  • This study empirically investigated cultural differences in the amount of information provided by managerial accounting information systems as well as the differences in organizational performance according to variations in the amount of information. Through cluster analysis, I classified sample firms into five organizational cultural types: Semi-innovative, innovative, bureaucratic, semi-bureaucratic and supportive. The results showed that in the semi-innovative firms, a greater amount of the traditional and advanced types of information is produced, while in bureaucratic firms, traditional information is much more provided than in the innovative, semi-bureaucratic and supportive firms. These results confirmed cultural differences in the amount of information produced. According to the results of this study, it was found that in organizational performance, the rankings of semi-innovative firms, which have the highest scores in the amount of information, are also the highest, and the performance scores in innovative firms are generally next to those of semi-innovative firms. Hence it is concluded that there are cultural differences in the amount of information provided and theses differences affect organizational performance

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether prioritizing big data in management accounting decisions such as cost volatility estimation and recipe optimization can improve smart solution performance and decision-making effectiveness. Based on the survey answers of 84 decision makers at domestic small and medium-sized manufacturers who operate smart solutions such as ERP and MES that link manufacturing data in real time, empirical research was conducted. As a result, it was analyzed that setting prioritization of big data has a positive effect on decision-making in management accounting. became In addition, it was found that big data prioritization has a mediating effect that indirectly affects smart solution performance by using big data in management accounting decision making. Through the research results, it will be possible to contribute as a prior research to develop a scale to evaluate the correlation between big data in the process of business decision making.

  • This kind of case study suggests a way for future's accounting standards under the complicated situation of K-IFRS. A change of accounting standards causes a severely different performance between K-IFRS and K-GAAP. Further, the change affects the whole business of the financial companies. As the K-IFRS is not a rule based accounting standard but a principle based accounting standard, companies have to keep their internal system in detail. Likewise, companies can get their competitiveness in the field.

  • Faced with tougher competition in global, organizations are pressured to improve organizational productivity, including information systems(IS) departments. Especially related to IS, trying to remain competitive and up-to-date in rapidly changing world is becoming a financial burden to many organizations. Through outsourcing, organizations can provide better services and acquire and maintain a competitive advantage. In recent years IS outsourcing related researches have appeared in trade and academic literature. However the research on accounting information systems(AIS) outsourcing is very little or limited. This study attempts to empirically test the relationship between determinant factors and the degree of accounting information systems outsourcing as well as the relationship between success factors and the interactions between the degree of accounting information systems outsourcing and outsourcing success. Based on the previous studies on IS outsourcing and its related theories, determinant factors(transaction characteristic, resource performance, and risk dependence) and success factors(monitor, participation, and vendor capability) were identified and their measures were developed. Empirical results demonstrate that the change in the degree of AIS outsourcing is determined by the specificity of accounting information asset, uncertainty, the effect of internal AIS, AIS cost-effectiveness, and cost increase risks, and that monitor and vendor capability are implementation factors determining the degree of outsourcing success.

  • This study investigates the nexus between the level of Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosures (CSRD) and Risk of Bankruptcy of companies that are listing in the Stock Exchanges of Vietnam. To investigate that relationship, this study collected secondary data from annual audited financial statements from 2014 to 2018 of listing companies. Applying two different regression models with two dependent variables and six independent and control variables, we find out that Vietnamese firms with higher level of CSRD performance can rapidly reduce their risk of bankruptcy. This phenomenon happens in the current year and in the coming years in all firms in the research sample. This result may be that the disclosures of social responsibility information can bring financial and non-financial benefits to the firms. In addition, the results also point out that there is a difference in risk of bankruptcy between the group of companies, which discloses and the one which does not disclose corporate social responsibility on their annual reports. This might be from the effects of various factors such as business size, financial leverage, market to book ratio, return on assets, cash flow from operations, etc. Our research results can be applied to other firms in Vietnam and in other similar jurisdictions.

Two main characteristics of budgetary goal mentioning in the study are the clarity of budget goal and the difficult of budget goal. Data of the research collected from survey with 197 department managers and supervisors of 80 SMEs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City who have budgeting responsible. Firstly, by using quantitative research method Cronbach's Alpha and Exploratory Factor Analysis, the research show that characteristic of budgetary goal has significant and positive impact on profit growth directly. Secondly, the regression analysis among variables show that budget goal clarity was positively and significantly related to growth of sale revenue, growth of profit and managerial performance. Therefore, the empirical findings show that that managerial performance has mediating role in the relationship between budgetary goal characteristic and financial performance. • Purposes of this paper are to investigate whether managers' compensation is sticky as accounting performance(ROA) vary or not and explore further what factors influence the managers' compensation stickiness. To empirically study the stickiness of managers' compensation, we used the financial data from manufacturing firms lised in the Korea Stock Exchange(1,000 firm-year data for 4 years). The results are as follows : First, managers' compensation is sticky with respect to change in accounting performance. That is, the increase in managers' compensation as accounting performance increases is greater than the decrease in managers' compensation in respect to equivalent decrease in accounting performance. Second, the degree of managers' compensation stickiness increases when managers have influence and contribution to firm value. Specifically, the degree of stickiness is positively associated with investment opportunity set, intangible assets' value, uncertainty of firms' operating environment, complexity of organizational hierarchy. But firms' size reversely impacts on the degree of managers' compensation stickiness.
