  • The HPFRCCs show that the multiple crack propagation, high tensile strength and ductility due to the interfacial bonding of the fibers to the cement matrix. Moreover, performance of cement composites varies according to type and weight contents of reinforcing fiber. and HPFRCCs with hybrid fiber have better performance than HPFRCCs with single fiber in damage tolerance. Total four cylindrical specimens were tested, and the main variables were the type and weight contents of fiber, which was polyvinylalchol (PVA), polyethylene (PE). In order to clarify effect of hybrid types on the characteristics of fracture and damage process in cement composites, AE method was performed to detect micro-cracking in HPFRCCs under cyclic compression. Loading conditions of the uniaxial compression test were monotonic and cyclic loading. And from AE parameter value, it is found that the second and third compressive load cycles resulted in successive decrease of the amplitude as compared with the first compressive load cvcle.

  • This paper investigates the statistical properties of waves in the sea area of Uljin, which is located in the East Sea area of Korea. The wave data were measured using AWAC (Acoustic Wave and Current Meter), which was installed at a 16-m water depth from November 2010 to March 2011. The wave data acquisition rate, Hmax, monthly mean Hs, Tz, Tp, and wave direction are summarized. The distributions of Hs and Tz were analyzed using the Hs-Tz scatter diagrams. The measurement wave data were analyzed to investigate freak wave characteristics. By comparing the wave spectrum using the measurement wave data with the wave spectrum obtained by varying the JONSWAP wave spectrum, it was possible to approximate the wave spectrum shape at the Uljin Sea area.

  • We consider dynamical dark energy models based on a minimally coupled scalar field with three different potentials: the inverse power-law, SUGRA and double exponential potentials. For each model, we derived perturbation initial conditions in the early epoch and performed the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) analysis to explore the parameter space that is favored by the current cosmological observations like Planck CMB anisotropy, type Ia supernovae, and baryon acoustic oscillation data. The analysis has been done by using the modified CAMB/COSMOMC code in which the dynamical evolution of the scalar field perturbations are fully considered. The MCMC constraints on the cosmological as well as potential parameters are derived. In the talk we will present a progress report.

  • In this talk I will review recent progress that the SDSS-IV / eBOSS collaboration has made in constraining cosmology from the clustering of galaxies, quasars and the Lyman-alpha forest. The SDSS-IV / eBOSS collaboration has measured the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) and redshift space distortion (RSD) features in the correlation function in redshift bins from z~0.15 to z~2.33. These features constitute measurements of angular diameter distances, Hubble distances, and growth rate measurements. A number of consistency tests have been performed between the BAO and RSD datasets and additional cosmological datasets such as the Planck cosmic microwave background constraints, the Pantheon Type Ia supernova compilation, and the weak lensing results from the Dark Energy Survey. Taken together, these joint constraints all point to a broad consistency with the standard model of cosmology LCDM + GR, though they remain in tension with local measurements of the Hubble parameter.

  • Presently many constructions establish in underwater, but approaching to underwater constructions are difficult, for comparing with ground, underwater environment is different in media. Usually measurement methods for underwater constructions are using tapes, using depth gauges, using acoustic positioning systems. But, tapes are hard to measure the correct distance, for applying a right tension is not easy in underwater. Depth gauges have a weakness in settling, for it takes long time to do it. Acoustic positioning systems don't work well in confined spaces and cost a lot. Hence, the purpose of this study is, at first, to understand rays path in multimedia like water, glass and air. The second thing is to perform a camera calibration at the field to compare with the interior orientation parameter. And the third thing is to find out whether photogrammetry is applied for underwater object in using cube for accuracy examination. The last thing is to perform underwater photogrammetry about underwater object, which is pier model and riverbed. We came to the conclusion through this experiment that the applying underwater photogrammerty for underwater constructions and underwater ground is possible.

  • Application of the filtered-x LMS adaptive filter to active noise cancellation requires to estimate the transfer charactersitics between the output and the error signal of the adaptive canceler. In this paper, we derive the filtered-x adaptive noise cancellation algorithm and analyze its convergence behavior when the acoustic noise consists of multiple sinusoids. The results of the convergence analysis of the filtered-x LMS algorithm indicate that the effects of the parameter estimation inaccuracy on the convergence behavior of the algorithm are characterized by two distinct components : Phase estimation error and estimated gain. In particular, the convergence is shown to strongly affected by the accuracy of the phase response estimate. Simulation results are presented to support the theoretical convergence analysis.

  • This study developed the health monitoring method of press process using the acoustic emission (AE) sensor and high-pass filter. Also, the AE parameters such as ring-down count and peak amplitude are used. Based on this AE signal, the AE parameters were acquired and was utilized to detect the crack of the specimen. Since the defect detection is difficult due to noise and low magnitude of signal, the signal noise and press operation frequency were checked through the Short Time Fourier Transform(STFT) and damped. High-pass Filtering data was applied to AE parameters to select effective parameters. By using this signal processing techniques, the proposed AE parameters could improve the performance of defect detection in the press process.

  • In this study, the PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) piero-film sensor was applied to measure the internal quality of apple. The developed sensor detected the response signal through apple after mechanical impact on the surface of apple. The acoustical parameters at time domain such as rise time (RT), ring down count (RC), energy (EN), event duration (ED) and peak amplitude (PA) and acoustical parameter at frequency domain such as spectral density (SE) were analyzed. The size of waveform decreased as storage time of apple increased. The frequency at maximum magnitude was shifted to lower frequency band according to the storage time. The acoustical parameters showed strong relationship with storage time. The multiple linear regression equation was developed to estimate storage time of apple using the acoustical parameters at time domain and its coefficient of determination was 0.97. The internal quality of apple according to storage time is predictable using developed PVDF sensor and acoustical parameters defined in this study.

  • Background and Objectives: The goals of laryngeal reconstruction have been prevention of aspiration, production of a functional voice, and maintenance of an adequate airway for decannulation. It is generally believed that the reconstruction of the glottic region after vertical partial laryngectomy (VPL) can improve laryngeal function. The objective of this study is to evaluate of voice function after VPL with mucosal flap and fat graft reconstruction. Materials and Methods: From 1994 to 2006, 13 patients, who had been treated with VPL with mucosal flap and fat graft reconstruction. The voice characteristics, acoustic, aerodynamic parameter were measured in 13 patients after vertical partial laryngectomy with mucosal flap and fat graft reconstruction. Acoustic analysis was carried out using Computerized Speech Lab (CSL) and aerodynamic analysis were carried out using Aerophon II,3 months and 12 months after surgery. Results: The GRBAS scale, jitter, shimmer, NHR were improved as time goes on after surgery. But, maximum phonation time was shortened after surgery and there is no significant differences between before and after surgery in mean flow rate. Conclusion: The voice function of the mucosal flap and fat graft reconstruction after VPL were satisfactory. This can be an excellent reconstruction method after vertical partial laryngectomy.

  • Application fields of ultrasonic transducers can be divided into two categories, a high ultrasonic resolution required field and a high ultrasonic power required field. This paper is aimed to determine the optimal properties of the matching layers of the transducer for each of the applications. Further, it is aimed to optimize the properties of the matching layers that show satisfactory performances for both of the application fields. Through the direct time domain analysis of the transmission and reflection behavior of the ultrasonic wave, apart from the conventional equivalent circuit analysis, and Fourier transformation of its results, we found the optimum acoustic impedances of the matching layers. The newly determined layers provide much better transducer performance-57% at most-than those obtained with conventional design methods. Based on the results, we also found the optimal acoustic impedances of the layers good for both of the application fields. For te optimization, we developed a new transducer performance evaluation parameter that can be applied to any type of ultrasonic transducers.
