  • Accuracy of the scaling function is very crucial in wavelet theory, or correspondingly, in the study of wavelet filter banks. We are mainly interested in vector-valued filter banks having matrix factorization and indicate how to choose block central symmetric matrices to construct multi-wavelets with suitable accuracy.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the accuracy performance of dental professionals in the classification of different types of dental implant systems (DISs) using panoramic radiographic images with and without the assistance of a deep learning (DL) algorithm. Methods: Using a self-reported questionnaire, the classification accuracy of dental professionals (including 5 board-certified periodontists, 8 periodontology residents, and 31 dentists not specialized in implantology working at 3 dental hospitals) with and without the assistance of an automated DL algorithm were determined and compared. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, confusion matrix, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, and area under the ROC curves were calculated to evaluate the classification performance of the DL algorithm and dental professionals. Results: Using the DL algorithm led to a statistically significant improvement in the average classification accuracy of DISs (mean accuracy: 78.88%) compared to that without the assistance of the DL algorithm (mean accuracy: 63.13%, P<0.05). In particular, when assisted by the DL algorithm, board-certified periodontists (mean accuracy: 88.56%) showed higher average accuracy than did the DL algorithm, and dentists not specialized in implantology (mean accuracy: 77.83%) showed the largest improvement, reaching an average accuracy similar to that of the algorithm (mean accuracy: 80.56%). Conclusions: The automated DL algorithm classified DISs with accuracy and performance comparable to those of board-certified periodontists, and it may be useful for dental professionals for the classification of various types of DISs encountered in clinical practice.

  • Research classification of software modules was done to validate the approaches proposed for addressing limitations in existing classification approaches. The objective of this study was to replicate the experiments of a recently published research study and re-evaluate its results. The reason to repeat the experiment(s) and re-evaluate the results was to verify the approach to identify the faulty and non-faulty modules applied in the original study for the prioritization of test cases. As a methodology, we conducted this study to re-evaluate the results of the study. The results showed that binary logistic regression analysis remains helpful for researchers for predictions, as it provides an overall prediction of accuracy in percentage. Our study shows a prediction accuracy of 92.9% for the PureMVC Java open source program, while the original study showed an 82% prediction accuracy for the same Java program classes. It is believed by the authors that future research can refine the criteria used to classify classes of web systems written in various programming languages based on the results of this study.

  • This study aims to analyze the accuracy of rover speed change in route surveying using RTK-GPS. Route surveying methods using GPS contain Static, DGPS, and RTK-GPS. Much research of navigation system, positioning of vehicles by DGPS, and accuracy analysis by GPS surveying have already been done. From this study, it is firstly found that DGPS is suitable for car navigation and sea navigation with an error of meter scale but not good for detailed construction, designing maps and updating GIS databases. Secondly, RTK-GPS can be used for managing gas pipes, water supply and drain pipes and fiber-optic cable that are needed to be controlled in a real time basis. Thirdly, since the accuracies of route surveying by RTK-GPS and DGPS are not correctly matched with the change of rover speed, the choice of route surveying method from those two should follow the need of accuracy fidelity Further study should focus on Cycle Slip problem and coordinate change problem in tunnel and mountainous areas.

  • This study pursues the problems of plan photogrammetry which is widely used in somatotyping at present, and find out a method which can improve accuracy of measurement on the basis of principles and mechanisms of photography-the basic foundation of the photographic analysis methods. As a result, this study proposes a new method which is based on the reference point method and perspective coordinate system. And the test measurement was operated to compare the measurement accuracy of the proposed method and the method based on reference grid screen method and perpendicular coordinate system which is commonly used at present. The result of this test measurement showed that the proposed method has higher accuracy. Two reasons can be pointed out for the improvement of measuring accuracy. The first reason is that the proposed perspective coordinate system reduces the perspective distortion of photography. And second reason is that measuring points can be closely placed to the scale and coordinate reference plan of measurement by the proposed reference point method which make possible to place measuring object (or person) at the center of scale and coordinate reference plan by utilizing reference points of measurement in the three dimensional space not on screen.

  • In this study, terrain classification, which was done by using the quantitative classification parameters and suitable interpolation method was applied to improve the accuracy of digital elevation models, and to increase its practical use of aerial photogrammetry. A terrain area was classified into three groups using the quantitative classification parameters to the ratio of horizontal, inclined area, magnitude of harmonic vectors, deviation of vector, the number of breakline and proposed the suitable interpolation. Also, the accuracy of digital elevation models was improved in case of large grid intervals by applying combined interpolation suitable for each terrain group. As a result of this study, I have an algorithm to perform the classification of the topography in the area of interest objectively and decided optimal data interpolation scheme for given topography.

  • This study is to analyze the accuracy of position determination in cadastral surveying using VRS GNSS(GPS/GLONASS), and is to suggest a possibility to improvement of accuracy in decision making of cadastral surveying result based on this result. As a result of this study, the position accurate of this study, which decides position combining with GPS/GLONASS satellite data is about 3cm more accurate than using only GPS satellite data. Therefore, if GNSS integrated receiving method is to be applied on cadastration, it can be expected to improve to estimate the position accuracy.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of four elastomeric interocclusal recording materials and the weight change according to different storage period (24 hours, 48hours, 7days) and different conditions (dry, wet). The techniques for establishing the intercuspal position were centic occlusion interocclusal record with four elastomeric interocclusal recording materials (Ramitec, Stat-BR, Blu-Mousse, Regisil) (experimental groups) and location of the cast in a position of maximum in-terdigitation using tactile and visual method(control group). To evaluate the accuracy of four elastomeric interocclusal recording materials, the quality of contacts between the mounted casts was compared with the results of an occlusal examination of the same subjects. The results were as follows : 1. The most accurate method of articulating study casts at the intercuspal position was by hand articulation and no significant differences in accuracy were observerd among the experimental groups. 2. In case of interocclusal records storaged in dry sealed plastic box, no significant differences in accuracy were observed among the experimental groups. 3. In case of interocclusal records storaged in water, there was significant inaccuracy in Ramitec group. 4. The biggest weight change was observed in Ramitec group in all storage conditions

  • In this study, the performance of ranging techniques for the Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) space communication system is investigated. KPLO is the first lunar mission of Korea, and pseudo-noise (PN) ranging will be used to support the mission along with sequential ranging. We compared the performance of both ranging techniques using the criteria of accuracy, acquisition probability, and measurement time. First, we investigated the end-to-end accuracy error of a ranging technique incorporating all sources of errors such as from ground stations and the spacecraft communication system. This study demonstrates that increasing the clock frequency of the ranging system is not required when the dominant factor of accuracy error is independent of the thermal noise of the ranging technique being used in the system. Based on the understanding of ranging accuracy, the measurement time of PN and sequential ranging are further investigated and compared, while both techniques satisfied the accuracy and acquisition requirements. We demonstrated that PN ranging performed better than sequential ranging in the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime where KPLO will be operating, and we found that the T2B (weighted-voting balanced Tausworthe, voting v = 2) code is the best choice among the PN codes available for the KPLO mission.
