0.5wt% 탄소강을 이용한 해안 야외부식시험과 염수분무시험, 가속부식시험의 가속계수에 대한 연구 (The Study on the Acceleration Factor of Coastal Outdoor Corrosion test, Salt Spray Test and Accelerated Corrosion Test using 0.5wt% carbon steel)

  • In the industry, accelerated corrosion test is used for the life time prediction. When anti-corrosion test proceeds in real environments, it is difficult that we predict and evaluate the corrosion life time because of the long test time such as 10 years or more time. Accelerated corrosion test and Salt spray test are able to test corrosion life time of products in the laboratory instead of outdoor corrosion test. Experimental procedure is selected for the corrosion standard specimen, exposure of the specimens, measurements of the mass loss and evaluating the mass loss data. As a result, the acceleration factor of the accelerated corrosion test to the outdoor corrosion test is 414.8. Therefore we can predict the corrosion life time of carbon steel during a short time period.

  • To evaluate anti-corrosion performance of rebar in concrete according to the amount of chloride and inhibitor, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) method was conducted in this study. For the anti-corrosion performance evaluation according to time, Impedance of rebar in concrete was measured before and after 5 cycle of corrosion acceleration. As a results, The impedance of rebar in concrete added chloride decreased than before corrosion acceleration. However impedance of other specimens was maintained or increased than before corrosion acceleration.

Hybrid형 폴리머 시멘트 슬러리로 도장한 철근의 부착강도와 부식저항성 (Bond Strength and Corrosion Resistance of Coated Reinforcing Bar Using Hybrid-Type Polymer Cement Slurry)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the bond strength and corrosion resistance of coated reinforcing bar using hybrid-type polymer cement slurry(PCS). PCS coated steels, which is made from two types of polymer dispersions such as St/BA and EVA are prepared, and tested for bond strength and various corrosion resistances such as autoclaved cure, carbonation and H2SO4 solution. From the test results, the bond strength of PCS coated reinforcing bar using ordinary portland cement at 1-5, 2-1 and 4-5 of mixes is higher than that of uncoated regular steel. However, bond strength of almost PCS coated reinforcing bars using ultra rapid high strength cement is higher than that of epoxy coated bar, is also in ranges of 102% to 123% compared to that of uncoated regular steel. In autoclaved accelerating test, the ratio of corrosion of uncoated regular steel is increased with the increase in NaCl content, but the corrosion of PCS coated steel was very small. In the acceleration test for carbonation, increasing the amount of NaCl the corrosion of coated steel did not produce. The corrosion of uncoated regular steel is increased with the increase in the amount of NaCl. It can be seen that the NaCl following the acceleration test for carbonation can lower the corrosion resistance of concrete. As a result, the corrosion of steel largely is affected by the acceleration curing, chloride ion penetration and carbonation and shown more severe corrosion by applying complex factors. These corrosions of steel can be suppressed by the coating of PCS.

  • Corrosion is of greatest concern for metallic materials exposed to corrosive seawater or aggressive marine atmospheres. Marine structures and components made of metallic materials incur an initial cost and additional large costs for corrosion control and maintenance. There have been worldwide efforts to minimize marine corrosion and extend service life of the materials. It is believed that various factors are associated with corrosion of marine grade metallic materials, particularly the temperature of the solution affecting the corrosion rate by changing dissolved oxygen solubility and concentrations of chloride. In the present study, the electrochemical characteristics of S355ML steel are investigated to identify corrosion acceleration tendencies with changes in solution temperature under marine environments. It was found that increasing seawater temperature, promoted not only activation of chloride ion transfer, but also the formation of porous $Fe(OH)_3$ or $Fe_2O_3$, leading to the acceleration of corrosion.

그라우트 품질을 고려한 텐던의 부식저항성 평가 (Evaluation of Corrosion Resistance with Grout Type and Tendon)

  • PSC 구조에서 덕트 내부의 그라우트는 텐던 부식에 효과적인 부식방어 기재이다. 본 연구에서는 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 그라우트와 낮은 물-시멘트비와 실리카 퓸을 혼입한 그라우트를 대상으로 역학적, 내구적 시험을 수행하였다. 높이 1000mm의 덕트를 이용하여 텐던 시스템을 제작하였으며, 두 가지 그라우트에 대하여 강도, 흡수율, 플로우, 블리딩, 팽창률 등을 평가하였다. 또한 내부 12.7mm 텐던에 대하여 ICM(Impressed Current Method)를 이용하여 2일 및 4일 동안 부식을 촉진시켰으며 부식량을 조사하였다. 개선된 그라우트에서는 10MPa 이상의 높은 강도와 50% 이하의 낮은 흡수율을 나타내었다. 또한 2일~4일 동안의 부식촉진실험에서 39.8%~48.2%의 뛰어난 부식감소율 나타내었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the repair system for RC members with damaged by rebar corrosion using new corrosion inhibitor which was high nitrite content. In the experiments, the acceleration corrosion test of rebar was conducted using the specimen which was applied by various repair system. As a result, it was confirmed that the new repair system without concrete patching had high anti-corrosion property compared with other repair systems and was very effective as a spray type corrosion inhibitor in concrete containing chloride (0.1% of NaCl).

OVERVIEW OF FRETTING CORROSION IN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS

  • Fretting corrosion widely known as a degradation mechanism refers to the combination of fretting wear and corrosion such as oxidation. This paper critically reviews the works published previously on fretting corrosion of electrical connectors. Various experimental approaches such as testing machines, material selection, testing environments, acceleration testing techniques and preventing methods are addressed. Future research prospects are suggested.

Evaluation of Corrosion Protection for Epoxy and Urethane Coating by EIS under Various Cyclic Corrosion Tests

  • Protective coatings play an important role in the protection of metallic structures against corrosive environment. The main function of anticorrosive coating is to prevent the materials from corrosive agents, such as water, oxygen and ions. In the study, the corrosion protection properties of urethane and epoxy coating systems were evaluated using EIS methods exposed to the corrosion acceleration test such as Norsok M501, Prohesion and hygrothermal cyclic test. AFM analysis of the coating systems was carried out to monitor the change of roughness of coatings. Urethane coating system was more stable than the epoxy coating under given cyclic conditions. Water uptake into the urethane coatings was less than that into the epoxy coating. The urethane coating system showed better corrosion protection than epoxy coating system based on the changes of the impedance modulus at low frequency region with exposure time. Consequently, the corrosion protection properties of the epoxy and urethane coatings was well correspond with their surface roughness changes and water uptakes.
