  • Saxifraga hirculus is classified as a vulnerable plant species in Europe, and it is confined to base-rich flushes in the British uplands. However, a lack of available information about its conservation status hampers the development of adaptive strategies for its in-situ conservation, especially with respect to grazing. To assess the effectiveness of sheep grazing in maintaining viable populations of S. hirculus, we compared the community dynamics of the vegetation in a base-rich flush over 44 years in two plots: one sheep-grazed under business-as-usual sheep grazing densities and the other fenced to exclude grazing. The plots were established in 1972, and the abundances of all vascular plants, bryophytes, and litter were measured at six intervals until 2016. Our results showed that although the presence of S. hirculus was maintained in both plots over the 44 years, it declined and reached a minimum between 1995 and 2010, when it was close to extinction. Since 2013, Saxifraga has recovered only slightly. Interestingly, the S. hirculus response appeared to be independent of grazing treatment, but it mirrored wider changes in the vegetation composition and structure within the flush over the 44 years. These changes are similar to others reported in broader uplands that have been attributed to a combination of reduced nitrogen and sulfur deposition and global warming. Thus, the simple adaptive management approach of "just managing" sheep grazing appeared ineffectual for preserving the S. hirculus population. S. hirculus showed signs of recovery at the end of the study period within this base-rich flush.

  • This study used a latent growth curve models(LGCM) to examine longitudinal changes in youth's game usage, self-control and the longitudinal mediation effect of adaptive game use in the relationship between game usage and self-control. A four-year longitudinal data of 863 adolescents from the Game User Panel Survey, provided through participation in the 2019 Game User Panel Research Conference hosted by the Korea Creative Contents Agency, was used to verify the longitudinal mediation effect of adaptive game use. SPSS 21 was used to verify the normality of variables from each wave, and to conduct correlation analysis. Mplus 6.12 was used to verify the longitudinal mediation effect. The results are as follows. First, game usage, self-control and adaptive game yielded linear temporal growth. Second, latent growth curve models showed that the direct effect of game usage on self-control was insignificant, but game usage had a significant indirect effect on self-control through adaptive game use. Continuous adaptive gaming increased self-control. Third, sobel test results showed that both the initial value and change rate of adaptive game use had a full-mediation effect, confirming the longitudinal mediation effect. This study verified the longitudinal change of self-control affected by change in game usage and adaptive game use.

  • This paper describes the parameter adjustment method of fuzzy membership function to improve the performance of multi-sensor fusion system using adaptive fuzzy-Kalman filter and cross-validation. The adaptive fuzzy-Kanlman filter has two input parameters, variation of accelerometer measurements and residual error of Kalman filter. The filter estimates system noise R and measurement noise Q, then changes the Kalman gain. To evaluate proposed adaptive fuzzy-Kalman filter, we make the two-axis AHRS(Attitude Heading Reference System) using fusion of an accelerometer and a gyro sensor. Then we verified its performance by comparing to NAV420CA-100 to be used in various fields of airborne, marine and land applications.

  • The adaptive accounting control system can be regarded as an realistic control system which can adapt itself to uncertain enviromental changes. It has characters that can measure the extend to which we attain our goals and give intelligence, which is essential to planning for the future and for decision making. The budget should present the aim of the compilation of the budget and synthesize the limit through the systematic plan about the utilization of resources, because is a financial plan that is used as estimate of future management operations and as a control of it. If we would like to make good use of this business budget as a tool for planning, we should try to opimize all over the business by relating business operation as far as the effective use of the economic resources in business and the supplying of it are concerned and financial budgets to the responsibility unit center. As this paper is about the budgetary management pattern of marketing based on the adaptive accounting control system, I shall begin with a description of the feature and role of responsible accounting system in management accounting. I shall also deal with the Ex ante accounting system and the Ex post optimum accounting system which are essential to the control stage of business budgeting. And finally, accounting to the control process of adaptive accounting system that fit in with the reality, I shall design a budgetary management pattern of marking section. I wish this paper would be helpful to the activity of budgetary management. A budget is an important step of diverging point. Consequently, when we set up a budgetary pattern based on the adaptive accounting system as far as the control accounting is concerned. I believe that the step of responsible accounting will be a more elaborate and scientific step of management.

  • As software is widely used on various environments today, there is an increasing need for adaptive software. Adaptive software is robust and flexible software that modifies its own behavior in response to the changes in its environment. Due to time constraints, high complexity and so on, it is hard to acquire context information from environment. So, when implementing software, it is common to think easily acquired data to be the environments. This research proposes an adaptive software framework that assumes plane images to be environments. Plane images are easy to acquire and have enough complexity. From this, our framework is able to acquire context information, reasons with action rule, and acts on the result of reasoning. Stand on this framework, implements software that plays a simple game automatically.

  • Recently, the web-based adaptive streaming service, DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP), is receiving more attention. However, existing network-based and buffer-based video quality control schemes in DASH environments make oscillation of segment throughput, causing degradation of the quality of experience (QoE) with frequent quality changes and playback interruptions because these schemes do not consider the content characteristics. In this paper, we propose a C-DASH (Content Characteristics based Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) scheme in order to improve the QoE in DASH environments. The C-DASH scheme performs seamless and smooth quality control based on the segment throughput, buffer status, and segment size of the content. Based on simulation results, it is confirmed that the C-DASH scheme can improve the QoE, when compared with the existing quality control schemes.
