The purpose of this study is to observe the effect of Cordyceps Militaris(CM) complex extract treatment on patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis(RA). We reviewed medical records of 9 rheumatoid arthritis patients who visited the pain & rehabilitation center, Daejeon Korean Medicine Hospital of Daejeon University and were treated with CM complex extract from October 14, 2019 to October 14, 2020. We analyzed the records of DAS 28(Disease Activity Score 28), CDAI(Clinical Disease Activity Index), SDAI(Simplified Disease Activity Index), VAS(Visual analogue Scale), and KHAQ-D(Korean Health Assesment Questionnaire-Disability Index) before and after treatment to evaluate the effects of CM complex extract on RA. As a result, the scores of DAS 28(p<0.05), CDAI(p<0.01), SDAI(p<0.01) and VAS(p<0.01) were statistically significantly decreased, after 8 weeks of taking CM complex extract in RA patients. In conclusion, CM complex extract treatment may have potential effects of reducing disease activity and pain and improving quality of life in patients diagnosed with RA.

The following results are achieved from a mortar flow test depending on stainless steel slag fineness, rate of replacement, and a research on material age compressive strength, strength activity index. 1. Flow is proportional to the stainless steel slag fineness. 2. Mixing stainless steel slag decreases compressive strength 3. Material age compressive strength has the maximum value when stainless steel slag fineness is 6000$cm^2$/g. 4. Material age 7day strength activity index satisfies KSCE 95-01 at all conditions except the case of fineness 8000$cm^2$/gㆍstainless steel slag rate of replacement 30%. 5. Material age 28day strength activity index satisfies KSCE 95-01 in case of stainless steel slag fineness 4000$cm^2$/gㆍrate of replacement 10%, fineness 6000$cm^2$/gㆍ10%, or 20%.

The ethanol extract of Sida acuta Burm. (ALSA) whole plant was studied for its anti-ulcer activity against aspirin plus pylorous ligation induced gastric ulcer, HCl-ethanol induced ulcer, and water immersion stress induced ulcer (WISIU) in rats. We found that ALSA at a dose of 300 mg/kg, (orally) markedly decrease the incidence of ulcers in the first two models. ALSA showed reduction in gastric volume, free acidity, and ulcer index (53.69%). It has not reduced the total acidity significantly and no significant change in pH. It also showed 55.14% gastro protective activity, wheres standard drug sucralfate showed 94.85%. WISIU showed protection index 24.4%, whereas standard drug omeprazole (OMEZ) showed protection index 100%.

On the study of surface activity in excized lung extracts of various pulmonary diseases, following facts were concluded. 1]The minimum surface tension measured in lung extracts of tuberculous tissue surrounding cavitary lesion was 26.3dyne/cm and its stability index was 0.53. 2]Macroscopically almost normal lung tissue at a distance of tuberculous lesion in same lobe revealed 21.3 dyne/cm of minimum surface tension in extracts and its stability index showed 0.66. This low surface activity may be due to the chronic pneumonitis microscopically. 3] In the atelectatic lung which had been collapsed by chronic empyema the extracts revealed much higher minimum surface tension in 27.3 dyne/cm and its stabillry index revealed the least value of 0.47 without correlation of duration of disease. This suggests that the longstanding collapsed lung may be soon collapsed even after mechanical full expansion because of lack of surfactant.

This paper presents a consolidated patent index to measure national technology innovation and science technology activation, as well as index for the main constituent such as corporation, research organization by comprehensive analysis of existing patent index. It is classified by macroscopic index and analytical index in the consolidated patent index, in which macroscopic index is to present a degree of innovation in national scientific innovation and is divided into the Consolidated Patent Index and Index for comparison between countries. The analytical index basically designed to measure R&D activity by the main constituent is divided to present by quantitative index utilizing bibliographical data in patent and other technical publication related therein, and qualitative index for analysis of bibliographical data. In this paper, the Consolidated Patent Index is presented by adding Creation Index representing for patent by developing excellent technology, Evaluation Index representing valuable technology thereof, and Utility Index representing applicability diffused.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to assess the clinical effect of exercise program used for treatment of activity of daily living skill in patients with dementia. Methods : We searched foreign studies registered from 2007 to 2014 based on PubMed database, using the following search terms : dementia, alzheimer disease, cognitive impairment, exercise program, physical activity, activity of daily living, ADL. Total 5 studies included from 215 studies after analysis papers. Results : selected paper's average pedro score was 6, Katz index of ADLs, Bathel ADL index, IADL activity of daily living assessment tool were used. there was significant improves of activity of daily living skill in the use of exercise program groups and it prevent decreased of activity of daily living skill. Conclusion : This study provide evidence of exercise program applied in clinical use and demonstrate effective on activity of daily living ability. This results expected to help suggesting basic data for exercise program to improve activity of daily living ability and making effective treatment approach method in the future.

Purpose: The study compared the rest-activity rhythm and sleep pattern of elderly with young group. Methods: The subjects were 22 over than 65 years old and 23 under 65 years old. An actigraph, sleep diary, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Insomnia Severity Index scale were used as measurement tools for this study. The data were analyzed with $x^2$, Lamda test, t-test and correlation with SPSS 15.0 program. Results: The elderly had lower curve than the young group in rest-activity rhythm on each time zone. In particular, the elderly group had lower rest-activity rhythm curve of 8, 9, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 time zone than those of young group. Sleep pattern had statistical difference in the total sleep time, PSQI and insomnia. Total sleep time of elderly had lower score and PSQI and Insomnia had higher score than young group. Age had correlation with rest-activity rhythm, sleep efficiency, PSQI and insomnia. Conclusion: Rest-activity rhythm of the elderly showed an increase in activity in the early morning because of earlier get up than the young group and an decrease in activity in the afternoon because of taking a nap at this time. Elderly sleep was that total sleep time increased but sleep efficiency decreased and insomnia intensified. This sleep pattern was related to age and rest-activity rhythm.

Antioxidative effects of crude chlorophylls and carotenoids extracts from mustard leaf kimchi on the lipid peroxidation in rat liver homogenate, egg phosphatidyl choline (EPC) liposome and superoxide anion radical were examined. The extracts were found to inhibit the increase of the thiobarbituric acid (TBA) value and show the effect of antioxidative activity on the liposomal phospholipid membrane. The oxidation index of EPC liposome was markedly decreased in the prescence of the extracts. The antioxidative activity of the extracts from mustard leaf kimchi was not related with fermentation period of the kimchi. The extracts from mustard leaf showed the similar antioxidative activity of $\alpha$-tocopherol within in the given level of addition. However, the oxidation index. When the effect of the extracts from mustard leaf kimchi on free radical scavenging was observed by the determination of the superoxide anion radical scavenging activity, it had similar value to that of $\alpha$-tocopherol.

Antimicrobial activity of GL (the aqueous extract from the carpophores of Ganoderma lucidum ($F_RK_{KARST}$) was tested in vitro aginst Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria by serial broth dilution method, and the antimicrobial activity was expressed by minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC). Among fifteeen species of bacteria tested, the natimicrobial activity of GL was of antimicrobial combinations of GL with four kinds of antibiotics (ampicilin, cefazolin, oxytet-racycline and chloramphenicol), the fractional inhibitory concentraction index (FICI) was determined by checkerboard assy for each stain. The antimicrobial combinations of GL with four antibiotics resulted in additive effect in most instances, synergism in two instances, and antagonism in two instances. Synergism was obversed when GL was combined with cefazolin against Bacillus subtilis and Klebsiella oxytoca.

This paper proposes performance measurement method of quality small-group activity in business. This paper collects and analyzes quality circle activities data respect to tangible and intangible effect in national quality circles competitions festival. This paper proposes QPI (quality-circle performance index) based on Balanced Scorecard for quality small-group activity in quality improvement area. QPI is to measure the performance of quality improvement activities in the business firms. QPI is able to use widely in industries to provide a performance measure of quality small-group activity. In this paper, we propose the application method of QPl.
