The STS contents, emphasized in the 6th curriculum, in the chemistry textbooks(II) were analyzed. The STS contents in textbooks showed average value of 2.7%. The chapter of ‘chemical bond and compound' were included 3.8% of STS contents. And the chapter of ‘atomic structure and periodic table', ‘state of material and solution', ‘science of material', and ‘chemical reaction' contained 3.2%, 2.2%, 1.9%, and 1.9% of STS contents, respectively. When the STS contents were analyzed by STS topics of Piel, the results are as follows; 33.7% on effect of technological developments, 27.5% on environmental quality and utilization of natural source, 19.6% on human engineering, 13.8% on energy, and 5.4% on sociality of science. However, there were no topics on population, space research and national defense. When the STS contents were analyzed by student activities of SATIS, most of the activities were research and case study. There were few field activities of practical investigation, problem solving and decision making, research design and stimulation. There were no activities of role play.

Hypoparathyroidism has abnormally decreased secretion of parathyroid hormon which responds to the blood calcium level. Wherease, Pseudohypoparathyroidism has normal activity of thyroid hormon, but end-organs, such as urinary tract and osteoclast, do not respond to parathyroid hormon. The cause of this disease is due to the mutation of Guanine stimulating(Gs) protein regulating Gs gene, which is the receptor to this hormon. Pseudohypoparathyroidism is usually noted before 20 years old on average of 8-9 years old. The clinical features of this disease includes delayed growth and development, round face, obesity, soft tissue calcification, ectopic ossification, shortening of metacarpals and metatarsals by epiphyseal closure in advance of age. The mutation of Gs gene which are found in brain, endocrine organs, and chondrocytes is the cause of those features. Reaction to Glucagon, gonadal hormon, and thyroid stimulating hormon is not expected in both cases. The common dental manifestations include enamel hypoplasia, delayed eruption, agenesis of tooth, hypodontia, dysplastic short roots, widened pulpal space, microdontia, intrapulpal calcification, and malocclusion are also often reported. This case which is diagnosed to Pseudohypoparathyroidism showed short and under-developed root of permanent troth, delayed eruption, and non-eruption of premolars and molars. And morphogenesis imperfecta of first and second premolars were also found.
Previous Earth Science textbooks have mostly lacked the latest astronomical phenomena frequently being reported in mass media such as popular science magazines. One of the main directions in the revision of the 2009 National Curriculum of Korea is to actively include those phenomena. Furthermore, despite a close link between astronomy and physics, the concept of modern physics has not been actively introduced in Earth Science textbooks and at the same time the linkage of physics to astronomy has rarely been studies in physics textbooks. Therefore, the concept of integration among different fields in science is emphasized in the new National Curriculum. Transient phenomena in the high energy astrophysical objects are examples that reflect such issue. The purpose of this study is to introduce transferring a real-time data and making imaging of astronomical observations using e-Science. As a first step, we performed the first experiment for a large data transfer of astronomical observation between Korea and Japan using KOREN, a National Research and Education Test Network. We introduce actively on-going fields of e-Science in observational activities of astronomy and astrophysics, and their close interrelationship with scientific inquiry activities and public outreach activities. We discuss our experiment in the scientific and educational aspects to the primitive e-Science activity in the Korean astronomical society and, in turn, provide a prospective view for its application to the scientific inquiry activities and public outreach activities in the upcoming commercial Gbps-level internet environments.
The study aims to reflect the elementary school geometry education based on the Realistic Mathematics Education in the Netherlands in the light of the results from recent researches in geometry education and the direction of geometry standards for school mathematics of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics in order to induce implications for improving korean geometry curriculum and textbook series. In order to attain these purposes, the present paper reflects the history of elementary school geometry education in the Netherlands, sketches the elementary school geometry education based on the Realistic Mathematics Education in the Netherlands by reflecting general goals of the mathematics education, the core goals for geometry strand of the Netherlands, and geometry and spatial orientation strand of Dutch Pluspunt textbook series for the elementary school more concretely. Under these reflections on the documents, it is analyzed what is the characteristics of geometry strand in the Netherlands as follows: emphasis on realistic spatial phenomenon, intuitive and informal approach, progressive approach from intuitive activity to spatial reasoning, intertwinement of mathematics strands and other disciplines, emphasis on interaction of the students, cyclical repetition of experiencing phase, explaining phases, and connecting phase. Finally, discussing points for improving our elementary school geometry curriculum and textbook series development are described as follows: introducing spatial orientation and emphasizing spatial visualization and spatial reasoning with respect to the instruction contents, considering balancing between approach stressing on grasping space and approach stressing on logical structure of geometry, intuitive approach, and integrating mathematics strands and other disciplines with respect to the instruction method.
Cordycepin separated from Cordyceps militaris is a major physiologic active component in Cordyceps militaris. The platelet aggregation is stimulated by $Ca^{2+}$, which is either mobilized from intracellular endoplasmic reticulum or transported from extracellular space. cGMP antagonizes the actions of $Ca^{2+}$. Based on these facts, we have investigated the effects of cordycepin on the mobilization of $Ca^{2+}$ and the production of cGMP on collagen ($10\mu$g/ml)-induced human platelet aggregation. Cordycepin potently stimulated the human platelet aggregation induced by collagen ($10\mu$g/ml) in a dose-dependent manner. Cordycepin (500 $\mu$M) inhibited also the collagen-induced human platelet aggregation in the presence both 1 mM and 2 mM of $CaCl_2$. These are in accord with the results that cordycepin inhibited the $Ca^{2+}$- influx on collagen-induced human platelet aggregation. These results suggest that cordycepin decrease the intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ concentration to inhibit collagen-induced human platelet aggregation. Besides, cordycepin increased the level of cGMP on collagen-induced human platelet aggregation. This result is related with the decrease of intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ concentration, because cGMP inhibits the mobilization of $Ca^{2+}$. In addition, cordycepin inhibited the human platelet aggregation induced by LY -83583, inhibitor of guanylate cyclase. This result suggested that cordycepin inhibit the platelet aggregation by stimulating the activity of guanylate cyclase. In conclusion, we demonstrated that cordycepin might have the antiplatelet function by inhibiting $Ca^{2+}$-mobilization via the stimulation of the production of cGMP.

The purpose of this study is to classify and assess the characteristics of urban Korean parks by on-site park users' reactions, such as satisfaction, preference and cognitive image of the park and park facilities. The park facilities are classified into five types of satisfaction: management status, activity facilities, convenient facilities, circulation and density, and landscape facilities. The park users are satisfied with conversation, rest and relaxation in the parks, but not satisfied with studying and nature experience. The behaviors in the park are classified as park activities, emotional and experiential activities, and nature activities. The results indicate that the images of the parks are stable, comfortable and natural. There are three factors to classifying the park images: nature-harmony, openness, uniqueness. Preferences for each parks are generally good. According to the criteria such as satisfaction of park facility, behavioral satisfaction, images and preference for each park, the 12 parks are divided into 5 different types: multi-purpose park, well-balanced park with natural elements, urban open space, park to be improved, and ecological park. The characteristics of each park was analyzed and categorized. This study dealt with only the parks in Seoul and its environs, and the survey was only done during the summer season. Therefore, further research is necessary to enlarge and generalize the results of this study, considering seasonal and regional variations.
This research is to analyze the spatial information search features which shown by Eye fixation and movement and conducted eye tracking experiment for targeting sports shop spatial images which it are same but looks different. This is able to find out the eye movement feature according to placement of goods from the eye movement and movement distance of spatial visitor, and the result can be defined as following. First, the whole original-reverse left / right images have a higher number of observations in the [IN] area than in the [OUT] area. This is because after eye taking high observations in LA area of [IN] have been jump-over [OUT], performed search activities in low eye fixation without high eye fixation. Second, there was a difference in the frequency of the observation data as the composition of the images changed. The original image has been often fixed the eyes in LA area, and the one that has been observed for a long time is reverse left / right image. Also, fixation point was shown higher at the reverse left / right image as jump-over from [OUT] area to [IN] area. If LA area seen as reverse left / right image, it is located in right-hand side. The case where the dominant area is on the right side has a characteristic that the eye fixation is longer. This can be understand that the arrangement of products for attract the customer's attention in the commercial space might be more effective when it is on the right side. Third, the moving distance(IN ${\rightarrow}$ OUT) of the sight pointed to external from LA area was long in the both original-reverse left / right images, but it is no relation with search direction([IN${\rightarrow}$OUT] [IN${\rightarrow}$OUT]) of the sight. In other words, the sight that entered in LA area can be seen as visual perception activity for re-searching after big jump-over, in the case go in to outward (OUT area) after searching for more than certain time. The fact that the moving distance of eye is relatively short in the [IN ${\rightarrow}$ OUT] process considered as that the gaze that stays outside the LA area naturally enters in to LA area.
In the main target area of the block II, Targe-scale faults occur below the unconformity developed around 1 km in depth. The contrast of seismic velocity around the unconformity is generally so large that the strong multiples and the radical velocity variation would deteriorate the quality of migrated section due to serious distortion. More than 15 kinds of data processing techniques have been applied to improve the image resolution for the structures farmed from this active crustal activity. The bad and noisy traces were edited on the common shot gathers in the first step to get rid of acquisition problems which could take place from unfavorable conditions such as climatic change during data acquisition. Correction of amplitude attenuation caused from spherical divergence and inelastic attenuation has been also applied. Mild F/K filter was used to attenuate coherent noise such as guided waves and side scatters. Predictive deconvolution has been applied before stacking to remove peg-leg multiples and water reverberations. The velocity analysis process was conducted at every 2 km interval to analyze migration velocity, and it was iterated to get the high fidelity image. The strum noise caused from streamer was completely removed by applying predictive deconvolution in time space and ${\tau}-P$ domain. Residual multiples caused from thin layer or water bottom were eliminated through parabolic radon transform demultiple process. The migration using curved ray Kirchhoff-style algorithm has been applied to stack data. The velocity obtained after several iteration approach for MVA (migration velocity analysis) was used instead or DMO for the migration velocity. Using various testing methods, optimum seismic processing parameter can be obtained for structural and stratigraphic interpretation in the Block II, Yellow Sea Basin.
Maker activity, mainly practiced in informal or non-formal education environments activities, was expanded to the form of maker education' due to its various educational values and effects. Yet, one of the difficulties in practicing the maker education in school education is the lack of makerspace as a space for the maker activities. In this context, this study aimed to examine the process of how the students make the makerspace in their school and to define its educational effects defined as 'maker spirits.' For this purpose, this study developed a maker education program for 22 $10^{th}$ graders in an high school for 8 weeks who had participated in the project of 'Making Makerspace'. The results of the program were analyzed through data collected from reflective journals, interview, and observation journals. In conclusion, this study presented a practical and helpful way to make 'Makerspace' in school and at the same time, confirmed Maker education as constructivist learning environments re-encountered in the $21^{st}$ and as an alternative learning approach suitable for the $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution Age.
Launched in August, 2016, the online public benefit project ANT FOREST has planted more than one hundred million trees in desertification areas and is currently continuing on with its activities. It is a fruit of online communications network development, and the public benefit project based on this puts more emphasis on the spirits of public interest rather than the investments of public services, unlike traditional public benefit activities. Hence the purpose of this study is to figure out the interaction between the users supporting the online public benefit and the public benefit progress online. The study was divided into 4 stages in order to find out the interaction, key factors for users to continue to support online public interest. First, preceeding studies on online public benefit will be reviewed to understand the characteristics of online public benefit. Second, determine the public benefit nature of ANT FOREST and investigate the project progress. Third, review the usage rate of ANT FOREST and categorize the properties of users. Fourth, interview was conducted to direct the interaction between the online public benefit project and the user. In conclusion, the online public benefit project completes the public benefit process through the user, the operator, and the supporter, the important factor connecting the energy connecting the process in cyber space and the public benefit activity in reality is the sense of participation, and the user continues the public benefit project through this sense of participation.
