Data was collected and the program was conducted from March 3 to June 14, 2014. Measurements employed were the ARCS model of motivational design, self-assertiveness, learning satisfaction, and interpersonal relationship. Data was analyzed through frequency statistics, descriptive statistics, and repeated measurement of one-way analysis of variance with the SPSS 19.0 program. Results: In this student question-centered lesson participants exhibited significant enhanced satisfaction in terms of learning motivation, learning satisfaction, self-assertiveness, behavioral assertiveness, general assertiveness, and sensibility regarding interpersonal relationships. Conclusion: The results suggest that student question-centered lessons are applicable to a variety of subjects. Also, for comparative purposes, a faculty-centered lesson will be undertaken.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among emotional intelligence, resilience to burnout, and meaning in life of hospice volunteers. Methods: Data were collected through structured questionnaires from 200 hospice volunteers who were working at hospitals for six months or longer. Data were collected from March 7 to March 31, 2016, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS WIN 22.0. Results: There was a statistically significant correlation between emotional intelligence, resilience to burnout and meaning in life. The significant predictors of hospice volunteers' meaning in life were resilience to burnout(${\beta}=.47$), emotional intelligence(${\beta}=.15$), educational level(college, ${\beta}=.11$), religion(protestant, ${\beta}=.12$; buddhism, ${\beta}=-.15$), and motivation for neighborhood service(${\beta}=.16$). These variables explained meaning in life up to 50.2%. Resilience to burnout was the greatest effective factor on meaning in life. Conclusion: These results suggest a need to develop programs that improve hospice volunteers' emotional intelligence and resilience to burnout. Also, educational level, religion, and service motivation of hospice volunteers should be considered.
Purpose: This study was done to examine the relationship among knowledge, health belief, and preventitive behavioral intention related to venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients with lower-limb musculoskeletal disorders. Methods: This transversal descriptive study looked at 145 adult patients with lower-limb musculoskeletal disorders, who were hospitalized in C hospital in G city. Data were collected from September 29 to October 6, 2012. Knowledge, health belief and preventitive behavioral intention were measured by structured questionnaires. Date were analyzed by descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, independent t-test, and Pearson correlation, using the SPSS program. Results: The mean score of knowledge related to VTE was low. The mean scores of health belief and preventitive behavioral intention related to VTE were moderate or higher than average. Preventitive behavioral intention positively correlated with knowledge, perceived benefit, and health motivation. Whereas, there was a negative correlation between preventitive behavioral intention and perceived barriers. Conclusion: These results suggest that developing a health care program which is able to enhance knowledge, perceived benefit, and health motivation related to VTE and reduce perceived barriers, is essential in order to promote preventitive behaviors.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to discover long-term effects of Problem-based learning (PBL) and Simulation Problem-based learning (S-PBL) on critical thinking, problem solving abilities, learning attitude, motivation, and learning satisfaction among nursing students at Cheju Halla College. Data were analyzed using the $x^2$ test, the Fisher exact test, and the independent t-test with SPSS for Windows version 21.0. Results: After the intervention, the experimental group reported increased learning motivation (t=2.70, p=.009), problem-solving ability (t=2.25, p=.028), academic self-efficacy (t=4.76, p<.001), self-learning ability (t=2.78, p<.001), and leadership (t=2.78, p=.007) relative to the control group. Conclusion: Team-based problem-based learning combined with smart education and lectures was found to be an effective approach for increasing the learning motivation, problem-solving ability, academic self-efficacy, self-learning ability, and leadership of nursing students.
Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the educational needs of interns and residents in Korean medicine as the first step in developing an education program to improve their research competencies. Methods: A mixed-method design, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, was used to investigate the educational needs for research competencies among interns and residents working in Korean medicine hospitals nationwide. Data were collected through online surveys and online focus group discussions (FGDs), and processed using descriptive statistical analysis and thematic analysis. The study results were derived by integrating survey data and FGD outcomes. Results: In total, 209 interns and residents participated in the survey, and 11 individuals participated in two rounds of FGDs. The majority of participants felt a lack of systematic education in research and academic writing in postgraduate medical education and highlighted the need for nationally accessible education due to significant disparities in the educational environment across hospitals and specialties. The primary barrier to learning research and academic writing identified by learners was the lack of knowledge, leading to time constraints. Improving learners' research competencies, relationship building, autonomy, and motivation through a support system was deemed crucial. The study also identified diverse learner types and preferred educational topics, indicating a demand for learner-centered education and coaching. Conclusion: This study provides foundational data for designing and developing a program on education on research competencies for interns and residents in Korean medicine and suggests the need for initiatives to strengthen these competencies.

This study presents a teaching model to increase the participation and interest, and to improve their understanding of physical concepts of first-year engineering students taking physics(2) course at a three-year college. In the class, a team task solution based on teamwork and a peer learning method through questions and answers between participants in each team were applied so that learners could actively participate in the class to discuss and present. We examined how the activities of each team affected students' interest in subjects, motivation to learn, and the degree of understanding of physical concepts. In the team activity, students were able to actively participate through emotional sharing between learners and free questions and explanations, and it was confirmed that academic achievement was improved by comparing the final exam evaluation results with the evaluation results of the previous three years.
