Towards the Determinants of On-Line Game Sites (온라인 게임사이트 성공요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study tried to find the source of the success of on-line game sites and the way how the absorption and the satisfaction would have the relationship with the intention-to-use of on-line game sites. The primary purpose of this study is to establish the empirical model on the determinants of on-line game sites. The research model of this study will have insights which are trigger to the higher dimensions on the model and to the importance of the evaluation criterions of game sites. The suggestions of the study are as follows. First, the precedent factors of research model were tested for the commonality with explorative factor analysis and then tried the confirmative factor analysis. Thus, the determinants in this model will be used for further study without an evaluation. Second, the factors which have a most significant effect on the mediating factor like the absorption are a skill of user and an activity of community. Furthermore, the information quality of game sites was most significant in the satisfaction of user. Third, the most factors which included in the research model were significant to intention-to-use, however, the system quality did negatively significant.

The Black Hole Mass - Stellar Velocity Dispersion Relation of Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 Galaxies

  • Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 galaxies are arguably the most important AGN subclass in investigating the origin of the black hole mass-galaxy stellar velocity dispersion (MBH-${\sigma}$) relation because of their high accretion rates close to the Eddington limit. Currently, it is still under discussion whether NLS1s are off from the local MBH-${\sigma}$ relation. We select a sample of 325 NLS1 at relatively low redshift (z<0.1) from the SDSS DR7 by constraining FWHM of $H{\beta}$ in the range of 800-2,200 km/s. Among them, we measured stellar velocity dispersion of 40 objects which show strong stellar absorption lines, e.g. Mg b triplet(${\sim}5175{\AA}$), Fe($5270{\AA}$). In contrast, the other 285 objects show too weak stellar absorption lines to measure velocity dispersion. Using the sample of 40 objects with stellar velocity dispersion measurements, we investigate whether NLS1s follow the same MBH-${\sigma}$ relation as normal galaxies and broad line AGNs. We also test the reliability of the width of narrow lines as a surrogate of stellar velocity dispersion by comparing directly measured stellar velocity dispersion with ${\sigma}$ inferred from [O III], [N II], [S II] line widths, respectively. We will discuss the connection between AGN activity in NLS1s and galaxy evolution based on these results.

2 - 4 ㎛ Spectroscopy of Red Point Sources in the Galactic Center

  • We present results from our long-term observing campaign, using the NASA IRTF at Maunakea, to obtain 2 - 4 ㎛ spectra of 118 red point sources in the line of sight to the Galactic Center (GC). Our sample is largely composed of point sources selected from near- and mid-infrared photometry, but also includes a number of massive young stellar objects. Many of these sources show high foreground extinction as shown by deep 3.4 ㎛ aliphatic hydrocarbon absorption feature, which is a characteristic of the diffuse ISM and comes from the long line of sight through the diffuse medium toward the Central Molecular Zone (CMZ), the central 300 pc region of the GC. The deep 3.1 ㎛ H2O ice absorption band coming from the local, dense material in the GC CMZ suggests that most sources are likely located in the GC CMZ. A few of these sources show weak CCH3OH ice absorption at 3.535 ㎛, which can provide a strong constraint on the CCH3OH ice formation in the unique environment of the CMZ. From the best-fitting models, the optical depths of these features are determined and used to generate a well-rounded view of the ice composition across the GC CMZ and the spectral characteristics of massive YSOs in the GC.

RF Power Absorption Enhancement of Magnetic Composites with Conductive Grid

  • To evaluate the electromagnetic power absorption in near field, the magnetic composites with the conductive grids were simulated using the typical permeability frequency profiles. The transmission power absorptions of the magnetic composites on microstrip line were extracted by the 3D FEM simulation program of HFSS. The magnitudes of power absorptions were greatly enhanced up to 98% and broadened the absorbing frequency band over 5 GHz by the insertion of a conductive grid in magnetic composite. The initial frequency of the power absorption can controlled by the change of the ferromagnetic resonance frequencies of the magnetic composite.

  • We present a detailed of the interband transitions of InAs/GaAs self-organized quantum dots(QDs) based on surface photovoltage(SPV), photoreflactance(PR) and photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopies. At room temperature, interband absorption transitions of QDs have been observed by using SPV spectrum, which clearly exhibits three well-resolved absorption transitions of QDs have been observed by using SPV spectrum, which clearly exhibits three well-resolved absorption peaks. The absorption line shape is Gaussian-like. Furthermore, the corresponding interband transitions are also observed in PR and PL experiments at 77K.

  • This paper raises issues in testing the absorption coefficients of sound-absorptive samples in the standing wave tube according to the Korean standard of KS F 2814. The code does not consider any effect of air-damping during test. This limitation has been shown to yield much variation of sound absorption coefficients for recent sample tests whose coefficients are less than 10 %. An improved method of calculating the sound absorption coefficients is proposed in this work and its effectiveness in real test is also illustrated. Finally, the guide line for the modification of our national standard code KS F 2814 is suggested for the future.

Microwave Absorption Study of Carbon Nano Materials Synthesized from Natural Oils

  • Thin films of carbon-nano materials (CNMs) of different morphology have been successfully deposited on ceramic substrate by CVD at temperatures $800^{\circ}C$, $850^{\circ}C$ and $900^{\circ}C$ using plant based oils in the presence of transition metal catalysts (Ni, Co and Ni/Co alloys). Based on the return and insertion loss, microwave absorption properties of thin film of nanocarbon material are measured using passive micro-Strip line components. The result indicates that amongst CNMs synthesized from oil of natural precursors (mustered oil - Brassica napus, Karanja oil - Pongamia glabra, Cotton oil - Gossipium hirsuta and Neem oil - Azadirachta indica) carbon nano fibers obtained from neem's seed oil showed better microwave absorption (~20dB) in the range of 8.0 GHz to 17.90 GHz.

  • Diode laser absorption sensors are advantageous because they may provide fast, sensitive, absolute, and selective measurements of species concentration. These systems are very attractive for practical applications owing to its compactness, reasonable cost, robustness, and ease of use. In addition, diode lasers we fiber-optic compatible and thus enable simultaneous measurements of multiple species along a line-of-sight. Recent advances of room-temperature, near-IR and visible diode laser sources for telecommunication, optical data storage applications make it possible to be applied for combustion diagnostics based on diode laser absorption spectroscopy. Therefore, combined with fiber-optics and high sensitive detection strategies, compact and portable sensor systems are now appearing for variety of applications. The objectives of this research are to develop new gas sensing system and to verify feasibility of this system. Wavelength modulation spectroscopy has been demonstrated in these experiments and has a bright prospect to this diode laser system.

Saturated Absorption Spectroscopy of 13C2H2 in the Near Infrared Region

  • Using the external cavity spectroscopy method, we have observed the saturated absorption spectrum of the P(16) line of the v$_1$+v$_3$ band of $^{13}C$_2$H$_2$$. The frequency of a laser has been stabilized to the saturated absorption spectrum. The relative contrast of the saturation spectrum is about 7% with respect to the linear absorption and the linewidth is about 1.8 MHz. The frequency fluctuation of the stabilized LD is about $\pm$ 20 KHz for a sampling time of 100 ms.

  • The 77 K luminescence and excitation spectra, room-temperature FT-infrared and visible absorption spectra of a newly prepared complex cis-[Cr(cyclam)(pn)]$(ClO_4)_3$, where cyclam and pn represent 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane and 1,2-propanediamine respectively, have been measured. Absorption maximum of the first spin-allowed transition in the electronic absorption spectra of cis-[Cr(cyclam)(pn)]$^{3+}$ and cis-[Cr(cyclam)(en)]$^{3+}$ appears at nearly the same position. The two spin-allowed and six spin-forbidden electronic transitions are assigned from the visible absorption and excitation spectra. It is also shown that the zero phonon line in the excitation spectrum splits into two components by 50 cm$^{-1}$.
