Al-Cu-Mu 주조합금의 피로성질에 미치는 Sn 첨가의 영향 (Effect of Sn Addition on the Fatigue Properties of Al-Cu-Mn Cast Alloy)

  • Effect of Sn addition on the fatigue properties of Al-Cu-Mn cast alloy was investigated by low and high cycle fatigue tests. Fatigue life showed the maximum value of 5450cycles in the Al-Cu-Mn alloy containing 0.10%Sn, but decreased rapidly beyond 0.20% of Sn additions. It was found that the fatigue strength was 132MPa and fatigue ratio was 0.31 in the alloy containing 0.10%Sn. Metallographic observation revealed that the fatigue crack initiated at the surface and propagated along the grain boundary. This propagation path was attributed to the presence of PFZ along the grain boundary. The tensile strength increased from 330MPa in 7he Sn-free Al-Cu-Mn cast alloy to 429MPa in the alloy containing 0.10%Sn. But above 0.20%Sn additions, tensile strength was decreased by the segregation of Sn.

마늘 분말을 첨가한 소맥분의 리올로지 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Rheology Characteristics of Flour Containing Garlic Powder)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of garlic powder on medium and cake flours using falling number and RVA tests, as well as alveograms and farinograms. The garlic powder was added to the medium and cake flour bases at 2 and 4%, respectively. Falling numbers increased with the addition of garlic powder. The peak viscosity of the medium flour containing 2% garlic powder was highest while that made with 4% garlic powder showed a decrease in peak viscosity. The addition of garlic powder increased the set-back value, thus the garlic powder did not have an anti-retrogradation effect. The alveographic P values of the treatment were lower than that of the control, but the L value was not significantly different. On the farinogram, water absorption was decreased in the flours containing garlic powder and development time was increased. In conclusion, the addition of 2% garlic powder is recommended to improve the volume and stability of cake.

가염 토마토 분말의 품질특성에 관한 연구 (Quality Characteristics of Salted Tomato Powder)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the physical and sensory properties of seasoned powders utilizing tomato. Methods: Tests of salted tomato powder were performed for the physiochemical properties (moisture content, pH value, titratable acidity, color value, salinity content, and solubility content), sensory characteristics and sensory preference. Results: Moisture content of salted tomato powder containing fully ripened tomato (RT) was higher than that of salted tomato powder containing cherry tomato (CT), with the exception of CT 10%. The pH values of RT was relatively high and increased salt addition increased the pH as well. The titratable acidity was opposite the result of pH measurement. The color values of RT was higher than that of CT for the L, a, and b values. The salt content of RT was higher than that of CT. RT 10% showed the highest dissolution followed by CT 10%. In addition, the sensory preference for CT 10% was the highest, with the best scores for appearance and taste. Conclusion: It was concluded that 10% salt addition is the most suitable sensually for the manufacture of salted tomato powder.

Unemployment and Shadow Economy in ASEAN Countries

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between unemployment and shadow economy for 7 selected ASEAN countries using panel data from 2000-2017. This study uses a sample of 7 ASEAN countries including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam covering the 2000-2017 period. The stationarity of the variables is determined by Pesaran panel unit-root tests. The Westerlund panel co-integration technique is used to examine the long-run relationship among the variables. In addition, dynamic ordinary least squares (DOLS) and fully modified ordinary least squares (FMOLS) methods are also employed. The DOLS and FMOLS results indicate that unemployment acts as an important driver for the increase in the shadow economy. In addition, the study results also reveal that GDP per capita has a negative impact on the shadow economy. Moreover, government expenditure, bank credit, and inflation are positively related to the shadow economy. The empirical results indicate that the size of the shadow economy is boosted by unemployment in the selected ASEAN economies. In addition, it is also evident that an increase of GDP per capita in the sample countries results in a lower shadow economy. Besides, government expenditure, bank credit, and inflation play a crucial role in the shadow economy.

초기항타 및 재항타 동재하시험 결과를 조합한 매입말뚝의 하중-침하량 곡선 산정 (Estimation of Load-Settlement Curves of Embedded Piles Combining Results of End of Initial Driving and Restrike Dynamic Pile Tests)

  • 매입말뚝의 주면마찰력은 공벽에 주입되는 시멘트풀로 발휘되므로, 시멘트풀이 양생되기 이전에 수행되는 초기항타시험으로 매입말뚝의 주면마찰력을 평가할 수 없다. 또한, 재항타시험 시 항타에너지 부족으로 충분히 선단지지력이 발휘되지 않아 매입말뚝의 최종 지지력이 제대로 평가되지 않을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 매입말뚝의 초기항타시험과 재항타시험의 결과를 조합하는 새로운 하중-침하량 곡선을 제안하고자 하였다. 현장에 시험말뚝을 매입말뚝공법으로 시공하였으며, 초기항타 및 재항타시험을 수행하고 동재하시험 결과에 대하여 CAPWAP(CAse Pile Wave Analysis Program) 분석을 수행하였다. 초기항타 시 선단 지지거동과 재항타 시 주면 지지거동을 조합한 말뚝 내 하중전이곡선을 가정하였으며, 하중-침하량 곡선을 새롭게 산정하였다. 또한 조합된 하중-침하량 곡선을 이용하여 시험말뚝의 지지력을 평가하였으며 이를 초기항타 및 재항타시험 결과와 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 조합된 하중-침하량 곡선으로 산정된 지지력은 항타에너지 부족으로 인한 지지력 과소평가를 극복할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 가정된 하중전이곡선은 초기항타 및 재항타시험 결과와 비교했을 때 매입말뚝의 지지거동에 더 가까우므로, 조합된 하중-침하량 곡선을 이용함으로써 정재하시험 결과와 더 유사한 지지력을 산정할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 제안한 조합된 하중-침하량 곡선을 사용함으로써 매입말뚝의 동재하시험 시 지지력을 효과적으로 평가할 수 있다.

Comparison of Motor Skill Acquisition according to Types of Sensory-Stimuli Cue in Serial Reaction Time Task

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate whether types of sensory-stimuli cues in terms of visual, auditory, and visuoauditory cues can be affected to motor sequential learning in healthy adults, using serial reaction time task. Methods: Twenty four healthy subjects participated in this study, who were randomly allocated into three groups, in terms of visual-stimuli (VS) group, auditory-stimuli (AS) group, and visuoauditory-stimuli (VAS) group. In SRT task, eight Arabic numbers were adopted as presentational stimulus, which were composed of three different types of presentational modules, in terms of visual, auditory, and visuoauditory stimuli. On an experiment, all subjects performed total 3 sessions relevant to each stimulus module with a pause of 10 minutes for training and pre-/post-tests. At the pre- and post-tests, reaction time and accuracy were calculated. Results: In reaction time, significant differences were founded in terms of between-subjects, within-subjects, and interaction effect for group ${\times}$ repeated factor. In accuracy, no significant differences were observed in between-group and interaction effect for groups ${\times}$ repeated factor. However, a significant main effect of within-subjects was observed. In addition, a significant difference was showed in comparison of differences of changes between the pre- and post-test only in the reaction time among three groups. Conclusion: This study suggest that short-term sequential motor training on one day induced behavioral modification, such as speed and accuracy of motor response. In addition, we found that motor training using visual-stimuli cue showed better effect of motor skill acquisition, compared to auditory and visuoauditory-stimuli cues.

Unconfined compressive strength and freeze-thaw resistance of sand modified with sludge ash and polypropylene fiber

  • In recent years, the amount of sludge ash (SA) has considerably increased due to rapid urbanization and population growth. In addition, its storage in landfills induces environmental pollution and health problems. Therefore, its disposal in an environmentally friendly way has become more important. The main goal of this study is to investigate the reusability of sludge ash as an additive with polypropylene fiber (PF) to stabilize marginal sand based on the compressive strength performances from UCS tests. For this purpose, a series of UCS tests was conducted. Throughout the experimental study, the used inclusion rates were 10, 15, 20 and 30% for sludge ash and 0, 0.5 and 1% for polypropylene fiber by total dry weight of the sand+sludge ash mixture and the prepared samples were cured for 7 and 14 days prior to the testing. Freezing and thawing resistance of the mixture including 10% sludge ash and 0, 0.5 and 1% polypropylene fiber was also examined. On the basis of UCS testing results, it is said that sludge ash inclusion remarkably enhances UCS performance of sand. Moreover, the addition of polypropylene fiber to the admixtures including sand and sludge ash significantly improves their stress-strain characteristics and post-peak strength loss as well as UCS. As a result of this paper, it is suggested that sludge ash be successfully reused with polypropylene fiber for stabilizing sand in soil stabilization applications. It is also believed that the findings of this study will contribute to some environmental concerns such as the disposal problem of sludge ash, recycling, sustainability, environmental pollution, etc. as well as the cost of an engineering project.

제주도 북서부 및 남동부 현무암의 물리적 & 역학적 특성 (Physical and Mechanical Characteristics of Basalts in Northwestern and Southeastern Jeju Island)

  • 제주도 화산암은 여러 환경적인 요인으로 인하여 크기와 분포가 다양한 기공이 많은 다공성 구조를 보이고 있으며, 지질학적 그리고 역학적 특성 또한 지역마다 차이를 나타내고 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 제주도의 기반암은 여러 차례의 화산활동으로 인해 현무암층 사이에 연약층인 화산쇄설물 및 공동이 불규칙하게 발달된 층상구조로 이루어져 있다. 본 연구에서는 제주도 북서부 육 해상에서 채취한 현무암 암석에 대하여 다양한 물성 시험 및 일축압축강도 시험을 수행하고, 그 결과를 제주도 남동부 해상에서 채취한 현무암 암석의 물리적, 역학적 특성과 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 제주도 북서부 육 해상에서 채취한 현무암 암석의 물리, 역학적 특성은 제주도 남동부 해상에서 채취한 현무암 암석과 유사한 관계에 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며, 물리적 특성과 역학적 특성의 상관관계로부터 대략적인 설계정수를 추정할 수 있었다.

누전차단기 절연재료의 소손 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Damage by Burning Characteristics of Insulating Materials of RCD)

  • 본 연구는 국내에서 사용되고 있는 누전차단기 외함 절연재료의 소손 특성에 대하여 연구하였다. 시료는 3개 제조사의 누전차단기 외함 절연재료를 사용하였으며, 시료의 열분해특성, 연소특성, 트래킹 특성 등을 비교 분석하였다. 열분해특성은 TGA를 사용하였으며, 연소특성은 ISO5660(Fire Tests - Reaction to Fire, part 1)을 만족하는 Mass Loss Calorimeter(FTT 사)를 사용하였고, 트래킹 특성은 고체 절연재료의 내트래킹 및 비교트래킹 지수를 측정하는 실험인 KSC IEC 60112.의 기준에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과 A제조사의 경우 내트래킹성이 가장 우수하였고, B제조사의 경우 내트래킹성이 가장 낮은 반면 $350^{\circ}C$ 이상의 고온에서 열안정성이 가장 우수하였으며, C제조사의 경우 $400^{\circ}C$ 이하의 온도에서 열안정성이 가장 우수한 것을 알 수 있었다.

다양한 기하학적 인자를 고려한 고무받침의 압축 및 전단 내력 (Compression and Shear Capacity of Rubber Bearings with Various Geometric Parameters)

  • 본 논문에서는 적층탄성받침과 납 고무받침을 대상으로 재료 및 기하비선형을 고려한 3차원 유한요소로 모델링하고 다양한 파라미터에 대한 압축 및 전단특성을 비교 분석하여 적층고무받침의 해석적 데이터베이스를 구축하였다. 유한요소해석에서 적층고무받침을 모델링하기 위해서 고무시편시험을 통해 고무의 응력-변형률 관계를 얻어내고 커브피팅을 이용하여 고무재료상수를 구하였다. 고무재료상수를 검증하기 위하여 실제 적층탄성받침 제품 시험과 유한요소해석을 비교함으로서 고무재료상수의 유효성을 확인하였다. 적층탄성받침과 납고무받침의 압축거동은 1차 형상계수에 따라서 가장 큰 영향을 받았으며, 전단거동은 2차 형상계수에 따라 크게 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 납의 직경이 증가할수록 납 고무받침의 수평강성과 에너지 소산능력이 증가하였다.
