Power line communication or power line carrier (PLC) is a system for carrying data on a conductor and can also used for electric power transmission. Now the powers used in the motor drive system are mostly DC sources. Even AC powers in some systems are generated from DC sources by the inverter. It is can be forecasted that the DC-link PLC technology will be widely used in various industrial fields. In this paper a novel BLDC motor control system using ASK DC-link PLC technology is proposed. The characteristic of this system is that the communication only needs 2 DC lines and there are no additional lines to translate the reference signals. The number of signal cables can be minimized when the DC-link PLC method is applied in the multi motor control system and the slip ring design also can be simplified when this method is applied in rotation machines. The proposed motor control system is clarified by the PSIM and MATLAB simulations and tested through the hardware prototype.

This paper addresses the current measurement issue of all digital field oriented control of ac motors. The p paper focuses on the effect of low-pass filter and also on the sampling of the fundamental component of the m motor current. The low-pass filter, which suppresses the switching noise of the motor current, introduces v variable phase delay according to the current ripple frequency. It is shown that the current sampling error c consists of the fundamental component and high frL'quency ripple components. In this paper, the dependency of t this current sampling e$\pi$or on the reference voltage vector is investigated analytically and a sampling technique i is proposed to minimize the error. The work is based on the three phase symmetry pulse width modulation l inverter driving an induction machine. With this technique, the bandwidth of current regulator can be extended t to the limit given by the switching frequency of the inverter and more precise torque regulation is possible.

Optimal efficiency control of synchronous reluctance motor(SynRM) is very important in the sense of energy saving and conservation of natural environment because the efficiency of the SynRM is generally lower than that of other types of AC motors. This paper is proposed a novel efficiency optimization control of SynRM considering iron loss using multi adaptive fuzzy learning controller(AFLC). The optimal current ratio between torque current and exciting current is analytically derived to drive SynRM at maximum efficiency. This paper is proposed an efficiency optimization control for the SynRM which minimizes the copper and iron losses. There exists a variety of combinations of d and q-axis current which provide a specific motor torque. The objective of the efficiency optimization control is to seek a combination of d and q-axis current components, which provides minimum losses at a certain operating point in steady state. The control performance of the proposed controller is evaluated by analysis for various operating conditions. Analysis results are presented to show the validity of the proposed algorithm.

In order to improve the speed performance of the direct drive mechanical systems, a comprehensive analysis of the velocity ripples of blushless DC motors should be required. Every motor has a certain level of torque ripples when it generates power, and the generated torque ripple also makes the velocity ripples in the final output stage in speed control system. In this paper, a novel algorithm for reducing velocity ripples is proposed based on the modeling of torque ripples for BLDC motors. Various algorithms have been made for torque ripples, but usually they should be installed inside the amplifier logic, result in the difficulties of flexibility for various kinds of torque ripples. The proposed algorithm was developed for being ported in the controller not the amplifier, and it has the capability of the automatic compensation adjustment. The performance of the proposed algorithm was verified by effective simulations and experiments.

This paper proposes a dead time compensation method for an AC motor drive using phase current polarity information which is detected based on a digital programmable low-pass filter (PLPF). The polarity detection using the PLPF is an alternative solution of a conventional method which uses a general low-pass filter (LPF) and hysteresis bands in order to avoid jittering due to noises. The PLPF not only adjusts its cutoff frequency according to the synchronous frequency of AC motors but also eliminates a gain attenuation and phase delay which are main problems of the general LPF. Through the PLPF, a fundamental component signal without gain and phase distortions is extracted from the measured raw current signal with noise. By use of the fundamental component, the polarity of current is effectively detected by reducing the hysteresis band. Finally, the proposed method compensates the dead time effects by adding or subtracting average voltage value to voltage references of the controller according to the detected current polarity information. The proposed compensation method is experimentally verified by compared with the conventional method.

In this paper the problems associated with the switching surge of PWM inverter devices were analysed. As the application of ASD for efficient speed control of AC rmtors is increased, so is the rrntor and ASD-related failure increased. In the industrial rmtor awlications, the introduction of PWM drives can sometmes cause insulation breakdown between the phase windings due to high transient voltage peak. The motor cable length combined with the high switching frequency becomes more sensitive issue for proper drive operation. Effects of the cable length and high switching frequency influence both on rmtor and inverter. When the insulation level of rmtor winding is low, the failure probability caused by high peak voltage and fast voltage rise times(dv/dt) is high. Voltage refloctions are simulated far rmtor capacities, ASD and rise times and are presented graphically. The filtering techniques are discussed to reduce the rmtor terminal overvoltage and dv/dt in inverter fed AC rrntor drive systems. We confirmed that the lower motar capacity and rmtar insulation level, the shorter switching time and cable length and the higrer the probability of insulation breakdown .kdown .

This paper presents novel topologies implementation for Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) drive used in commercial applications. For effective utilization of the developed system, a novel direct current controlled PWM scheme is designed and implemented to produce the desired dynamic speed characteristic. In comparison to conventional asymmetric converter topology, it can minimize entire system costs by reducing numbers of power semiconductors. Therefore, it may open up investigation of a new way for SRM to compete with other ac motors such as induction motors, brushless dc motors, etc. The validity of the proposed method is verified through theoretical explanation and experimental results.
This paper presents a study on the indirect FOC (field oriented control) of induction motor using TMS320F240. This DSP has become possible to design and implement a highly efficient and accurate AC induction drive control. This paper describes a pulse width modulator based on the voltage space vectors technique that accepts voltage demands in dq coordinates and generates three-phase PWM waveforms to drive a variable frequency voltage-source inverter. The Current Model lock is added to generate the rotor flux angular speed.

The performance improvement in the high speed region for the sensorless based synchronous machine drive is discussed in the paper. Conventional dynamic overmodulation method in the vector controlled AC driver requires some calculation of maximum amplitude of the applying voltage vector to limit its amplitude, which leads to increase the calculation time of microprocessor. For low performance microprocessor, this might be impossible to complete the control loop within limited control time. Thus, to reduce the calculation time, the constantly limited amplitude for applying voltage vector is tried in this paper to drive sensorless based synchronous motor. Certainly, there exists some errors in amplitude and phase angle between inverter voltage and calculating voltage in the sensorless algorithm. But, this errors are too small to prevent the high speed sensorless operation within overmodulation region. The validities of the proposed method is proved by the experimental results.
Condition monitoring of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) and detecting faults such as eccentricity and demagnetization are essential for ensuring system reliability. Motor current signal analysis is the most commonly used precursor for detecting faults in the PMSM drive system. However, the current signature responds sensitively to the load and temperature of the motor, thereby making it difficult to monitor faults in real- applications. Therefore, in this study, a condition monitoring methodology that detects motor faults, including their classification with standstill conditions, is proposed. The objective is to detect and classify faults of PMSMs by using programmable inverter without additional sensors and systems for detection. Both DC and AC were applied through the d-axis of a three-phase motor, and the change in incremental inductance was investigated to detect and classify faults. Simulation with finite element analysis and experiments were performed on PMSMs in healthy conditions as well as with eccentricity and demagnetization faults. Based on the results obtained from experiments, the proposed method was confirmed to detect and classify types of faults, including their severity.
