The MPPT Control Method of The Seaflow Generation by Using DC-DC converter (DC-DC 컨버터를 이용한 조류발전의 MPPT제어)

  • In this paper, MPPT(maximum power point tracking) control method of the seaflow generation system using DC-DC converters is proposed. This system consists of a variable speed seaflow generation system with permanent magnet synchronous generator, diode rectifier and DC-DC converter. In this proposed seaflow generation system, diode rectifier and DC-DC converter use for converting AC to DC and maximum power generation control, respectively. Advantages of MPPT control method presented in this paper don’t need to use the characteristic of the seaflow turbine at various seaflow speed and measure the seaflow speed and the rotating speed of seaflow turbine. Therefore, the proposed system has the characteristics of lower cost, lower complexity and higher efficiency. The effectiveness of algorithm is simulated and confirmed through Matlab Simulink.

  • 본 논문은 댐핑 저항을 사용하지 않고 LCL필터를 사용한 계통 연계형 PWM 컨버터를 제어하기 위해 종속(cascade) 구조를 갖는 궤환선형화 제어기법을 제안한다. 제안된 제어 알고리즘은 2[MW] DFIG 풍력발전 시스템에 적용한 시뮬레이션과 3[kW] AC/DC PWM 컨버터에 적용한 실험을 통해 그 타당성이 검증된다.

  • In foreign countries, high-efficiency electric machineries have been developed in view of cost reduction, environmental issues, energy conservation etc. Especially they focus on developing energy conservation measures and demand-side management. Thus, patent application and secure of patent claims are on the rise as important issues in this field. In this paper, we analyzed patent application trends about inverters, ac/dc converters, reactive power control equipments, high-efficiency transformers and electric ballasts among high-efficiency electric machineries. First, we analyzed general technology trends, and constructed patent technology data. Second, we graphed patent application trends in terms of application years, assignees and nations.

  • 본 논문에서는 댐핑저항을 사용하지 않고 LCL필터를 사용한 AC/DC PWM 컨버터를 제어하기 위해 다중 구조의 궤환 선형화 제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 일반 궤환선형화와는 달리 다중구조를 지니므로 컨버터 입력전류의 제한이 가능하다는 장점을 지닌다. 전원전압과 전원전류를 추정하기 위해 추정기가 사용되며 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 제어기의 성능이 검증된다.

  • In this study, we present the DPS system which is consist of several converters in parallel and supply the power to the load. The characteristics of the DPS using AC-bus or DC-bus, and load current sharing technique are discussed. We apply these techniques to the high-power paralleled DC/DC converter, and present the design requirements considered in the system.

  • This paper proposes a correction method of capacitance estimation considering the temperature effect for the DC-link capacitor banks in three-phase AC/DC PWM converters. In this work, a sensing circuit using a temperature sensor is designed for measuring the operating temperature. Capacitance value is corrected considering the measured temperature. This method has been implemented in experiment.

  • A novel lossless current sensing technique for a synchronous buck converter is presented. The inductor DCR method is generally used as a low cost and lossless current sensing technique of DC/DC converters. It is however difficult to obtain the accurate current value for the conventional DCR method because the inductor resistance varies depending on the operating frequency. In order to overcome this problem, an improved current sensing technique is proposed, which has the separated DC and AC sensing circuits. The concept and operation of the proposed method are explained and the experimental results are provided to show its effectiveness.

  • The resonant converters cause the high voltage stress according to the input voltage, which increases the conduction loss in converter power switches. The topology of LLC half bridge resonant converter provides ZVS characteristic and also the stress of voltage and current is not higher than that of the general resonant converters. So we can expect the higher efficiency. In this paper, the LLC resonant converter is designed for the notebook computer adapter. In the adapter design, we should consider the weight, the size and overheat of the adapter. Thus the higher efficiency is an essential particular. First of all, the optimal design of transformer is the most important facts. Some parameters should be considered in order to get the highest efficiency. The adapter is designed through the considering of these parameters including the PFC circuit of the pre-regulator. It converts AC line input into about $400V_{DC}$ Link voltage of the LLC converter input and the converter has $16V_{DC}/90W$ ratings. The efficiency measured is about up to 92%.

  • In this paper, a 50-kW high-efficiency modular fast charger for both electric vehicle (EV) and neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) is proposed. The proposed fast charger consists of five 10-kW modules to achieve fault tolerance, ease of thermal management, and reduce component stress. Three-level topologies for both AC-DC and DC-DC converters are employed to use 600V MOSFET, resulting in ease of component selection and increase in switching frequency. The proposed three-level DC-DC converter with coupled inductor and its hybrid switching method can reduce the circulating current under wide output voltage range. A 50-kW prototype of the proposed fast charger was developed and tested to verify the validity of the proposed concept. Experimental results show that the proposed fast charger achieves a rated efficiency of 95.2% and a THD of less than 3%.
