We evaluated certain issues related to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) coupled with the use of active 2.5 GHz radio frequency identification (RFID) tags for patient identification using low field (0.3 T) MRI and computed tomography (CT) scans. We also investigated the performance of the RFID reader located outside the MRI room by considering several factors. A total of ten active RFID tags were exposed to several MRI sequences and X-rays of CT scan. We found that only card type active RFID tags are suitable for patient identification purpose in MRI environment and both wristbands as well as card tags were suitable for the same in CT environment. Severe artifacts were found in the captured MRI and CT images when the area of the imaging was in proximity to the tags. No external factors affected the performance of active RFID reader stationed outside the MRI scan room.

Today, the food packaging industry has a great interest in using active packaging to fresh food product as a solution for the future to positively provide its quality, safety and shelf life. Many researches have extensively studied functional packaging strategies in recently years. Controlled release packaging (CRP) is an innovative packaging technology in the packaging polymer matrix from which can active agents are delivered in a controlled way into the product. CRP technology is well-suited for controlling release of antimicrobial compounds and antioxidants to prevent food degradation reactions such as microbial growth and lipid oxidation. Advances in CRP technology allow food packaging manufacturers to challenge the development of better functional food packaging systems. This overview examines the most recent developments and technologies of active packaging for applying the food industry. The scope of this article has mainly been focused on controlled releasing systems.

This study investigated the thermal stabilities of the four limonoidal active compounds like azadirachtin A, azadirachtin B, deacetylsalannin and salannin and of the two alkaloidal active compounds like matrine and oxymatrine in commercial biopesticides at incubated conditions ($30^{\circ}C$, $35^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$, $45^{\circ}C$, and $54^{\circ}C$). Half-lives of the limonoidal compounds in biopesticide ranged from 25.6 to 220 days. And the total limonoid contents changed over 15% after 14 days at all the conditions in the tested biopesticide containing neem extract. On the contrary, half-lives of the alkaloidal compounds in biopesticide showed the ranges from 231 to 346 days. And total alkaloidal compounds in all the tested biopesticides containing Sophora flavescens extracts decomposed below 15% after 14 days incubation at $54^{\circ}C$.

In this study, we analyzed the next generation ITS (C-ITS) technology trends, focusing on the national and international C-ITS projects. Based on the promotion practices of developed countries, we pointed out the lack of linkages with the existing ITS infrastructure. As a way to overcome this problem, we proposed the three-direction to enable the existing ITS infrastructure corresponding to the C-ITS. First one is developing a technique to improve the performance of the existing ITS infrastructure and automate the performance management (Performance-enhanced ITS). Second, developing active sensors or fusion sensor which along with V2X communication technology implement of an active safety driving support system (Safety-enhanced ITS). Third, we need to develop a technology that generate the new advanced traffic data by integrating the collected data from existing ITS infrastructure and nomadic device (Cloud-ITS). By improving the function of the existing ITS infrastructure for adaptation to the new V2X communication environment, we enhanced the efficiency of maintenance performance and would maximize the benefit of the introduction of C-ITS.

In urban life, an interest in safety and demands for safety information about crimes and traffic are increasing. As well, communication on the internet is so active. In this study, we analyze web sites in US, UK, and JP, which have started safety map services, and then we provide basic material for the introduction of safety map into Korea. According to the analysis result, in US and UK, the safety map web sites are administered by the government and provided to the general public. The geographical area is provided around administrative districts and statistical data. In JP, The safety map web site provide not a one sided service but the service that user can directly take a part in, and also there is an web site for crimes against vulnerable people.

This study is to investigate the degree of field awareness of how each provision of the Serious Disaster Punishment Act will affect accident prevention. As a result of conducting a survey of construction site workers, it was analyzed that construction site workers had a low sense of safety and did not voluntarily engage in safety activities. And it can be seen that they are taking a very passive position that it is efficient to implement safety under the supervision of the supervisor. Workers who need voluntary construction site safety activities are most aware of the situation at the site, but the problem was pointed out as "lack of procedures for listening to opinions and preparing improvement measures" for these problems. Future research is needed to see if this is a problem for individual workers or for those in charge of safety and health who do not correct it even though active opinions have been submitted.

Background: There is considerable evidence that leadership influences workplace safety, but less is known about the relative importance of different leadership styles for safety. In addition, a leadership style characterized by an emphasis and a focus on promoting safety has rarely been investigated alongside other more general leadership styles. Methods: Data were collected through a survey to which 269 employees in a paper mill company responded. A regression analysis was conducted to examine the relative roles of transformational, transactional (management-by-exception active; MBEA), and safety-specific leadership for different safety behavioral outcomes (compliance behavior and safety initiative behaviors) and for minor and major injuries. Results: A safety-specific leadership contributed the most to the enhanced safety of the three different kinds of leadership. Transformational leadership did not contribute to any safety outcome over and above that of a safety-specific leadership, whereas a transactional leadership (MBEA) was associated with negative safety outcomes (fewer safety initiatives and increased minor injuries). Conclusion: The most important thing for leaders aiming at improving workplace safety is to continuously emphasize safety, both in their communication and by acting as role models. This highlights the importance for leadership training programs aiming to improve safety to actually focus on safety-promoting communication and behaviors rather than general leadership. Furthermore, an overly monitoring and controlling leadership style can be detrimental to attempts at achieving improved workplace safety.

Fire and smoke can from a small ignition source develop rapidly. Active systems in combination with Passive Fire Protection measures will offer highest safety standards to the building's developers and occupants. Nevertheless, the fire growth is very unpredictable and it is therefore essential at the planning stage that tested solutions are well selected according to National codes and later on installed by qualified contractors to ensure optimum performance. This demonstrates that Passive Fire Protection as safety measure cannot be neglected. Recent fire cases all over the world still proof that fire can develop any time and any where even in countries of high safety standards.
