Interference Pattern Analysis in the Optical CDMA system using the SCAE and SCAD (SCAE와 SCAD를 이용한 광 CDMA시스템에서 간섭패턴 분석)

  • We have analyzed optical matched filters considering the third order signals in the optical code division multiple access (CDMA) system based on optical series coupler access encoder (SCAE) and series coupler access decoder (SCAD). In previous studies, the performance evaluation of the optical CDMA system using SCAE and SCAD was not sufficiently accurate because they analyzed system performance only considering the first order signals. Since optical SCAE and SCAD intrinsically have high order signals of various patterns as the number of coupler increases, they change auto- and cross-correlation intensities. Thus, it is necessary to investigate properties of the third order signals so that we may analyze the exact performance of system. In this paper, we mathematically interpret the optical signals up to the third order, and analyzed the effects of th third order signals on auto- and cross-correlation intensities. In result, as ${\alpha}$(coupling coefficient) value increases, the intensity of the third order signals increases. It is found that the peak to side-lobe ratio considering the third order signals is degraded by 3.75 dB at N(coupler number)=5 and ${\alpha}$=0.5. Also if threshold value in receiver is set by main-lobe peak of the first order signals, it is found that the number of users in an optical CDMA system is limited because the intensity peak of side-lobes is raised by the third order signals.

  • As two dimensional bar code can collect data and information quickly, it is used and recognized as a useful tool for the many industrial application field. But the information capacity of two dimensional bar code is still limited. Recently, the two dimensional AD bar code (analog-digital code) that can increase its application range and overcome capacity limitation is developed. In this paper, we implement an effective system which can transform text information into voice using two dimensional AD bar code and TTS(Text To Speech). It can be transmitted to blind people by capturing the AD bar code on the papers or the books.

  • This paper proposes a novel method for acoustically and wirelessly transmitting data underwater with a high transmission rate. The method uses the most promising physical layer and multiple access technique (i.e., the code division multiple channel access technique) to divide the channel into subchannels. Data is transmitted through these subchannels. The codes are pseudo-random noise (PN) sequences. In the spread-spectrum technique, a signal such as electrical, electromagnetic, acoustic signal generated in a particular bandwidth is deliberately spread in the frequency domain, which results in a signal with a wider bandwidth. This paper reviews the possibility of application of the direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) technique in an underwater system using MATLAB. As the result of our review, we recognize that the DS-CDMA technique can be applied to underwater environments.

Parallel Transmission and Recovery Methods of Images Using the Two Dimensional Fiber-Optic Code-Division Multiple-Access System (2차원 광부호분할 다중접속 시스템에 의한 영상의 병렬 전송과 복원법)

  • Two-dimensional(2-D) fiber-optic code-division multiple-access(FO-CDMA) system utilizes the optical orthogonal signature pattern code(OOSPC) to encode and decode 2-D data. Encoded 2-D data are spatially multiplexed and transmitted through an image fiber and receiver recovers the intended data by means of thresholding process. OOSPC's construction methods based on expansion of the optical orthogonal code, which is used in one-dimensional(1-D) FO-CDMA system, are introduced. Each OOSPC's performances are compared by using the bit error rate(BER) of interfering OOSPC's of other users. From the results we verify that a balanced incomplete block design(BIBD) construction has the best performance among other mehtods. We also propose a decomposed bit-plane method for parallel transmission and recovery of 256 gray-scale images using OOSPC's constructed by the BIBD method. The simulation result encourages the feasibility of parallel transmission and recovery of multiuser's images.

  • Because of the development of IPTV, user is provided service of multimedia data regardless the location. But the number of users who try to get service of IPTV game illegally is also increasing. In this paper, user authentication protocol in IPTV housing using PIN code not to access easily for teenagers not to access to prohibited games. The proposed protocol combines authority data in IPTV household and creates a disposable password using PIN code to prevent teenagers from accessing illegally to the prohibited games and saves the data in certification server and set-top box to prevent forced accessing.

Error Control Coding and Space-Time MMSE Multiuser Detection in DS-CDMA Systems

  • We consider the use of error control coding in direct sequence-code-division multiple access (OS-COMA) systems that employ multiuser detection (MUO) and space diversity. The relative performance gain between Reed-Solomon (RS) code and convolutional code (CC) is well known in [1] for the single user, additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. In this case, RS codes outperform CC's at high signal-to-noise ratios. We find that this is not the case for the multiuser interference channel mentioned above. For useful error rates, we find that soft-decision CC's to be uniformly better than RS codes when used with DS-COMA modulation in multiuser space-time channels. In our development, we use the Gaussian approximation on the interference to determine performance error bounds for systems with low number of users. Then, we check their accuracy in error rate estimation via system's simulation. These performance bounds will in turn allow us to consider a large number of users where we can estimate the gain in user-capacity due to channel coding. Lastly, the use of turbo codes is considered where it is shown that they offer a coding gain of 2.5 dB relative to soft-decision CC.

  • In a frequency selective fading channel, Pre-Rake diversity technique provides simple receiver structure and sufficient diversity effect for mobile terminals. However, conventional Pre-Rake systems are more severely affected than Rake systems with regard to multiple access interference since the number of multipaths received at the mobile unit is nearly twice that of the Rake systems. In order to overcome the problem, a Pre-Rake TDD-CDMA system using zero correlation duration (ZCD) spreading code is proposed. Modified ZCD codes including guard interval (GI) is also proposed and the performance is evaluated by computer simulation under the condition of various channel environment.

  • In the uplink of OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) based M-WiMAX(Mobile-Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) system, linear phase shift is caused by signals transmitted from multiuser with different delay time and thus, MAI (Multiple Access Interference) occurs. MAI degrades the performance of ranging code detection and delay time estimation in the uplink. Therefore, in this paper, we propose ranging algorithm, applying SIC (Successive Interference Cancellation) to the conventional ranging algorithm, to minimize MAI and to improve ranging performance. The proposed ranging algorithm is verified through the Monte Carlo simulation, which shows the improved performance of ranging code detection and delay time estimation compared to the conventional algorithms. Through compared with random access of the 3GPP LTE, we can know limit of ranging performance.

  • This study defined the name of records producing institution as the unique preferred form of access point which has same identification and same entity by using Standard Administration Code, and also described the name of records producing institution which has various name form as formal-name form of access point, which has same identification and same entity. This study make us be able to identify and access to all of the records that institution, has same identification and same entity, has produced. And the mechanic, I designed by ontology would make reinforce 'the principle of provenance' and 'respect for orignal order' and make user satisfy in useability of archives and expanded retrieval results.
