strengh bolt sets used in the frictional joints of structures in one of important concern to users as well as to manufactures. In case of occurrences of either defective or low-quality products, even if they are quite rare, some systematic means of localizing the cause-characteristics and matching to corresponding production process is necessary. Control chart of torque factor is the primary indicatir in finding defectiveness of the products. Use of correlation diagrams ofnhardness of the bolt set presents in part a way of screening the cause. Retest data of the bolt set provide additional ideas of localizing the cause, for which theoretical background is presented in this regard. A process-characteristics matrix relating the causes of low quality to the corresponding process of manufacturing, which is of prime importance for the feedback control of production, is also proposed. Finally general features of control to assure quality of the set is described.
This study proposes a method to overcome the limited detection range of short-baseline stereo cameras (SBSCs). The proposed method includes two steps: (1) predicting an unscaled initial depth using monocular depth estimation (MDE) and (2) adjusting the unscaled initial depth by a scale factor. The scale factor is computed by triangulating the sparse visual keypoints extracted from the left and right images of the SBSC. The proposed method allows the use of any pre-trained MDE model without the need for additional training or data collection, making it efficient even when considering the computational constraints of small platforms. Using an open dataset, the performance of the proposed method was demonstrated by comparing it with other conventional stereo-based depth estimation methods.

Objectives: The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the factors related with additional administration of sedative agent during intravenous conscious sedation (IVS) using midazolam (MDZ). The secondary purpose was to analyze the factors affecting patient satisfaction. Materials and Methods: Clinical data for 124 patients who had undergone surgical extraction of mandibular third molar under IVS using MDZ were retrospectively investigated in this case-control study. The initial dose of MDZ was determined by body mass index (BMI) and weight. In the case of insufficient sedation at the beginning of surgery, additional doses were injected. During surgery, peripheral oxygen saturation, bispectral index score (BIS), heart rate, and blood pressure were monitored and recorded. The predictor variables were sex, age, BMI, sleeping time ratio, dental anxiety, Pederson scale, and initial dose of MDZ. The outcome variables were additional administration of MDZ, observer's assessment of alertness/sedation, intraoperative amnesia, and patient satisfaction. Descriptive statistics were computed, and the P-value was set at 0.05. Results: Most patients had an adequate level of sedation with only the initial dose of MDZ and were satisfied with the treatment under sedation; however, 19 patients needed additional administration, and 13 patients were unsatisfied. In multivariable logistic analysis, lower age (odds ratio [OR], 0.825; P=0.005) and higher dental anxiety (OR, 5.744; P=0.003) were related to additional administration; lower intraoperative amnesia (OR, 0.228; P=0.002) and higher BIS right before MDZ administration (OR, 1.379; P=0.029) had relevance to patient dissatisfaction. Conclusion: The preoperative consideration of age and dental anxiety is necessary for appropriate dose determination of MDZ in the minor oral surgery under IVS. The amnesia about the procedure affects patient satisfaction positively.
von Willebrand factor (vWF) is a multimeric glycoprotein which functions within the coagulation system. It colocalizes with factor VIII (FVIII) by non-covalent interaction and alters its intracellular trafficking. vWF is also instrumental in maintaining the stability of secreted FVIII. The principal objective of this study was to generate a lentivirus-based vWF expression vector for gene therapy of hemophilia A. We inserted a vWF of 8.8 Kb into a lentiviral vector thereby producing VSV-G-pseudotyped vEx52. However, its titer was quite low, presumably because the length of vWF gene exceeds the size limit of the lentiviral vector. In order to overcome the low-titer, we concentrated the vEx52 and thus increased the efficiency of transduction approximately 6-fold with $1/100^{th}$ of the volume. However, as concentration requires an additional laborious step, we attempted to enhance the transduction efficiency by deleting exons 24-46 and 29-46 in pRex52 to construct pRex23 and pRex28, and in pvEx52, yielding pvEx23 and pvEx28, respectively. The transfected pRex52 had a profound effect on the activity of secreted FVIII, and this activity declined as domains of vWF were deleted. However, when the domain-deleted vWF-lentiviruses were transduced into K562 cells, the vEx28 increased the activity of the secreted FVIII compared to what was observed with vEx52. This result is probably due to higher efficiencies of transduction and expression while retaining the essential domains required for proper interaction with FVIII.
This paper presents a novel high-power-factor circuit topology of AC to AC current-fed type high frequency resonant inverter which includes the function of power factor correction(PFC) in the proposed inverter to operate the AC input block with high power factor. The proposed circuit topology of AC to AC current fed type high resonant inverter removes DC link electrolytic capacitor and has also the one of power factor correction(PFC) in the inverter circuit without an additional PFC circuit since the input current by constituting it in parallel as an unit inverter, which assumes the class-E high frequency resonant inverter of conventional current-fed type, flows in the form of the resultant current flowing through each constant current reactor($L_{d1}$, $L_{d2}$). The circuit analysis of proposed inverter is generally described by adopting the normalized parameters and the evaluation of its operating characteristics are conducted by using the parameters such as the ratio of switching and resonant frequency(${\mu}$), coupling coefficient(k) and so on. An example of procedure for circuit design based on the characteristic values obtained from the theoretical analysis is presented. To confirm the validity of the theoretical analysis, the experimental results are also presented. In the future, the proposed inverter shows it can be practically used as power supply system for induction heating application, DC-DC converter etc.
Loran(LOang RAnge Navigation) 신호에 의한 항법은 GPS(Global Positioning System) 활성화 전까지 주요한 항법시스템으로 이용되어 왔다.
